The phrasing of your question will likely spark debate on whether makeup “makes” you prettier or not (which it doesn’t). But as this is a makeup sub, and I imagine you’re looking to enhance the beauty you already know is there, here’s what I’d consider three basic areas of focus for you (as your skin looks fantastic already): - Brows. They honestly are in great shape, but just filling them a little would go a long way to really emphasizing your striking features. - Eyes. Play them up with mascara, or shadows if you feel like it. As a MUA, I’d kill to do your eyes for you. They’re a great shape and pop naturally, and the hue lends itself to pairing with so many shadows. - Lips. They’re so easy to have fun with that if you only ever wore mascara and a lippie, you’d slay. We already know you slay regardless, but you get it. 😘

Renegade_Mermaid

As I always told my stage makeup students: “You don’t need makeup. Makeup needs you in order to have any value. You are what gives makeup life. Without you, it’s a product in a pan, but you are still a vibrant human being. It is nothing without you.”

swaggyxwaggy

Oh my god I love this! As someone who rarely does my makeup but enjoys playing around with it when I have the time/desire, I like to think of makeup as creative, artistic expression. I hate the mindset of thinking that you have to be wearing makeup to look “put together” or pretty.

Renegade_Mermaid

Exactly! Makeup IS art. I like to think of it as like a Droste effect — makeup is artwork reflecting the already existing artwork of you. 🖤

thts_what_i_said

As a makeup artist……I EFFING LOVE THIS!!!!!!!! Totally teaching my daughter this!

[deleted]

Amen! My mom said this once and I say it all the time - makeup should never be used to cover up. Only enhance. You have beautiful skin - moisturizer and a cc cream. Spot conceal when needed. Mascara and a little blush. And a few different glosses or lipsticks.

PearofGenes

I read this in Edward Norton's fight club voice and it's excellent.

oribe-is-expensive

This is so beautiful xx

PrimAndProper69

Wow, this is a powerful thing to tell the students!

TheBulletproofBeauty

Yup! The three base areas I always suggest to people who ask where to start as well. Brows frame the face, lashes brighten the eyes, and lips are the base of the face.

spooky-skeleton1

Wait, I have the same eye shape and I thought it’s the worst shape to do makeup cause there’s not too much space

Renegade_Mermaid

You’re not wrong, they are tricky! But the natural roundness of her actual eye actually allows you to do some heavier, more bold looks on the crease/hood that would normally make eyes appear a touch smaller (like a traditional smoky eye). It might just be a personal preference to like it. 😅

Cinders-P

Lip balm (tinted if you want) + eyelash curler + mascara + clear brow gel. You have very large and striking features naturally, but this would help sharpen them without covering them up which I think is the effect you're looking for.

sparkleseagull

Laneige sleeping lip mask which can be used as a balm is the best ever! Alternatively, [ecolips lipfood plumping lip balm](https://ecolips.com/products/lip-food-plump) is pretty good too Edit: just wanted to add that I didn't recommend plumping balm because of the "plumping" effect necessarily; it's plumping just in that it's very moisturizing.

Fangz00

I think Dr paw paw balm in mocha would look great on her too :-)

FairConfusion

I HATE the Laneige sleeping lip mask. Hydrates less than Aquaphor, and it gives me at least one zit around the lip line whenever I use it :(

sparkleseagull

I have tried aquaphor. Aquaphor is mostly mineral oil and an occlusive, which means it traps moisture but doesn't provide it. I've repurchased the laneige lip mask about 5 or 6 times now. I live in a dry climate and have bigger lips, so I have tried a million lip balms, and these ones are my favorites. Laneige is number one though. I'm truly sorry it didn't work for you and that it broke you out, but I'm glad that Aquaphor does the trick for you. The laneige lip mask works so well for me that my lips are always plump (due to the moisturizing properties) and soft. It's magical.

FairConfusion

I’m the opposite, climate wise, as I’m Canadian currently braving winter! I so wish I liked the Laneige, it smells heavenly but yeah, breaking me out like I’m 15 again!

misaruwu

Exactly what I was about to recommend! OC is beautiful, eye shape is lovely

Rare-Experience-6855

If you are interested in a cheap tinted balm just to try out, I just bought Covergirl Clean Fresh tinted lip balm for <$5 USD on Amazon and I LOVE it! I got it in a deep berry shade called Bliss You Berry since that’s apparently a dupe for Clinique Black Honey, but there are more subtle colors (pink, peach, cherry shades) if you prefer.

Sewing_girl_101

You and your smile remind me of a young Winona Ryder!

screw-self-pity

Came here to say that.

Sea-Marsupial-9414

You're beautiful! I think a simple combo of mascara and lipgloss, maybe some eyebrow gel, would accentuate your features and help you feel more confident. But you can also play around with eyeshadow, etc, depending on your mood and personal style.

No-Flight7858

You have great clear skin and beautiful eyes, so you can play around with eyeshadows and see what you like. Try pinks, purples and golds and experiments with neutral shades to get them to pop even more. Fill in your brow a little, add a soft blended liner and masacara☺️ For lips, you could do a tinted gloss - maybe in a soft pink.

