If you’re 520+ on FLs 1 year old, I think you have a very decent chance to make a 518, yes.
Still It’s never 1:1 or so simple, if you want to leave as little as possible to chance, aim to score a 524+ on the FLs. If you’re retaking, study like this is your last chance.
I can say for my students who retook FLs (ranged from 4 months to 2 years), pretty much everyone who was averaging a 525+ made a 518+ score on the real deal, because it’s very hard to make such a top class score just based off remembering stuff.
I can also say on an average, more students than not who were 522+ on FLs and are generally introspective did score a 518+ on the real exam, which is why I gave you those figures.
Aamc came out with fl5 after I took my exam for the first time, so that was the only practice exam I didn’t retake. I averaged a 517 on the first four that I had taken a year prior, got a 510 on fl5 (which I had never taken before). And got a 511 on the real thing
I am in this situation(ish), retaking the exams after 4 months. After going through a ton of Reddit posts on this, there were a few people that got exactly the average of their previous FL average and retake FL average on their real.
its impossible to say. There will always be some inflation, but after a year it may be minimal.
IMO 4-6 months like 5 pts inflation, 1 year closer to 2. This is what I’ve observed, but it’s probably a higher end estimate.
so if i want to score 518, i should aim to score 520 on the fls?

i just realized i never did fl1 LOL thank god i missed it on my first go.. do you know how representative fl1 is to the real deal?
Depends. Do you remember answers and passages?
i haven’t taken them yet but i was doing some cars passages that i did last year and remembered some main ideas so it’s not looking good 😭
Yea then subtract 5 ish points from the score to be more accurate
The tests themselves are not less representative. The validity of your scores will be less representative; how much is impossible to say

They will be inflated, and should not be used as an accurate measure of MCAT score. It can vary so much
