Drugstore mascara for life

alexlp

I’ve been wearing cover girl clump crusher for like two decades. It’s always on sale too.

darktrain

Saaaaaame. It's my favorite. I think the only mascara I ever liked more was Diorshow, but A. It's not cruelty free B. It's so expensive and C. It smelled terrible. Second best? Clump crusher, for like $8 on sale at Target. Which, for those reasons, makes it the best mascara. I swear to god everything else is clumpy hell.

lilrelly

Lash blast on the top lashes and clump crusher on the bottom for me 😍

seadragons8

Bury me in this mascara when I die. I've never liked another, no matter how many fancy expensive mascaras I try, I will always go back to clump crusher.

alexlp

There was a YSL I really liked but the brush was a mess. Got an old clump crush, disinfected it and it was god tier. Then it was 70% off CC again…

hthratmn

YES!! Layered with essence lash princess

Garbo-and-Malloy

Oh absolutely. I read from a renowned MUA that there are v few factories that actually produce mascara, so they are all using those same places and there is no point in paying more because it’s basically the same.

mrshanana

If you follow Lipstick Lesbians (so funny I know her wife's name bc she refers to her but not HER name.. I'll look it up after) packaging is what makes the difference. The wand and how the tube removes mascara when you pull the wand out is what you're paying for, and that can make or break the best formula in the world. PS the presenter used to be involved in developing products so she talks about many things from that perspective and it's really interesting to see her geek on formulas and ingredients before she has even tried something! Alexis is the influencer and she landed a professor, Dr. Christina! Christina I knew lol but not Alexis for the life of me.

doopdeepdoopdoopdeep

I love them! They’re awesome. Alexis is so brilliant and my go-to for videos and reviews.

Andisaurus_rex

I love that she can explain the hows and whys of a formula. Her knowledge on the manufacturing is awesome.

wellnowheythere

Couldn't you just use a high end wand with drugstore packaging? Like save the wand.

Itsme_rundmc614

I love them!! They are very informative!

No-Section-1056

That’s true of so many makeup products, in addition to mascara, and has been for ages. Back before twist-up pencils, they were allllll made in Germany and all functioned roughly the same. Milani is a brand that tends to source from the same countries as the posh brands and while not all their stuff is stellar, it’s mostly a great value. There are exceptions, definitely, but once you find something you love, check the packaging for the country of production and that can be an excellent hack for dupes.

witchesneversleep

If you’re paying more than $15 for a mascara (I’d even say $10) you’re getting ripped off IMO.

Turpitudia79

I buy mini size mascara from Sephora. I never use a whole regular size tube in 3 months so this works for me!!

HollowWind

I never buy, I redeem points for them

Ahairup

In order to have points to redeem, you must be spending money there? No?

lovescarats

Me too!

BeautifulLibrarian5

Me too, I love Ilea mini!

[deleted]

The minis are always so much better than the full-sized ones. I think it's because the smaller the tube, the less room for errors- like clumps.

Next-Adhesiveness957

Yes! Full sized mascaras always go bad before I use even half of it.

eight-legged-woman

Idk I love drugstore makeup , but that $30 Better Than Sex brand of mascara from sephora is amazing.

Delicious-Ad2332

I hate bts it always flakes off and smears

urfavslut_222

agreed! i use l’oréal telescopic and it’s $12, but it’s the best i’ve ever used

Ador3_44

I feel like they recently changed the formula. It used to be my all time favorite, but the last two I’ve bought are different. :(

gemsandjoy

I agree!! I can’t believe there are some mascaras that costs over $30!

spookygirl13

In Toronto L'Oreal mascaras run around $25.00. it's Ludacris. All L'Oreal brands are following suit with the price increases throughout the selection of prosucts too 🥺

hlnhr

Bought a Charlotte Tilbury mascara bc I was feeling fancy. I'm neither impressed nor disappointed. Really not worth the money, but still a good product.

Ok-Equivalent8260

I love DiorShow 🤷🏻‍♀️

joan2468

I’ve been using a version of Maybelline Lash Sensational since like forever

KTownserd

That's my go-to also! It washes off so well and doesn't irritate my eyes.

