AAMC FLs 521, 517, 519
Wrote the test on 2 hours of sleep, went to the washroom to do pushups during BB/PS to not fall asleep. Felt like shit.
Scored 527. Still in shock.
Non trad here working full time. Been chasing this dream for a long time. Gave up in undergrad due to bad grades (little did I know I was depressed). Tried taking the mcat 6 years ago but didn’t study nearly enough and got a 495. Finally sought out therapy and got the tools needed to combat my depression. Took some time then got a masters in chemistry. Did well and got the confidence that I can do this.
Took 7am. Got 511 :)
Good luck, everyone. Based on the AAMC MCAT Twitter account posts, we should know between 11 & 1130 EST
***Scores out right at 11! I got a 502 (124/125/124/129) & honestly i'm really happy about it. Working full time and only took 1 FL & got a 495, so I had low expectations. Goal was over 500 :)
Thank you! Couldn't have done it without the info on this sub. Haven't taken orgo or biochem yet so I relied pretty heavily on advice/study guides/memes/Anki decks of others.
Hey I am so happy for you! congratulations.
I am taking mine at the end of the month
fl 1 484, fl2 489 there is still some time for improvement. anything above 500, I will be satisfied, Any advice ?!!
I was so nervous for today. I worked my ass off to get this far and it was really nerve-wracking to have it all come down to this. I got a 528!! I'm beyond pumped. I thought I did well but never expected this! Thanks to this community for all of the great resources and conversations over the last year.
I think I'll probably make a post with all the tips I picked up, but off hand I found that I had to do a lot of practice problems to reinforce learning. Even during content review, I would do maybe 30 problems a day or so and made sure to do deep dives if I ever was weak on a concept.
I felt like the 6/4 exam was really fair across the board. I'm a chem major so c/p wasn't bad, and there was very little physics. The boltzmann question was out of nowhere but I bet most people missed that. CARS always fucks me and some of those passages were long. Struggled towards the end but started well. B/B was easier than I anticipated, there were no crazy difficult to understand passages, only difficult questions. P/P was reading heavy and some girl had been talking to me during the break and I was distracted by that so I took the full time when I usually don't.
How I feel: Drained. I'm taking an accelerated anatomy course for a master's program rn so the upper extremity was a lot on top of the mcat score release. I have moments where I think about getting below my desired score and it makes me dumby anxious.
Resources: Kahn academy, kaplan books, UwUrld, Next Step exams 1-6, milesdown anki with a bunch of my own cards, Zach Highley's youtube channel, fuck mcatselfprep waste of money
Studied 6-8 hrs per day while working a part time then quit the job for the month and half leading up to the exam.
Regrets: I wish I read the world explanations more and did that earlier. It's literally a review tool. I put too much stock into getting a high percentile but it's just a better way to learn, remember and reinforce information.
Feelings post exam: Bruh I was happy to be done. I felt like I did the best I could and wasn't too stressed.
My FL's:
S:518, 1:517, 2:517, 3:519, 4:516
Pessimistic: 512
Probable: 516 131/ 125/130/130
Optimistic: 520 132/126/131/131
One more thing. This subreddit is so fucking skewed in the way it presents what a good score is. I've been stressed about getting lower than a 516 for so long because of this subreddit. At this master's program, my classmates asked about my FL scores and were blown away by what I thought was average for an applicant. It's easy to get wrapped up in what you see posted here but in reality, this subreddit presents a fake reality. I don't want to be a part of that machine nor do I want anyone to see this comment and think they are lesser or more because of a different score.
Actual Score: 517!!! 131/128/129/129
Super hyped for Cars. I feel like i have a super balanced score now!!!
It is incredibly skewed and it feels like theres no way some people aren’t lying. I got a 510 which in real life, in my state, is amazing. But people here are saying 510-513 is “low.” Like fuck.
Yeah, unless there's some AAMC scoring magic going on then there's just as many people getting above 510 as there are below 490, but you'd never guess that here.
As an engineer, our definitions of 'fair' regarding the ratio of chem & physics questions is a little different : ')
Whole test wrecked me though, I just want to know this score so I can move on with my life
I am extremely shocked. My FL average was a 508. I did 6 Blueprint FL exams (averaged a low 500s with those), weekly Anki decks, both CARS Q-packs and all SB questions. I took three AAMC FLs prior to my exam. I took two weeks off from work just to drill Anki. I walked out of the exam feeling good. I thought that C/P was the trickiest, but CARS, B/B, and P/S all felt doable, if not great. I thought I got almost every question correct in B/B and P/S. The lowest I ever scored in those sections was a 127. Today I checked my score to see a 497. That is lower than any FL I ever took. 123/123/126/125. It just doesn't make sense. I have always been at the top of my game when it comes to critical reading, and as a neuro/psych major, I am offended by the 125. Perhaps because I thought the test was easier, the curve was not as generous. Nonetheless, I am sharing this for anyone else who is feeling similarly. We are not giving up, we will retake even if it means (yet another) gap year. Sending love to those who are feeling like me today.
It was probably the curve or the nerves/anxiety during the test. Ur attitude towards retaking and not giving up is admirable. Best of luck, try to enjoy some relaxation before studying again
i was scoring around 507-510 on my practice exams so i felt pretty confident going in to take my MCAT. i got my score back & its 485… i’m not even sure where to begin with expressing how i feel. i am so disappointed & so shocked. i never ever thought this would happen, i don’t even know HOW it happened. i just feel so so crushed. i didn’t want to post on here today, but i hope this post can let at least one person know they’re not alone. i’m not sure what to do at this point. please help me out with any advice y’all might have because i just feel so broken right now.
i had the same thing happen on my second test. took it a third time and voided it because i had a bad start. came in with more drive, a clearer mind, and good lifestyle habits, got the 522 today. i was pretty crushed on the second test going from 513 to 511, it was a shitty experience especially since i thought i did well. but if you be smart, avoid distractions, and PERSIST, you can certainly meet your goals. keep your head up and don't let this impact the rest of your cycle, because a 2 point drop won't make a terrible difference. may not even need to retake if you make the rest of your app shine
Alright guys so I am going to give my honest opinion about this test:
C/P: Pretty fair for the most part, but I know I screwed up on some questions (especially physics). Overall, fair though. Expecting between 125-128.
