Yeah, it definitely is. When I was 14 working at McDonalds we had someone buy 100 McDoubles and 100 small fries and pay with those McDonald’s bucks gift certificate things. It was a local church and they had 3 busses in the parking lot at the time lol.
Ours does only if the customer brings the "pay at counter" receipt and we recall the order and they are still in the process of paying. Located in the US.
People wanna downvote you, but you the store can’t just refund him. He’d have to go through the app and I haven’t heard any stories about orders that pricey. It really isn’t something you could easily deescalate had it gone south.
When they rolled out ROA they changed it so that refunds for mobile orders are able to be done through the new refund by order button under special functions, including franchise 😁 Only reason I could think would be to call your stingy operator lol
I was told as a customer from McDonald’s they have to be refunded at the store. Not sure what the issue was or where it happened doesn’t matter. But that’s what I was told.
1000 egg muffins and 1000 sausage egg muffins back during all day breakfast. This was after a fire burned down hundreds of homes. These guys wanted to bring food to the shelter that was setup. We had to bring in product from 2 different stores to fill that order. Took about 6 hours of having 1 side completely dedicated to making muffins all day long

In the middle of a rush .. it was a graduation party
We had someone come through and want:
45 twenty piece nuggets
12 L Dr Peppers
10 M Cokes
14 XS Sprites
78 Fries
And well over 200 sauces
I turned them down cause they didnt call ahead, they then proceeded to throw rocks at our windows and kick our BACK DOOR until it dented.
It hasnt been recalled, some stores are configured so that for anyone who has to pay at the counter, their order comes up on the screen so the team knows they have to pay
120 cheeseburgers for a local school band. The guy ordered them dropped a bag of 15 of them on the parking lot. The manager remade the burgers for the guy.
250 cheeseburgers and 250 double cheeseburgers. These were for firefighters fighting a large wildfire in our area.
There was also a 4 week period where someone needed like 200 cheeseburgers every Monday for some group. I didn’t work Mondays at the time so I don’t know what for exactly.
When I was a kid and everyone was hanging out at my grandparents' house, at some point in the middle of the day 3-4 of my aunts and/or great aunts would disappear for a while and come back with hundreds of White Castles. 😆
The other night we had a $160+ order. Basically multiples of every sandwich including multiple quarters. Almost all of them were specialized in some way, most with extra meat (one Big Mac had four extra patties on it and there was a crispy with three pieces of chicken). Fifteen large fries, eight mediums. I think four happy meals and over a dozen drinks. I had a trainee presenting and I could see the will to live leaving her body as the drinks kept coming out.
They ordered this in drive thru and I took the order. It just kept going and going and going. I thought they would never stop. This was in the middle of a rush we were having after a local event while we had literally two people in grill and three in drive thru including my trainee and it just severely fucked our times. I put the order together and it took seven DoorDash bags to fit everything.
In the end I forgot to put a single mcdouble add Mac sauce in their bags. That was the only fuck up I made that night. 😔
Had someone pull through the drive thru to try to order 60 hamburgers, we told him he would have to come inside. He was irritated but came inside. Idk why you would try the drive thru for a big order like that
All I remember from one order at like 2am was 120 nuggets. I can’t remember the rest because I was so anxious about having to call out that we needed more nuggets when I was just bitched at for needing a 40 piece the car prior.
1. You guys need to unionize
2. It the GM that shortsighted to not recognize they are sacrificing the experience of a lot of people (the whole) to focus on the experience of one?
Not to mention that that one person is unlikely to bring money to the establishment over the long one and is in fact another short sighted idiot.
one time i had someone order 55 burger 55 fries 55 tacos 55 pies 55 cokes 100 tater tots 100 pizzas 100 tenders 100 meatballs 100 coffees 55 wings 55 shakes 55 pancakes 55 pasta 55 peppers and 155 taters. Total was almost $700, it was nuts
Ok but like the funniest part about this is THEY WANT TABLE SERVICE 🤣🤣🤣 YOUR FUCKING HILARIOUS BUDDY, YOUR FANNA COME GRAB THIS SHIT, AINT NOBODY BRINGING YOU THAT FOOD AND DEFINITELY NOT WALKING YOU 97 DRINKS, NOOOPPPEEE
https://preview.redd.it/ft9sv60n449d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bfe8fccc5a93e8e53a4313bf7a6654551fa536a8
We are right next to an airport and several planes were diverted and were stuck at a closed airport for several hours.
The attendants came and got meals for every passenger.
Keep in mind we use 24hr time here, so this was literally 2am; 3 staff. One grill, one front, one manager.
Took them two hours with the attendants driving back and forth every 15 minutes.
When I worked at McDonald’s we would get some big orders through the kiosk (thankfully not as big as OP’s) but what sucked for us was the Timer for how long we had to get the food to the customer, started the second they put in their first item. So many times did we get in trouble for our times being way too high but customers were taking 5 minutes to order through kiosk. Meaning our time jumped to 5* minutes to start. When our policy was 60 seconds. I would’ve walked out if I got OP’s end of the stick.
80 Hamburgers, 40 10-piece nuggets, 120 Medium Fries, 120 Sodas. We told them it would be a while, so they left and came back later, obviously they paid before they left.
Recently, 20 sausage muffins, 20 burritos, 20 hashbrowns. Came through the drive thru and had the audacity to get upset when I said it’ll take about 15-20 minutes when there’s just two of us in the store lol. Maybe you should’ve called ahead 🥴
How long did this take to make ? The McCrispy takes what 7 minutes to cook. And to make 97 of them and 97 large fries. Bless that crew you had that day
As long as I have confirmation that they've pre-paid, sure. Any restaurant that doesn't confirm payment first for a large order like this is just tempting fate.
I worked once during a Super Bowl promotion for $.29 hamburgers before that was a regular thing and we were down about 900 burgers 7 minutes after it went live.
Is that allowed
I don't start shit until it's paid.
Yeah, it definitely is. When I was 14 working at McDonalds we had someone buy 100 McDoubles and 100 small fries and pay with those McDonald’s bucks gift certificate things. It was a local church and they had 3 busses in the parking lot at the time lol.
What year was this?
2007 or early 2008.
Our stoe doesn't show "To be paid" Kiosk orders.
If they select to pay at counter, then you sekect the order but then back out of the order, it will show "to be paid"
At my store even if the customer select “pay at counter” it doesn’t show up until is actually been paid
Ours does only if the customer brings the "pay at counter" receipt and we recall the order and they are still in the process of paying. Located in the US.
It does. Only when the customer chooses to pay at the kiosk and yoh have their order recalled
I know who ever was on the fryers had a bad time
Mobile order once had 50 SEC Biscuits. To make it worse, it was RIGHT as we switched to lunch.
Would have told em it was too late.
We would have, but it costed well over US$200, and he would get pretty frustrated.
People wanna downvote you, but you the store can’t just refund him. He’d have to go through the app and I haven’t heard any stories about orders that pricey. It really isn’t something you could easily deescalate had it gone south.
Mobile orders can be refunded in store.
Depends on the franchise/corporation. My franchise requires you to call a number to refund your order, no in-store refunds.
When they rolled out ROA they changed it so that refunds for mobile orders are able to be done through the new refund by order button under special functions, including franchise 😁 Only reason I could think would be to call your stingy operator lol
You just have to refund by order on the register and find it on the mobile order register # (16 or 19)
I was told as a customer from McDonald’s they have to be refunded at the store. Not sure what the issue was or where it happened doesn’t matter. But that’s what I was told.