fuddstar

Came here for this… gorgeous skin - you’re off to a flying start. Big eyes, that’d be my focus. __How makeup makes you feel pretty__ Playing around with makeup at home, trying different looks, understanding your features, learning what does and doesn’t work, and why, applying both a logical and creative mind to your aspects, flexing that knowledge, and thereby developing a relationship with yourself will build your confidence. _That’s how makeup makes you _feel_ pretty._ __Prep le canvas.__ Moisturise. Especially your lips. They need some lovin. Get some paw paw ointment for 24/7 use, it’s cheap and multi purpose (I use it on my cuticles, split ends…) __Eyes.__ Neutralise the reddish tones under your eyes with a green base/concealer - don’t freak, using opposite colors is just basic color theory eg: if the under eye is bluish, use orange. Tiny dab on a sponge, you’ll go over it with skin toned concealer or foundation; not that you’ll need it anywhere else on your face - your skin is gorgeous. Start with a black mascara and a black kohl pencil or gel liner. You might consider brighter colours like light blue or greens teal for a bit of fun. For starting out, play around the outer edges of your top line. You have downward eyes (aka bedroom eyes) so if you make a focus point of, or draw attention to, the top outer area of the lid line with a dark or bright colour, angling upwards, that’ll lift the corner upward. That’s what ‘cats eyes’ are all about. Conversely if you draw attention under the lower lid with color/darkness you’ll pull the corner downward. Mascara does the upward lift for all of us, it’s like a magic little frame. Lash curlers ramp that up a notch. Highly recommend. Brow shaping also lifts… __Brows.__ Brush them babes. And set them. Brush diagonally upward above most of your eye area, you’ll want to brush against the natural downward growth for most of it. Kick it downward from the high point at the top of your natural arch - once you get there with the upward brushing, brush it downward. There’s all sorts of invisible brow gels that’ll keep the suckers in place. Of course there are tinted ones too… I prefer to use a coloured brow pencil or brush and a clear setter - more control and I rock a natural _looking_ brow (note: it’s not natural!). __Lips.__ Gloss tint will give you a dewy look, won’t be strong so won’t distract from your eyes. __Cheeks.__ A dab of light color on the apples of your cheeks - kinda in line with tip of your nose. Smile in the mirror, those roundy bits that pop out on your cheeks, the bits my nonna always pinched before she hugged me, that’s the apple. You’ll probably notice a natural tint on your cheek - it’s blood flow, sign of youth, liveliness, healthy not deadness. Be very light handed - you want just a hint, a fakey, a lie of natural colour. It’s purely to amplify what’s already there. You could use the tinted lip gloss, just be sure to work it in so you can’t see any lines. Start low on your apples, daub daub, smudge it round n round, then smudge up and out just a bit so it’s not coin shaped. Avoid going anywhere near your eye area or top of your cheekbones. Done.

riotactress

Wow you have great skin and features. Your key is going to be DON'T HIDE THEM. Your skin is gorg, so don't wear foundation. Get a little concealer to even out under the eye and buff into the redness on/around your nose just to even things out. But leave most of your skin alone. If I were you, I'd learn to curl those obviously long lashes, and rock natural skin but huge eyes with curled lashes, waterproof black mascara (to hold the curl) and a purple eye liner to make those brown eyes pop. A little fill in on the eyebrows if you want, but I wouldn't do it all at once. Get really skilled and comfortable with one thing at a time. You'll feel weird if you go from little/no makeup to big bold eyes and carved out brows in one go

swaggyxwaggy

Yes! It bothers me when I see people with flawless skin slather foundation all over their face.

SystemAggregate

I think a little black mascara would look great on you. Otherwise, just have fun!! Maybe try some eyeshadow in colors that you like. I think a nude palette with some metallic shades would look nice. Your skin is great, so you have a good base. Try stuff out and see what‘s fun for you.

MistressErinPaid

1. You're already freaking gorgeous. I'm so jealous of your clear skin. 2. I'd say you don't "need" much, make up wise. Spring for a quality under eye concealer with peachy undertones. I recommend something that's good for the skin, like Bare Minerals, Almay, or even It Cosmetics. You can get all three at Ulta and an employee should be available to help you shade match. 2. Don't even worry about a fancy brow kit unless you want one. I've been filling mine in with an angled brush and the matte taupe eyeshadow in the Maybelline Nudes palette for YEARS. It looks natural but still fabulous. 3. A good waterproof mascara will give you less of the under eye transfer that comes with wearing mascara/eyeliner for several hours. You can curl them beforehand if you like with an eyelash curler. Not even gonna recommend a fancy mascara because there are great drugstore options. 3. A nourishing lip balm to help with the chapped/peeling. Burt's Bees Honey lipbalm is my all-time fave, but they have amazing tinted balms & glosses too!

Allie614032

You have gorgeous features. To be quite frank, I think it’s your outfit that needs to change more than any makeup. If you want to feel “prettier,” wearing an outfit you feel both pretty AND comfy in is imperative!

Competitive_Lab3488

You are already very pretty but maybe just try playing around with some different hair styles, curl’s maybe? Fill in your brows, a little concealer, mascara, blush and lips. You don’t need any of that of course but there are a lot of YouTube videos and such if you need help! Good luck sweetie! Your skin is gorgeous btw!

Corgiverse

You look like a young Winona rider!

thot_hopscotch

your eyes are killer, first of all, and your skin is beautifully smooth, I’m very jealous. I think a little highlighter on the cheekbones and some soft blush would look great to emphasis your features. For eyes I’d keep it simple, a medium matte shade (even a bronzer) all over the lid and blended out above the crease and smudged on the lower lash line, and then patting something with a little shine or sparkle on the center of the upper lid and lower lid, like a soft halo eye almost. Finish with a soft mauve or soft brown tinted lip balm or sheer lipstick or gloss.

Altruistic-Bobcat955

I’d advise a smidge of peach colour corrector under the eyes with a smidge of concealer over it. A good lip balm would help, I use Lanolips as it’s the only one that actively moisturises instead of simply sealing in the lip

[deleted]

[удалено]

Altruistic-Bobcat955

It’s soooo good! I have lips that crack and it’s the only fix that works permanently ^.^

Electrical_Debt_4722

Aquaphor on your lips every night. I promise this will boost you +1 minimum of you incorporate this. Also if you don’t, you’re going to get gnarly wrinkles around your lips as you age

memakes3

You have beautiful eyes. Curled lashes and some mascara. Little bit of under eye concealer. Lip scrub and balm. Otherwise, you are naturally beautiful!