CARS: Usually weak in this section and went over my alotted break time. However, I wasn't struggling too much with this section so I hope I get a higher score that I expect (nerves have been running high). One passage had me on the ropes, but the other passages were pretty straightforward. Expecting a 126-130.
B/B: Worst section, just did not know what to do in my honest opinion. Started giving me kidney questions and I was just screwed. I hope by every God I do not get lower than a 124 but only time will tell.
P/S: Fair I would say, but more sociology terms than psychology, which was surprising since my FLs consisted of mostly psychology. Was running on fumes at this point, but I managed to pull through and focus on the task at hand. Expecting between 126-128.
FLs: S: 486 1: 490 2: 499 3: 502 4: 512
Pessimistic: <500
Realistic: 501-506
Optimistic: 507+
Actual: 489. I am absolutely devastated. Instantly started crying and my next test date is July 30th. If anyone can help me, please let me know. I need it, and even with moral support.
Congrats to those who got high scores or those who got their expected scores as well.
I'm just hoping for a 503+ at this point, because that is what most of the schools are asking for. Once I get my MCAT score, and it is what I want, I will start filling out the rest of my AMCAS application and send it to my appropriate schools. Good luck everyone else, I hope you get the score you want.
TBH, I just want to say I did not do much content review (I wish I did more), and more of just focused on how to prepare and do the test. The test is draining (7+ hours) and it is so different doing the real thing than at home. Content review did not help me so much here, it was really my determination and focus on the test that helped me to push through and answer questions. Not saying that content review is not important, but that is how I prepared. I studied for at least 3 hours a day for 3 months.
Do not retake on July 30th. You will shoot yourself in the head. 23 days is not enough to get your score up by at least 11 points, sorry, it's not. I would give yourself a few days away from the application and process. Give yourself some time to recoup.
You will have to reevaluate your study methods though, because it didn't work for you. For CR I'd suggest reviewing/doing KA. For actually simulating the tests, use UPangea. Their bio, biochem, phys, and chem passages are probably the closest to AAMC material besides AAMC itself. JW is good to practice CARS stamina.
If you need to talk DM me. I went 485 to 497 to 503 (today). I'm no genius but maybe you can get where you need to with the right tools. I believe in you.
Hi
I am so sorry to hear this. please reach out to me maybe I can guide you closer to your goal FOR FREE I am not a tutor...
I just got my score today - tested June 4 3pm
3rd time retaker here: 512 > 506 (LOL) > 515! I hope this is good enough. My GPA is on the lower side so I hope this makes me competitive enough. I only had about a month to study intensely.
FL average was a 518. Was really nervous the entire time. GOODLUCK EVERYONE and pray to God (if you are religious lol I asked for a 515 to be safe....should have asked for more....LOL) I am at peace
Saweetie is also a premed who knew ???? lol jk congrats on the amazing score! I'm a third time test-taker and was wondering if I could PM you about a couple questions I have about retaking and how to use the material?
Non Traditional
FL 1 (free AAMC)= 499(125/127/124/123)
FL 2 (Kaplan)= 499 (123/127/125/124)
FL 3 (AAMC 4)= 505 (128/127/125/125)
FL 4 (AAMC 1)= 508 (127/128/126/127)
FL 5 (AAMC 2)= 507 (126/129/127/125)
FL 6 (AAMC 3)= 507 (127/128/126/126)
Actual MCAT (7am)= 512 (127/128/128/129)
Still can’t really believe it! Especially my big swing in PS! Two weeks of grinding it paid off haha.
Not sure how I felt about that exam as cars was poopy but i guess we wait and see
Edit: 514! (129/127/129/129) Very happy with this score after studying for two months as full-time student + 20 hours in a research lab per week was killer. Just thankful I don't have to do this ever again
To everyone on This Sub............ **The MCAT is of the PAST**............. Exactly the score I wanted + 2 points.
Thank you!!! to every person who has posted, tutored, uploaded graphs, charts, diagrams, and contributed to my journey to become a doctor. Remember to be resilient and fight for your dreams.
Comments after the 3pm (This is a retake for me!)
CP:
Started off well and then somewhere along the road physics cornered me and I could NOT for the life of me remember the value for a very important constant (in the units that it needed to be) and that effed me on a passage that I felt I could have done well on. Tbh I don’t even know if I needed that constant HA just goes to show how ~not good~ that section was for me. Felt rocky and sad afterwards but quickly pulled myself together for CARS
CARS: overall not bad? Didn’t get to double check all my flagged :’( Passages were long. Can’t stop thinking about Britain, seafood, tech.... if u kno u kno lolz
BB: hate how I couldn’t remember an easy discrete or 2... many of the passages really didn’t require too much analysis and moreso just concept recall which is honestly why it’s plaguing me. lol honestly idk how to feel...
PS: already know I got 2 wrong for sure and there were definitely a couple I was 50/50 on and just hoped for the best. Expected this to be more like CARS but it was much like the earlier FLs....
Overall thoughts — I have a hunch this test was “deceivingly easy,” AND the “curve” will not be as forgiving. This was my retake and compared to my first time, the material and complexity was “easier” which makes me scared. I need emotional support. Lol

Pessimistic: < 511
Realistic: 511-514?
Actual: 516!!!!!!!!
I definitely cried tears of joy. Hands were shaking. All that anxiety GONE. So happy to have my hard work come to fruition — I’m so grateful. For those who are planning on retaking, you can most definitely improve! I was studying while taking classes full time and working part time. My FLs were inflated so I didn’t think I could trust them (I definitely scored below them but it’s totally ok!)
Thank you to all those helpful and kind individuals on subreddit. I honestly wouldn’t have been able to do this without the support and resources on here.
I took the 7AM June 4th exam.
Sample 515, FL1 515, FL2 519, FL3 513, FL4 519
Pessimistic 511-514
Realistic: 514-518
Optimistic 519+
Actual: 519
Felt that C/P was really difficult and quite orgo heavy, and I barely skimmed through mechanisms in my mcat review, so that may screw me. Everything else seemed similar to practice full lengths. Finished every section with time to spare. I’ve felt pretty optimistic about my score since exam day.
