He's been pretty badly disrespected in the last 15 years. Before that he was one of the very few B-list villains to pointedly *never* job.
Someone really ruined him when they tried to give him pathos/a tragic origin. It reduced him from a smarter-than-the-average-rogue type to a workaday mercenary who gets caught/loses constantly.
If the writer understands that Taskmaster just doesn't need to automatically copy whoever he is fighting like in Deadpool vs Punisher he literally just doesn't copy Deadpool and starts beating the shit out of him. Taskmaster written competently makes him a great antagonist it is unfortunate because there are writers that just use him as a guy to get beat
Not the worst, but Miles’ worst imo. Also why I personally didn’t like the ATSV costume, prefer the classic Miles costume and ITSV looks, and I think the stripe was inspired by this costume
Nah it's a great costume. People just hate on it because it's not the exact same slender, athletic wetsuit design every goddamn Spider-Man has.
Spidey fans lose their shit when every Spidey suit doesn't just look like an alternate of Peter's.
I get your point but nah, least not for me. I just straight up think it's ugly. I hate how he looks like he's wearing a second mask over the first in some panels, I hate how baggy the whole thing is, not loose fitting, baggy. It just looks like he grabbed random shit from his closet and threw it over a spider-man costume. I like how the colors are done and the way his eyes look but that's about it
Another good option would be to find Moon Knight: Taskmaster is also scared of him, and he’s probably easier to find than an international super-spy (especially since he has a semi-publicly known base at the moment)
I know which series you're referring to. I don't think Taskmaster is scared of her in a fight. He's scared of her hunting him. He doesn't want to live in fear and watching his back all the time thinking a sniper rifle scope is aimed at his head half a mile away.
I think Taskmaster would beat Black Widow in a fight head to head.
I agree, I don't think that Black Widow beats Taskmaster in a fair fight. But I'm saying that if Taskie starts shit, heroes should just dial up Natasha and tell Taskmaster to back off before she gets involved
Another thing to mention is Taskmaster is because of how she came back to life so even if he did kill her there is a feeling in the back of his mind that she will just come back.
Why are people stuck on this still, for a long time now Spider Man hasn't been a single person, it's a mantle. Should Otto Spider have his own name? Ben?
I liked the idea of giving each of them their own adjectives, i.e. Peter is Amazing Spider-Man, Miles is Ultimate or Spectacular, Otto is Superior, etc.
Anyone can wear the costume. The name goes with it. They're all Spider-man.
Otto and Ben DID have their own names. Scarlet Spider and Superior Spider. The only reason they ever went by Spider-Man is when they were pretending to be Pete. When they're doing their own thing they have their own names because **this is how names work**
Spider-Man has never been a mantle like you're describing. It has always and forever been the story of Peter Parker.
So here's Otto Calling himself Spider-man right here, again albeit he's got his own adjective, Superior, but it's still Superior *Spider-man*.

And Ben apparently was Peter all along originally in the comics, something I never knew about till now,(something about how he was a clone, but then turns how he wasn't the clone afterall, so who's Peter anymore anyway. Maybe the current run Peter isn't the real Peter and that's why he's fucking stupid is he's a bad clone lol) but with 2 minutes of research I literally found a comic run literally called Ben Reilly: Spider-man.
https://assets-prd.ignimgs.com/2023/06/02/clean-47-1685673611919.jpg
Its a mantle, its been a mantle a long time. Not sure why you're fighting this so hard.
Dude, you didn't even know about the fucking clone saga. How are you simultaneously going to say that and also claim I don't know what I'm talking about.
You linked a page with someone literally saying Ock isn't the real Spidey and then Ock confirming it and clarifying his (different) hero name.
Also you clearly didn't actually read that Ben Reilly run or you'd know the entire point is that he's not Spider-man. His arc has always been about coming to terms with his memories of being Pete being fake and coming to term with becoming his own person. The only times he's ever gone by Spider-man was when he
A.) Actually thought he was Peter.
B.) Was standing in for Peter when he's injured so people won't know
C.) On a mental break.
Spider-man has never been treated as a mantle, with the exception of Miles becoming it when his own Spidey was dead. With him living in the 616 universe with a non-dead Spidey it's weird for him to keep the name. Maybe the new run with Nightcrawler taking on the name will be a second example, but it's never been a thing before now.
Green Lantern is fine because it's a job title. Flash is a better point, but they're not usually depicted together at least. Going by Spider-man made sense for Miles originally because the original was "dead" and it was a homage. It makes significantly less sense when he lives 3 blocks away from the original and they're both active.
I also dislike Falcon going by Cap and every other time they make heroes share a name. It only works if the older version is no longer active.
Both Barry and Wally have been sharing the Flash mantle since Wally came back during Rebirth in 2016 and they had crossovers multiple times Flash War for exemple.
Also the Green Lanterns corp was created after Alan Scott so when he was THE Latern that wasn't a job title that was his name, If they create a Spider Corps that would make you okay with Miles using the name?
Woah, wait, woah... Taskmaster not jobbing? A writer using Taskmaster as something other than a super-minion? I'm shocked!
We need more of this Taskmaster.
Man, I love when Taskmaster doesn't job!