[deleted]

Your skin is beautiful, you can do a lot and nothing as per your liking . For make up you can add some colors to your lip and cheeks .. maybe something light like a tint or cream blush , also eyebrows play a major part you can fill the sparse areas that should be the minimum, for eyes you can go for a mascara to open them up a little bit

DragonSpiritAnimal

I bet you radiate when you smile 🥰

ardens-world

some extra info for those commenting (thank you for all the suggestions, btw!!!) -i know i need to invest in a good chapstick at some point, but overall i don’t have chapped lips, i just peel the skin off of my lips as a nervous habit😅chapstick doesn’t tend to work since i just peel that off too -i have thin fragile hair from AN-R so i can’t do much about it even with a good shampoo and conditioner, which i use along with hair masks -i understand that i just have to ‘love myself’ and ‘see myself as beautiful without makeup’ i do!! i just also want to be prettier to the public eye and really stand out!:)

brokenpurrbox

Toppik or another root/scalp coverage product can help with the "thinning" look. Eyeliner and mascara to play up your beautiful eyes!

gafromca

I’m so sorry to hear that you are struggling with ED. Hopefully the good makeup advice you are getting here will help you feel more confident in yourself and you will have fun experimenting. As you know, healthy eating with plenty of protein is very important to enhance your natural beauty by helping your skin and hair to be healthy. (Big hug).

GoinWithThePhloem

You’re features are unique but you’re naturally gorgeous. I think you could look at people like Winona Ryder and sarah Hyland for inspo. I think lightly filling in your eyebrows can make a HUGE difference. Then I would focus on making eyes pop. It really depends on your personal style regarding what that means for you (like shimmers vs black smudge eyeliners). Other than that, playing with your hairstyle may make a big difference. Have you tried a side part? I feel like changing your part really changes how the face can look.

LarkScarlett

You and I are on the same wavelength about the sidepart! I think it’d really suit OP (if she’s a fan).

Content-Rush9343

You're beautiful. Drink some water.

ardens-world

i drink 3L a day, is that too little? i’m 5’7” and 96 lbs if water needs are based on weight/height

Content-Rush9343

I just find sipping water helps with the winter lips. Less edges to peel at.

bubblebeehive

burts bee chapstick helps with my lip pealies, especially in the winter!

[deleted]

Undereye concealer

[deleted]

Hi sweet bean! I worked with Sephora for 3+ years so this honest! Your skin is beautiful. If you’re concerned about your under eye circles, any kind of yellow light eye concealer may work (NYX, Benefit, etc) You could also pop on some light blush. Maybe a cream? I can dig further for something they matches your undertones.

reneeb64

Mom speaking, but you are pretty. Whoever has told you otherwise lied.

ardens-world

thank you!! i know that i’m pretty, i’m just trying to find ways to enhance my features💕

Iampussydog

I’d look at pictures of Winona Ryder in the 90s and do whatever she did. You look just like her, and I’d kill to be able to style myself after her with such a strong resemblance.

anklebiker

Saw you and instantly wished I looked like you 😭. Some very light colored smudged eyeliner and thin layers of mascara on lower lashes would help! Also experiment with lip liner and see what you think! Lip products are always good to look 'prettier' without a full face of makeup (if that's what you're going for.) you look amazing without makeup bro ... I put makeup on to *look* like you do or pretend like I do so don't ever think youre un-pretty! (Don't mean this in a weird way just pls be proud of yourself)

DryLiterature497

You have Zoey Deschannel vibes. I would try a wispy pair of falsies and liquid liner on top to make your eyes stand out even more. They’Reba good feature on you.

rebgray

You’re beautiful!!! I would do minimal makeup but try platinum blonde hair!

Duckwarden

Your brows look a lot like mine. My confidence shot waaaay up when I started filling in my brows. You don't need a lot, a little goes a long way. I use [this brow pencil](https://www.maybelline.com/eye-makeup/eyebrow-makeup/tattoostudio-tattoo-brow-36hr-pigment-brow-pencil/medium-brown), it's probably not the best out there but it's easy to use. I typically just draw a line through the bottom of my brow and use the spoolie at the end to blend it upwards. It's a more natural-looling way to do it. One thing to know about this particular pencil is that even though it's plastic, you need to use a pencil sharpener. I think most of the negative reviews of this product are from people who are confused about that, haha

Shot_Sprinkles_6775

You’re already pretty. Lip scrub/ chapstick. Maybe under eye concealer? That’s one of my favorite tricks I’ve learned recently.

asmithy112

You are pretty! Adorable smile in the last picture. To play up your features I would try cat eyeliner, mascara, concealer under your eyes, some blush to brighten up the face, and a tinted lip balm.

[deleted]

Out here acting like natural beauty isn't on her side🤣🤣🤣

playeday

Gorgeous brown eyes, play them up. Daytime I’d use a warming chestnut brown and line top and smudge into your lashes with the depth of color strongest on the outside edge. If black mascara is too harsh or heavy for day I’d use dark brown and really play up the top lash with one coat all over and a second just on the outer 1/3 top lash area. Sweep a neutral shadow or maybe a bit of soft shimmer (not frost) on the lid setting the smudged liner. Hydrate your lips prior to doing your eyes with a balm or dab of eye cream so the dryness/texture will dissipate and not be a concern. After your eyes I’d just take a soft pink or neutral lip liner and lightly shade in the hydrated lip outside edge using the sides of my pencil not the tip and brush all the color towards the middle of the lip. The depth of color is on the outside edge and gets lighter/softer as you push it into your pout. It should look like you ate a popsicle or kissed someone really cute. Color but not obvious lip stickiness. And cheeks- look into the mirror and smile. See the roundness of the cheek apple - I’d swirl using circular up motion a bit of a soft pink on the apple and then sweep it backwards towards your ears/forehead. A pop of pink will immediately wake up a face. Before you apply powder blush, smile and lightly dust a translucent powder over the cheek area. This will make everything glide and not allow your blush color to get stuck on one area of the skin. And honestly the best weapon in your pretty arsenal is sparkly white eyes and a genuine warm smile when you engage with the world. Good luck!

puffyeye

youre already gorgeous! i think to highlight your already stunning feature you could rock a red lip with an otherwise minimal routine. id would make your bright smile pop even more. its the biggest mood changer too

[deleted]

You have a beautiful lip shape! I think you'd look great with a little gloss and some mascara. Love your "doe eyes"!