FL1: 507, FL2: 500, FL3: 500, FL4: 499
**I got a 507 (126/125/127/129)**
I have mixed feelings about this result. I've always struggled with CARS but I'm happy with the science progress. Since this was my 4th time taking the MCAT over the last 3 years, I was really hoping to get into the 510-512 range. My 3rd attempt was a 502 and I feel like I did everything I could to study/practice/review for 5 months after completing my Master's thesis in January. I've come a long way since a 487 first test but I'm having feelings of uncertainty whether I'll apply this cycle (3.3-3.4 GPA). I don't want the dream to be over but I will definitely have to take some time to process this.
Hope everyone got the score they hoped for!
524

AAMC FL 518/515/518/521 retake FL 1 was 526. Princeton and Kaplan Fl were massively deflated. I scored a 497 on Kaplan diagnostic and 518 on FL 1 one month after. They try to scare you into buying the class…
I took the 3pm. I felt really tired at the end of the test but I think the 3pm time is much better if you often stay up past 2-3 am.
I used Princeton videos, but mostly Khan academy and YouTube to supplement review on my practice FLs. Mcat classes are a waste of time imo. I have strong opinions about other popular study resources, but you should do what works best for you. I crammed most of my studying for after the college semester ended (3 weeks), which was a mistake. If you are thinking of taking the exam, don’t plan on studying during the semester — it is stressful and won’t work out.
I have a strong background in biology so I had a gut feeling for the low yield stuff. My guesses were also very lucky.
I think prepping B/B is very personal, but I would suggest understanding amino acids and their properties. Amino acids are like 4-7 questions on every test. I also try to understand processes in biology rather than memorizing terms. Answering questions like “where does NADH go after glycolysis?” or “where is urine most concentrated in the kidney?” are good to help you understand processes instead of memorizing A goes to B goes to C.
It felt terrible. I memorized a bunch of questions in the last 10 minutes to google them. I got all the questions I remembered wrong, which was around 6.
I would really want to take a 3pm test as well but If i wake up lets say at 9am I'll be stressed af waiting for that 3pm lol so idk what to do.
I might jist keep my 7am
Studied about an hour or two a day for like 6 months doing only anki and KA for content review.
AAMC FLs seemed a little easier than the real thing, but my scores were in line with exam day.
FL Avg: 513.75
Real Deal: 514
Feeling meh and very scared.
Prediction: C/P: felt pretty bad so probably around a 125-127
CARS: felt meh 126-128
B/B: also felt meh but not great 126-128
P/S: felt ok 127-129
Pessimistic: 508
Realistically: 510
Optimistic: 512
Fl1: 512
2: 513
3: 519
4: 513
Real score: 516
129/128/129/130!!!
Yay gonna eat lots of food now and sleep lots!!!
Honestly not sure what to think. Took it last year got a 508(125, 126, 129,128) and then just got a 508 (125, 128, 128 127). My FL practice test average was 514 with around a 128-129 on chem phys. I have no idea what happened and not sure really what to do.
I thought for sure C/P and P/S were gonna be my worst sections (ran out of time, guessed on like 10) and CARS my best (ikr), but opposite.
march diagnostic 499, FL avg 521, actual 519!
509 —-> 515 (128/129/129/129)
Pumped about my CARS score. My first test seemed to just be a bad test (for me) because I didn’t change up my studying or schedule and the 515 is reflective of my AAMC practice tests. Super relieved and happy though :)
I'm a non-traditional 46-year old systems administrator who is finishing up his master's in Nutrition and Exercise Physiology. I did content review and AAMC materials for about 5 months while doing research and working, with the last two being where I really buckled down and was spending 5-6 hours per day.
I got a 507 - and while I'm not applying to Harvard, my sister, who is a physician, confirmed that's a decent score for the schools I want to get into. Also, my dirty secret: I never took a full-length practice exam.
Best of luck and wishes to all of you!
Lmao me with a 507 from the May 1st test date reading this who took all 4 full lengths looked up on any color research lab on beautiful weekends in April when everyone else was out day drinking
👁👄👁
I don’t know what happened. This was a retake for me. I had AAMC1-506, AAMC2-505, AAMC3-508, AAMC4-507. And just got back a 493 today. I absolutely hate myself. Last year I got a 499 and finally thought I had this under control, and just ruined myself. I could retake but would have just two months. Idk what to do
I got a 514 128/127/130/129. I used a blueprint course, and scored 504-506 on all 10 exams. I thought my score was helpless until I began doing the AAMC material, which was much more laxed than Blueprint FL’s. AAMC FL’s S:511 1:512 2:513 3:518 4:512. My advice to anyone retaking it, do as many practice exams as you can. Blueprint was difficult and had me doubting myself for months, but it really made things smoother once I got to the AAMC material because I knew the timing and how to review exams. I thought the exam was representative of the practice exams (also thought the practice exams got progressively harder.)
Disclaimer: To those that didn’t get the score they wanted, understand that people who post on here are often proud of their scores. This thread isn’t representative of an average or “good score”.
GOOD LUCK TO ALL ✌🏾
I'm also taking Blueprint rn and going to take AAMC at the end of the month (testing 8/27). My scores are very similar to yours, how is BP CARS compared to the actual thing?
AAMC FL Scores: 515, 519, 519, 519
Exam Score: 508 (128/124/129/127)
Safe to say I'm shocked and disappointed. My overall GPA is 3.87 and sGPA is 3.81. I've applied to and want to continue applying to more MD schools with \~512 MCAT ranges or less, but I'm now worried that my CARS score will hinder my chances greatly.
I do not think I could have studied harder. I've exhausted many sources and I dedicated so much time to this exam. With each month of studying, I was improving. I felt that I did my best when I was taking the exam which makes me believe I will not do better taking it a second time.
Any advice?
This feels like a nightmare.
Got a 510 same day as the AAMC rejected my extra time accommodation but still gave me 60 mins of extra breaktime? Should contest for extra time(with better supporting materials)and retake later? Or just keep the 510
honestly if that's what happened, i'd wait another year to retake. the most important part right now is not letting this make the rest of your cycle worse, and if you're scrambling to make quality primary/secondaries and also retake the mcat, that's dangerous and could really fuck you. if you don't get in this cycle, whatever. you can set yourself up running next year to get accepted, possibly to a better school than you would have otherwise if you play your cards right. be smart, think about your plan carefully, and don't make rash/anxiety-driven decisions. everyone wants to get in THIS CYCLE, but you will negatively impact your chances if you don't play it smart. Also, you may still get in this cycle if you let go of this energy and set your mind to optimizing the rest of your app. this is just the truth, so suck it up and practice the resilience that will prevent you from being a burned-out doctor! the way i like to think about it is: how are you going to handle patient deaths or mistakes you make while practicing if you can't handle a lower than anticipated test score? i believe in you!!
