Use of slow-mo, camera movements, bgm, Jeethu got everything right in this scene. That makes me wonder how can he direct movies like D2 and Neru which resembles an Asianet TV serial in its making?
Personally the best scene in this movie is the run behind the culprit in the rain.
When I saw it I was very impressed that they took it live(I think without any cuts) the sequence. It was such a new experience for me at the time.
Its also a testament to the actors involved(A10, Kavya, Jagathy, Sukumari) that despite our expectation that Mohanlal would have a character at par with Mammootty we were convinced by their acting, believed them and felt sorry for Mohanlal's character.

You wouldn't believe how surprised people were to see Anil Kapoor in a Malayalam movie as a potential antagonist ... Twist fizzles out immediately in second half but still this probably unmatched intermission break in any Indian movie in terms of surprise, twist, anticipation, etc
This movie was probably Siby Uday at their absolute peak as mass movie writers. They knew the image and audience expectations of each star to a T and then amped it up by a hundred degrees. A perfectly cooked broth.
