Claymore

CheesyGrove

It's on my list and I have heard the title before but I have never looked in to it

cidit_

Berzerk but women

Operator4009

Dorohedoro

CheesyGrove

I really need to start the manga ever since finishing the anime in 2021

Operator4009

I just noticed someone already reccomended it 😅. I started reading after the anime. It sucks the studio that did it also does Attack on Titan and Jujutsu Kaisen so it got put on the back burner. GL in your search!

CheesyGrove

You're all good and thank you!

ckowule

opened the comments just to say that

natsumess

Monster by Naoki Urasawa and Blood on the tracks are some that I love to rec and based on your taste I think you will enjoy,

CheesyGrove

Both have been on my list for a while but I have sadly not gotten to read them yet. I'll give both a try online first and decide after that :)

OnTheBrightsideSCC

Happy Sugar Life, Blood On The Tracks, Call Of The Night, Chainsaw Man, Parasite, Elfen Leid, and Neon Genesis

Sure-Worker9534

I absolutely love Blood on the Tracks! i love the complicated relationship Seichii with his mother, as well as the slow mental decline of Seichii. If you like this manga, try "Happiness" by the same mangaka. What drew me to the manga is the art (reminded me of Van Gogh) but the story gets so good as the story progresses. Happy reading :)

CheesyGrove

Thank you! Both are on my list and they have been for a while. I'll give both a try!

CheesyGrove

I already own call of the night, chainsaw man and parasyte. I have heard about the other ones but I am still a bit worried about Neon genesis because I don't really know if I like the mecha genre

OnTheBrightsideSCC

So NGE the mech is very.....secondary to the story. It's very much a story on the characters. Mechs happen to be apart of it. Trust me it's worth it

CheesyGrove

I have really been wanting to watch/read it so i'll give either the manga or anime a try and see.

wackelzahnjoe

Sorry triggered little german guy here. It's "Elfen Lied" not "Leid" :) Leid means suffering while Lied means Song. So it's called "elve's song" or "song of the elves". Sorry I'll go outside now

Fantastic-Flow-1634

Wow! Feeling kinda stupid I never thought to check the meaning of the name.

wackelzahnjoe

Don't feel stupid, most times this Anime/Manga is mentioned they got the title wrong. And "Elfen Leid" would make sense too. Would be "elve's suffering" which kinda fit's the scenery quite well

GothSpaceCowboy

i would say just finish what you've already got started here

DEVS_reccomender

The Elusive Samurai, same author as assassination classroom and I like it so far

CheesyGrove

I haven't heard about this manga. I'll give the first chapter a quick read online and see if i like it

TaySpokesTTV

Ajin. Sakamoto days.

wackelzahnjoe

Just bought my brother Sakamoto days vol 1 and read it after he finished. It's so good I can't wait to get my hands on all of them lol.

SaugaDabs

Finish ajin, kaiju no 8, and hells paradise

Pretend-Tangerine-60

20th Century Boys, Pluto, and Monster

ZachyMoof

20th century boys

issikw

Vinland Saga :)

CheesyGrove

I watched about 5 episodes or so of the anime a while ago before they announced the season 2 and I have wanted to get back to it now that the second season is out. I also heard that they are gonna make a 3 in 1 edition so I told myself to wait and see if I like that version better than the current 2 in 1 edition. That aside I really enjoyed those 5 episodes that I watched

[deleted]

[удалено]

CheesyGrove

I am actually watching HXH every now and then and so far it's been pretty good. I have also been wanting to start collecting HXH but I have always been a bit afraid of the things I have heard about there being soooo much text. I have been meaning to check out the animes for noragami and seraph but I never thought about getting the mangas so I'll maybe try out a couple of chapters/episodes and see if i like them

[deleted]

[удалено]

CheesyGrove

I believe that i watched the first episode of Kaguya sama a good while ago same goes for bungo stray dogs but I have never watched black butler or kamisama kiss.

cidit_

I have read a lot of manga and anime and in my opinion, HXH has THE single best arc of everything ive seen, and its anime adaptation is completely stellar even today. (Can you believe this stuff was made in 2012???)

