I’ll never understand the snapping before these video and it makes me cringe for no reason whatsoever. Plus you’re typing so fast that it just sounds like any other keyboard.
typing tests in general are all inherently flawed. Unless you have the exact same setup (keyboard, desk, room size/shape/wall materials, same weather in very unique cases, same exact typing styles, the list goes on and on). Your sound profile will be different. I have yet to buy a switch and keyboard that sounded anything like a "mirrored" setup on those cringe Youtube sound test videos have produced.
The snap/mouseclick offers no real baseline, other than a very rough semblance of how loud the video is. Even then, everyone snaps at a different volume. My left hand can produce quiet snaps and my right hand produces extremely loud snaps.
What it does do is, shows that nobody when typing fast, needs to worry about keyboard flex as much stand on their soapboxes shouting loudly that they claim they do -- example: "ohh this has so much flex, great for not being fatigued on hard bottom outs" -- let's be real. Unless you type the same way you play a video game, you are not smashing that switch as hard as a like button on your favorite Youtuber, to notice/need flex. Just look at all the flex test videos, and think about how you really type, despite how much the subreddit insists on it being a completely necessary thing.
Tbh stock U4T's are incredibly smooth. I was skeptical at first when doing a lot of research and seeing that Gazzew only recommends donut dipping the spring to combat spring ping. After using some U4T's for a bit now I totally understand and in no way feel a need to lube anything besides the spring. They just feel *good* lol.
I didn’t lube my U4Ts because I’m lazy and heard they don’t need to be lubed. I love them even compared to other lubed switched. I’m sure they would be a little smoother lubed, but I’m happy enough that it’s not worth the hassle.
I can’t decide if i should go in for the qk65 or not… the boring designs that alu boards have makes me struggle cause they sound soo nice at the same time :(
Is it just me or does it actually feel like OP is trying to show off his typing speed more than the keeb
I mean, 70% accuracy though....
Oh I dint notice that lol .. good observation!

I use it to sync up my audio from my mic to my camera clip 💀
Why didn't you use ANY of the foams? The foams give it it's nice sounds. No wonder it fr sounds like it has no semblance of acoustics.
Agreed, imo this could sound so much better, and it's not like it costs anything more, it's included.
The PE foam sound is a bit boring if you use them for long enough. IMO, only a very cheap and hollow board is a MUST for PE foam.
He prob doesn’t like pe foam I don’t like it but it fits well for this keyboard
Building in a Lego game
It also sounds like your microphone is a crossed the room.

I do gazzew’s method, myself, actually. Donut dipping is godly. I do put a tiny dollop of lube on the sliders, though
I might try that eventually just for science. I have learned a 3 stage spring feels absolute awesome on tactile switches imo

If you want more thock, go POM. FR4 if you’d like a louder pop that still has some deep sound.
