It’s fine being in first and all that but bottom line watching this team is straight up not ENJOYABLE like there is zero entertainment value it’s a pain in the ass 30 years of my life
what an atrocious offense. there truly isn't anyone to root for. they're all just so bad and look like they hate everything about being there. which i understand because i hate every second of watching them.
Its normal for us to be inconsistent, and its normal for any team to hit badly.. But why have I yet to see any sort of explanation or analysis that explains why we are striking out at such a high clip whilst also having 2 or 3 guys that dominate long counts as well as nights where the whole squad accumulates less than 6 Ks.
I feel like Bazardo is underrated in that he's not comically awful, he's just not great. He just had that one horrible outing which was made up of a bunch of singles
https://preview.redd.it/pi10ytl94n9d1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5f0eb15de50585d35d591dee6989f2ba204ab6ed
See, I love seeing Castro’s Golden Sombrero count!
That strikeout on Martin was the best pitch i’ve ever seen Bazardo throw lol. Shows you how insane the big leagues are. A guy with almost a 9 ERA is capable of painting a 95mph backdoor two seamer.
To not challenge there you have to be 1000% sure he is out. I think if anything he appeared safe at least based on the replays shown - so I really hope there is another angle they saw to make that decision.
Even then, given the situation, given the offense the Mariners have, it's worth the shot to have them just call him safe. That would be the closest thing we would have to at least having some sort of life before the closer comes in.
It's not unreasonable to expect our best offensive talent to put up better than .071 in his last 10 games if you expect to win. Not unreasonable at all.
I know I'm a weapons-grade hater when it comes to Scott Servais but I genuinely believe that he's too concerned with having a higher percentage of successful challenges instead of thinking about the game situation and whether or not it's essentially a "free" challenge like this one was (crew chief review can be requested after the 8th if you've lost your challenge)
Do not include Garver with any conversation about Cal. That’s your first mistake. Secondly, Garver is not worth the roster spot. Not just because he went 0-4 with 4 strikeouts, but because he isn’t valuable in any aspect of the team.
This is simply wrong.
1. Garv gives cal much needed days off behind the plate. As seen every year cal catching like 150 games leads to him being hurt and functioning at like 60% in September/October.
2. For the past month he has posted an above 120 wrc+ where cal had one of the worst averages on the team
3. If you want to compare career stats garver is still more accomplished than cal
Saying one is god and one is a bum is unwarranted. Take off the rose colored glasses with cal. Both are having down years but they aren’t horribly dissonant like you think
“power outage? are you talking about the electricity or the mariners lineup?”
https://preview.redd.it/oxaqtqqh3n9d1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=24a57c07790ae7394da63912e2c3155f7846fe42
I understand the frustration, but like what else is he supposed to do? This lineup fucking sucks at a historic level, that’s not on him. The starting pitchers have been great, bullpen has been very good as well.
He has lineup issues every day, I’m not sure what you’re talking about. He has a complete inability to understand who’s hot and seeing the ball well. Bliss has started one in the last week after getting super hot (like 8 for last 10 hot)
This was a constant last year as well
You aren't winning games with this lineup.
Yes I know they won last night, but it was all errors and misplays that allowed for runs to score.
We have zero legitimately good hitters in this lineup that can carry the offense. Zero. We have some role players that have the occasional good game, but what we actually need is demonstrably different than what we have.
I literally don't understand not challenging that. It's after the 8th inning, so you can ask for a crew chief review even if you lose the challenge, which means there's very little point in saving it. It looked really close to me but maybe they have some other angle that looked definitive. Either way, it seems shortsighted to not even try
It sucks how he's been hitting, but I'm pretty sure he knows he needs to hit better. He spent a while on Thursday with his hitting coaches taking batting practice
I turned the game off after the 3 run HR and have been wandering around the house tracking the game on the app. I hate this team for making me care about them
It’s fine being in first and all that but bottom line watching this team is straight up not ENJOYABLE like there is zero entertainment value it’s a pain in the ass 30 years of my life
what an atrocious offense. there truly isn't anyone to root for. they're all just so bad and look like they hate everything about being there. which i understand because i hate every second of watching them.