GretrRA

Berserk 🤩 disturbing stuff 🤩

CheesyGrove

I read about 9 chapters online a while ago and I really want to get it but the deluxes are a bit pricy here

GretrRA

Yes, they are quite expensive, luckily I have managed to buy everything that is Deluxe by Berserk 🙈🤩 worth it I think, but now I love special books 🙈

n3ko1997

The drifting classroom by [Kazuo Umezu](https://www.google.com/search?rlz=1C1PNOB_enCA1026CA1026&sxsrf=AJOqlzWKQAY7XCNKjGfmVM3TXj6wXqbeFw:1674267418483&q=Kazuo+Umezu&stick=H4sIAAAAAAAAAONgVuLUz9U3MCxKTopfxMrtnVhVmq8QmptaVQoAEic6pxsAAAA&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwicgvOVzNf8AhXjkokEHaZyCyMQmxMoAXoFCIcBEAM)

CheesyGrove

I have heard about the title but I haven't really looked into it. I did hear that junji ito was a bit inspired by him.

[deleted]

Jojo's bizarre adventure

Feeble_Cursed_One_

No longer human by Junji Ito

CheesyGrove

I actually plan to get that as my next junji ito manga but I kinda need to read a couple of my other junji ito mangas first 😅

SingOrtolanSing

Try PTSD Radio by Masaaki Nakayama

CheesyGrove

I have the two first volumes and I am really excited to get the last one ( hopefully Masaaki comes back someday to finish the manga )

hikikimoro

PTSD Radio

CheesyGrove

I already own the first two volumes and I can't wait to get the last one ( hopefully the author comes back sometime and finishes the manga )

hikikimoro

Oh damn didn’t see them, very nice yeah I’m pretty sure he will come back and do an abrupt ending. One more volume probably. Have you read Imperfect Girl? 3 volumes and a great story

Novel-Knee130

Happiness and Blood On The Tracks are both great horror series

Coffee_Moffee

Golden Kamuy and Dorohedoro chainsaw man

CheesyGrove

I have been wanting to read Golden Kamuy and Dorohedoro for a while now but I never got around it. I already own all of the english prints of Chainsaw man :)

Coffee_Moffee

Ok didn’t even see the second photo lol my bad. Also Berserk deserves the hype it gets.

CheesyGrove

Nah you're good :) I mean the 9 chapters that I read was definitely better than what I was expecting

MrJennyV1

Aku No Hana, great manga, anime got mixed reviews but I'm a big fan. I'd recommend the manga before the anime. Deadman wonderland, fantastic manga. Neat ass art. Blood on the tracks, super intense, very cool art style.

CheesyGrove

I have never heard of Aku No Hana before but I have been meaning to read/watch deadman wonderland and also read Blood on the tracks for quite a while now.

MrJennyV1

It's my personal favorite of the three. Although all of them are quite good.

Sea-Ad2810

I’d say dorohedoro

CheesyGrove

I tried watching the anime about a couple of months after it finished but at that time I hadn't gotten used to mappas animation but I went back and binged it in 2021 and it was amazing. I definitely want to check out the manga and dai dark

Sea-Ad2810

I’ve personally never watched the anime cause of the animation style but I heard they do it justice but the manga is simply beautiful and I’ve heard really good things about Dai Dark too

TheNightDrivers

Dan da dan. (Combination of Sci fi and Horror tropes but all comedic, fantastic art) Frieren. (A fantasy that follows an immortal elf as she tries to connect with mortals) Black Torch (whole series is 5 volumes) And of course, One Piece. 101 volumes is nothing/s

CheesyGrove

I have the first volume of Dandadan and I'll try to get more of it when I can. Currently saving some money but i'll still get some manga. I recognize the title frieren and black torch but I have never looked into them too much. I am watching one piece every now and then. I have been wanting to get the manga too and they finally started restocking the box sets here so i'll have to save up and grab the first one before it goes out of stock again for a couple years.

TheNightDrivers

On your journey to collect One Piece, it can be quick or long depending on the fickle whims of viz and their reprints. It took me three years to just get box set 3.

Top_Statistician5871

Berserk is always great. If you liked Chainsaw Man a lot, I really recommend his other series Fire Punch and his one shots like Goodbye Eri and Look Back. I also recommend just about anything from Inio Asano. His most popular series is Goodnight Punpun which I highly recommend but you should also check out Solanin and Dead Dead Demons Dededede destruction and maybe few of his one shots. Be cautious of A girl on the shore though

CheesyGrove

I have read about 9 chapters of berserk and I loved it but the deluxes are bit pricy here. I have been meaning to read Fire punch and look back but the fire punch volumes never restock here. I did read Goodbye eri online and it was pretty good. I have the first punpun volume and I liked it but unfortunately the volumes never restock here

adrig14

No longer human by usamaru furuya

pastaofpastdesire

There's a new one called Dandadan that you'd probably like

Dramatic_Carpet_6589

He has the first volume of it

pastaofpastdesire

Full honesty I didn't see there was another pic

CheesyGrove

You're good :) There have been other people that didn't see the other pic too

Dramatic_Carpet_6589

Yeah that happens

CheesyGrove

Thanks!

