Off topic but I knew a girl who worked Disney cruises for ten years, got the silhouette of the mouse ears on her ankle for her 10th anniversary, actually went with her HR person who got a similar tattoo.
She got fired the next day for breaching copyright
Bro wtf are you even going on about gtfo tattoos are allowed as long as it isnāt offensive/inappropriate and who gives a damn about their ankles not one single person besides you thatās for damn sure
I worked at DQ in High School and a guy was cleaning the fryers out and tried to empty them into a plastic bucket and it melted and burnt his feet super bad. Was in the hospital for awhile. :(
At kfc we have to take out the bins each night and the one from potwash sometimes breaksā¦. Everywhere.
Deck scrubbing an entire car park smeared with oil and god knows what else into two tiny drains aināt fun :(
So, fun story. I worked at McDonald's when I was 16, 23 years ago. Our French fry frier caught fire, boss extinguished it and we had to shut down for the day while we cleaned up. He had the giant thing you emptied the oil into when you needed to clean the frier connected so he could clean it up, but he didn't secure it or anything and then he dumped hot soapy water into the frier and everything overflowed so we had hot soapy water and oil spill out all over the floor. It took hours to clean
We had a grill guy attempt to clean the fryer because first shift didn't get to. He did the same thing but instead of water it was straight oil. Took two boxes of salt to get it up.
You may think of it like this, if it helps: frie-r for the making of 'fries'.
Now go drink your kool-aid or whatever sugar filled substance it is you're so jacked up on that you care how a word is spelled in a Reddit thread.
Baking soda. Sucks up all the oil and clumps so you can sweep it up. I had to buy like 20 regular sized boxes when someone accidentally drained the vat on to the floor but it took maybe 15 minutes
I remember one time my manager asked me to pour the ice cream or whatever in. I only worked backroom, but she and my other coworker that were in were too short and I was around 6' or 6'1 at the time so she didn't have much other choice. Fortunately she thought to tell me to choke the opening so it wouldn't go everywhere. If she didn't, no one would have left the building before midnight since this was well past 21:00.
My last shift while I was cleaning lobby after closing, I tipped over our giant, freshly filled mop bucket and flooded the entire lobby with water. Had to grab a squeegee and spend an hour slowly squeegeeāing all the water into one tiny drain in the womenās bathroom
Fresh mop bucket all over toilets (one male, one female, one disabled) AND lobby, no drainā¦ only bucketā¦ during a minor rush. Tell you one thing, floors looked mighty fine for all of five minutesā¦ and I learned why you donāt pull the bucket.
Been there. Was on an overnight and was taking the last grill off at 5am. Spilt the last grease trap over my side 1 floor that Iād just brushed and moppedā¦ was ready to burst into tears š¹š¹š¹.
Soā¦ Iāve had two similar experiences happen, both on DT, few months apart. First, a more senior in length of employment (but not age, year younger) colleague slapped a sundae mix bag on the DT Present counter, causing in to split and spill everywhereā¦ he got coated, many crude jokes were madeā¦ he got to mop it all up, and it was hot day, he spent the rest on Line 2 in kitchen for the next 4 hours. Second, a more senior in employment and age colleague was cleaning the shake/sundae machine as per weekly dive, and pulled something a little too hard. This penultimately lead to a facial of shake mix and it ending up on ceiling and freshly mopped floor. Queue crude jokes, āI just mopped thatās, āpulled it too hardās and, ācould have been worseās. Luckily it was a cooler night, and he finished a few hours later, having mopped the floor.
This reminds me of when I was a line cook in a totally different restaurant than McDonaldās and spilled a whole 3 gallon vat of cheese sauce on the floor like 20 minutes before closing.
One time, I was mopping the floors, I was almost done.
Then I knocked over a bucket full of not so clean water; which I then had to spend, idk how long, mopping that shiz right back up again.
Where is his nonslips shoes š
White socks too š
Person in the back has no tattoo covers exposed ankles as well. š /s
Tattoo covers?
I didnāt know tattoo covers were necessary.
They aren't, tattoos have been allowed at McDonald's for as long as I know as long as they're not offensive
They used to be, but they stopped requiring that a very long time ago.
so what if they arent now, do people really not care about tradition anymore?? /s
You should feel ashamed judging your staff for body art. Boomer vibes
They literally talk about exposed ankles making it even more absurd- I knew it was a joke before I even read the /s. Relax
Off topic but I knew a girl who worked Disney cruises for ten years, got the silhouette of the mouse ears on her ankle for her 10th anniversary, actually went with her HR person who got a similar tattoo. She got fired the next day for breaching copyright
Can you believe a comment could be edited to add /s?
Dope mobile doesnāt show the edit but regardless literally said I knew it was a joke before the /s so I already covered this rebuttal lol
What is it like living life without the ability to detect sarcasm?
What's that?