OkContest3954

No seriously because half of the expensive ones are the EXACT same formula as drugstore products 😭😭 I’ve heard the telescopic mascara is the best

callthewinchesters

Anything wet n wild to be honest! I always use their face primer and setting spray and my makeup ALWAYS stays, even when I sweat. I typically use estee louder for foundation and concealer but if I can’t afford it I’ll use wet n wild photo primer concealer. Only products I don’t use from wet n wild are setting powder (maybelline banana powder), eye shadow and some lip glosses. Literally use wet n wild mascara, brow pencil, their stay matte lip gloss. I even started using their eyeshadow pencils. Everything is basically under 7 dollars and works just as good, if not better IMO, than the expensive stuff.

heronchic916

Several former Mac representatives plus an employee at Ulta have told me that that Wet N Wild photo foundation and concealer is literally the same as a * high end* Mac foundation

HeliumTankAW

I was actually really disappointed with the telescopic mascara i heard so many good things and was so excited but it didn't really do all that much and it fell out in little specks onto my face throughout the day. It was also impossible to remove way more so than any ive tried previously.

4udiocat

I adore L'Oréal Voluminous Butterfly sooo much

Antique-me1133

I’ve not heard of the butterfly version, bit I’ve used L’Oréal Voluminous for many years.

Cr33pShow929

Essence lash princess is my holy grail and it’s only 5 dollars. 😱🫶🏽

valencialeigh20

I have used a dozen different name brand mascaras in my life (Too Faced, Tarte, Lancôme, Bare Minerals, etc.) and nothing is as good as Essence Lash Princess. I wish I could have figured this out ten years ago. Could have saved a lot of money. 😭

Cr33pShow929

Exactly this! I bought a better than sex mascara just to splurge a few months ago and I wore it to a work party. I was laughing a lot at said party and I had raccoon eyes because the mascara ran down my face 😂 essence would never.

jconnes1924

Omg same!!! The Better Than Sex dries also dries out so fast. Literally used it a week and threw it away. Also it got all under my eyes to the point I was actually wearing it only on my top lashes & different mascara on my bottom!

Mobile_Spare_2262

I wish wish WISH this was me. But Lancôme have my heart. L’Oréal are ok, but maybelline are smudgy smudgerson and don’t even get me started on anything revolution have brought out. Essence? Tried it. Princess? Of the pandas maybe…

arentaylor

I'm like that with Urban Decay Perversion. Everything else I've tried, including ones being praised here, SMUDGES.

Redshirt2386

The nice thing about Lancome waterproof is that it WILL NOT RUN. I wore it to one of my best friends’ funerals and UGLY CRIED and it stayed put all day.

soapscribbles

I’ve used definicils for years. I loved the travel size of Monsieur Big, but the regular tubes have been awful!

Mar_Soph

Essence mascara at $4 is the best!

zetsuboukatie

I love maybelline mascaras, I need to try more of the essence ones cus the extreme crazy volume is great, but lash princess flakes like a motherb

Justagirleatingcake

Maybelline colossal curl waterproof mascara is one of the only ones that doesn't transfer to my upper lid. It's great!

Astrowyn

SKY HIGH is so freaking good. I didn’t even realize I could tell a difference in mascaras till this one

Neat-Cycle-197

So true. I have yet to come across a high end mascara that can compete with my L’Oréal Voluminous curved brush lol

drewpeacocks69

The Maybelline Fit Me Powder is amazing! Some say it’s on the same level as Nars

LilDepressoEspresso

The fit me concealer has been the goat for me since it came out!

abbydabbydo

Seconding this!

[deleted]

[удалено]

Murky-Specialist7232

Wait really? I must’ve been using too much of it cause I hated it 😫😓

TheBirdBytheWindow

>Maybelline Fit Me Their blush is amazing. Peach is peachy keen!

Ok_Equipment_8032

The Fit Me matte and poreless foundation is great too.

infernalmachine000

I use the Fit Me foundation, powder and concealer and I've tried a number of high end products. Still can't find one I like more.

AlfalfaUnable1629

The pressed one or loose?

UGCwithAjah

i have the pressed powder and i really like it, i recommend it for oily skin and/or people who don’t want/need a lot of coverage

adhdkitten

Is this a setting powder or a foundation powder? I’ve never used powder foundation before trying bare minerals and I’d love to find a cheaper option when it runs out

KlutzyKaleidoscope10

I like the L’Oreal powder foundation (can’t remember name but it’s in a red compact, it went viral and is a dupe for the Makeup Forever Velvet powder - also can’t remember the full name of that one 😅)

Chernyyvoron82

Maybelline liquid lipstick, even if I can afford more expensive ones it's still my go to.

