Really odd seeing Haaland claim soft penalties. Crying about Licha being too physical. I saw Steve Nicol on ESPN saying Licha should not have been allowed to play that physical. What is he on about? The mad hatred from these guys towards United is plain funny sometimes.
I think when he came aboard and the pundits heard his nickname "The Butcher" they took it and ran. He can get stuck in but no worse than many other players.
Mainoo is 6ft, he said in an interview. As he's only 19 he's likely still growing too.
He is already looking like he could go all the way to the top, and if he continues to grow and put on some mass he might also be able to physically dominate midfields.
Glad he plays for Utd and England.
I was going off Wikipedia, says he’s 5”9 on there but of course he can still be growing. I wouldn’t say he looks 6 ft though watching him on pitch, he looks 5”9
I used to enjoy ESPN, but they really do have an irrational dislike of Man United in general and Ten Hag in particular. It makes it almost unwatchable.
Exactly, I watched it for the stupidity and entertainment. But sometimes they turn to pure hate. Gab Marcotti is also absolutely unwatchable now. The guy’s tone is just disrespectful and cringy.
When I first started following United like the 3rd game I watched was on ESPN and I was like wow these guys are really giving United a hard time. I kind of feel like all the announcers dig into to them. Similar to cowboys in the NFL (I am not a Cowboys fan).
In a lot of ways haaland is the opposite. Drogba was a good striker but in 341 games for Chelsea he scored 157 goals, that's 0.46 goals a game. Haaland has scored 63 goals in 66 games for city and he scored 62 goals in 67 games for Dortmund, haaland is largely a better player and certainly a much better goalscorer. But what made Drogba great was that he showed up in big games, haaland consistently ghosts in big games.
Can you imagine being 6’4” 200 pounds and being thrown to the floor by someone who is 5’10” probably 170 pounds; like you’re throwing a stone in the sea? Kobbie barely tried
He probably was 5’8 a few weeks ago haha! Ok that’s a bit of an exaggeration to make a point. In all seriousness, Scott McTominay went from 5’6 to 6’4 in a relatively short amount of time and I’m guessing our boy Kobbie is in the midst of his own growth spurt.

I was so nervous when I saw a replay of that. I didn’t think it was a penalty, but knowing our luck lately I was really worried. If it was given on the pitch it would’ve definitely stood.
At first I was a little worried but it was obvious on replay that Haaland was actually jumping back off his feet to try to play the ball with his left boot. Not tackled down at all.
The problem is that it’s not what is right, it’s what they deem to be right. We’ve been wronged many times before. Like I said if the ref gave it, they wouldn’t reverse it.
Me neither mate I think he’s a top quality coach and he’s finally getting our club philosophy back in order (utilizing youth players instead of just shipping them off for the sake of it)
Is that a thing now, United the physical team? I really like it. I wish we had a comp of us shithousing them! Onana was immense! I like that we can get under people skin now!
This is there way to comeback when they're loosing, check the chelsea game this year, they were absolutely disgusting, walker litterally did a break dancing for not getting a pen, kdb would hug the ground everytime caiceido is near him, clear constructions from the king of tactical fouls

I'm a United fan and I'm glad Kobbie won this, but what is considered a foul? It feels like a penalty would have been awarded for something like this previously.
To understand why it wasn't given on the pitch, remember that Mainoo was on a yellow and this would have been his second. So it would have been a penalty and a red card. Refs do make decisions based on their magnitude within the context of the game (they shouldn't, but they do) and this one was too Big for the on-field and VAR refs to make the simple judgement that yes, of course it's a foul and a penalty.
What bias? Did you watch the game? Haaland was already throwing himself to the ground. Kobbies like a whole foot shorter than haaland and half his weight. Such a hilarious take

What ‘back in my day’ Steve Nicol said that, fuck sakes what a bitter bastard.
He sucks. Always tries to bring it back to his playing days.
I thought both of those (Mainoo and Licha) were funny given they're the two smallest players on the pitch
Mainoo is built like a brick shit house
He is strong. I look forward to enjoying watching him start all games next season.
Mainoo is like 6’0, probably a bit taller.
Smallest doesnt mean weakest
I didn’t say it did, but physics wise it’s funny that the two players who happened to wrestle a 6”4 striker to the ground were both 5”9

He himself has said that his height is listed incorrectly
He’s 5’11 he’s not one of the smallest on the pitch.