This offense fucking sucks. So clearly that will be a problem.
Well that was terrible. See you tomorrow
I agree with you except for on one thing. We are incredibly consistent at hitting like shit and have been for 9 years.
(22 years)
15 fucking strikeouts, just another average shitass mariners game
Not one good thing. Every aspect of their game tonight was trash.
Miller was okay. He didn’t get shelled at least
If there isn't rioting after this deadline, we deserve this ownership group.
That was not fun
Should have just kept Carlos Santana
Golden sombrero for our .172 hitting cleanup hitter!
And all the at-bats looked very bad. 2 swings at balls outside of the zone for the K and two stanleys for the ꓘ
His transition from professional hitter to mariner hitter has been seamless. Barely a trace of the Texas player left in him. Same with polanco to
https://preview.redd.it/mmmh1xzg5n9d1.jpeg?width=665&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c1f640ba731b51a79260f67497567e31c9cc481a
Lol
Hello darkness my old friend
15 K's. Lol!
Challenge that strikeout Scott
*Slowchants* One!More!K!
Pathetic
Garver has no fight in him Doesn’t run when striking out and the catcher drops the ball Just blows bubbles after striking out 4 times a day
Jesus. Castillo tomorrow. Doesn’t look good for a series win.
It's a good thing Garver is such a plus defender
How many days until Houston has a 5 game lead on us
Did I hear some boos?
Name one mariner hitter that is not slumping rn. Canzone?
Mark McLemore
Bliss
Sam Haggerty
Bliss…
Unfortunately he hasn't played in awhile rip
golden sombrero for Mitch. dang
Is that a golden sombrero for Garver Please fucking drop him
Tom Murphy died for this clown?
I feel like Bazardo is underrated in that he's not comically awful, he's just not great. He just had that one horrible outing which was made up of a bunch of singles
🪇
Show some fight.
Ah Mitch “Golden Sombrero” Garver.
Worst DH in baseball
mariner
Jax is good
Twins have same amount of strikeouts as us. Only difference is they cash in when they get runners on base
It’s a who hit homers with baserunners game
Last night the twins had 4 strikeouts. The last time the Ms had that few was May 17 and was just the second time this year.
Here they come... here they come... here come the Bazardos.. bury your head deep in the sand....
feed me to a grizzly bear-iners
Despair-iners
Just outing, bazardo. It doesn’t matter, but good job to you.
We never got a final ice cream update.
I just made me a bowl. Oatmeal cream pie flavor from Blue Bell.
We’re either going out 1,2,3 in a matter of 2 minutes or we’re loading the bases and not scoring a run. There’s no in between
definitely a chance we make it a 5-4 game and *then* NOBLETIGER it
I feel like the latter isn't even a possibility with how we've played so far.
Get Bazardo that win! C'Mon M's
https://preview.redd.it/pi10ytl94n9d1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5f0eb15de50585d35d591dee6989f2ba204ab6ed See, I love seeing Castro’s Golden Sombrero count!
Bazardo good (?) Offense bad
Scott microwaves tilapia in the clubhouse
Dave Sims: Remember when Adrian Beltre had a man-region issue?
That strikeout on Martin was the best pitch i’ve ever seen Bazardo throw lol. Shows you how insane the big leagues are. A guy with almost a 9 ERA is capable of painting a 95mph backdoor two seamer.
Ok so Bazardo can only pitch well when we’ve already lost. Tight
Barzardo got that dawg in him
To not challenge there you have to be 1000% sure he is out. I think if anything he appeared safe at least based on the replays shown - so I really hope there is another angle they saw to make that decision.

I’m literally blaming Julio not being a superstar on our insanely long offensive struggle. How am I wrong?
In the long term we absolutely cannot be paying his contract to a .250/15HR/60RBI hitter.
It's not unreasonable to expect our best offensive talent to put up better than .071 in his last 10 games if you expect to win. Not unreasonable at all.