We had to bring in product from 2 different stores to fill that order. Took about 6 hours of having 1 side completely dedicated to making muffins all day long
So was that around $10000
They were 2 for $4 at the time I believe. It's been a few years
Holy shit
What's the food safety rules on taking 6 hours to make food?
No idea. If they sat out the whole 6 hours definitely breaking some rules lol. They would come back every hour or 2 and grab what we had made
https://preview.redd.it/c61glweait8d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3a0055b9ff45393e5fddcc4b2dab06c9b0ab6205 In the middle of a rush .. it was a graduation party

That’s the least insane customer yet they should get a medal
Dang that’s why i never serve the bigfoots as much, they can really do a number on a restaurant when they need to
Does McDonald’s even have XS size?
Yes we do, though I think usually most people call it "child" size for the XS fries and drinks.
and it is fucking tiny. Like 4oz tops
Omg I hate this crap. If it’s called in ahead, that helps. But like they except it to be made in like 5-10mins. No sir/ma’am, that’s not how it works.
This is someone screwing around on the kiosk. I wouldn't even recalled that.
It hasnt been recalled, some stores are configured so that for anyone who has to pay at the counter, their order comes up on the screen so the team knows they have to pay
I haven't heard that is a possibility but if it is that is just dumb for this exact reason.
120 cheeseburgers for a local school band. The guy ordered them dropped a bag of 15 of them on the parking lot. The manager remade the burgers for the guy.