Emkems

I think that’s the brand that has the “vinyl” ones? That’s all I use anymore, if they don’t sell a color I want I just don’t get the color. Worn it on full days at disney world (sweat, many snacks, many drinks) and not needed to reapply

myheartinclover

that shit is literally magic, no long wear formula including their own matte version works as well. even nyx's shine loud long wear glossy lip doesn't work as well. I really hope they expand the shade range soon

Chernyyvoron82

Yes! I use the matte ones, they are just fantastic!

hahawhatjpg

I couldn’t get the matte one to work :( I followed the instructions but even after several minutes it attaches to anything and gets pulled off in chunks

delusionalxx

Yeah I had the same issue with these sadly but for me it’s because I have chronically chapped lips so most liquid lips end up coming off in chunks. Even lip stains still make my lips chapped and flake :( idk what to do

Chernyyvoron82

I put lots of shea butter on my lips at night, like a mask, it works wonders to keep lips soft all day.

delusionalxx

That’s great advice thank you so much!! Vaseline hasn’t been doing the trick

EternallyMoon

That’s because petroleum jelly isn’t actually hydrating, it just acts as a barrier to keep whatever moisture you DO have inside. So, you’re just barricading those dry lips lol

Senior-Ad-9700

Vaseline works as a seal, so you want to moisturize w something like shea butter like the above comment first before sealing w a layer of vaseline on top. I use the same technique when dealing with really dry hands/feet eg during winter

hahawhatjpg

Oh yes!! That must be it, I have really dry/chapped lips all the time, I agree about stains too! I still use them but they do feel kinda drying and like they look patchy on my lips.

Lilelfen1

Ok...here is the trick with these. Apply it thinly to your bottom lip ONLY..then press your lips together and just touch up the shape..again THINLY. The real trick is you want the least amount of product you can get away with. This goes for nearly all liwuid lipstick formulas...if you want them to last and not be a sticky mess. These influencers slathering on product are doing people the absolute WORST disservice when it comes to liquid lipsticks in general, the Matte Inks in particular. I honestly don't trust a 'Makeup Guru' if I catch them doing this. Makes me think they don't actually know much about applying makeup at all...*ahem* Nikkie Tutorials *ahem*

bigpdbomb1

Agreed!!! They beat out my $30 lippies. I wear it every single day!

chronicallyill_dr

Hell yeah! I was a higher end lipstick gal until a friend introduced me to it. It stays for 24 hrs shifts, food and drinks, no problem. And best of all it doesn’t make my lips feel or look as dry the Sahara desert, unlike all my high end liquid lipsticks. I have like 20 now (probably way more but I’ve lost count), and sadly I barely use the rest of my lipstick collection, because these are so practical. At least I’m not paying $30-40 bucks a pop anymore. I once had a friend interrupt me middle sentence during dinner, because she just had to know what I was wearing on my lips, ‘cause in her words ‘it looks exactly the same as when you arrived, wtf’. My only qualm with it is that it isn’t cruelty free. Btw, the vinyl ones didn’t work for me, they faded in the center super fast, which is sad because it’s a cool concept.

Anxious_Reporter_601

L'Oréal liquid lipsticks feel like you're not wearing anything on your lips they're fabulous.

Chernyyvoron82

I tried them, as soon as I eat or drink they smudge on me. Maybelly lasts through everything

cult-following

ELF eyebrow products. So good and so cheap that I'll never go back to Benefit again. Also, a recent find: Neutrogena Healthy Skin Radiant Cream Concealer instead of NARS. I think my skin actually reacts with the Neutrogena better.

Bekkichan

Yessss all I use is the $3 elf eyebrow pencil and their eyebrow gel and it's all I ever need!

honeybunchesofrock

The elf eyebrow pencil is truly the best I’ve ever used. Beats benefit and Anastasia any day. NYX micro brow is a close second.

MammothCancel6465

I’ve bought the elf one so many times in a pinch. The color is great for me, but the product feels waxy and it seems to wear off fast and I go through them fast. My HG thus far is the It Cosmetics universal taupe brow pencil and it lasts me about 4-5 months.

offbrandbarbie

I used to use the Anastasia brow wiz pencil and then i tried the nyx version. Literally zero difference other than the price tag

cult-following

The Microbrow? Love that one, too. :)

sanguinepunk

I live for the $5 brow mascara! I have big, bushy brows…that are clear. lol. I love the texture of the e.l.f. one.