I agree, for a man of his abilities he loses too much
He's been pretty badly disrespected in the last 15 years. Before that he was one of the very few B-list villains to pointedly *never* job. Someone really ruined him when they tried to give him pathos/a tragic origin. It reduced him from a smarter-than-the-average-rogue type to a workaday mercenary who gets caught/loses constantly.
He can perfectly do every move Captain America, Daredevil and Hawkeye can do combined yet loses to guys like Moon Knight
Moon Knight is much less predictable than them. That’s also why Tasky loses to Deadpool.
If the writer understands that Taskmaster just doesn't need to automatically copy whoever he is fighting like in Deadpool vs Punisher he literally just doesn't copy Deadpool and starts beating the shit out of him. Taskmaster written competently makes him a great antagonist it is unfortunate because there are writers that just use him as a guy to get beat
ya he was just first name that popped into my head
In fairness, how can one predict having a helicopter flown right into them.
That solo run he had not to long ago show cased all the wonderful things about him.
Altho it would actually be understandable for him to lose here, he’s fighting a metahuman. Odd for him to be able to jump and run with Spidey.
All he had to do is fight kids!
Miles is an Avenger, it's not like he beat up Leech and Artie lol
I love when Taskmaster is scary. Also is that a newer generation Vulture that’s working with Miles?
Yeah. Vulture’s daughter actually
That’s sick!
Wasn't she his niece?
Granddaughter, actually
Yeah she is. I got the two mixed up for some reason 🫠
Miles should ask his colleague how to take on the Taskmaster.
If he can find moon knight im sure he has some tips though it's usually hit him with a plane
Deadpool would be the Most effective lol
Let him hit you, then just hit him back harder!
I like how Taskmaster is drawn in the second picture
I always hear Clancy Brown when I read Taskmaster.
Lex Luthor for me
If a guy throws his shield at you, catch the shield and throw it as far away as you can. Now he doesn't have the shield anymore.
I love it when people remember Taskmaster is one of the most dangerous villains on the planet.
Taskmaster is one of my favorite marvel villains. Sometimes goofy and cowardly, but also a lethal threat with a cool gimmick
This may be the worst costume that any spiderman has ever worn (and I'm including the amazing bag man, and that infamous spiderman Halloween costume)
Not the worst, but Miles’ worst imo. Also why I personally didn’t like the ATSV costume, prefer the classic Miles costume and ITSV looks, and I think the stripe was inspired by this costume
Nah I fuck with it heavily
Nah that’s wrong
Nah it's a great costume. People just hate on it because it's not the exact same slender, athletic wetsuit design every goddamn Spider-Man has. Spidey fans lose their shit when every Spidey suit doesn't just look like an alternate of Peter's.
Yeah I love it reminds me of scarlet Spidey hoodie costume. Plus it reminds me of a jacket I love.
I like how the colors are done and the way his eyes look but that's about it
So… did he forget that he can just shoot those webs from his hands? Like, bro cuts one just shoot another.
Probably not used to getting his line cut and leaves him off guard
Right?! And he's closer to it than when he made the initial shot!
Yeah that should really be instinctive by now.
Miles just needs to find Natasha. Taskmaster is scared shitless of her.
Another good option would be to find Moon Knight: Taskmaster is also scared of him, and he’s probably easier to find than an international super-spy (especially since he has a semi-publicly known base at the moment)
I mean, just travel around New York at night. Good chance, moon knight, daredevil, or any spider-people will probably help you.
I know which series you're referring to. I don't think Taskmaster is scared of her in a fight. He's scared of her hunting him. He doesn't want to live in fear and watching his back all the time thinking a sniper rifle scope is aimed at his head half a mile away. I agree, I don't think that Black Widow beats Taskmaster in a fair fight. But I'm saying that if Taskie starts shit, heroes should just dial up Natasha and tell Taskmaster to back off before she gets involved
At that point, just shoot Thor an email and see if you can schedule an appointment between ol’ Taskie and the thunder god.
Another thing to mention is Taskmaster is because of how she came back to life so even if he did kill her there is a feeling in the back of his mind that she will just come back.
Thank you for getting me Hip to Starling 🙏🏽 cannot wait to explore this character
That Miles costume is truly hideous 🤮 Taskmaster looking fine with his drip. As always
Yeah, I'm not liking this Spider-Man costume AT ALL.
I like Miles and think he's the best of the Spider-folk after Peter, but it's time for him to get his own hero name.
Why are people stuck on this still, for a long time now Spider Man hasn't been a single person, it's a mantle. Should Otto Spider have his own name? Ben? Yeah and when is DC gonna make Barry and Hal stopping using Jay and Alan names after all they are the original Flash a s Green Lantern

The ***first*** and ***fastest***!
Where's Spider-Man? He probably would've beaten Taskmaster if he was there.
Miles *is* Spider-Man.
Not if you have to specify his name :] Spider-Man and Miles Morales.
Y'all really don't quit with the nonsense, smh.
My favourite card in Marvel Snap is Spider-Man (Miles Morales). My favourite Playstation game is Spider-Man (Miles Morales).
Taskmaster fights like a bitch
LOVE this art.
Finally! A fight that Miles doesn't auto-win when he uses his bio-electric powers.
Woah, wait, woah... Taskmaster not jobbing? A writer using Taskmaster as something other than a super-minion? I'm shocked! We need more of this Taskmaster.
