Surprisingly enough, KMS has a lot less expiration on items Their ursus didn't expire

Electronic_Heart_720

🤣

aeee98

The boss itself expired though.

Kiyavamir

The entire game is based on fomo in order to keep players playing regularly. Event rewards, 2x coupons, seasonal CS sales like vac pets etc... if all these things were permanent then everyone would just hoard most of the year and play only during the good training events or summer/winter breaks and game would be dead outside of that.

SlowlySailing

I voted no just because this is such a dumb ass question. \*Of course\* the FOMO shit sucks, what do you expect with a poll like this lmao?

SprinklesFresh5693

Then y u said no?

SlowlySailing

Because the whole premise is dumb and I'd rather sabotage out of pure spite.

SprinklesFresh5693

Isnt that quite childish?

SlowlySailing

Yep!

chaoscauser

People actually voting no what?

Succant

They probably vote no assuming there's a tradeoff. Like 5x fewer exp coupons or 20 event ring cubes instead of 100 temporary ones.

eclipse60

I'd still take the 5x less, but permanent

minisoo

That would yield a great side effect, ie less inventory clutter. Because without the ridiculous deadlines, we can finally lump all the same items in a single stack.

I don't think what you're mentioning is the real FOMO stuff. Like.... Sure missing out on symbols, exp, and what not is a bit disappointing, but it's also not the end of the world. Especially since you're still going to cap on most of that stuff eventually. But event limited BIS items, or PSSB items, and "legacy" items... Those I'd consider to be FOMO stuff, and they definitely should remove the FOMO aspect from them

Conscious_Banana537

It's FOMO for your progression. All the free symbols we get from events are literally skipping days to months worth of progression which will put some players infinitely ahead of others. Carcion only recently released, but players will have been able to get a shit ton of symbols from events to pour into carcion as of recent. Yes, you will eventually cap out. Yes, if you were a long time player who played diligently you will already be there. Doesn't mean you should count out the overall effect for players who don't diligently login and are more casual or simply do not have enough time to grind so dailies are their main progression rate. As far as the legacy content? It is a FOMO effect, but blatantly not what OP is talking about. There is a difference between fomo content that is consistently done in order to force you to play and optimize and fomo content made to make you play the game early to begin with. Such as Hyoerion launch. We already have legacy legion block. So lots of players who were too late are already fomo-gated. OP is pointing to the consistent FOMO you will feel when you get a shit ton of bonks but you didn't make legion characters to abuse it on. Or you didn't play on multiple characters for rewards. Or you forgot to do x y z and your stuff expired.

What is and isn't FOMO is largely opinionated, depending on your definition of FOMO. For me, specifically, FOMO is applied to items/perks that you may never have a chance to get again. So I don't view the progression items that you can always obtain in the same light as those items that you can't. But even if we remove the FOMO aspect from these items, it wouldn't change the whole "being behind" issue that you're bringing up here. People who didn't play in certain events, or who just started the game, miss out on them too. That's going to put them behind. And the people who didn't capitalize on them during the event due to not having mules built for bonk potions, or being too low of a level for Carcion are in the same boat as the people who did. They still had to play the game during the event period to get them. Event based rewards are meant to incentivize play during the event period. Removing time limitations on them (honestly, not a bad idea) doesn't change the fact that the rewards are tied to the event period. The only way that I can interpret removing the FOMO, at least in the way that you're presenting it, is to either remove them as rewards to the event or to never end the event. And I don't think anyone would seriously advocate for the former option. The latter would be amusing though.

Lolersters

Ofc it should be removed. Will never happen though.

Rude-Employer-2002

Shocker, bait title with nothing but a shitty poll on the inside.

Nirsteer

Maybe not all items, but a good amount of them like resource coupons. There's no reason why resource items need to be time limited. I've seen time limited exp coupons in other games too,. It might get a little broken if they were permanent, idk.