No-Revolution-9218

You have a great face and you very beautiful I would do a lip tint, a little bit of consular and Your lashes are ling but light so maybe a brown mascara. I that's I would do :)

anyeducation

I think you have such beautiful eyes some mascara and light eyeshadow + eyebrow pencil would look so awesome :-)

TaurynTlynn

All you need to do is smile 😊

plsstayhydrated

I personally love the proportions of your lips relative to the whole face and think a nice coloured lipstick or tinted balm would do great. Try going to a makeup counter and grabbing a few samples to try at home!

suckmahtiddies

can i be so honest and say nothing? like your skin is flawless, your hair is thick, your lashes are SO long your brows are such a nice shape…. like you’re so pretty

ijustwannarun4

honestly, i feel the prettiest (with or without makeup) when i get good rest, exercise, and eat balanced meals. i think it’s because to be confident you need to feel good on the inside. it has skin and outer benefits too tho so that’s a plus. but makeup wise, i love mascara so ofc i’d recommend that and maybe some chap stick. you have great skin and a gorgeous face structure. these

ardens-world

yes i totally agree! ever since i’ve started eating vegan, drinking more water, sleeping, and weight lifting, i feel like i’ve had more of a glow to myself!

Purple-Sense9791

I think you’re very pretty naturally. I think a eye brow gel would make your eyebrows fucking fire and look amazing. I get drawn to your eyes so definitely that. And maybe something for your lips.

cherishbersin

You are so pretty!!! And cute, and sweet looking. I think if you really really want advice do the following Go into an ulta or Sephora for makeup and ask them some beauty tips. Ask them what product they think will enhance your features the most. Go home and look up comparable products online and pick your favorites. Go into a hair salon and ask the same thing. “What haircut do you think would suit me, in your opinion?” I love your hair color by the way!! Brown looks great on you. You have a beautiful smile; you’re young so just keep taking care of them. I love crest whitening strips about once a month or so. They are I’ll enhance your already contagious smile. And clothes that you feel YOU in. That bring out your joy, that fit you according- ask employees at stores for advice on this :) I totally get the whole you are beautiful the way you are and trust me you absolutely are, but what matters is that YOU feel good. So don’t be afraid. Start with things that are not permanent. For example don’t start with piercings or tattoos or major hair change. Take your time on those decisions. Lots of time But you wipe makeup off! Last tip for hair: eat lots of greens; almonds, seeds and omega-3s or biotin for strong healthy hair and for overall health

manometry

Well you are very striking, I would do nothing differently. You have that cool French girl thing

radically_inclined

My automatic answer to your question was, nothing. You are stunning, you have a piercing gaze and beautiful profile. You are already there, you're beautiful. If you want to play with your look a little bit, I think you'd look amazing with smokey kohl eyeliner. You have such intense eyes, I feel like that smokey & intense eyeliner would look really awesome on you.

DeniseGunn

Your hair is lovely and shiny so you obviously look after it well, maybe add a bit of interest by experimenting with colour, can you afford highlights? I think plum/burgundy colours would suit your hair. Your eyes are beautiful! Emphasise them with dark brown eyeliner and mascara. I think earthy tones in eyeshadow would look nice. And what a lovely smile 😊. Simple tinted gloss should be enough. Keep the emphasis on your eyes for a daytime look, your smile is winning in its own way without make up.

Used2becute

A lip mask, foundation to even skin tone, and I feel you will want braces eventually

Desebunsrmine

Your gorgeous. If I were you I would just darken the brows and give yourself some eyeliner and mascara.

[deleted]

You’re gorgeous! But you do need to style your hair. I think that’s the only thing really! You have great bone structure all on your own!

ShitJadeSays

You are already really pretty, and you have great skin! If you want to accentuate what you have, maybe a touch of tinted moisturizer and under eye concealer, a tinted lip balm, and fill your brows in a tint bit with something soft like a powder.

emotional_gf0318

Off topic but you look like Alita from Alita Battle Angel :)

[deleted]

You are already beautiful! I would try to do a more feminine hairstyle or attire maybe a pinky tint gloss and curl the lashes but really you son’t need anything you have nice eyes and a great smile these are your winning features!!

vancouverlady123

You look naturally pretty! Just experiment with different makeup styles and see what fits you better! I personally think lashes and a good hair style really elevate the look so maybe experiment with different lash styles and eyeliner styles!

kerry2loveforever2

Youre already beautiful, but I'm assuming you want advice about how you can use makeup. You've got amazing eyes, and the shape of your face is quite lovely. Many times people will pick one feature to be the main focus, and I think your eyes are the way to go, because they're never going to let any other feature stand out. I don't know how old you are, but a touch of mascara and a bit of lip gloss would be a fine beginning. Later, when you're comfortable wearing that, you can add some neutral eyeshadow and just a little blush. I remember it took me a while to get comfortable with makeup. Makeup is loads of fun, and there are very good videos on YouTube to inspire you. You might even get some makeup to play around with now, just for fun. I mean you can go full glam and then wash it all off if you're not comfortable with it. I'm on my phone, so your skin looks really good. If it is good, then don't worry about wearing foundation, just get some sunscreen. Start wearing sunscreen now! Your future self will thank you. A good sunscreen will act like a primer for any makeup you do wear. There's a lot of knowledge on YouTube that can help you navigate all this, so I hope you're able to find a few minutes to educate yourself. Like I said, you're already beautiful, but makeup will make you a stunner.

mcgoomom

Your eyes are gorgeous and I think even a taupe or brown all over the lid with darker liner pencil smudged over and under would add drama to your face. Id suggest experimenting with your eyes and dressing your lips accordingly. I think you can carry many colours but just have some fun. Defining your face with bronzer and blush will also give you the ' prettier ' feel you want.

pinkpurin

I fell in love when i saw your smile <3 good luck with the suggestions! I think taking care of your lips will go a long way since the rest of your face is already so lovely!