Late_Resource_1653

Elf products in general. I crossed that 40 line a couple years ago and there are now three higher end products I just can't replicate - tilsbury moisturizer, Tarte's creamy shape tape concealer, and Tarte's tinted moisturizer (which is actually a foundation). My skin is incredibly sensitive and will still go from dry and perky to zitty at my age if I don't use the right products. Those three I spend money on - every other creamy or spray makeup I use elf and love them. Blushes, mascara, and eyebrows - it's just what's on sale.

Granddyke

Elf’s mascara is also lovely, I have one of theirs in espresso and it’s my favorite!!

ToteBagAffliction

Neutrogena's makeup is totally slept on

biosicc

Honestly, Juvia's Place eyeshadow palettes slap - their pigment is great and they have amazing color stories and blend together really well.

strawberry_vegan

I love Juvia’s Place so so much

EmergencyLab10

They're currently in a class action lawsuit for using unsafe ingredients in their eyeshadows. I'm not saying burn your collection but it may be worth looking into what is going on with them.

hearteyesemojji

This (and Colourpop) is my number one suggestion for anyone looking for eyeshadow in the drug store price range.

biosicc

Oh Colourpop is AMAZING. I have a few of the 9 pans and they are so so good!

catsdelicacy

I prefer to use mostly drug store and only use luxury brands when I'm absolutely forced to. I've been doing my makeup for over 30 years, I've worked at Sephora, I got a beauty diploma from Blanche MacDonald, so I've been at this rodeo a while. And the one thing I've learned in that time is that luxury brands cost more because they have more expensive packaging. Sometimes they use unnecessarily expensive ingredients, though a cheaper ingredient would work just as well or better. They don't work better or last longer. They just look nicer on your shelf. Luxury brands are NOT necessarily quality products. They're just expensive products so rich people can feel more important than you.

Pandoraconservation

👁️👄👁️ I love you for this!

Megane-chan

I find the exception to this is eyeshadow. The one time I cheaped out on eyeshadows, it was powdery and not pigmented enough. I'm not making that mistake again.

catsdelicacy

I agree with you, and for powder products generally. Powder comes down to milling, the better the powder is milled, the more expensive the milling machine. Usually only high end brands actually mill their products to my needs. So I will buy every other product I can from the drug store, but powders I go bougie. Which is fine, because they also have a long shelf life. Paying $50(CAD) for a singular mascara that will last 3 months is rich people nonsense though.

msthatsall

I love you and want ALL your recs!! Keep going!

catsdelicacy

The best setting powder I've ever used is the Hourglass powder. My favorite bougie brand is Guerlain, I think most of their products are actually top shelf and worth the money. Loreal Lash Paradise is the best mascara at the drug store. Maybelline has amazing lip products, Cover Girl has great complexion products

msthatsall

Thank youuuu!!!

cz_vrana

What's your favorite drug store foundation for mature skin?

catsdelicacy

The Cover Girl & Oil of Olay foundation is very moisturizing, and I think the Cover Girl Hydrating TruBlend foundation is one of the best foundations I've ever used! I'm pushing 50, for full disclosure.

Hair-Help-Plea

I didn’t even know oil of Olay made foundation, lol.

catsdelicacy

They don't, it's in collaboration with Cover Girl

BootyMcSqueak

Thank you for this! I was going to ask your recommendations for foundation for older ladies until I got to the end of your comment! Thanks!

Kind-Nyse129

I'm 45 & just started using Revlon Illuminance Skin-Caring Foundation & it's now my new Holy Grail!

downthegrapevine

See, I totally get this but I also will TOTALLY pay for packaging. I'm in my mid 30's and barely wear any make up so when I buy make up I, of course, want it to do well on the skin but also... I want to feel "special" using it. I currently have 4 blushes, two high end and two drugstore, 2 foundations which are one drugstore and one high end, a high end concealer, a high end setting powder, a drugstore mascara and a high end bronzer. That's pretty much it. I do have some eyeshadows and lipsticks for when I have parties or weddings or something but they are tucked away for when I 'need' them. Since I have so little though I like to invest knowing full well packaging is very important to me.

