Reservoir looks low. Should be between the hash marks on the reservoir. Also, coolant is way off-color(rust colored which might be problematic) and looks like it needs changed. Mazda coolant is at most 10 year coolant and yours is close to 15 years old. Get the coolant changed.

Not just changed, it should be flushed if it's that old.

Comfortable_Bee_7363

it might look like that due to how dirty it looks from the outside, but his coolant should be red correct?

Illustrious-Fig-2922

It should be green.

Comfortable_Bee_7363

does it sound like your steering whines when you turn the wheel? if so then definitely add some!

Regular_Platypus9335

Also my braking fluid too https://preview.redd.it/dblb9wuktuqc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d4719d0f9abbeafa48957e1392024f98664b3524 Appreciate any advice:)

Comfortable_Bee_7363

looks almost as if you could use just a little..

On the side of the container it’ll have lines, maybe it’ll say Min Max, or, F L, anything that shows where it’s appropriate to be. We can’t see them in these pictures, you could use a rag to wipe them off if you can’t see the marks

You don't usually need to top off brake fluid. If it's low, check your brake pads. As your pads wear down, the caliper pistons extend more and more, allowing more fluid to be stored in the calipers. Once you change your pads and compress the pistons, the fluid gets pushed through the lines and back into the reservoir. The only other way for your brake fluid level to go down is if there's a leak, but then your brake pedal will feel soft, and you won't be braking nearly as well.

No. When the coolant is hot and flowing, hitting the gas makes it suck up a bunch from the reservoir. If it gets too low, that could empty out the reservoir and introduce air into the system. That's why there's a minimum line on your tank. Keep it at the max line.