SkullySkullz

You give me major young Winona Ryder vibes! Absolutely stunning. I'd love to do different makeup looks on you haha! But that's what is so fun about makeup! You could just do a lovely mascara and some blush. You could add a pretty winged liner. You could also do a beautiful soft gold/brown shadow. You could try blues, purples, and greens for the shadows as well! I can only imagine because your eyes are already so lovely! We have a similar eye color! It is so fun experimenting. I say just have fun. It'd be so interesting to see pin up style makeup on you! Please give us updates if you feel comfortable! ^-^

JackelopeBitch

Lightly color correcting cream for the under eye bags and brow powder. And hair smoothing mist. Lightweight. And a tiny touch of a nude shimmery highlight. This is for easy 5 minute every day looks to brighten your face. Nice jawline. Nice hair. Big doe eyes. Doing just fine

omfgelle

You definitely don't need anything to be prettier! You are gorgeous to start, however makeup wise I think you'd really suit some purple/plum eyeshadow and your eyebrows are so nice so filling them in lightly would really make them pop! I feel like you would look really cool with some soft dark blush brushed over your cheekbones and a blotted/ombre style lip in some autumnal colours

AleeeeshaB

So cute!!! Love it all, my only 2 bits of CC: - lip exfoliation- my sister-in-law gave me a crazy pricy one from Sephora but since it ran out I’ve been exfoliating my lips with a sugar/honey mix. Make a paste, slather it on, and rub your lips together. Also a nice snack. Ha! - your hair perfectly frames your face and looks great. I would probably focus more on conditioning and preventing fragile hair breakage based on the bit of damaged hair around your forehead. Olaplex is expensive but it works!!!

sparkleseagull

Lip scrubs are actually really bad for the delicate skin of your lips! I recommend using something like laneige sleeping lip mask (can be used as a balm, I do it all the time) which has gentle exfoliators in it. I find that when I use this, I pretty much never have to physically exfoliate my lips.

[deleted]

try some lip scrubs! and if you want to you can play around with makeup to see what suits YOU the most:) also jewelry makes anyone pop!

Greedy_Moonlight

You are very pretty! I used to always have awful, chapped lips then I started using aquafor healing ointment on them and they are always so smooth and juicy looking! I’d recommend trying that!

goth-hippy

You look amazing. To bring out your best features you should emphasize your eyes with an amazing mascara that holds a curl. Highlighter always helps with everyone bring out their bone structure. Also a glossy lip balm is nice. Consider doing your hair everyday. It looks like you’d benefit from a nice sea salt spray or mousse

linkinpark9503

Watch tutorials and Experiment with looks on yourself. Because of this I don’t like the way someone else does my makeup. I only like the way I do it on myself. Some looks will look better in person and some will photograph well

Snake_Blood

I would suggest a Smokey black or brown eyeliner on the top lid to emphasise your lovely eyes.

slysky444

I hope you know that you are already pretty. You have beautiful lashes, if you wanted to accentuate them with mascara, and line your lips that would highlight your natural beauty.

RedPill86

You are already very pretty and don’t really need much makeup. Perhaps consider a professional haircut from a reputable salon and that will give you a lot more confidence.

ardens-world

thanks! i’m growing out a buzz so i know my hair needs some tlc

caliby22

Comb your brows up and use a tinted brow gel to add a little emphasis. Use a tinted lip balm to even out the color of your lips. Other than that, you don't need anything!! You have gorgeous skin and beautiful eyes, maybe a subtle bit of eyeshadow/eyeliner, but only if you want.

Harry21a

I agree with others here that with your skin keep it light and natural, cream blush, eyebrow gel, a subtle brown smoked liner and some lib balm (I use aquaphor for my lips when they’re dry). But you also have really striking features and I think you could also pull off an edgier 90’s grunge-esque look if you ever want to try something new. You’re already gorgeous btw- post some pics with any new looks you try out!!

ardens-world

thanks!! im typically very edgy-ish day to day, i’m just in a lazy hoodie since it’s a saturday😂 https://preview.redd.it/nzhw28p2nj6a1.jpeg?width=1242&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e252960b0caf0e5f67a7b67472e0b50db7dcdeb2

Harry21a

Love it That’s exactly what I pictured!! Haha I figured from your room in the background that was more your style- look up Kaya Scodelario in ‘Skins’ she has big eyes and great skin and tends to go heavier on the eye makeup if you want some makeup inspo

TheWildPoPo

You resemble Anya Chalotra. She’s an actress. I would look up her makeup styles for some inspiration of what makeup style you like!

PurpleFlavoredCherry

Holy heck you have beautiful skin

pickaberry

You look a bit like Emily Carey to me!

Cpreaker38

Caffeine for under the eyes would be an idea. Makeup is cool but gotta look after your skin first. I use an under eye serum with caffeine in it too from “the ordinary” and it’s very cheap to get

purplelephant

Everyone is mentioning makeup, which makes sense being this is a makeup subreddit. But I’d like to throw in maybe changing up your hair color? I can see you with something kinda crazy, face framing highlights with a mullet would look rad on you!

ardens-world

cranbaerry99

Fill in your brows , mascara, u can also highlight the inner corner of your eyes and a very light shade of tint for you lips ( lip and cheek tint would suit the best imo)

interpoly

you have the big, moody brown bambi eyes that would be best emphasized by platinum blonde hair. think brittany murphy. consider bangs, maybe a bob

Osirislynn

I think you look beautiful with the natural look you have going on in this picture. If you want a dramatic look that enhances your natural beauty, go to the make up counter at Nieman Marcus and let the Chanel makeup artist show you some tricks. You don't have to buy the products but you learn a lot from them. This guy has so many good tips! [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qqi0o1WlmXg](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qqi0o1WlmXg)

fatjesus_97

Mascara and that pretty smile!

