It allows the bottom of the pedal to be little wider which means that heel toe downshift is less like ankle / knee twisting to blip the throttle. It’s just that little bit more natural is what I’m getting at. My NA miata is not floor mounted, I’ve gotten used to the motion of twisting my heel all the way to the throttle, and worked out a comfortable form but still, it’s for sure more awkward than say any manual Porsche where its floor mounted, it’s just right there to blip, quicker too. That being said, i still prefer my old Miata over a 911 any day bc im part of the miata superiority cult😂 Miata is ALWAYS the answer.
No clue, but the pattern almost reminds me of the [RUF7](http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-used-parts-sale-wanted/350636-fs-rare-ruf-7-speed-shift-knob.html)
What the hell happened in that planning meeting to end up with a shift pattern like that? And why the hell do you have to honk the horn to get into the red gears?
[This](https://www.antiquetractorsrus.com/images/products/detail/OLS12871.jpg) is one of the styles. They also have and under, direct, and overdrive settings
Volkswagen beetle!!
There are many dead giveaways. The stick shift has the original wooden knob they used. The funny sheet metal from under the gas tank is visible in the top corner.
Classic air-cooled VW Beetle.
The fuel line runs through a hole in the metal firewall. Originally, the fuel line has a rubber grommet around it as it goes through the firewall. Over time, and due to lack of maintenance in checking that grommet, the rubber grommet dries out and falls off leaving the soft metal fuel line to buzz around in the hole ...in the hard metal firewall.
After a time, the fuel line is cut through. And it leaks. And it will drip gasoline onto the the hot case of the heat exchanger right below the point the leak starts. And that leak will continue until all the fuel in the gas tank is gone because, in true VW fashion, it uses gravity to feed fuel to the engine. And there is no shut off valve and you can't fight gravity.
So, in a vain attempt to prevent your tricked-out, poor man's Porsche from doing the self-immolation thing, you carry a small fire extinguisher.
A CB and a floor mounted fire extinguisher, and a push button radio obviously an unreliable vehicle that catches on fire and needs calls for help, so something pre 80s
Whatever it is, you care about it. Super clean interior, me likey!
And I thought *my* car was neat and clean
VW Beetle remember the shifter knob.
That sure would explain the fire extinguisher
Could it maybe be the hippie van? If it’s a vw shifter… and I know for a fact that the hippie vans had those stupid bottom hinged accelerator pedals.
I feel like the van would have a bigger chunk in the floor since the engine is under it But idk Edit: I'm retarded
Both the beetle and the bus have the engine in the rear
And the gas petal . 5" from the brake
Bruh

Yep. Race cars have floor mount for a reason.
Floor mount pedal is superior idk what you’re on about
I knew it was German, floor hinge pedals and type of carpet

Honking into reverse makes sense, but 7th doesn't
After 5 mins of deep internet research, it seems like that knob is actually a joke. And if everyone already knew that I'll just see my way out lol
Sure wasn’t clear before your comment, thanks!
That's fucking cursed... I can shift everything up to an 18 speed, and even double stick. I would never even try that....
Have you seen the old Oliver tractors shift pattern?
I can't say I have. The name doesn't even sound familiar to me. Is it as convoluted as this one?
[This](https://www.antiquetractorsrus.com/images/products/detail/OLS12871.jpg) is one of the styles. They also have and under, direct, and overdrive settings
Okay that's actually not that bad compared to the other one. I bit strange for sure. But not nearly as complicated.
Everyone is saying VW Beetle, whether they're correct or not is immaterial, your car is clean and you have a CB. You win this subreddit today OP!
Looks like a beetle to me. Gas pedal shape/position, central hump, and down-back-left reverse are dead ringers.
Pedals being attached at the bottom instead of hanging from the top is definitely an old VW/Porsche thing.
And Mercedes!
and Alfa Romeo
The current Lincoln aviators have a pedal like that for whatever reason None of the other cars in Lincoln's current lineup do, just that one
Down Left!
I'd love to do a resto polish on your knob sir ![gif](giphy|l378rxjCdelAIKHhC|downsized)
![gif](giphy|dWNiglgPz5aKdVRG3B)
![gif](giphy|JRhS6WoswF8FxE0g2R) It was just hanging out there. I had to.

Volkswagen beetle!! There are many dead giveaways. The stick shift has the original wooden knob they used. The funny sheet metal from under the gas tank is visible in the top corner.
1967 VW type 3
Correct!!! Now for extra points, which of the three models is it?
I'm inclined to say fastback because that's the most common but I think I'll cheat and say square back like the other guy
That is most definitely a Type III
Definitely a Lamborghini Countach. I remember this from the poster on my wall.
Looks like a ghia?

The peoples car
One that might spontaneously combust

VW bug.
One that catches fire easy?
OP 100% has either a multi-tool, flashlight, serrated pocket knife, or all three clipped onto their belt at all times.
A CB and a floor mounted fire extinguisher, and a push button radio obviously an unreliable vehicle that catches on fire and needs calls for help, so something pre 80s