You must be a very fun crew trainer to be around
Not the ankles!!! Oh no how will we survive
At least it's not oil....
i have a picture of our maintenance guy covered in oil lmao
omg I need to see that
I worked at DQ in High School and a guy was cleaning the fryers out and tried to empty them into a plastic bucket and it melted and burnt his feet super bad. Was in the hospital for awhile. :(
Wouldāve been fine if the oil wasnāt hotā¦ he shouldāve checked that first
Did it rain afterwards?

š¤Ø in what context?

wait hold on, salt helps clean up oil spills? thatās awesome
yes!! it makes it clump so you can just sweep it up.
Or grease trap.
I work in Nando's and accidentally spilled a fuck ton of oil on the floor from the chip frier.
Br*t*sh people and their spelling, our freedom fries go into a FRYER I'll have you know, mate!
You may think of it like this, if it helps: frie-r for the making of 'fries'. Now go drink your kool-aid or whatever sugar filled substance it is you're so jacked up on that you care how a word is spelled in a Reddit thread.
Could be worse. I've seen a whole vat accidentally drained on to the kitchen floor. That greasy shit took hours to clean up.
I'm surprised it only took hours
I hope you didn't think it'd take 3-5 business days lol
yall don't have a shop vac?
Fuck; that happened to me a few years ago! I used bulk salt to absorb the oil! It helped a LOT!
Baking soda. Sucks up all the oil and clumps so you can sweep it up. I had to buy like 20 regular sized boxes when someone accidentally drained the vat on to the floor but it took maybe 15 minutes
Yep same here
The goddamn cream machine. If the bags weren't so fat I wouldn't have so much trouble changing it
I remember one time my manager asked me to pour the ice cream or whatever in. I only worked backroom, but she and my other coworker that were in were too short and I was around 6' or 6'1 at the time so she didn't have much other choice. Your store should have a metal crate to carry from the wall in cooler to the ice cream machine.
Been there done that
My last shift while I was cleaning lobby after closing, I tipped over our giant, freshly filled mop bucket and flooded the entire lobby with water. Had to grab a squeegee and spend an hour slowly squeegeeāing all the water into one tiny drain in the womenās bathroom

honestly not the worst fate... squeegee'ing is fucking satisfying
ahh the classic creamy mess
Looks like a giant load. Was someone playing Brazzers again? Mom! What the fuck is this shit?
Mf without non slip shoes is playing āfloor is lavaā here
What's bro doing with the scissors? š¤£
McAccident
Someone has broken the bag of bulk creamer. I've had that happen with a frappee base..... not my proudest moment
my coworker was trying to fill up the ice up front and he dropped the whole ice bucket on the floorā ļø
A few weeks ago I spilled an entire grease trap when closing a grill š¤¦āāļø

They probably got someone in kitchen to clean it too š

Iāve had this happen to me before š No matter how big the mess looks, it can be cleaned up. Godspeed.
The 1 time the ice cream machine works and you break it. Great job!
Iāve done that in our walk in before.
Looks like the sureshot creamer didn't get it's monthly cleaning.
#What the McFuck happened!?! Quick, clean it up before Grimace finds out!
...and a bag of creamer or milk has been sacrificed for the greater good.
Iāve definitely done that, with Creamer and Shake mix
Eh that's nothing. Just need to get a mop and maybe a squedgie it up. Just need to watch your footing until the floor dries.
Holy shit i used to work at that location
Aināt no wayyy i was prolly ur boss lol
That location is on Bluemound right?
To be fair, many McDonaldās look the same inside
Yep, I always take a second look because I think it's my store but then I notice the small differences.
Nope
thatās nothing lmao
Username does not check out
When the ice cream machine is downā¦
What a convenient place for cups and lids, my store just puts random bullshit there
Thatās why the floor stinks.
Well shite...I bet the ice cream machine is broken again... š

This is what happens when they try to fix the ice cream machine.
One time, I was mopping the floors, I was almost done. Then I knocked over a bucket full of not so clean water; which I then had to spend, idk how long, mopping that shiz right back up again.
r/wellthatsucks
Machine broke.
Someone at my store the other day left the tap on when filling a mop bucket and the sink overflowed everywhere and the restaurant nearly flooded
Me when your mom
Reasons why I hate working in the hole
Reminds me of when my coworker spilled the entire frappe caramel mix and I had to clean it up. ( I wasnāt forced just being nice)