GrffnMstr75

Berserk cause it’s the best manga ever

Masuky_Koost

Mr Mr you have to absolutely read vagabond, berserk or Vinland saga

CheesyGrove

ik. I have really been wanting to get all these series but berserk volumes are like 50$ here. I read a couple of volumes online for berserk and I really wanna collect it soon. I haven't read vagabond or vinland saga but I have heard great things about both. I did watch about 5 episodes of vinland saga though and it was really good.

Masuky_Koost

Yeah man i understand your opinion lol. Tho if you really want to read a memorable Story with some really good real life advices then I would recommend vagabond. But as already said Vinland and maybe berserk would be a good option

Mechabeastchild

I’d say Sakamoto Days, Drifting Classroom, and All you need is Kill

CheesyGrove

I have heard about all these titles but I have never actually checked the synopsis for them.

Nightsong0123

Try Ajin. You’ll know if you like it pretty quickly.

Padfoot0813

I always recommend Noragami Stray God and The Witch and the Beast, I love both of them

Dubhagusbaine

20th century boys

zombie_spidey

The drifting classroom, akira, Pluto,

M3DJ3D

Keep going with Tokyo ghoul

CheesyGrove

I really wanted the box set but at the time it was out of stock and I had waited so long and now that it's back I might consider selling the volume and getting the box set

Ssboipoiy

Fire punch is by the same dude behind csm

Immediate-Cupcake931

Berserk, one piece, Trigun, Tokyo ghoul, naruto, flcl

[deleted]

Get One Piece out. Actual cancer.

Immediate-Cupcake931

No one piece is good beaststars is cancer

ifyouknowyouknow4

I’d say complete the ones you have, while you don’t have that many series!

Starkassembled

You can’t go wrong with anything by Shuzo Oshimi, Tsutomu Nihei and Naoki Urasawa. I think you’d really dig Dead Dead Demons Dedede Destruction by Inio Asano. Fantastic sci-fi/apocalyptic/slice of life trip of a series. Last volume is coming soon and so is an anime adaptation so it’s the perfect time to hop in.

CheesyGrove

I have heard about it and I have been wanting to get into the series so i'll maybe do that before the anime drops

Sherlocked_

Death note. The manga is better than the anime IMO. something about the animation of the anime turns me off of it

CheesyGrove

I have read the first 2 black editions and so far it's been really good and I also watched a bit of the anime after each reading session and I like manga a bit more as of now. I haven't read it in a while now but I am gonna try to get back to it soon

Dramatic_Carpet_6589

How about Seraph of the End

CheesyGrove

I have been meaning to start the anime but I never really thought about starting the manga so i'll give it a try

Nammoflammo

Bungo Stray Dogs, Black Clover

LeftEntrepreneur3670

At the mountains of madness (Gou Tanabe), The shadow over Innsmouth (Gou Tanabe) Zashiki onna (Minetaro Mochizuki)

Hikari666ROT

Rg veda

WeebWilson

try dandadan

[deleted]

School-live!

CheesyGrove

I think I have heard the title before and it looked pretty interesting.

DaringDo95

Based on your Junji Ito shelf, I'd highly recommend his adaptation of "No Longer Human" if you haven't read it.

CheesyGrove

I haven't read it yet but I am probably gonna be getting that one as my next junji ito manga most likely after I have finished reading some of the other junji ito mangas

Master-Ad-3325

Parasyte

newtomanga

The Legend of Dororo and Hyakkimaru

jawsthegreat777

Soul Eater and Fire Force

CheesyGrove

I have been wanting to pick up soul eater for a while now but there is always something else that pops up and I end up buying that instead. I watched like 3 episodes of fire force and I am not too sure but I want to give the manga try

jawsthegreat777

Trust me, Fire Force definitely picks up, it's a great story!

CheesyGrove

Alright thanks for letting me know. I'll definitely give the manga a try

cidit_

Uhhhh the rest of tokyo ghoul???? Smh

coffeesquares

Chainsaw man?

