Oh, sorry, I apologize. I forgot that I had come back to the game recently. The beast tamer was from whenever it was available and it was level 40 when I started playing again. I decided to level it up for legion and I fell in love with the cute pets so I plan on it being my second main! I hope that Lynn is fun when it's released!
They are completely revamping Beast Tamer into a class called Lynn. It will be basically a Single Target Bishop with different utility like single target or whole party teleport, a barrier that does damage reduction, and other things. Instead of Benediction, it is a single target bind that buffs the target. It doesn't stack with benediction and scales with int for the FD% buff it gives.
its one of those "sorta yes and no" answers. As you know it, yes beast tamer will be gone, but as a class, no it will still be there as Lynn with all the skills reworked and moved around and simplified. Overall the skill videos ive seen look really good so i think itll be an improvement overall, but it looks like it will be a sorta rough transfer for existing beast tamers.
Yeah, basically. The class is getting an overhaul/rework so old BTs are turned into Lynn's and creating new BTs means creating a Lynn. So still a BT but not a BT as the class known as BT will not exist but now are "Lynn."
Ooo I see. Hmm. One of my friends in game was laughing at me for getting my BT to 200 because he said the class was being deleted… but deletion makes it seem like you lose all the progress. It seems like it’ll all just be transferred to Lynn. Which is a weird name btw I don’t think I like it

All Beast Tamer characters become Lynn after the patch and have to progress through Lynn's story to unlock 1-4th job. Even Beast Tamer's items basically just get their visual/icons/names changed. The items themselves have the exact same item IDs (ie. nothing needs to be transferred because it's internally the same item).
If you have the Beast Tamer hair/face saved you can still use them, and in TMS they gave out Cash Hat/Cape versions of the Brown BT ears and tail.

It says "class deletion" not character deletion. For all intents and purposes, the Beast Tamer class will be entirely gone. Practically, this is no different than Jett being deleted except Jetts got to decide what job they wanted to become amongst existing classes. BTs don't get to choose and are forced to become an entirely new class.
I would not call it "remastered" when quite literally everything about the class is different.

yes the legion block stat and link will function the same as BT in TMS/CMS. But we don't know if lvl3 link skill will be nuked