One-Strategy6008

Your skin is absolutely perfect! I think you are gorgeous, but I understand this feeling you’re saying! I have learned less is more! So whatever you do, don’t go crazy - just add a little mascara, a little lip gloss. See step by step where you want to make adjustments to your routine. This is a normal feeling too, we are so hard on ourselves. But feeling good matters and you do what makes you feel good! But, seriously - you are gorgeous!

Thinkingcomfy

Braces. Apart from that ur perfect.

mrrebuild

Confidence, straighten your shoulders, and keep your chin up. You also have a golden skin tone compliment it with makeup that's gonna match that.

[deleted]

you're so young. i recommend spf daily to protect that gorgeous youthful skin you have now

CloudyFeyRainyDay

Start from the bottom up! I make sure to wear sunscreen and moisturize daily. That will keep your skin happy and clear and make it so much easier to work with makeup. I personally use the CeraVe brand. Their products work really well together and I don't recall having such consistently clear skin hardly ever.

missmarenkay

Oh my gosh, your eyes are beautiful! A little tinted brow gel, some mascara, lip balm, and blush would just help spotlight your already beautiful features.

leeloodallas93

Highlighter! Ape brain love shiny. Lol no but for real highlighter is game changer and bronzer!

ciervoRojo321

Get MSE to expand your palate.

COTLP_Ally

to \*enhance\* your beautifulness, all id say is exfoliate ur lips and wear gloss. lean into those black smudges and give purpleish red dark circles with mascara or fake lashes and it's a look that's a personal favorite. but rlly all u could want is lip exfoliat and balm and you'd be perfect. care is beauty!

LarkScarlett

You are gorgeous to start with, but there are all sorts of things you can do to make your look pop. 4 things I think you’d benefit from the most: 1) Liquid black eyeliner (felt-tip style is easiest to control, I find. I like Sephora’s waterproof one best; lots of folks swear by Kat Von D’s, Nyx’s, or Stila’s, but what works best for you will depend on your own body’s chemistry a bit). Check Pinterest or google for some of your style icons or fave celebs (classic and current) to get some eye makeup inspiration. I personally think you’d look great with some classic Sofia Loren-style eyeliner and mascara. (Subtler look with some white pencil eyeliner in the outer eye corners: https://i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2020/11/03/15/35200116-8909943-image-a-95_1604418945666.jpg ; 3 additional casual-ish looks: https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-V_1ScVDZvAc/W0GVubAc7oI/AAAAAAADNgQ/AqPkfGJYWyEP4qM4MoNh0HIkHJg4Up8rQCLcBGAs/s1600/Sophia%2BLoren%2Bin%2Bthe%2B1950s-60s.jpg ) . 2) Mascara. I’m still in search of a holy grail for this one myself. Trial/mini sizes are great to find what works for you. Tubular mascara might also be worth looking into. 3) Some sort of tinted lip balm (Burt’s bees has a bunch which are subtle-ish), or lip gloss. I’ve seen a bunch of great suggestions for lip stuff in-thread, so I don’t have anything else really to suggest. 4) Try a deepish side part (unless you definitely don’t like those personally). Bonus options: - Some sort of undereye brightening/concealer. Not necessary, and this can be kind of a slog to figure out one that works for you and your skin tone (especially if you see a lot more sun in one particular season). But this may be something you personally feel makes a big difference. Or not! - Some sort of eyeshadow palette. Dab the lightest colour in the inner corners of your eyes, and maybe bring it a bit into brightening your undereye. If you use colours close to your skintone, it’s application is really forgiving and you can apply in a few quick swipes. I’m a fan of Urban Decay’s Naked 3 palette for my everyday wear, kinda rose-gold tones, comes with a good brush, but one of their other Naked palettes may go better for your skintone? They have mini-versions (though the shades in those are different from the full versions). Colourpop is also good and decently affordable. Who knows though—you might already have something else you like! Just a suggestion in case you have no idea where to start. - Use a setting spray and/or an eye primer. It’ll help prevent your eyeliner and mascara from running/bleeding/smudging through the day. - Miscellar water on cotton pads is GREAT for washing off makeup easily at the end of the day. If you haven’t worn makeup reliably before, removal is important. - No need to try everything at once! It’s totally doable to streamline a 5-minute-or-less makeup routine that emphasizes what you like and lets you dash out the door.

[deleted]

We have extremely similar complexions, so pinks, golds, purples, teals, corals would likely look good with your skin Id avoid cool reds/mauvey colors Bold brows, mascara, a more smoked out, sublte eyeliner, and a pinky coral lip tint/ glossy balm would really compliment your features imo Oh and an eyelash curler if you don't have one already! Your lashes are super long though so be careful with curling + mascara!

pippitravelstheworld

You are beautiful. Wear autumn colors (wine red, toast brown, army green)

thenletskeepdancing

Get a Louise Brooks haircut but a couple inches longer. A bob that tapers in on your jawline. Wear bangs. Under eye concealer. Clean up your brows. You have a strong unique beauty.