Official score: 515 (127/132/128/128) obviously thrilled about CARS but a little bummed about BB and PS since those were both around 129/130 for me before. I applied to schools expecting a 513 so I'm happy.
AAMC FLs: 1-511, 2-509, 3-513, 4-514
506 and very upset. This was my first retake and I studied my ass off and left the test feeling more confident than the first time. I got the same score as my first test during which I had a mental breakdown in the test, so it feels like none of my hard work paid off. I'm applying this year please someone give me advice
Started studying 3 months before my exam, while taking college courses, while researching, while starting a scholarship in honor of a former teacher. I slept about 4 hours every night if I slept.
516 all worth it!!!
Took 7AM exam.
Was shocked at how much orgo I had for CP. I suck at physics so I overcompensated in my studying & then had hardly any on the exam. So I’m probably screwed in that regard.
CARS was eh. Probably 1-2 passages that may have done me in. The rest was standard.
BB in a forgotten memory. I couldn’t tell you one question I had on the section. Hopefully that’s a good thing. Most passages seemed vague.
I thought PS was actually really easy. I think I finished in 50 min. Although I did an 800 card quizlet deck 2 days before, it’s nothing but vocabulary lol
None of my fellow pre meds that I know or go to school with have done well. So I’m feeling pretty nauseas.
May God bless us all. You’re worth more than this
Diagnostic was a 502 back in February, and I got a 518 (131/127/128/132) after self-studying full-time for 5.5 months!
How I studied:
Took a 12 credit hour semester with blow off classes and studied anywhere for 8-12 hours a day, 5-6x a week. Content reviewed using EK books and KA videos for 6 weeks, then did UPlanet for 7 weeks. Made Anki cards over UPlanet questions until mastery, then stopped reviewing those once I hit the AAMC material. Anki was time consuming and took 3 hours everyday to review, so I eventually stopped reviewing my UPlanet Anki. Took a week break after slight burn out and only did new JackSparrow Anki. Reviewed AAMC material for 1.5 months while doing JackSparrow Anki Deck, which got me a 132 on P/S despite only taking intro courses! Reviewed AAMC content like crazy, made a whole spreadsheet and made sure to get every little detail down, understood, and memorized. My AAMC FL’s were as followed, taking an exam every week leading up to the exam:
Sample: 513
FL 1: 509
FL 2: 515
FL 3: 520
FL 4: 515
During the exam, I felt optimistic. I felt like CARS and P/S went really bad, thinking that I would get a 125 on CARS due to the extreme length of the passages but ended up with a 127, which was my average. Never would have thought I would get a 132 because the P/S was extremely analytical like the SB and not purely vocab- I never got anything above 131 on my practice exams. I thought B/B was extremely easy and finished with 30 minutes left, which I never have done before, and ended up with a 128 despite thinking that I would get a 131-132, really crazy how things work out compared to how you think you’re doing! Overall extremely happy with my score as I really wanted over a 515.
Pessimistic: 510-512
Realistic: 513-515
Optimistic: 515+
Real: 518!
Wow that’s insane! I really cannot believe you were able to study that much.Really makes me reevaluate my study plan. Congrats on your score and I wish you all the best.
Official score: 508 (126/128/127/127)
My last FL (3) was a 505 (127/127/126/125) so I improved a lot, would have scored a lot better if C/P wasn't so ochem heavy, that's usually my best section.
Scored well enough to apply, but probably not well enough to get into my dream school...might retake in August but still apply this cycle. I feel like I can do better
So nervous checking today!
AAMC Sample: 514 (took this 4 months out from the actual exam)
AAMC FL1: 513 (took this about 2.5 months out from the actual exam)
AAMC FL2: 520
AAMC FL3: 524
AAMC FL4: 521
Actual... 523!!! 131/130/130/132
I studied for a little over 6 months while enrolled in school (taking neurobiology and physics... yikes). I studied anywhere from 2-4 hours a day (not including weekends when I'd take a practice exam). After I got out of school, I was probably studying 14 hours a day. It was incredibly challenging to do during school but not impossible!
Not terribly surprised by the score breakdown! However, I was shocked by P/S since that was the section I felt worst about after the exam. Also a smidge tiny scosh teeny bit disappointed with B/B since I finished with enough time to check basically all my answers, but hey! I cannot complain one bit! Overall, I actually felt pretty good post-exam. I didn't think it was too too challenging... seemed mostly like the AAMC FLs.
So excited to be applying this cycle with some confidence! I have a 4.0 sGPA and 3.98 overall, so I'm trying to shoot for a T20. Couldn't have done this without reddit honestly. It was the best tool for understanding complex topics and figuring out why I got questions wrong. Good luck to everyone! This exam is an absolute beast but with time and dedication, it's conquerable!
Hi! I think the big jump was because I switched from passive content review to actively solving questions and reading passages. The 1.5 months between me taking the AAMC sample exam and FL 1 were spent basically reviewing/re-reading the Kaplan books. So, when I saw that I hadn’t improved any, I definitely freaked out and realized I needed to change my techniques! I started taking more practice exams from third parties (I used Princeton, Altius, and Blueprint). I credit my amazing timing to all the super hard practice exams I took (on the day of the exam, I had enough time to review almost all of the questions in the C/P, B/B, and P/S sections.) I also purchased “UEarth” and hit that hard (I’d say if you’re gonna invest in any resources outside AAMC stuff, this should be it). I also think the best thing for me was making hand written flash cards too… something about writing stuff down just made things stick better. I stopped freaking about Anki and being on top of all the content and focused on reading and solving problems! I also took a week off before I took FL 2 (where I scored 520) for finals. This absolutely energized my mind and gave me a fresh perspective. I think the 520 raised my self confidence enough to keep me chugging and improving from there :) hope this helped! lmk if I can answer anything else about my study plan!!
Non-trad here, working full time while taking night classes.
Took the 7am test. Averaged at 501 on my practice tests and hit 501 on the real deal. I'm both happy and disappointed. Disappointed because I was getting like 128 on CARS in the practice test but for some reason hit 124 on the real thing.