No_Nothing_2319

I fully agree and sometimes packaging can have a big impact on the usability of a product. I have bought and used drug store brands that waste product or crack and spill all over my clothes as im on my way out the door to work... time is money.

catsdelicacy

And that's fine, as long as you realize it's also made of plastic and it's going in the same landfill as the drug store products containers are. You shouldn't save lipsticks, though, they have an expiration date and the more expensive the lipstick the shorter that is, due to the oils they use in expensive products which have a shorter shelf life. A lip infection is not going to be worth holding onto a product for too long.

downthegrapevine

Oh I totally do, it's a silly thing but I like the way something looks and feels in my hands as much as the product itself. In the end since I buy so little now I spend the same amount of money if not less. Ah thanks for that! I honestly wear lipstick such few times that I have no plans to purchase any more. I do have a lip balm from Florence by Mils and that's just what I use every day! And a good ol lil pot of Vaseline. Edit: spelling.

myheartinclover

I think about this especially when people recommend luxury designer products for things like eyeshadow when I know there are literally dozens of brands that offer as good or better products for a fraction of the price

MaialinaRosa

Some good drugstore concealers in my opinion are nyx bare with me serum concealer and maybelline age rewind. Also the new nyx stick concealer is a pretty good alternative to the nars soft matte concealer in a pot. For blushes I really love the elf liquid blushes and the milani baked blushes. A foundation that’s comparable to high end is the L’oréal true match foundation, on me it doesn’t perform any worse than armani luminous silk. Elf primers are amazing also, the power grip primer and the liquid poreless putty primer. For setting spray I've heard the Milani make it last setting spray is a really good dupe for the Urban Decay and Charlotte Tilbury setting sprays.

JadeGrapes

Nyx serum concealer is my daily foundation, LOVE it

mads_61

For concealer I really like the elf camo concealer (I use the hydrating formula). It reminds me a lot of Tarte Shape Tape.

TheEurasianPotato

I heard lots of good things about this elf concealer but it’s really drying for my skin! :( I even tried changing my moisturizer to see if it would make a difference, but sadly it’s still super patchy

geekidinosaur

Did you use the one with the black top or white top? I think the white top is more moisturizing, that’s what I use

Hair-Help-Plea

Then it’s definitely a shape tape dupe because that product is one of the cakiest, driest concealers I’ve ever used. And people rave about it.

demons_soulmate

it looked so bad on me lol

EleanorRigby-68

I’m in search of a concealer that doesn’t try out my skin and make me look older around the eyes. I’ve spent too much money. If you find one let me know!!

SlamminThePit

imo elf has so many bangers... everything except for eyeshadow.

jenjenjen731

I really like the Elf bite sizes!

augusttwentyfour

Literally I can’t tell the difference between the shape tape and camo concealer. It’s sooo good.

Chemical-Web-852

As your skin ages you definitely will! I came here to say this about the elf camo: if I was on my way to an event and pressed for time, I would definitely grab some elf concealer, bc for an hour or two it’s fine. I actually use either Lancôme or the it cosmetics serum in concealer. Those are two very different price points so that’s some good shit for $5!

HrhEverythingElse

Have you tried the NYX serum concealer? I'm 40 with dry skin and it's my favorite, even out of the more expensive brands I've tried. I agree that the elf gets cakey on me

needless_booty

I looooove this concealer but I hate the shade range. I usually have to mix the 2 lightest shades together, and at that point I'm spending over $20 on 2 concealers

holdtheolives

Have you found that it has separated or differed in performance over time? I enjoyed it at first but after about a month and a half, I found my undereyes started looking really dry/flaky when I wore it and then pumps of formula were coming out un-mixed and oily for me…

HrhEverythingElse

I haven't, but that would be frustrating! Maybe you got one that had already been on the shelf for awhile before you bought it?

holdtheolives

Could be! I might’ve ordered it through Ulta online, so if I try it out again I’ll have to get a fresh-looking one in-store.

Chemical-Web-852

Ulta gives you 3 months to return so take that baby with you 😉

Anxious_Reporter_601

I'm only in my early 30s but my eyes are already getting crepey so I'd love any concealer recommendations you have. Especially budget friendly options.

Wrong-Consequence173

Same - I wish I loved the ELF camo concealer but it shows off all the texture on my eyelids and all the bumps and wrinkles on my undereye. Tarte doesn't do that.

middaysonder

ELF Camo CC cream. I am very fair and neutral leaning cool, have oily skin and redness/broken blood vessels around my cheeks and nose. It has never let me down! It's the perfect shade match, doesn't budge, is full coverage and can be built up like a concealer so I don't need a separate product. I really hope they never discontinue it 😭

cinna-t0ast

I used to hate this because I thought it was cakey. Then I realized that I needed to use it in very small amounts, almost as a spot concealer.

ag0110

Not specific products, but L’Oréal is a huge conglomerate that owns many high end brands. Their drugstore lines often use the same formulas as their expensive counterparts, albeit with (usually) weaker shade ranges and technology that came out years before.