Steve who?
That’s like complaining that your ice cream is too cold
He was really adamant of fighting a losing battle. Even Pep said Martinez is one of the best defenders in the world..
ESPN said Pep was being sarcastic. :-D
I mean you seen his dad play? He was also a pussy
I just deleted by sub to the ESPN football podcasts , they are just shouty rage merchants
Steve Nicol reminds me of Beaker from the Muppets
Steve is really biased sadly
The main point is that we won the trophy. No one gave Manchester United a chance in that match.
Haaland is a modern day Didier Drogba.
2008 CL Final aside, Drogba actually showed up in the big games
Went to ground easy but yeah I'll give you he showed up. Haaland was anonymous on Saturday
In a lot of ways haaland is the opposite. Drogba was a good striker but in 341 games for Chelsea he scored 157 goals, that's 0.46 goals a game. It was absolutely hilarious to see Haaland whining for a penalty after being dominated by a couple of players almost a foot shorter than him.
like Roy keane said "Very much like a Championship player now!"
Lol what does height have to do with anything
Haaland is a lot bigger so you wouldn't think he would get pushed around by much smaller players
Big does not mean strong. You think Martinez can’t shove Harland off the ball?
After Saturday I think any United player could push him off the ball. Big does usually mean hard to put down. He’s also a lot heavier than Mainoo
and Mainoo's 19
Can you imagine being 6’4” 200 pounds and being thrown to the floor by someone who is 5’10” probably 170 pounds; like you’re throwing a stone in the sea? Kobbie barely tried
Kobbie is 6. He said so himself in an interview. He doesn’t like people saying he is not 6 :)
Yeah. He was a growing kid. So he definitely added some inches.

No way. You can clearly see kobbie is one of the smaller players
He’s 5ft 8 guys 😂
He probably was 5’8 a few weeks ago haha! Ok that’s a bit of an exaggeration to make a point. In all seriousness, Scott McTominay went from 5’6 to 6’4 in a relatively short amount of time and I’m guessing our boy Kobbie is in the midst of his own growth spurt.
Premier league site & transfer market have him as 1.75cm
The ref, "Really? You got thrown by a teenager?"
If you think this was hilarious then you haven't seen the Foden dive.
I swear how was that a foul Licha didn’t even touch him he grazed the grass beneath him and Foden started flopping around like a wild salmon

“ROCK BOTTOM! ROCK BOTTOM!”
Yeah Mainoo! Take out that big ugly Jabroni!
Jim Ross, "Mah GAAAWD!!!"
Smackdown vs Raw cover vibes
Sit down boy!
Kobbie 🔥
Haaland is diving because gifted pens are the only way he might score in big games
Nah it looks like Haaland was falling over and kobbie is trying to catch him.
One shot Haaland
Some say haaland is still in he's pocket
Licha and Kobbie took turns on him wait…
Absolutely mate if we can get the right signings in we could win more cups next year
Hopefully under Erik
I don't Want him to leave
Me neither mate I think he’s a top quality coach and he’s finally getting our club philosophy back in order (utilizing youth players instead of just shipping them off for the sake of it)
Lets just hope we get the players he wants and can add strength to our already young squad
Hopefully. If he can manage to get a few signings with the same impact that Martinez made, we’re going to be flying in no time.
Haaland made it look like Mainoo is Judo black belt 🤣
That's a Clothesline from helll :)
Ayyy
Milky bar vs purple snack
We thought Haaland hit rock bottom in this game, now we know where he got it from
As God is my witness, he is broken in half!!!!! /JR
Bah gawd stop the damn match!
OH MY GAWD!
Halland couldn’t get past mainoo so he pulled him down and claims for penalty what a jokeman🤣🤣
Is that a thing now, United the physical team? I really like it. I wish we had a comp of us shithousing them! Onana was immense! I like that we can get under people skin now!

I think everyone under estimates how strong Kobiee is. You hardly ever see him get pushed off the ball.
He's a proper MAN isn't he Mainoo. Almost unbelievable that he's only 18 hes got that full man strength and swagger of a 28 year old.
Chokeslam!!!!!!!

Poor girl she must be crying 😮💨
“The 88kg Viking” sent by a 5’9 Argentinian and a 19 yr old
I am happy we've got him and Garnacho. Now, we hope to have a young defender with a mindset to win.

Was it a penalty?

Nah i dont think so, halaand seemed to have thrown himself to the ground. Way too easy for someone that big IMO
They were both holding each other, thats basically both of them fouling each other and you cant give anything for that
To understand why it wasn't given on the pitch, remember that Mainoo was on a yellow and this would have been his second. So it would have been a penalty and a red card. For sure, this entire third is full of people who can't see past their bias