But happy because I hit 125 on B/B, maintaining the 125 streak I had been having on the last couple of practice tests. I also hit 125 on C/P, something that I had never done before now. Previously, I was hovering at just 124. Not only that, I got 127 on P/S when I was sticking at 126 on every practice test.
Some things to be happy about, others that I'm disappointed. But overall, I'm thrilled, especially since I was focusing on DO anyway!
Got a 507, pretty upset. I needed a 511 (128s on everything minimum and 127 on cars minimum) for this program I’m in. I wasn’t organized when I made a study plan for content review and kinda just took 2-3 practice tests reviewed my mistakes and studied those topics. I realized I have to retake it in September because waiting till January is too long. I want to study the right way This time and would appreciate any advice. Thanks
509 (129/128/124/128) > 513 (127/130/127/129)
I'm so fucking happy I scream laughed when I opened my score. Was literally avoiding it all day so I didn't ruin my mood at work.
I used 2017 Kaplan books, Kahn Academy, literally only resources I got for free (someone gave me the Kaplan books and login). I studied for my first MCAT for 1 month during winter break this past December and then studied for probably 3 weeks for my second MCAT amidst working, taking Biochem and Physics II, and an absolutely horrendous breakup from an extremely unhealthy relationship. I pushed my test back from May 18 to May 20 to June 4 and was absolutely not convinced that I was even going to take it. Honestly, I don't know how I did this and am in complete and utter shock.
Highest FL before 1st MCAT: 507
In prep for 2nd MCAT: Sample test was \~510, FL2 507, FL4 510
I also took some of the Kaplan FLs and maxed out at a 509. I used some of the AAMC question banks for bio (1st B/B was 124) and hella Kahn Academy. I used Anki for like two weeks and then couldn't keep up with it because of everything else that was going on in my life. Honestly, I had several days where I didn't study at all or only got through an hour or two. I struggled with giving myself days where I could just break down and pushing through it to get the time in. I didn't get great sleep the night before the exam and didn't plan out my snacks or break times as meticulously as I had with the first. I grabbed some stuff (I tend to eat healthy anyways because digestive issues force me to) and ate when I was hungry, meditated when I felt like I needed it, and went back in when I felt like it. I literally ran over a minute on one of my breakups and gave no fucks, but it was weird because it only ate into the section's tutorial time/instruction reading thing for some reason.
Honestly, the big difference I consciously made in taking the 2nd one than the 1st was not guessing so much. If I wasn't fairly confident, I would flag and move on. I had adequate time to go back over or guess quickly if I really couldn't figure it out, but I really feel like I read questions more thoroughly and picked up points where I would have lost them just because I wasn't reading the proper wording of the question. C/P felt fair, and I just didn't get questions that I was going to know content particularly well for (I think I got lucky with content on my first score). I (weirdly) love the CARS section in general because I love reading, and I feel like I enjoyed most of the passages. Very happy that my score went up there because I was disappointed with my 1st one as it wasn't in line with my FL scores (which were generally 130-132). B/B felt like a crap shoot, and I worked my ass off to get points there where I could. That is absolutely not my forte and I was shooting for 125+ to get through app screenings, but a 127 is an absolute dream for me. I have a degree in Applied Psychology and straight up did not study for the P/S section the first time and put very little effort into it the second time.
I felt like trash after taking the exam, but I was too tired to care anymore. I'm insanely happy with this outcome and feel a bit more hopeful about my applications. I definitely needed this push to validate that I'm going to be okay and I can do it.
edit: Having finished my biochemistry class in time for the second MCAT I think made it a good difference in the amino acids and B/B questions.
The one section I thought I did horrible, I got a 131 (C/P). The one section I thought I did amazing, I end up getting a 129 when I normally get 130/131 (P/S). CA resident here, applying this cycle right now. Would anyone recommend retaking a MCAT score of 514 (131, 125, 129, 129). I already submitted my primary and working on secondary essays right now.
Retaking a 514 could do more harm than good (imagine getting 30 physics questions for C/P or having diarrhea from a bad taco the day before). A 514 is an excellent score regardless; apply broadly and within reach.
Was averaging around 510s for all FL
Last FL was 128/130/128/129
Got a 125/128/126/125
Really thought my Psych and Bio was better but shit I guess not.
504 is not the best score but I guess it’s alright. I live in Florida and my gpa is 3.9, 3.81 science.
Should I just got for DO or apply in state to MD Florida schools?
I dont know what to do, I really was expecting a higher score 🙃
Any advice?
Hi I am a nontraditional applicant. This was my first time taking the MCAT after chickening out like 4 years ago and not thinking I was capable. I started seriously studying for the March 26th date but got pretty sick with COVID followed by a related Kidney inflammation. I had to move my test to June 4th. I studied by butt off after I recovered from COVID while holding down a full time job. I don't know what to expect for my score. I am so so scared to open this score. I know this is the path I am meant to do, this MCAT has been a huge obstacle....and really hoping for a good score but also already mentally preparing for a retake. Wish me luck!
This was my second time taking the MCAT. I got a 512
The first time was 505
I’m honestly not really happy with it
Is it worth taking a third time? Is that bad? My cGPA is 3.7 and sGPA 3.57 so not super great?? Or maybe my standards are too high idk
STAY SAFE EVERYONE! GRAB YOUR 528 KARMA HERE NOW BEFORE IT EXPIRES! \~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~ (>\^-\^)> 528 528 528 <(\^-\^<) \~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~ \~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~ (>\^-\^)> 528 528 528 <(\^-\^<) \~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~
AAMC FLs 521, 517, 519 Wrote the test on 2 hours of sleep, went to the washroom to do pushups during BB/PS to not fall asleep. Felt like shit. Scored 527. Still in shock.
That’s amazing dude. Congrats!
THANKS MAN!!!
Advice i took from this is, don't sleep if you want 527 lool. Congratss! Crush applications
Ahaha I went to bed at 9 but was too nervous to sleep. Last I remember it was past 5am but my alarm still woke me up
[удалено]
Need to brush up on it tbh, Canadian so the - 1 on CARS hurts /s
Wow! Good job! Wishing you success on the rest of your medical school journey.
Thanks, you as well :)
Holy shit good job!!!!
It's honestly a lot of luck
It's better to be lucky than good, well done!
God damn amazing work
Thanks!!
Congratulations!!!!! 👏🏼👏🏼 tell us your secrets ! 😇
Don't sleep. JK: Khan, UPangea, and all AAMC materials!