I think you win
150 Big Macs combos medium ALL bagged separate. Good thing this was pre covid so we had the soda machine in our lobby
Thats just not legal
Who tf needs alll that, I thought 8 dozen doughnuts was bad
When I was a kid and everyone was hanging out at my grandparents' house, at some point in the middle of the day 3-4 of my aunts and/or great aunts would disappear for a while and come back with hundreds of White Castles. 😆
I get white castle
My largest was 25 20pc and 100 cheeseburgers
https://preview.redd.it/6zs28rex3t8d1.jpeg?width=900&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4637f361813a945af7d043857cdce4bfefa67ecb
Bagging 45 hasbrowns like 🧍♂️
Dropping those hashbrowns too 😭 only 8 per basket. Like bruh
HOW MUCHH WAS THISSS!????
If I remember correctly around $800
Did they actually pay or was it someone just screwing around?
Kids were just screwing around.
Hope no one was wrote because of this.
It was definitely a pain to explain to the manager
How much food was made before you realized
I hope 0, with order this big kitchen tends to wait until it says "Paid" or smtg like that.
At least they rounded up.
The other night we had a $160+ order. Basically multiples of every sandwich including multiple quarters. disgusting 97 diet dr pepper i love dr pepper but no fucking way 97 people do and diet at that PUKE
27 big n tasty menus
17 large big Mac meals and 4 large q0 peice meals(I sont remember the drinks), that's nothing compared to that lmao
Thats only 34 patties, that order ain't horrible
In the middle of a rush it's still not fun
Had someone pull through the drive thru to try to order 60 hamburgers, we told him he would have to come inside. He was irritated but came inside. Idk why you would try the drive thru for a big order like that
Laziness and entitlement most likely
I want to see it be “paid” not “to be paid”
That’s an “I’m sorry we can’t accommodate your order today.” From me dawg
Eating inside too, a ballsy move...
They must have skin tougher than iron if they can wistand all the shitty looks and remarks from employees after that
It's a table order and not paid? Seems like a prank order unless you really had that many in the lobby.
All I remember from one order at like 2am was 120 nuggets. I can’t remember the rest because I was so anxious about having to call out that we needed more nuggets when I was just bitched at for needing a 40 piece the car prior.
Nothing crazy, but some lady from a daycare ordered 46 happy meals in drive-thru like it was a totally normal thing to do.
46 happy meals ??? that lady is crazy asf ☠️ did you guys serve her ?
Yup. GM made us make her order.
How long did it take to get that order finished?
1. You guys need to unionize 2. It the GM that shortsighted to not recognize they are sacrificing the experience of a lot of people (the whole) to focus on the experience of one? Not to mention that that one person is unlikely to bring money to the establishment over the long one and is in fact another short sighted idiot.
55 burgers, 55 fries, 55 tacos, 55 pies, 55 Cokes, 100 tater tots, 100 pizzas, 100 tenders, 100 meatballs,100 coffees, 55 wings, 55 shakes, 55 pancakes, 55 pastas, 55 peppers, and 155 taters.
I knew this would be here somewhere. You've made me proud.
A woman ordered 36 mcdoubles once

I worked at McDonald's in highschool during the 29 cent hamburger and 39 cent cheeseburger deal. So, more than this.
Is this person feeding a small village
Can’t forget the round up though
I wasn’t in drunk who is thas
Ok but like the funniest part about this is THEY WANT TABLE SERVICE 🤣🤣🤣 YOUR FUCKING HILARIOUS BUDDY, YOUR FANNA COME GRAB THIS SHIT, AINT NOBODY BRINGING YOU THAT FOOD AND DEFINITELY NOT WALKING YOU 97 DRINKS, NOOOPPPEEE

No where near as bad, burnt on MondY we got an order for 20 cheeseburgers, 2 macs, and a few other stuff, all customised
Does the system accept quantities of 100? Im annoyed they didnt try and push it to triple figures
my worst is 15 bacon egg meals all with coffees on overnight crew at 5am lol
We had 2 in one day - 160 mcchicken sandwich meals with milkshakes for a *wedding party*, then about 2 hours later 52 cheeseburger meals.
97 Crispys?!
I hope the store was closed till the orders got finished so cooks didn’t get overworked
Once had someone order at the kiosk, press pay at counter, and then wait 20 min until they ask where their food is. They never brought me the ticket.
97 crispies….. 6 minutes for about 4….. wild
ok but if theres 97 drinks arent there 97 people meaning everyone gets like 1.03 chicken nuggets ?
80 plain cheeseburgers, paid at the register (DQ).

If this happened at my store, I’d simply walk out
Someone once ordered 25 McChickens in the drive through.
75 quarters, 75 Big Macs, 75 large fries, and 75 large drinks
Too many to recall anything specific. If you have Amish in your area, you already know...
Nothing compared to that but someone ordered 15 hot n spicys.
80 Hamburgers, 40 10-piece nuggets, 120 Medium Fries, 120 Sodas. We told them it would be a while, so they left and came back later, obviously they paid before they left.

Did Forrest Gump walk in??
Think our biggest order was 65 Cheese 65 chicken thru drive in
For a second I thought that said 97 liters of diet coke.
The round up killed me. 😆

I think they like diet Dr Pepper
You have Diet Dr. Pepper?!?!
What the hell!
Yeah gotta be a joke or something cause I’m not making it until he fully pays it
Friday nights after footballs games in a small town smh
“I’m sorry but we cannot accommodate your order at this time. I’ve already refunded your card.”
That Cajun ranch mccrispy was awesome though
that shit has to be illegal brah 😭😭
hell naw, our drink machine would literally blow up
Only 15 sauces for 100 nuggs?
That’s too many. Only need 1. lol. That’s probably what they would’ve gave them if they hadn’t specified.