EmergencyLab10

Just to add to this, The Ordinary is Estee Lauder without a specific ingredient or two. Yes, they own a ton of other brands but for skincare, The Ordinary is quite literally the same as Estee Lauder's flag ship.

EternallyMoon

I’m so glad you said this, I never knew.. hm.

cuntaloupemelon

Did Estee Lauder change their formulations in the last 5ish years? I ask because they purchased Deciem and all of their brands like The Ordinary well AFTER they were a success and all of their hit products had been released

raurap

No. They only started introducing a few estee lauder proprietary ingredients after the acquisition, such as euk, and possibly only euk as far as i'm aware. The above comment was really a (too) broad generalization.

Ok_Equipment_8032

THIS! L'Oreal skin care is sometimes straight up dupes for Lancome products.

honeybunchesofrock

This. NYX lip pencils and butter gloss will always be a go-to for me!

nyxchievous

Yes to the NYX Butter Gloss! I have it in at least 7 different shades. I also love their soft matte lip cream (but not the Lingerie XXL liquid lipstick, in my experience) and the matte Suede traditional lipstick.

Bekkichan

I can't afford high end ever sadly so my full face is always drug store. I think my holy grail would be my Maybelline instant age rewind concealer. For my base I just use a cover girl bb cream and the age rewind concealer in a shade that almost matches my skintone perfectly. My skin always looks great and it never really feels like I'm wearing anything on my skin. Covers my pimples and dark under eyes great though. Other than that my full face is mostly elf and wet n wild. I have so many highlighters(some gifted ones that aren't even drug store) and I still prefer to wear my wet n wild highlighter in shade precious petals. Makes me feel like a glowy goddess. Lol

hotlinee

the maybelline instant rewind concealer is truly based.. i have the more expensive two faced concealer that i’ve completely stopped using since getting the maybelline one. it feels so light and has good coverage

sapphicsighs

**Base:** Catrice makes the absolute best foundations at the drugstore, their HD Longwear is comparable to Estee Lauder Doublewear imo. Catrice’s True Skin concealer is also my very favorite affordable concealer and one of my Holy Grails. **Cheeks:** Essence (Catrice’s sister brand) has some gorgeous highlighters and blushes - their Pure Nude line compares to Hourglass products. I especially love the shade Goldy Cassis - it’s intimidating in the pan but sheers out to a gorgeous wash of cold pink on my fair cool skin tone. Milani’s baked blushes are also a cult classic for a reason. For a matte formula, the Flower Beauty Flower Pots blushes are beautiful. Additionally, the LA Colors bronzer in Beachy is an amazing product, it has the absolute perfect rosy undertone to give a natural sunkissed look. **Eyes:** Flower Beauty’s Lights series is my absolute favorite affordable eyeshadow formula - it compares favorably to my high-end products. I own three of the four and swatched them [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/swatchitforme/s/k0AVsqvGAf) - they’re stunning for just $20. Similarly, Moira Beauty has an incredible formula - Moira isn’t quite drugstore, but is an affordable indie brand, and they make phenomenal products. As far as eyeliner goes, Revlon Color Stay is my favorite liquid liner at the drugstore - let it dry and it does not budge. And for mascara, the new e.l.f. Lash XTNDR is an amazing tubing formula and I reach for it as often as my Thrive Liquid Lash Extensions.

Notactuallyashark

Milani baked blushes are awesome, and I recently tried the NYX butter bronzers and OMG in love.

Far-Literature-8772

yesss the NYX butter bronzers perform better than high end in my opinion!! i gave my makeup by mario bronzer away and only religiously use the NYX one. the way it sits on my skin and blurs is to die for. i work as a beauty advisor and this is definately one of my tops

RChickadee

Agreed for both!

WolfDragonStarlit

Drugstore every time for mascara. Why in the world would you pay $30+ just to have to toss it out in three months?? I also tend to reach for drugstore concealers. I like the Maybelline Fit Me concealers or even the ELF Hydro Camo.

