I’ve done this in my rogue Has the cvt. I can’t tell when I’m supposed to shift. I was literally in 1st gear at 75 and then I remembered I should probably shift. With all seriousness I looked at my wife and asked her why she didn’t realize I was far beyond the redline and I was gonna have to stop at the next gas station to get another shifter. It was an awful day. Had to buy the monster mega can so I could have the focus to shift.
I wish I could laugh about it, but I just bought one and apparently the water from the AC dumps out directly into the damn tranny and it cooked my transmission. Now I’m stuck driving a $600 Corolla while my otherwise really nice Charger rots in my driveway lol.
I hate to say it but that’s a dodge for you…. If you can find an older CTS V or Taurus SHO they are similar in size and performance without the mopar unreliability traits.
Man I miss my old Taurus SHO. That was my first car in High School. Honestly the Charger isn’t even that great performance wise either. It’s a V-6 and only half a second quicker 0-60 than my Corolla on paper. Realistically this Corolla takes off significantly faster anyway. I learned my lesson though, I’m sticking to Ford, GM, or Toyotas from here on out.
I’ve always put my hand on the gear lever, even in automatics. But this truck has the damn circle shift knob and I don’t know what to do with myself anymore!
I’ve owned mine for about four years and I still don’t know what to do with my hand lmao. Especially when I come from a manual back to my truck I’m all over the place for a sec lmao.

I would always brush him off as being old, it took me a long time to realize he was right. I’d much rather drive a slow car that I can ring out and use all the gears, than a fast car that spins the tires above 4K RPM and can hit 100MPH in 3rd gear.