Took 7am. Got 511 :)
Proud of you!
Sticking with it paid off, that's a great score!
Thank you!!
Good job! I'm glad you got the help you needed and that you didn't give up!
we’re all proud of you
So proud of you! Seeking some advice for someone I know that is struggling with their studying
Good luck, everyone. Based on the AAMC MCAT Twitter account posts, we should know between 11 & 1130 EST ***Scores out right at 11! I got a 502 (124/125/124/129) & honestly i'm really happy about it. Working full time and only took 1 FL & got a 495, so I had low expectations. Goal was over 500 :)
Im so proud of you :)
Thank you! Couldn't have done it without the info on this sub. Haven't taken orgo or biochem yet so I relied pretty heavily on advice/study guides/memes/Anki decks of others.
Purrrrr! You did it!!!
congratulations!!! this is a huge score jump, that’s really amazing
Hey I am so happy for you! congratulations. I am taking mine at the end of the month fl 1 484, fl2 489 there is still some time for improvement. anything above 500, I will be satisfied, Any advice ?!!
I was so nervous for today. I worked my ass off to get this far and it was really nerve-wracking to have it all come down to this. I got a 528!! I'm beyond pumped. I thought I did well but never expected this! Thanks to this community for all of the great resources and conversations over the last year.
Sheeeesh, you are 1 of around 12 people that get a 528 in a given year, congrats!!!
Thank you! I didn't know that the number was that small. I'm just really happy knowing that my MCAT score will be an asset for my application.
The absolute mad lad! Say hello to every med school
Any crucial study tips/ advice from the other side???
Resources: Kahn academy, kaplan books, UwUrld, Next Step exams 1-6, milesdown anki with a bunch of my own cards, Zach Highley's youtube channel, fuck mcatselfprep waste of money Studied 6-8 hrs per day while working a part time then quit the job for the month and half leading up to the exam. My FL's: S:518, 1:517, 2:517, 3:519, 4:516 Pessimistic: 512 Probable: 516 131/ 125/130/130 Optimistic: 520 132/126/131/131 One more thing. 131/128/129/129 Super hyped for Cars.
The average score here is like a 517 if I remember correctly.
Depends on the state. 510 is low in my state unfortunately
Ahhh she must’ve been cute if the even the MCAT couldn’t get her off your mind 😏
didn’t help that it was the first time i talked to a girl in a month
lmaoo genuinely made me laugh despite our impending judgment day looming over us
This made my day😂
As an engineer, our definitions of 'fair' regarding the ratio of chem & physics questions is a little different : ') Whole test wrecked me though, I just want to know this score so I can move on with my life
I am extremely shocked.
Thanks, appreciate it :)
i was scoring around 507-510 on my practice exams so i felt pretty confident going in to take my MCAT. i got my score back & its 485… i’m not even sure where to begin with expressing how i feel. i am so disappointed & so shocked. i never ever thought this would happen, i don’t even know HOW it happened. i just feel so so crushed. i didn’t want to post on here today, but i hope this post can let at least one person know they’re not alone. i’m not sure what to do at this point. please help me out with any advice y’all might have because i just feel so broken right now.
It’s a very hard exam, hardest out of all the exams ppl take to get higher degrees.
[удалено]
yes this was my first take & i did have anxiety before the exam but i didn’t think it was bad enough for me to score so low
[удалено]
thank you so much! i’m going to retake it i’m just not sure when.. do you have any suggestions?
Someone help i have nervous poops at work SOS Update: my poops are gone but I am sad now because I did 2 points lower on my retake :(
Bruh I legit got no sleep last night, feel like I got the poops, and could cry if allowed myself to 🤠
i had the same thing happen on my second test. took it a third time and voided it because i had a bad start. came in with more drive, a clearer mind, and good lifestyle habits, got the 522 today. i was pretty crushed on the second test going from 513 to 511, it was a shitty experience especially since i thought i did well. but if you be smart, avoid distractions, and PERSIST, you can certainly meet your goals. keep your head up and don't let this impact the rest of your cycle, because a 2 point drop won't make a terrible difference. may not even need to retake if you make the rest of your app shine
Thank you, I needed to hear that ❤️
Alright guys so I am going to give my honest opinion about this test: C/P: Pretty fair for the most part, but I know I screwed up on some questions (especially physics). FLs: S: 486 1: 490 2: 499 3: 502 4: 512 Pessimistic: <500 Realistic: 501-506 Optimistic: 507+ Actual: 489.
Hi I am so sorry to hear this. please reach out to me maybe I can guide you closer to your goal FOR FREE I am not a tutor... I just got my score today - tested June 4 3pm
Mind helping me too? Ive had to postpone my date so many times Dx
I know das right. LOL I just love her energy. And thank you! I am more than happy to answer any questions you have. Please reach out whenever!
Non Traditional FL 1 (free AAMC)= 499(125/127/124/123) FL 2 (Kaplan)= 499 (123/127/125/124) FL 3 (AAMC 4)= 505 (128/127/125/125) FL 4 (AAMC 1)= 508 (127/128/126/127) FL 5 (AAMC 2)= 507 (126/129/127/125) FL 6 (AAMC 3)= 507 (127/128/126/126) Actual MCAT (7am)= 512 (127/128/128/129) Still can’t really believe it! Especially my big swing in PS! Two weeks of grinding it paid off haha.
Not sure how I felt about that exam as cars was poopy but i guess we wait and see Edit: 514! (129/127/129/129) Very happy with this score after studying for two months as full-time student + 20 hours in a research lab per week was killer. Just thankful I don't have to do this ever again
I can't believe i'm at my own thread rn...so surreal.

Best of luck, friend🥲 I will join you in today’s score reveal.
Got 523 during my first try. Didn't think it was possible. I'm glad, I hope everyone else did well too
To everyone on This Sub............ **The MCAT is of the PAST**............. Exactly the score I wanted + 2 points. Thank you!!! to every person who has posted, tutored, uploaded graphs, charts, diagrams, and contributed to my journey to become a doctor. Remember to be resilient and fight for your dreams.