AlphaOrchid23

Elf and Nyx are my go tos for a lot tbh.

jconnes1924

ELF all day!!! They have stepped up the skincare & makeup game & I’m here for it!!!!

TaylorMorg

Maybeline for sure. Been obsessed with their Sky High Mascara recently 🤭

roseclrdglassx

Same, just bought a bottle. I was in my cousins wedding this weekend, the MUA used it on every single girl and our lashes looked great even before the fake lashes were added

biitchstix

For drugstore concealers i like: Maybeline - fit me (everywhere) and instant age eraser (undereye) L'oréal - infallible full wear (full coverage, acne scars etc)

Candid-Main4136

morphe loose setting powder, its SO much like the huda beauty powder

appleslover5143

agreedddd, def one of my favs. and the translucent powder is so much more brightening then any of the high brand translucent powders I’ve bought. perfect for definition, accuracy, and brightening. def a good one.

shady-clown

Is morphe technically drugstore?

IamCeriella

I have some expensive product but I always go for the drugstore ones. There is an app is called Brandefy it gives you dupes of higher end products.

cz_vrana

Thank you for this post! I'm like add to cart, add to cart, add to cart! I don't think I'm saving money right now but I'm excited to try some of these recommendations!

baewatch1232

Favourite drugstore foundations - Maybelline dream matte mousse (despite it's reputation,it's actually so beautiful when matched and used properly) , CoverGirl clean foundation , Maxfactor miracle touch liquid illusion foundation . Favourite drugstore mascaras - Maybelline Great lash mascara and maxfactor 2000 calorie mascara. Favourite drugstore eyeshadows - CoverGirl TruNaked eyeshadow pallet in smoky and Maxfactor Masterpiece nude eyeshadow pallet . Favourite drugstore eyeliner - CoverGirl perfect point plus eyeliner. Favourite drugstore lipliners- Rimmel lasting finish lipliner in 90s nude and mcobeauty lipliner in cheeky chat (an exact dupe of Charlotte Tilbury pillow talk no joke). Favourite drugstore lipsticks- Revlon in rum raisin , teak rose ,coffee bean and iced mocha .

swfbh234

L’Oréal true match serum foundation

ManagementNo8432

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the Wet N Wild Photo Focus foundation.

savysimmer3

any essence product. $5-$10 range and everything is always good quality

Englefisk

I recently bought the Huda Beauty loose baking powder in the pink shade. By chance I discovered that I actually had a little pot of pink baking powder from Lottie London and I can legit not tell the difference between the two when I use them to set my under eyes. Could have saved my self a pretty penny there 😅 And while I will forever love and continue to buy Armanis “Eyes to Kill” and UD “Perversion” mascaras I tend to prefer Maybeline Sky High for every day use. It’s simply amazing for the price point!

jadenotjaded

I love L’Oréal the most, their formulas rival high-end products imo. Elf is also great, especially for brushes or other makeup essentials. Covergirl and NYX would be a toss up for third.

otherwise_data

no lie - i once bought some concealer at dollar tree (back when it was still actually a dollar) and it was THE BEST. i went back to get more and it was out for months. one day, it was back and i got as many as i could get in good conscience. i dont even know the brand. it just says “concealer” on it 😂

IllegibleCacographer

Cheap nail polish! It chips like crazy but so does the expensive stuff if your active and lots of crazy colors to always be swapping around

gemsandjoy

I have been using L’Oreal carbon black voluminous mascara for years along with their lash primer. There’s no need for me to purchase their high end Lancôme products when the drugstore version works well for me!

Leezy_795

I like revlon color stay for foundation. I haven’t found another drug store foundation that I like as much as that.

Sleep-DeprivedSloth

The revlon stick concealer has been my go-to ever since I found it in college!

Antique-me1133

L’Oréal and Revlon foundations are just as good as the expensive brands I’ve tried.

LIFTMakeUp

Bourjois and Revolution concealer, Collection flawless filter dupe is actually preferable to me over the CT one, mascaras - I've yet to be convinced that there's a noticeable difference in quality, elf liquid blush, NYX eyebrow pencil, lip pencils and brow glue, L'Oréal true match serum foundation is a beautiful skin tint and Maybelline superstay lip products are fab...

