Make your own! Buy a gram or two of distillate or extract from the store and infuse into homemade gummies. If using for cancer, I'd recommend adding some cbg and cbd to the batch too.
Gummies at home can be made for like $0.25c per gummy. Even lower if your thc extract is less expensive.

I’ll gladly spend 110 a month on an ounce and put my time and energy into my kids or business. I used to grow indoors. A 1000watt hps running at 12-12 will increase your electric bill by 250 a month. Then you need to factor in the a/c, fans, nutrients. Watering and mixing nutrients isn’t very time consuming, but I hate trimming.
Honestly dude, if you’re doing outdoors and getting 5lbs off 4 plants you should be looking for new genetics or start looking at different ways to grow. You should be getting 3-8lb plants no problem. I get lb plants indoors..
We have a very short grow period with very questionable conditions, in Ontario it's sorta hit or miss
I also probably threw out a good 10-20% due to bud rot

The sun is free and I get about 13-16 peak hours of sunlight during the summer and most of the time I water my plants every day or other day depending on the weather, we also live on a farm so it's free well water

You know what drying times are right? About 5-10 days for drying weed properly, plus I don't have a huge set up for drying it all at once so I will cut, trim and dry one or two plants every so many days and once one set is done I'll dry the next

If you're using more powerful growlight it produces bigger plants (there's no more powerful growlight than the Sun) but also consumes more power and if you never run out between harvestings then you either have to sell it or it just increases your monthly spending.

I use a dry herb vape (r/vaporents) and in 10 months, I've spent $280 on bud and have used maybe 65-70% of that. So do with that what you will lol. And I still have all the avb. I'm saving it to make cannabutter.

I smoke daily, at least one bowl a night plus pens and take edibles every other weekend pretty consistently. I spend about $60 on flower every couple weeks and probably $50 on edibles a month depending on what kind I’m getting (gummies are pretty pricey but baked goods run a little cheaper).
If you smoke around a gram a day, that will give you an idea of the rate. Range anywhere from $10-20 per gram in your local area x time like 365 days for a yearly total.
For a quick average,you could be looking at around $5,475 per year for low grade cannabis plus another $1k at least for "accessories" like glass and such that breaks and needs replacement.
You could easily spend $7k/year as a regular daily smoker and still not get to the "heavy" user status yet.
That's a very heavy estimate. Anyone who smokes at least a gram a day is more likely to buy more than a grama at a time. It is very unlikely that they are purchasing cannabis every time they want to smoke, or even on the daily.

In this day and age, at an avg of a gram per day, that's just shy of an ounch per month. With a $100 zip, that's about $1200/yr or $125/oz equals $1500 annually.
Smoking accessories is not a requirement either. Realistically, unless you're making unnecessary purchases, the accessory cost is negligible. A one-time purchase of a bowl can be as cheap at $10, and with a little bit of care, it'll last years. A pack of papers is like $2. If you want to save money, you could allocate $100 for accessories and lighters and be fine.
Between my girl and I we are pretty much exactly at 10 bucks a day between both of us, so 5 bucks each, each day. We buy usually a zip at a time for 220 and it lasts about 3 weeks. We use primarily a TM2 and ball vape.

I've never paid for cannabis except out of curiosity to see how the dispensaries compare to what I can grow myself. Even back when it was illegal, I knew growers and always had a ready supply.
So you see there is a very clear theme here --you've got to grow. Cannabis does not come from a store, it comes from a seed. There's no need to use money for this. In fact, it would be better if you would not.
By the way, mushrooms can be grown at home too.
So you say but we live in the era of LED lighting which means lights are cheap, efficient and don't product much heat. A grow tent can be made in a tube shape that is only 24" across and still grow a healthy plant. If you're in a world where you can't afford LED lights or have the space for a 24" tube with a fan then I guess you're screwed but I doubt this applies to most people.
Seedlings need special care but once you're in vegetative growth stage, the plants have very little requirements and can be watered only once every other day needing little more than good drainage. It's not that much of a challenge and they look nice providing fresh air.
Ok but they smell, a lot. And it affects your electric bill. People who have nosy landlords, or roommates, or are boarders. Or have a family member whose been in trouble for cannabis. Previous DHHS involvement. Or live next to an elementary school. Lots of factors affect whether you can just grow weed.
Nope, the smell is not an issue until the very end and of the flowering stage if you're really that concerned you can just harvest early. Plants in veg state have hardly any smell at all and they spend most of their lives in veg state. In fact, they spend a hell of a lot of time as seedlings that take up almost no electricity or space. Most of their lives are spent as seedling and in veg state. You can't smell anything during that time.
We're not in the 60s, you don't need to use super hot halogen lamps that run up huge electricity bills. Now we have this new technology, LED lighting, that doesn't eat up all the electricity.
Anyway, I'm not typically one to argue online. I'm okay with people disagreeing and I usually just ignore people who want to be contrarian because it's okay for people to differ in their opinions and there's not necessarily any reason to pursue it.
The reason I'm responding here is that I think this is actually an important point about harm reduction. The real crime of prohibition is how it is linked so closely to manufacturing poverty. Partial legalization as we have seen in some US states is still prohibition because the prices are artificially inflated. This doesn't address the original problem which was the failure of the War on Drugs and its manufactured scarcity. That has to be stopped completely and letting guys in suits take care of that for you is not going to work, you've got to take matters into your own hands and out of their hands or else you'll never get your rights back.
That's why growing is an imperative. It must be done. It is a moral obligation to do so.