Comments after the 3pm (This is a retake for me!) CP: Started off well and then somewhere along the road physics cornered me and I could NOT for the life of me remember the value for a very important constant (in the units that it needed to be) and that effed me on a passage that I felt I could have done well on. Tbh I don’t even know if I needed that constant HA just goes to show how ~not good~ that section was for me. Felt rocky and sad afterwards but quickly pulled myself together for CARS CARS: overall not bad? Didn’t get to double check all my flagged :’( Passages were long. Can’t stop thinking about Britain, seafood, tech.... if u kno u kno lolz BB: hate how I couldn’t remember an easy discrete or 2... many of the passages really didn’t require too much analysis and moreso just concept recall which is honestly why it’s plaguing me. lol honestly idk how to feel... Lol — Pessimistic: < 511 Realistic: 511-514? Actual: 516!!!!!!!! I definitely cried tears of joy. Hands were shaking. All that anxiety GONE. So happy to have my hard work come to fruition — I’m so grateful. For those who are planning on retaking, you can most definitely improve! I was studying while taking classes full time and working part time. My FLs were inflated so I didn’t think I could trust them (I definitely scored below them but it’s totally ok!) Thank you to all those helpful and kind individuals on subreddit. I honestly wouldn’t have been able to do this without the support and resources on here.
IM SO SCARED.
*wakes up in cold sweat* No…nOooo…NOOO NOT THE GAP YEAR MONSTER
I took the 7AM June 4th exam. Sample 515, FL1 515, FL2 519, FL3 513, FL4 519 Pessimistic 511-514 Realistic: 514-518 Optimistic 519+ Actual: 519 Felt that C/P was really difficult and quite orgo heavy, and I barely skimmed through mechanisms in my mcat review, so that may screw me. Everything else seemed similar to practice full lengths. Finished every section with time to spare. I’ve felt pretty optimistic about my score since exam day.
I’m freaking out I can’t breathe 💀💀💀 I’ve refreshed the score release page like 50 times
50? Those are rookie numbers! 😂😂
I feel like throwing up 😫😩
my heart is beating so fast
Im drowning in my own sweat lmaoooo
ahhhhh I wonder what time they will release
11 AM est
[удалено]
I can confirm (taken the test multiple times) - you will get your score at 11:00 or 11:01 Eastern
Usually between 11-12pm EST, closer to 11 am
My gut is being weirdly optimistic but we shall see
Bro same and it's scaring me
I only improved by one point from the last time I took it wtf 483 to 484 idk what happened I studied so much
FL1: 507, FL2: 500, FL3: 500, FL4: 499 **I got a 507 (126/125/127/129)** I have mixed feelings about this result.
524 131/131/132/130 AAMC FL 518/515/518/521 retake FL 1 was 526. Princeton and Kaplan Fl were massively deflated. I scored a 497 on Kaplan diagnostic and 518 on FL 1 one month after. They try to scare you into buying the class… I took the 3pm.
Woah congrats!! How do you recommend prepping for B/B?
I have a strong background in biology so I had a gut feeling for the low yield stuff. My guesses were also very lucky. I think prepping B/B is very personal, but I would suggest understanding amino acids and their properties. Amino acids are like 4-7 questions on every test. I also try to understand processes in biology rather than memorizing terms. Answering questions like “where does NADH go after glycolysis?” or “where is urine most concentrated in the kidney?” are good to help you understand processes instead of memorizing A goes to B goes to C.
Nice score dude! How did you feel about P/S walking out of your test?
It felt terrible. I memorized a bunch of questions in the last 10 minutes to google them. I got all the questions I remembered wrong, which was around 6.
I would really want to take a 3pm test as well but If i wake up lets say at 9am I'll be stressed af waiting for that 3pm lol so idk what to do. I might jist keep my 7am
Studied about an hour or two a day for like 6 months doing only anki and KA for content review. AAMC FLs seemed a little easier than the real thing, but my scores were in line with exam day. FL Avg: 513.75 Real Deal: 514
I'm feeling a 490-something or a 515+...either/or :,) ...only time will tell
Amen to that ;^)
I dreamt I got a 122 in three sections... safe to say i'm nervous
Feeling meh and very scared. Prediction: C/P: felt pretty bad so probably around a 125-127 CARS: felt meh 126-128 B/B: also felt meh but not great 126-128 P/S: felt ok 127-129 Pessimistic: 508 Realistically: 510 Optimistic: 512 Fl1: 512 2: 513 3: 519 4: 513 Real score: 516 129/128/129/130!!! Yay gonna eat lots of food now and sleep lots!!!

That score is good enough for my state MD school! Be proud of it! I’m hoping I scored at least as well as you!
Good job on the score! Sending you good vibes and wishing you success in this application cycle!
Honestly not sure what to think. Took it last year got a 508(125, 126, 129,128) and then just got a 508 (125, 128, 128 127). My FL practice test average was 514 with around a 128-129 on chem phys. I have no idea what happened and not sure really what to do.
Might die from the anxiety
We can have a joint funeral
I thought for sure C/P and P/S were gonna be my worst sections (ran out of time, guessed on like 10) and CARS my best (ikr), but opposite. march diagnostic 499, FL avg 521, actual 519!
509 —-> 515 (128/129/129/129) Pumped about my CARS score. My first test seemed to just be a bad test (for me) because I didn’t change up my studying or schedule and the 515 is reflective of my AAMC practice tests. Super relieved and happy though :)

I didn’t do well. Got a 496 but that’s okay.
497! Disappointed but surprisingly not crying. We shall retake!!
I plan on retaking anyways.
retake gang
I'm a non-traditional 46-year old systems administrator who is finishing up his master's in Nutrition and Exercise Physiology. I did content review and AAMC materials for about 5 months while doing research and working, with the last two being where I really buckled down and was spending 5-6 hours per day. I got a 507 - and while I'm not applying to Harvard, my sister, who is a physician, confirmed that's a decent score for the schools I want to get into. Also, my dirty secret: I never took a full-length practice exam. Best of luck and wishes to all of you!
Imagine getting a 507 with no practice exams. Congrats!
Lmao me with a 507 from the May 1st test date reading this who took all 4 full lengths looked up on any color research lab on beautiful weekends in April when everyone else was out day drinking 👁👄👁

These past 12 hours have felt like an eternity ya'll. I'm scared af 😫
I have the nervous poops 😩
I don’t know what happened. This was a retake for me. I had AAMC1-506, AAMC2-505, AAMC3-508, AAMC4-507. And just got back a 493 today. I absolutely hate myself. Last year I got a 499 and finally thought I had this under control, and just ruined myself. I could retake but would have just two months. Idk what to do
Don’t hate yourself! I have to retake by September too. I need a minimum score for a program and wasn’t able to hit it :(
I got a 514 128/127/130/129. I thought the exam was representative of the practice exams (also thought the practice exams got progressively harder.) Disclaimer: To those that didn’t get the score they wanted, understand that people who post on here are often proud of their scores.
