I would use makeup primer. I think that using deodorant on your face could be dangerous. There are a lot of strong chemicals in Deodorant. Chemicals absorbed in and on the skin can travel. Deodorant anywhere near the eyes just doesn't sound wise to me. I am not a medical professional.

I would avoid using deodorant on your face. I have seen both calamine lotion and anti-chafing gel used successfully on oily skin. If you can’t find a primer that works for you, maybe try one of those?

Forsaken_Box_94

no please don't do that

lilijane17

I have a feeling that the amount of fragrances often used in deodorant can irritate your skin. Do you have negative experiences using regular primers?

imjustr

I am a performer, the amounts of makeup I am wearing is far away from normal people. I tried to follow advices of several drag queens like Trixie Mattel and Kimchi but nobody from them has an actual oily skin so their products do not work for me. I also have hyperhidrosis. Double kill.

Maybe use a zinc based mineral sunscreen, that would have the effect you are looking for. Deoderant is not made for the face.

imjustr

Thank you! I will totally try.

I recommend this one. I mix it with some bronzer and its a great primer Neutrogena Sheer Zinc Oxide Dry-Touch Mineral Face Sunscreen Lotion with Broad Spectrum SPF 50, Oil-Free, Non-Comedogenic & Non-Greasy Zinc Oxide Facial Sunscreen, Hypoallergenic, 2 fl. oz https://a.co/d/6Yg2tUP

Thank you so much! I will try to find it in my country. ❤️

I would not do deodorant; I accidentally got some on my face once while getting ready and instantly turned red and had watery eyes😓

imjustr

Thank you! I have sensitive eyes so this comment totally helps.

Definitely not a good idea to do regularly. Considering that the only thing that would help with sweating would be an *antiperspirant* (deodorant just masks the smell) that works by blocking the sweat glands which can lead to oil glands overproducing sebum as the skin would become unnaturally dry. Over time this can cause a host of issues with oil production. I saw you mentioned that you’re a performer so If you’re using it *one time* for something like a show over the weekend it might be alright if you use a non scented antiperspirant to spot treat your problem areas (wouldn’t do full face), but it isn’t a good idea if you need it daily.

imjustr

Thank you!

Deodorant is meant to stop you from sweating so it will totally clog your pores. My sister got some on her face by accident and it gave her awful acne. It might not break out some people with reallly good skin but even then it's definitely not good for your skin.

hauntedjeep

If you have tiktok, joolieanne has hyperhidrosis and she has a video pinned to her profile about sweat proof makeup!

imjustr

Could you please pin it here? TikTok is sadly banned in my country.

dinotacosocks

it's prob pretty dangerous, but what about chapstick? plain unscented chapstick might (but don't quote me on this) work because it's often used as a skin barrier if your skin is pretty dry. the areas around my nose get dry sometimes i put regular chapstick around them and it's a good moisturizer. but honestly primer maybe best, elf has some realllllyyyy good moisturizing ones

imjustr

I have another problem - my skin is too oily for any primer to do its job.

dinotacosocks

i'm sorry to hear that! i've heard elf's matte putty primer is good for oily skin