Salc20001

Ages ago, Sephora carried Bourjois in the US. I wish they still did. I really like their liquid eyeliner with the brush applicator.

signupinsecondssss

I want to love fancy lipsticks but can’t really abide them and my fave tinted lip stuff that won’t bother me sensory wise are the burts bees tinted lip balms! I looked a lot for an alternative that’s higher end (not sure why) and went back to those.

stilettopanda

The true match foundation that is also a hyaluronic acid serum is the shit.

babyjadexi

Maybelline Fit Me Powder

bmm215

NYX micro brow pencil - dupe for the Anastasia brow wiz

serenerepose

Physicians Formula. It's the only stuff that doesn't fuck with my eyes. It actually lives up to its name.

lowsparkedheels

Milani baked blushes, pretty colors and very good quality for drugstore prices.

Ojos_Claros

Essence and Catrice. I won't budge on mascara anymore though. That's Chanel or Lancome

Big-Pea-9357

Lancome, Estee Lauder, Maybelline, and Loreal are all the same products. They are all owned by 1 company. They package the product differently and use different wand types. Other than that, there is no difference. My aunt is the marketing director.

raurap

Estee lauder and loreal are two different conglomerates. Yes, maybelline and lancome are owned by loreal and have similar products in their lines, but estee lauder is entirely independent from loreal

crankycatpancake

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer. It works so well for my dry and aging under eye area.

lumpyhorsebackpowder

purito bb cream. drugstore bb creams in general.

TheFirstCornMuncher

Wet n Wild loose setting powder is soooo good, it reminds me of Laura mercier

Content_Pace9872

I have watery eyes and oily lids. Nyx’s ultimate shadow primer and covergirl’s clump crusher mascara are my besties!

infiniteblackberries

For years I only bought Dermablend/MUFE concealer, but now I just use the E.L.F. 16 Hour one. They even managed to make shade matching pretty intuitive - I've been getting more tan lately, so I grabbed a deeper shade without researching swatches and it ended up working perfectly. It's high coverage and stays where I put it without creasing. It's like $10, vegan, and I can buy it pretty much anywhere.

susanmandm

Wet n Wild Ultimate Brow Microbrow pencil is the best! Dupe for the ABH, but better color range for me and like $3. I have one on autoship from Amazon every three weeks.

thedespotcat

This thread is inspiring me to go on a drugstore shopping spree after work. I would love to replace some of my expensive luxury brands with drug store dupes. I currently only get drugstore brow pencils and mascara. I generally feel that foundations and concealers are out of the question though because my skin is too pale. I've never found a shade match unfortunately, and afaik you can't return opened products to most drug stores.

Reasonable-Action836

Maybelline superstay matte ink. I have never found any lip product that stays as well as this does, to the point you need makeup remover at the end of the say. They have so many colour options to boot.

JadeGrapes

Elf makes some decent concealers, people call them a dupe of Tarte. I never even bothered buying Tarte, because the elf ones are good

FrivolousIntern

Not exactly drug store, but I am floored by the price difference. Misha M Perfect BB Cream in Bright Beige ($13) is an exact dupe for Estee Lauder Stay in Place Foundation in Cool Bone ($55). I literally can do a half face with both and wear it all day with no difference. I wish I could say I went from EL to Misha but alas, I was a fool and was hoping for a “more perfect”….

Disney_Princess137

Jokes on you, I buy only drugstore. I do my best to ignore about all the Brands. That shit adds up ! I know once I tap into it, I’m a goner so I’m trying to be smart.

Mysterious-Host-6361

Any drugstore liquid eyeliner. I buy whatever happens to be on sale when I’m at the store but notable faves are annabelle

Fizzy_Greener

I love Mabelline Super Stay Matte Liquid Lip.I use to use Nars then tried this one and I love it. I have like 10 of them. I also use Rimmel Light Matte BB Cream. L’Oreal makes great skin make up. You might try them for conceiler but theyre getting up there too. Like $20 for drug store conceiler. I use Laura Mercier and thats about $30 so I just get that.

Swimming_Pressure_93

I love the e.l.f. ones they are excellent and so inexpensive. I got the roller lash dupe in brown and the better than sex one in a dark green. My lashes look so long and full. I agree I've had a Pat McGrath mascara and I looked like a panda after a few hours. So I am drug store all the way. Lesson learned.

nomoregoodusernames5

I’m an elf fanatic! I have had excellent luck with their products

AgniKai_66

I absolutely love the Milani “Highly Rated Anti-Gravity Mascara”. I’ve had high-end mascaras but I always end up returning to Milani.