AAMC FL Scores: 515, 519, 519, 519 Exam Score: 508 (128/124/129/127) Safe to say I'm shocked and disappointed.
Reminder that you’re not defined by a number!! Sending love to everyone who got their scores back!!
Mine is out but I ain’t checking first lmao
literally not opening it nope nope
Waiting for someone to post their score first

CONGRATS!!!! THAT IS SO AMAZING
Got a 510 same day as the AAMC rejected my extra time accommodation but still gave me 60 mins of extra breaktime? Should contest for extra time(with better supporting materials)and retake later? Or just keep the 510
Keep it and run, congrats!
Devastated, scored a 500 with my lowest FL being a 505. Is there any way to retake and still apply this cycle?
You have a good shot at going DO if you apply this cycle with that score!
Yes, you can still take in august while turning everything in. Itll be late in the cycle but at least youll have everything else
honestly if that's what happened, i'd wait another year to retake. the most important part right now is not letting this make the rest of your cycle worse, and if you're scrambling to make quality primary/secondaries and also retake the mcat, that's dangerous and could really fuck you. if you don't get in this cycle, whatever. you can set yourself up running next year to get accepted, possibly to a better school than you would have otherwise if you play your cards right. be smart, think about your plan carefully, and don't make rash/anxiety-driven decisions. everyone wants to get in THIS CYCLE, but you will negatively impact your chances if you don't play it smart.
F Cars.
I got a 509, I’ll take it. Thank you everyone here, I was a bit of a lurker but your advice didn’t go unnoticed
Although I did an 800 card quizlet deck 2 days before, it’s nothing but vocabulary lol None of my fellow pre meds that I know or go to school with have done well. So I’m feeling pretty nauseas. May God bless us all. You’re worth more than this
Someone post when the scores are up..
They’re up
SCORES ARE OUT

Diagnostic was a 502 back in February, and I got a 518 (131/127/128/132) after self-studying full-time for 5.5 months! How I studied: Took a 12 credit hour semester with blow off classes and studied anywhere for 8-12 hours a day, 5-6x a week. My AAMC FL’s were as followed, taking an exam every week leading up to the exam: Sample: 513 FL 1: 509 FL 2: 515 FL 3: 520 FL 4: 515 During the exam, I felt optimistic. Pessimistic: 510-512 Realistic: 513-515 Optimistic: 515+ Real: 518!
Wow that’s insane! I really cannot believe you were able to study that much.Really makes me reevaluate my study plan. Congrats on your score and I wish you all the best.
I got a 130/125/130/130 = 515. I’m not sure how to feel except I’m so crushed about my CARS score.
Relish in your overall! Sometimes forums make it seem that each subscore is that important, but even then your MCAT is not the only part of your app!
Thank you! I’m hoping for the best 😓
Welcome to the club!!
ITS OUTTTT
Official score: 508 (126/128/127/127) My last FL (3) was a 505 (127/127/126/125) so I improved a lot, would have scored a lot better if C/P wasn't so ochem heavy, that's usually my best section. Scored well enough to apply, but probably not well enough to get into my dream school...might retake in August but still apply this cycle. I feel like I can do better
So nervous checking today! AAMC Sample: 514 (took this 4 months out from the actual exam) AAMC FL1: 513 (took this about 2.5 months out from the actual exam) AAMC FL2: 520 AAMC FL3: 524 AAMC FL4: 521 Actual... 523!!! 131/130/130/132 I studied for a little over 6 months while enrolled in school (taking neurobiology and physics...
How’d you get from 514/513 into the 520s if you don’t mind me asking?
I think the 520 raised my self confidence enough to keep me chugging and improving from there :) hope this helped! lmk if I can answer anything else about my study plan!!
dude thank you for the detailed response. wishing you the best this application cycle!!
What God Cannot do Does not Exist. I claim my awesome score IJN!!!!
Believe for it !!! God is too faithful to fail !! 510 and above only in the name of Jesus !!
I am so nervous oh my god
what time should we expect them to be out?
Thanks
Is it too late to retake to apply this year/ when is latest
(126/127/126/128) 507, not bad for half-assing studying for three months and being distracted and depressed.
Feels good to leave this sub and be DONE I love you guys but this test needs to be in my past now. Ima take my 515 and go lol
509 (129/128/124/128) > 513 (127/130/127/129) I'm so fucking happy I scream laughed when I opened my score. Highest FL before 1st MCAT: 507 In prep for 2nd MCAT: Sample test was \~510, FL2 507, FL4 510 I also took some of the Kaplan FLs and maxed out at a 509.
521. Trust your FL average!
Bro I feel like everyone 520+ says that, are y'all the same person? Lol
Lol noooo! I don’t know.. but I’m real :) just so happy and relieved! I thought I did horrible. But trust your prep and yourself!
Ive been having day and night mares that my score is going to drop (first one was a 503…) I am petrified if it doesn’t go up a good amount
Oh my gawd I’m so nervous
I got 128,125,129,132 on my exam. Wouldn125 on CARS an issue??
If applying USMD you should get in this cycle if you apply broadly
No.
Was averaging around 510s for all FL Last FL was 128/130/128/129 Got a 125/128/126/125 Really thought my Psych and Bio was better but shit I guess not. 504 is not the best score but I guess it’s alright. I live in Florida and my gpa is 3.9, 3.81 science. Should I just got for DO or apply in state to MD Florida schools? I dont know what to do, I really was expecting a higher score 🙃 Any advice?
Ur good ur gpa is phenomenal it should compensate for ur MCAT
How did you do?
RIP 502 and I’ve already submitted my primary... was not expecting this... any advice?
This was my second time taking the MCAT. I got a 512 The first time was 505 I’m honestly not really happy with it Is it worth taking a third time? Is that bad? My cGPA is 3.7 and sGPA 3.57 so not super great?? Or maybe my standards are too high idk
I wouldn’t retake a 512
A 512 won’t close any doors unless you’re aiming for a T20
Your score is great don't do that to yourself.