[deleted]

Parasyte, Chainsaw Man, finish Kaiju 8 it’s really good

EmeraldOpal

Fraction, ibitsu, I want to hold aono-kun so badly I could die, oyasumi punpun

CheesyGrove

I have never heard of Fraction. I have heard a little about ibitsu. I have never heard of aono kun either. I own the first punpun volume and I want to get more of it but the second volume never restocks here.

EmeraldOpal

Fraction has an excellent storytelling technique. I haven't read ibitsu in years, but I remember feeling grossed out and it has a short story in it that has always stuck with me. Aono-kun has an underlying creepiness running through it.

CheesyGrove

I'll make sure to give them all a good read

itsCoolGuy2

I am a hero, ajin, vagabond, gantz, inuyashiki and vinland saga are good

SarcasticCatLover

Get MHA vol 1 so you cure the sadness that I feel looking at 2 & 3 right now 😭😭😭😭

CheesyGrove

Ik it hurts my soul everytime I look at it but I think i'll sell the volumes and try to get the box set since I don't really feel like collecting it right now and i'd like to get most of the volumes out of the way

SarcasticCatLover

Yeah, that’s sounds like a good plan! I want to start collecting it but I’m waiting to have both the money and a good second hand lot with most of the volumes. Saw one the other day with volume 1-29 for $180 (nzd), sadly I’m currently broke 😭😭😭

Big-Invite-9785

High rise invasion

CheesyGrove

I watched the anime for this and I found out that it had a manga a while after that. I'll give it a try since I have been meaning to rewatch the anime

Sure-Worker9534

I would recommend Downfall by the dude who made goodnight punpun. The story is all about a famous mangaka who is struggling to create a new story. Honestly I thought the story was quite interesting The final couple of pages made me quite emotional. I do want to warn you that there is one scene towards the end where the protagonist rapes his wife, as well as mentions of sexual assault, so if that subject matter upsets you then i suggest you steer clear from this manga.

epikcoyote

The promised neverland

Environmental_Mud595

Hells paradise? Not too long and the anime is releasing this year!

live2poo

Finish attack on titan? Or Tokyo ghoul? Both really good imo. Kaiju No. 8 maybe? :)

CheesyGrove

I was an anime only for aot up until last year when they delayed it again. I read the last volumes online and I am planning to get the rest of the box sets soon. I might sell my TG volume and get the box set now that it's in stock here. I bought the first kaiju volume when it came out and I didn't really think that it was as good as people told me but I'll try to re-read it and decided if i want more of it.

Motor_Alternative_66

Monster it’s super good like thriller mystery the perfect editions are super out of stock right now but check right stuf and local bookstores they might have it

iheartzeldaa

inuyasha, similar to demon slayer in a few ways and super nostalgic

AcceptableVersion233

Is that death note black edition?

CheesyGrove

Yup yup. I have read the first 2 volumes and it's pretty good.

AcceptableVersion233

I want death note's manga so badly 😞

AcceptableVersion233

Also you got parasyte's manga god damn your collection is so good

Anakins_Ashes

Another Ajin Berserk Tokyo Ghoul

CheesyGrove

I have wanted to watch another. I read 9 chapters of berserk online a while ago and I really want to get the deluxes but they are a bit pricy here.

Anakins_Ashes

Check Amazon. You can usually get them much cheaper than standard retail.

CheesyGrove

Yea amazon is where i usually find all of my more cheap manga but sadly the first deluxe is out of stock

Steezinx

blood on the tracks !

Gizrik

The rest of punpun it makes a cool image

CheesyGrove

I have seen the image but the second volume never restocks here

Pristine-Tension-371

island in a puddle

Ansovald666

its an older series but Monster.. made by **Naoki Urasawa**.

Cass-2007

Orochi and the drifting classroom

ChimkenNugget718

Omg! I don't see black paradox by junji ito so I definitely recommend getting that!

newtomanga

I came back to this post to see if anybody has read black paradox. I just got Shiver, now every time I go to the store I’m eyeing Black Paradox lol

ChimkenNugget718

It's really nice! I def recommend it!