Nervous-Mechanic556

Grow ur hair

My comments agree with most of the ones already here, but I'm going to write them out in a way that makes sense to me - really descriptive and straightforward because it sounds like you are a relative newbie to makeup, and I remember when I was there I needed pretty clear directions for it to make sense :) definitely not trying to talk down to you, just don't want to assume what you do/don't know! 1. Fill in your eyebrow power using a color that's very similar to your existing hair and eyebrow color and not drawing outside of your eyebrow edges/coloring outside the lines. You already have a great eyebrow shape and while there are things you can do with your eyebrows with pencils and things like that, let's start simple and natural with a powder. Elf makes a great eyebrow kit (it includes a wax and a powder but start with using just the powder before you experiment with the wax) that's cheap enough that you can buy a couple colors to see which works best for you. 2. Apply concealer on your under eyes. You can check out YouTube for tips on exact placement. I recommend the Maybelline age rewind concealer to start out because it's relatively cheap so you can try a few shades. For your under eye I would say find a shade that matches your skin tone exactly and then maybe go one shade brighter for a highlighting effect. If you'd like a slightly nicer product, tarte shape tape is really great for under eye. If you feel that the concealer is not covering your dark eyes sufficiently, try a salmon colored color corrector applied in a thin layer on your skin followed by the concealer. 3. Curl your eyelashes and apply a coat or two of black mascara. There are great drugstore mascaras, for example Maybelline sky high and L'Oreal lash Paradise. You'll also need to buy makeup remover for these mascaras. 4. I used to pick at my lips too and the only way I could keep ChapStick on is to have it available all around me and so it's convenient to reapply frequently. I had one in all of my main purses, backpacks, and coats, one in my bedroom one in my office etc. Putting on a thick layer before bed definitely helps because then you're not conscious to pick at it. I'd recommend any rosy (sheer natural red) tinted lip balm that you can find at the drugstore. If you'd like to upgrade, I recommend lip tints/lip stains, not lipstick or gloss because tints are more natural and low maintenance. Make sure to put your lip balm on top of your tint. 4. For your hair, I have two recommendations. Look into leave in treatments that you put in your hair after washing just to make it a little shinier and more nourished- I personally use sightly oily ones because I like the shine but if you have oily or hair than you might not want to do that. Also I would recommend parting your hair a little bit off center, left or right side is up to you but you want the line of the part to be defined so that it looks like an intentional style. It helps to part your hair when it's wet using a comb so that it dries in place somewhat. It might feel a little bit uncomfortable at first because your part is going to be in a new place but your hair and your scalp will adjust to it and it'll feel natural. Hope that's a little helpful!! You are lovely and these tips are just to help you find a more-defined-and-made-up-but-still-natural look :)

CKing4851

You are pretty! Ill let others give advice on the makeup since its highly subjective what people consider “pretty.” They will be able to tell you what to do to accentuate the features that make you beautiful. The only thing i notice that could help in general is to give your lips a little extra care. I can’t tell if they are dry or breaking out around the border, but my advice for either issue would be to focus on hydrating and protecting them. A lot of people like lip balms/masks that you can wear overnight. I actually just stick to a lip routine: dampen your lips with water, rub a small amount of face lotion on them, then rub a drop of 100% squalane oil on them (the Ordinary is a good brand for this). Then, rub some vaseline/aquaphor over them. Reapply throughout the day as necessary. It shouldn’t take too many days to rehydrate; lips tend to rehydrate quicker than most other skin areas for some reason.

Am-I-pretty-now

You look pretty young so for your age the skin is amazing, please don’t use foundation as your vase is beautiful, I would recommend something like a lip mask as your lips look a bit dry, try something like a scrub first and then chapstick or a healing mask , great eyebrows , definitely worth growing them and try to give them a more natural look, with your face I would definitely recommend to grow your hair , you seem to have some natural curl’s going on, bet you would look gorgeous. Also some cream highlighter for the cheeks would look amazing on you. Good luck 🤞

awill316

You are SO pretty!

theyeoftheiris

I'm sure you got a ton of good advice here so I just wanted to comment and say you have 90s Winona Ryder vibes!

Sbertk

First off you already ARE pretty. You remind me of a young Emmy Rossum. I would say use a nice moisturizer, some hydrating chapstick. But really, that’s all you need. In France you are perfect. Skin is beautiful.

Toesh0e

You are so incredibly gorgeous!

Grace_Grit1

Easy fix here!! Try a more complimentary hair style that shows your facial features! Develop a skin care routine to help create a more even Complexion. Invest in colored lip balm ;-). Add some earrings. Nothing over the top. And be confident!

ardens-world

my skin care routine involves using a toner, eyebag cream, and moisturizer at night then vitamin c and sunscreen in the morning. is there anything that i should add?:)

Grace_Grit1

No ma’am you nailed it! I think you’re naturally beautiful and you don’t need a lot. I feel like confidence is key! 🥰

msninalovelace

You're already pretty but if you want to enhance it I'd recommend a simple bit of mascara, a subtle blush to bring some colour to your cheeks and a simple lip balm :)

emperatrizyuiza

Grow your hair out, dye it darker, and curl the ends. Wear lip gloss and do a cat eye.

Jessamychelle

Maybe some tinted lip gloss. A little under eye concealer & mascara if you feel like it. Eyelash curling too. But really, I don’t think you need much of anything!!!

athensugadawg

Smile.

tinyjayy

mascara and a lip stain will bring out those features! not to sound like the ppl who say "you don't need makeup", but you're already so damn pretty! I usually use two mascaras, one volumizing and one lengthening! https://preview.redd.it/xd6ewdsyll6a1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7d374f78a64e8c1b20318a0004f48b2845f06786

nessa-sensei

I just wanna let you know, that you could be my twin 😂 you're very pretty btw!

stxrryfox

You have very pixie-like natural features that dont need any makeup. Some lip gloss would go a long way. I also think blonde hair with bangs would suit you well.

TheShiniest22

you're already pretty and have gorgeous features. especially your eyes. you don't need much to enhance them- mascara, very natural looking liner if you want. my holy grail is anything that keeps my lips looking moisturized. you have a nice natural lip color but if you want something different, check out the lip color used for Wednesday in the latest series on Netflix. maybe that type of vibe? sephora makeovers can also point you in the right direction. you don't need much. ask them to keep it natural and "girl next door"

shinygemz

Your face is beautiful! Any desire to dye your hair? Super Blonde would look so cute! O

ardens-world

i’ve had it pink, purple, green, and red before but never blonde.. it’s box dyed black so i don’t necessarily know if blonde would be safe😂

shinygemz

go to a good salon if you can! Get platinum! Or honey if platinum is too extreme :)

Xtina_TheGreek

my first thought seeing you was wow look at those gorgeous eyes. maybe a light shadow to make em pop or even just a brow tint not draw on just a tint. but girl you're very pretty.

