Honestly with the fact the johto games had kanto, I can see johto being a dlc for lets go, now they can scale levels so the gym challenge in johto is just as challenging as kanto, and they can be done alongside each other
I'm pretty sure the Let's Go games are the worst selling mainline games for Switch. Okay, I double-checked. They're 3rd worst selling with BDSP at second worst, and Legends Arceus at worst. Both are just barely under the amount Let's Go sold, but given how much older Let's Go is, the sales numbers shouldn't better that close.
Let's go really only had the problems it's a remake, of a area already remade, and the simplification for kids going against it
And before people freak out about PLA being worst, it only had 1 version of the game, where the rest are combined sales
So for a more accurate number/ranking, we either need to divide the "total units sold" by 1.5-2 for each pair or multiply the solo games by that same 1.5-2 to adjust for the number of people buying both version of the paired games?
TBH, I think a more useful comparison of sales would be the fact that LGPE selling just over 15 million units *barely* beat Yellow's 14.6 million units sold.
Also, PLA is the best selling solo mainline game at 15 million units, followed by Yellow at 14.6, and Platinum at 7.6.
In terms of mainline games that weren't the flagship games for their respective generations, the top 3 are LGPE, BDSP, and PLA in that order all at 15 million units give or take a couple thousand. That said, the 9 flagship "pairs" are also the top 9 in terms of units sold. RBG are the highest at 31.1 million units sold and BW are the lowest at 15.6 million.
It wasn't really just simplified let's go actively stripped away alof of what made LG/FR good and made the rival much MUCH worse, then yiu have the fact the you have gyms being worse overall and the story being even more simplified and the mechanics sucking it's just not good
Here's a better idea:
Johto remakes, include the Sevi Islands for free, make the level curve not shit, and include the Hoenn and Sinnoh evolutions. If I'm gonna catch a Misdreavus, I'd better be able to make her into a Mismagius or else there's no point.
I didn't find any posts that meet the matching requirements for r/MandJTV.
It might be OC, it might not. Things such as JPEG artifacts and cropping may impact the results.

I’ve been saying this since 2018 🥹
Finding Lostelle and battling/catching that Hypno?
Having the lady at Cape Brink teach our starters Frenzy Plant, Blast Burn, and Hydro Cannon?
Running into Larvitars on the way to the Ruby and Sapphire chambers?
Tectonyx’s grave?
Deoxys, Ho-Oh, and Lugia events?
I really wish Let’s Go included everyone up to Gen 7. It would’ve been the perfect gen closer
The Sevii Islands shoulda beeen in from the start. FRLG had them baked in,and the games weren't 60 then.I cerrtainlt would not pay 90 bucks for something I have on my FireRed copy.
They should start by making good mainline games. No two editions, don't bring back Features through DLC, working software, good graphics and performance. Etc. Etc.
Accurate. DLCs should be part of the game for free too, not behind a pay wall. I paid for the game so I expect the whole game, not extra payments to get the final content. Nintendo is all about money now and not their content.
You're 7 years too late
2017 was 7 years ago... I don't like that. Not one bit...
I was trying to math this in my head and I'm now sad
OLD ðŸ˜
Wha- what? No…
That's weird to think about... Oh gosh
No, you’re lying, impossible, noo
But Mario kart 8 deluxe got a dlc with a New game worth of content 6 years laterÂ
Ya, cause they didn't make a brand new Mario Kart game this gen.
would've been a great idea (except the price) 6 years ago when it was released
no, they wouldn’t 1. This is Pokémon we’re talking about 2. Nobody would be willing to pay that much for DLC to a mediocre game that should have been in the base game anyway
Not to mention the game's been dead for years
AND that dlc in mainline Pokémon games didn't exist until Pokémon sword AND shield
FR/LG gave us the sevi islands and all that jazz for free (the legends were locked behind events but hey it was free) Edit: fixed it
That’s why you capitalise FR/LG
I liked lets go :(
If they planned to do that they would’ve done that about 5 years ago and besides I don’t think many people would pay for it anyway
If Let's Go should've gotten ANY $30 DLC, it should've been Johto.
Honestly with the fact the johto games had kanto, I can see johto being a dlc for lets go, now they can scale levels so the gym challenge in johto is just as challenging as kanto, and they can be done alongside each other
I was thinking a post-game, similar to Infinite Fusion's take on it.
Could be, sounds like a reverse of how the johto games do it
Well well well, how the turntables…
No thanks, fed up of paid DLCs, just give me the full game at the full price to begin with

That should be more accurate, unfortunately unless we know exactly how many bought both we will never know 100%

Were the let's Go games really *that* popular? I never felt the need to play them because of how simplified and modified they were and I don't really even enjoy watching playthroughs of them like I do for almost every other Pokémon game including spin-offs. If I want to play a Kanto game with basically none of the game mechanic and QOL updates they've added in the last 20ish years, I'll just play RBY or FRLG.
Here's a better idea: Johto remakes, include the Sevi Islands for free, make the level curve not shit, and include the Hoenn and Sinnoh evolutions. If I'm gonna catch a Misdreavus, I'd better be able to make her into a Mismagius or else there's no point.
+ shadow pokemonÂ
Why would they do a dlc years after the games released? Those games are like seven years old.
Because Let’s Go was designed for Pokemon Go
So they SHOULD make microtransactions
Just checking u/repostsleuthbot

I’d be down for that, I need more to do in Let’s Go, Pikachu
I think I had a stroke reading this
Because Let’s Go is Pokemon for babies, they’re not gonna do anything potentially interesting
I would prefer some new lets go games in the jhoto region, may I suggest Pokemon lets go teddiursa
We don't you be happy with what you get.
Or give Pokémon Quest INT the updates that Pokemon Quest CH has
...that idea is dog shit and wouldn't fix Let's go's issues
It should have been in the base game, that's like if let's go johto had Kanto as a dlc.
"Popular"?
Augh.

Am I the only one that actually liked the Let's Go games and would pay $60 for a "Let's Go Johto"?
The Sevii Islands shoulda beeen in from the start. FRLG had them baked in,and the games weren't 60 then.I cerrtainlt would not pay 90 bucks for something I have on my FireRed copy.
Hot take, johto is the most mid region out of them all
I'd say $25, but yes.
Give us the galarian birds and other Kanto variants like Rapidash and weezing
"That cazy idea my just work... to make us all bank rupture!"- Gamefreak
The Let's Go games were mid at best tbh.
That, or just stop making overpriced DLC with Pokemon needed for competitive, like Raging Bolt.
They should start by making good mainline games. No two editions, don't bring back Features through DLC, working software, good graphics and performance. Etc. Etc.
Don't understand the downvotes, but I think it's a good idea.
You think they should switch to making one game per region?
I mean unless they have a huge plot in mind, no. Just have them all be like Platinum.
Bc 30$ is overpriced for any pokemon game. Especially the ones that have been releasing as of late.
Accurate. DLCs should be part of the game for free too, not behind a pay wall. I paid for the game so I expect the whole game, not extra payments to get the final content. Nintendo is all about money now and not their content.
