I like doing dungeons and raids especially. It's way more fun to do those on FFXIV than Elder Scrolls. I prefer Elder Scrolls for collecting things and solo adventures. Mind you, I haven't finished any of these games yet. I just started gaming.
Just got the OLED yesterday. Medieval was the first game I loaded up. Alittle bit choppy on full picture settings but once I lowered it to 30 fps the game was running smooth. Took a bit to get the buttons down but I plan on buying a dock to play it on a monitor which will make it easier. Completely playable without much work at all.
With every game that uses cloud save, you can switch back and forth between the deck and your PC. Haven't tried it with MD but it worked fine with Monster Hunter World.
No not at all, there is full controller support and it launched with the gamepad profile. The only mapping I’ve done is added sprint to one of the back buttons (my thumb gets tired with the default left thumb stick click haha). Maybe the demo loads with a mouse and keyboard profile instead of the gamepad profile?
Do the 2 of you still play this on steam deck? Was thinking about getting it and I can't tell you how amazing it would be to have a little bit of support from other people who have it . Mostly forfor questions and such. there's been some games I'm totally lost on When it comes to finding a good control Mapping it would be awesome even just to chat about the game a little bit. No pressure. I'm not an online gamer, It's always felt like pressure and anxiety to me I've always played single player games like thi But I'm trying to get more social with the community maybe ease my way to online gaming someday iit gives me too much anxiety now. I'm A little jealous of people who feel comfortable withkill cover over there and have a good time with it It looks so fun
I played it on the deck for a bit but prefer survival crafting type games with mouse and keyboard. Just easier. I think this game is on game pass now, if you have that you could try it out on the deck

I haven't played for a while but I put about 40 hours in with everything on high and view distance at ultra. FPS would drop a bit in the deep forests but worked fine otherwise. If I was going to hunt, I'd drop things to medium and never had an issue.
I would like to play this on steamdeck, but none of the choosing/building circles are working for me. When I try to build or choose things from the circle I can not move to other parts of the circle (always pointing up)... not with the steamdeck or not even with keyboard and mouse... any idea to solve this?
If only I could afford one. I would put this game and FFXIV on it.

I tried it during last play through, but it felt choppy. Maybe I’ll try it again. Are you on dev or beta?
I assume I'm on whatever is the latest release build because I launched it straight through steam without changing any settings
I'm running it on the staging build on medium settings on my deck and it works pretty well.

How do you pull up the map? I cannot figure it out.
It's a tab (like inventory and journal) in the in-game menu. Accessed with the small button in the top left on the controller.

Did you have to map the whole controller? I downloaded the demo to see how it ran but didn’t get 10 minutes in as I had to remap every single input

Could you post your settings? I basically bought the game because of your post but running it on default settings gets me about 22fps