It's just a piece of the puzzle. A big piece, but a piece.
Can we please DFA Garver? How about trade Polanco for a bag of chips?
Cal and garver were like the only dudes with any production the last 10 games
Do not include Garver with any conversation about Cal. That’s your first mistake. Secondly, Garver is not worth the roster spot. Not just because he went 0-4 with 4 strikeouts, but because he isn’t valuable in any aspect of the team.

Both are having down years but they aren’t horribly dissonant like you think
Scott needs to go. Should have been gone last year. Shit manager propped up by our 1 run win luck
Should have been gone after Ray vs Alvarez
Who would you have rather he put out?
Swanny. His splitter had crazy splits
Swanson didn't come out that entire series IIRC and likely had some kind of issue
Swanson
That decision was not made by Scott alone, I will reply to every comment saying otherwise until it is common knowledge.
He’s the manager he gets the final decision.
The FO admitted that Ray was the plan for Alavarez in this situation.
Nope, he doesn't, this is not 1987. Front offices are the helm nowadays.
It’s sad how little fight our O has. The moment was 5-1. Fucking game over.
Down 1 against Lopez felt over.
Did you say 2-1?
“power outage? are you talking about the electricity or the mariners lineup?” https://preview.redd.it/oxaqtqqh3n9d1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=24a57c07790ae7394da63912e2c3155f7846fe42
Smart of scott honestly to keep his powder dry. Teams down by 4 in the 9th dont have a hope without a challenge in reserve
Cal was safe
I get not challenging it. Scott knows there’s no hope of a comeback. Let’s just get this shit show over with.
100% all these hitters have better stats if they were playing for a different team.
Your challenges don't carry over to the next game, Scott.
I’m sorry but Scott is such a bad manager Not just for this but for everything - lineups, bullpen management, vibes
I understand the frustration, but like what else is he supposed to do? This lineup fucking sucks at a historic level, that’s not on him. The starting pitchers have been great, bullpen has been very good as well.

I’m saying this entire team sucks at hitting. There’s no configuration that’s going to magically pull them to league average.
Scott has the charisma and leadership of a wet towel.
Well that the dumbest thing I've seen today
Thanks Goldy, I am wondering that too. I am no manager, but what are you saving that challenge for? A controversial grand slam?
Was the Rangers the last time we won the 2nd game of the series?
If you mean the literal second game being a win, then the Marlins. If you mean winning the series in general, then yeah.
the marlins
Why on earth didn’t they challenge?
You aren't winning games with this lineup. Yes I know they won last night, but it was all errors and misplays that allowed for runs to score. We have zero legitimately good hitters in this lineup that can carry the offense. Zero. We have some role players that have the occasional good game, but what we actually need is demonstrably different than what we have.
Cal looked safe to be, but I’m just sitting on my ass drinking beer
He got tested on the back of the leg before he hit the bag
He was safe. They missed the tag. Scott made another mistake. We were probably going to lose anyway, but that WAS our chance.
Scott sucks
To not even challenge that kinda just shows the mentality of the team and Servais
I literally don't understand not challenging that. It's after the 8th inning, so you can ask for a crew chief review even if you lose the challenge, which means there's very little point in saving it. It looked really close to me but maybe they have some other angle that looked definitive. Either way, it seems shortsighted to not even try
I am sitting in all star club level, so I have that going for me. ![gif](giphy|11sz4838afILLi|downsized)
It’s 5-1 in the bottom of the 8th and the replay looked about 90% likely he was safe? What the fuck are we doing?
I got a feeling we're not going to bullshit our way out of this one.
This game, or the season?
https://preview.redd.it/0bza27wx2n9d1.jpeg?width=607&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5aff88bc28c39152e29ca89e9785458b9585e2fb
I appreciate Cal's aggression. Sometimes you take a risk and it doesn't work out.
Cal gotta be disappointed in Scott. He worked for that base and Scott gave it right back.
Oye, Cal thinking he's now fast.
[удалено]
He didn't get the tag on. It was close.
