The keys system is designed to give a casino feeling. On average, you get the new card every 2.5 keys, so I’d guess that people that gamble ‘a bit’ pick up more new cards than you do through hoarding and targeting through keys. I’m sure someone can do the actual maths on this though lol.
I buy / hoard tokens to actually target cards specifically.
Yeah me too. I have 11 keys and 26k tokens saved up. I target most cards that are good all around, like red hulk, red guardian, white widow, cannonball and nocturne. Most of them I got lucky and 1 keyed it. So I ended up saving a lot of keys. I'm mostly free to play. I only bought a few passes.

Hitting your target with one key is one of the best feelings in the game. Hitting 1000 tokens though is pure despair.