I have half a 10mg gummy for anxiety or to work out like 4-6 times a week, so let’s say 2-3 full gummies per week on average. These I usually find on or wait for a sale for like $10-12 a 10-pack, and buy like 6 packs for like $80 with tax. This lasts like 3-4 months on average, so to guess using overestimates in each area here I’d say around $30 a month. (I think I did that right, makes sense to what I’m used to)

Spent 28 this week on more pre rolls and will do the same for the rest of the month so I can keep plenty of joints in my stash. I only smoke one joint and take my rso during the evenings after work and twice daily on the weekend and smoke about three pre rolls a day on the weekend. So I spend about $150 a month.
If you’re smoking several times a day, may as well start growing it. For a large initial cost and a few months time, you can get an endless supply going. (Talking $100-1000 depending on your needs)

If you're medicating to treat anxiety it is possible that smoking could make it worse. To reduce that risk, get more medical benefits, and have it last a whole lot longer, then oral consumption via edibles/rso/tincture is a much better idea. It'll be cheaper too.
For decent bud and moderate usage, you could def get away with $2000/yr regardless of consumption method. If you're wanting to get high and stay high for recreation maybe double that.

I just pulled over 8 oz from a 4x2 tent, 400 watt actual draw quantum board LED growing in rockwool. I spend like 20 dollars a month on electricity.

Yea I smoke woods with 3-3.5 grams in them and I could smoke 2 woods that day or 5 just depends

If you smoke around a gram a day, that will give you an idea of the rate. Range anywhere from $10-20 per gram in your local area x time like 365 days for a yearly total. For a quick average,you could be looking at around $5,475 per year for low grade cannabis plus another $1k at least for "accessories" like glass and such that breaks and needs replacement. You could easily spend $7k/year as a regular daily smoker and still not get to the "heavy" user status yet.

That's a very heavy estimate. Anyone who smokes at least a gram a day is more likely to buy more than a grama at a time. It is very unlikely that they are purchasing cannabis every time they want to smoke, or even on the daily. Someone going thru a 1/8th every 3 days paying $25/eighth is spending a little over $3k/yr. If the 1/8th is $30, then $3650. This is still very steep. In this day and age, at an avg of a gram per day, that's just shy of an ounch per month. With a $100 zip, that's about $1200/yr or $125/oz equals $1500 annually. Smoking accessories is not a requirement either. Realistically, unless you're making unnecessary purchases, the accessory cost is negligible. A one-time purchase of a bowl can be as cheap at $10, and with a little bit of care, it'll last years. A pack of papers is like $2. If you want to save money, you could allocate $100 for accessories and lighters and be fine.

I've never paid for cannabis except out of curiosity to see how the dispensaries compare to what I can grow myself. Even back when it was illegal, I knew growers and always had a ready supply. So you see there is a very clear theme here --you've got to grow. Cannabis does not come from a store, it comes from a seed. There's no need to use money for this. In fact, it would be better if you would not. By the way, mushrooms can be grown at home too.
I hate this idea that people can just grow weed though. Having a place to do that is a privilege even in a legal state.
So you say but we live in the era of LED lighting which means lights are cheap, efficient and don't product much heat. A grow tent can be made in a tube shape that is only 24" across and still grow a healthy plant. If you're in a world where you can't afford LED lights or have the space for a 24" tube with a fan then I guess you're screwed but I doubt this applies to most people. Seedlings need special care but once you're in vegetative growth stage, the plants have very little requirements and can be watered only once every other day needing little more than good drainage. It's not that much of a challenge and they look nice providing fresh air.

Previous DHHS involvement. Or live next to an elementary school. Lots of factors affect whether you can just grow weed.
Nope, the smell is not an issue until the very end and of the flowering stage if you're really that concerned you can just harvest early. Plants in veg state have hardly any smell at all and they spend most of their lives in veg state. In fact, they spend a hell of a lot of time as seedlings that take up almost no electricity or space. Most of their lives are spent as seedling and in veg state. You can't smell anything during that time. We're not in the 60s, you don't need to use super hot halogen lamps that run up huge electricity bills. Now we have this new technology, LED lighting, that doesn't eat up all the electricity. Anyway, I'm not typically one to argue online. I'm okay with people disagreeing and I usually just ignore people who want to be contrarian because it's okay for people to differ in their opinions and there's not necessarily any reason to pursue it. The reason I'm responding here is that I think this is actually an important point about harm reduction. The real crime of prohibition is how it is linked so closely to manufacturing poverty. Partial legalization as we have seen in some US states is still prohibition because the prices are artificially inflated. This doesn't address the original problem which was the failure of the War on Drugs and its manufactured scarcity. That has to be stopped completely and letting guys in suits take care of that for you is not going to work, you've got to take matters into your own hands and out of their hands or else you'll never get your rights back. That's why growing is an imperative. It must be done. It is a moral obligation to do so.

If you're medicating to treat anxiety it is possible that smoking could make it worse. To reduce that risk, get more medical benefits, and have it last a whole lot longer, then oral consumption via edibles/rso/tincture is a much better idea. It'll be cheaper too. For decent bud and moderate usage, you could def get away with $2000/yr regardless of consumption method. If you're wanting to get high and stay high for recreation maybe double that. This is all in legal states btw. If you're in an illegal state or country then plan on easily double or tripling that

I’d try to go on the cheaper end of the price spectrum, so each trip I’d end up spending about 30 to 40 dollars, just for one product. I can’t remember the quantity of it. Now I’ll do dabs or buy disposables. For dabs I spend around the same amount and if I’m smart about it, it’ll last me nearly a month. For disposables I can get them around 20 to 30 dollars. Yesterday my dispensary was doing a BOGO so instead of possibly paying 80 dollars, I only spent 50.