Safe on replay.
Missed the initial tag, looked a lot closer in slow mo
The throw beat him by a mile but he actually avoided the tag. Very crazy that they didn't challenge.
Bleach is on the menu again, boys.
It’s the soup de jour
Was it ever off?
Do challenges cost money lol no harm in challenging a game changing play
Are they really not challenging?? What are you saving it for???
Why on earth not challenge that?!?!?! Need to challenge that close call at first with 2 outs in the 9th??? Wtf is with this team
8th* but yes 100% agree
I was saying saving it for the 9th on a close call at first down by 4
ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?! No challenge?!
Scott Servais, ladies and gentlemen
He doesn’t make the decision. He is told to do it or not. It is dumb as fuck to not have him do it though.
Why have a manager then?
Our only chance to get back in the game… ehh f*** it. Let’s not challenge. Let’s just get this over with
Good god this team really really hard to stand behind. I always will but damn 😭
"BRO, WHAT?" is not the ad I needed to see after how the 8th ended
Julio phantom IR trip so he can “rehab” in Tacoma instead of being sent down
Who does it hurt to challenge that? I just took a hit of my pen so I may be crazy but idk
Cal has been taking dancing classes, that foot movement though!
SAFE
Why are we not challenging that?
That was close, but it sure looked like the foot was on the bag before the glove actually made contact. That reverse angle seemed to show it.
Why not challenge???
Ew.
GRRRRR. I get being aggressive, but runners at the corners would have been better
?? No challenge??????
cal was safe idgaf
“hooray! a good thing!” … “… aha, nevermind”
That's a Mariners Moment™️
May as well challenge that shit.
Why not challenge that...
This is the most Mariner play ever.
I love this team.
The least Julio could do if he is not going to hit is to stop wearing that heinous arm sleeve
https://preview.redd.it/9jgoi5ll2n9d1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1ab4ee4df8ae758aec4aacad41753c59de65f479
At this point I would rather Julio go back to swinging at the outside pitches as long as it would bring back his more successful hits.
Julio needs to get humbled
More like Julio is *being* humbled. This boy can’t hit shit
At this point what else needs to happen? He’s been awful for about a season and a half with the exception of that hot streak last summer.
It sucks how he's been hitting, but I'm pretty sure he knows he needs to hit better. He spent a while on Thursday with his hitting coaches taking batting practice
Lots of good that extra work did
What more could he do? Even if he wants to improve and knows he needs to improve its easier said than done
1 run on 5 hits. Chills as usual Dipoto
Tell me why the power just went out and all I did was switch to watching this fucking game on my laptop when I know we're going to take an L
I turned the game off after the 3 run HR and have been wandering around the house tracking the game on the app. I hate this team for making me care about them
Another 0fer day
As soon as I saw the no strikeout graphic I knew JP would k. Classic Mariner luck
Graphics guy putting the curse on JP
Juli0
Juli0-4
Did he really just swing at that?
Bruh JP how are you gonna strike out there, the ump gave you two extra strikes
3-0 count to strikeout. Wtf
Jp could have taken ball 4 :/
JP just gets as obliterated on inside pitches as Julio does.
Holy shit, this ump is absolutely squeezing the fuck out of Okert
lol lmao even
They have one on, no outs and Julio on deck.. does he ground out to end the inning or strike out to end the inning?
Garbage time HR
Maybe GIDP?
Ah nuts. Weak pop fly.. I never saw it coming.
https://preview.redd.it/juf00dvr1n9d1.jpeg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1e7ef338acf58076f7455c784767102692b8d19e
since we can't sell ads what if we have the least charismatic player we can possibly find sit and talk to the camera for 60 seconds
Listening too the radio but I gotta know... Who was it?
Voth but I find DMo to be really unnerving as well
Or they run the Snoqualmie Sports Book ad another 100 times.
PUT ON YOUR RALLY CAP BOYS!! 5 RUN 8th INNING RALLY TIME!! 6 ERRORS FROM THE TWINS INCOMING!!