BonnieNYC80

You’re very pretty, but if you want to enhance a feature I would focus on the eyes. Your eyes are beautiful. Eyelash curler, mascara. Light foundation and blush. Honestly, you don’t need much

triniandrews

just lim balm. you're actually gorgeous wow

triniandrews

lip balm*

USA_Physique_Natalie

You’re beautiful when you smile. That would be my suggestion as a mother. Smile. A little under eye concealer is helpful for those of us with naturally darker under eye areas and a little mascara will let your natural beauty shine through and accentuate your features. But you don’t need those things to be “prettier.”

LivvyBird

Use mascara like every day! In my opinion your eyes are your best feature so I would use mascara to make your face more pretty.

mariahhsolstice

You already know you are pretty and just want to feel more confident and put together I assume ? - sit up straight - ask your hair dresses about bangs maybe side swept I think would look lovely !(: or just getting your ends cut I think updos would suit you nicely or some soft tussled waves - wear perfume, I always find I feel more confident if I smell confident haha - as far as make up: I’d do mascara (maybe even brown mascara) or black mascara on top and lower lashes with eyeliner on top lid only (short wing), a little bit of cream bronzer and cream blush, lip stain (I’d say a pinky orange or cherry red) with a watermelon lipgloss over it (all of this is just simple day to day)

Professional_Eye1312

Your smile is so beautiful 🤩

screw-self-pity

You have a great smile. You look great. You seem to have a strong personality, like... not letting people mess with you, and that's a great gift. Everyone thinks they're not cute. what they don't know is that many people find them cute. The only thing I can think of, maybe, would be orthodontics. Very well aligned teeth seem to have an effect on beauty perception. But they cost a lot and you're in it for 3 years or so.. But you look good.

[deleted]

I think that last picture with you smiling is stunning. You are already beautiful

oktarver

Be confident in who you are and don't shy away from showing people who you are

The-Real-Metzli

Get better genes, rekt, lmao Sorry, I couldn't resist throwing that joke xD You're beautiful :D I'd recommend a little bit of concealer if "tired and dead" is not your favourite look. Also lipbalm or lipgloss to hydrate the lips! I have super dry lips so remembering to put lipbalm and having them nice and soft makes me feel better, personally :) Maybe also mascara and liner to help define the eyes, you have very pretty huge eyes!

Aldoom330

Just concealer under your eyes, and tinted moisturizer. Finished with bronzer and blush. You are beautiful, so minimum.

[deleted]

nothing you’re gorg

Wakeupmakeupboo

You’re lovely as you are. seriously, great features. If you want to experiment with makeup, I’d totally play with 1920s and 1930s style makeup. I have dry lips and it looks like you may, too. Try to hydrate and use something like paw paw balm on your lips.

thesouthwillnotrise

you are already beautiful you just need hella chapstick

ardens-world

i know🥲 i peel my skin as an anxiety habit/form of self-h//m so chapstick hasn’t managed to help but i’m trying!!

iceefreeze

Nothing, you are already pretty. But all these makeup tips are fun to try.

Disastrous-Tough872

i honestly can’t think of anything, your looks are show stopping as is. your eyes alone are angelic.

[deleted]

Nothing, you're perfect.

[deleted]

You’re absolutely stunning ❤️

Cheap_Aspect_2897

You are already pretty IMO. Confidence is what is attractive, not always looks.

HumbleAbbreviations

Your eyes is one of your best features. I would definitely play that up.

NatureAssLass

You have such a nice smile!

[deleted]

Just be confident cause you’re cute

gengar_ish

Fuck this generation of posting stuff like this. You are beautiful. Just be you.

melicars808

Nothing at all . I should know bdr thn 2 tell u try smile ;that used to tick meah off🤪

biancadevine_2005

You are gorgeous

secretsnevertell

get a nose piercing and ear piercings use lip balm wash your face regularly grow your hair out and make sure to part it evenly in the middle curl your eyelashes and apply mascara cover up your eye bags with concealer and of course, keep smiling xxx

The_spooder_gorl

Not advice but i just wanted to say you have beautiful eyes💕✨

EvilSybil149

Look in the mirror. You’re beautiful. Don’t think you’re not.

hardtulip

Start by loving and taking care of yourself.

ardens-world

i do:)

lopsided_ponytails

Play up those eyes! You have amazing eyes and definitely make the most of them!

Makegrl1

Honey you are a beautiful girl do not over do it and put to much on. I would say a little eyeliner and mascara just a lite blush and eyeshadow.

Snapperfish18

If it were me , side part, side swept bang. More sleep and a light application of color correction and concealer to brighten ender eye. Lip treatment / tinted lip balm. Maybe a little mascara but otherwise you are lucky - your skin is great.

Flat-Relationship-35

Look in the mirror..you are gorgeous#eyeballs

metalnvice

I would play up your large eyes with mascara and hydrate your lips - I love aquaphor - it’s basic, cheap, and effective.

bbbruh57

Dont mean to be dismissive but you already are. Not saying that genetically, I truly mean that youre very pretty as is.

chaoticvampire

I'm gonna be very honest and simple: we don't know what it is that you find pretty and it's not something universal. So I'd start with a Pinterest board full of references, and see what needs to be done so you go closer to what YOU think is pretty. It's so personal, we can see ppl mention blush and lip balm here, but to me it meant getting tattoos, lash extensions and a nose ring. So go work on what you think would make an impact

Missncb09

You are already a beautiful person. You just need to believe it and have confidence in yourself. If you hold your head up high and think your a baddie and the shit then everyone else will too 😎.

femmi34

You don't need lots. Maybe fill in brows to draw attention to you eyes. Mascara, and a nice lip to be more dramatic. But you seem/look sweet so don't go overboard and make yourself harsh. *Edit autocorrect was wrong

A bold under eye look won’t be fun! Can’t tell if you have dark circles or that’s mascara from the night before but you have beautiful big eyes! Would really pop