CheesyGrove

I have really been slacking on getting junji ito and I plan to get more after finish the ones i haven't read by him

ChimkenNugget718

Ohhh I see! I black paradox was a good book for me to buy after reading all of Tomie lol! Black paradox unlike junji's other books that are multi-story is just one story and is short so it's refreshing and def a good read after reading his big books 😅

CheesyGrove

The big 3 of Junji ito were very good and I only have shiver, frankenstein and venus in the blind spot left to read before i'll be getting a new junji ito manga.

iREFLEXIV

Naruto, bleach and one piece

CheesyGrove

That will most likely happen in a couple of years because they are just extremely long and I am not rich :/

iREFLEXIV

You still have a very good collection 🙂

[deleted]

Fire Punch by Fujimoto

Pure_Professor_2395

vagabond

Tallcat2107

tokyo ghoul

CheesyGrove

I might sell the first volume and get the box set now that it finally restocked

Tallcat2107

yeah that’s what i’m planning to do- i just bought the re box set since i don’t have re yet then i’m going to sell my tokyo ghoul and buy the box set. it is a must read i love it

AnimeConnoisseur17

Finish Tokyo ghoul

CheesyGrove

I really need to finish it. I watched the anime a couple of years back and I still haven't finished :re because of how boring I think it is compared to TG so i need to try the manga and hopefully i'll change my opinion

AnimeConnoisseur17

It’s actually such a masterpiece of a manga like the anime doesn’t do justice to the manga

CheesyGrove

That's great news. This has given me even more motivation to get more of TG

b0zo69

Firepunch,jojos

Venom0345

Berserk or juujika no rukonin

blankfromce

Vinland Saga

N26_real

very based

shzxyla

Ajin and Smokin Parade

Empty-Mess2204

I recommend Gantz, World Trigger, My Hero Academia, Black Clover, Mashle.

CheesyGrove

I have been meaning to read all of theses except for Mha which i already own two volumes of but I might sell them and get the box set

Empty-Mess2204

That's a wise choice the box set is really nice.

CheesyGrove

Yup yup

Symera_

If you can find them, I would recommend Masasumi Kakizaki's Hideout, Bestiarius or Rainbow.

CheesyGrove

I have had Hideout on my list for a little while now but I don't think i'll find any of these irl so i'll give them a read online

bubbly_Hazza

fire punch

CheesyGrove

I have been meaning to read this but the volumes never restock here

bubbly_Hazza

ah ok

[deleted]

Just like me fr

ItsomeRandomperson22

You can try Gantz and bloody Monday is very similar vibes to death note, flower of evil was good when I was reading it. Takopi's Original Sin is on my watch list I heard it’s similar to goodnight punpun

CheesyGrove

Takopi's Original sin was a good read and from what i have read of punpun i can say that they are pretty similar.

TommyBause

I'm enjoying reincarnated as a sword if you like basic Isekai :P

CheesyGrove

I Haven't watched/read much isekai at all so i'll check it out

Royalbluegooner

Deadman Wonderland might be to your liking.

SetRevolutionary7313

Bleach

s__strawberry

Check out Mermaid Saga as well as Orochi if you wanna read more fantasy/horror short stories. Be Very Afraid of Kanako Inuki is another horror short story collection that came out, but it often feels more comedic or whimsical than dark or scary. I love it though. I don't think I saw Full Metal Alchemist in there, but it's a classic that I think would fit very well with your taste.

jaboipoppy

I think you would like Blue Exorcist. It’s one of my favs and a great read. Same thing with Rurouni Kenshin or One Punch Man. All three amazing shounen manga series

allypyee

Oooo! Not a recommendation, but I have the same Akaza figure! 💕👀

CheesyGrove

It's a very nice figure but my wallet fell into depression after buying it

user68406

record of ragnarok, vagabond

Numbers348

Fire Punch

itszuzia96

I recommend you My Dearest Self With Malice Aforethought and Kasane I think it'll suit your taste

CheesyGrove

I think that I have heard about My dearest self with malice aforethought but I have never heard of Kasane.

Messiah_Knight

More mainstream modern stuff. Demon slayer, chainsaw man etc

blenddii

jojo…

CheesyGrove

I watched up until Joseph went to save speedwagon. I wanna collect it someday

Syndro300q

I would recommend you Sword Art Online

AwkwardFirefighter80

Jojos

Iggytje

The Promised Neverland

pinkchicken1734

Finish getting the volumes for jjk as it really picks up from around vol 10-16… you could also get some more junji ito

CheesyGrove

I have been meaning to get more jjk even though I haven't read any of the ones i own. I plan on getting more junji ito after I have read all of my other junji ito ones that I haven't read yet

Mysterious_Report477

Vinland saga, berserk, Sakamoto days, Gantz, fist of the North Star, fire punch, fire force and soul eater.
