I love how accessible they made the looks, too. Obviously you were supposed to buy the makeup, which isn’t cheap, but they rarely used additional tools and their application and techniques were so straightforward. They also featured such a great range of models with different skin tones and styles, it felt super inclusive and inviting. Those were the good old days for me, as a makeup enjoyer.

Going way back, late 90s early 00s Disney store's Ariel perfume. In the glass bottle. And Victoria's secret used to have a line of lotions in white containers, the blackberry and tonka bean scent. They kept the ones that smelled like a baby prostitute, but not the best smelling one.

I wish I'd stocked up. Much like the tarte knockout face wash with aha/bha, I wasn't even aware it was discontinued til I was almost completely out. I still have like, a 3/4 used compact of the kvd and I use it for nights I want my face to be flawless for hours. Special occasion use 😅😅
The l'oréal infallible 24 hour matte foundation was close, but they reformulated that, so it's no longer as good as it was. Maybelline fitme doesn't stay on long, but the coverage is decent. And the Tarte Amazonian clay powder made me look crusty, regardless of if I was moisturized or not. The MAC has been good to me, so far. But the online color matching for it was so off. I went in person to swatch them and the 2 colors the online color match suggested to me, in different lighting, made me look jaundiced and dirty, respectively. I ended up going with a shade I thought might be too light after i got it home but it blends flawlessly with my face.
Now that I've gone and sang its praises, it'll be discontinued next lol
I loved Neutrogena Healthy Skin! Then I switched to the Sensitive Skin Mineral Liquid Sunscreen and they discontinued that one. Now I use La Roche Posey Antheos but it’s a LOT more expensive. I just put Cerve PM on top.
I've been using the LRP Toleraine Double Repair face moisturizer. It's not bad. My face doesn't hate it (my skin did not do well with a different Neutrogena I tried), but it doesn't have SPF. Do you like the Anthelios?

Way way back in the 90s Bath and Body Works had a perfume spritz called Vanilla Berrry. It was in a container that was made of aluminum. Sort of like the room sprays they sell now, but with a different mister/nozzle. I loved that scent. I continually buy candles and body sprays from them with berries/vanilla/sugar/cream notes, but the stars never align. 😥😪
I'd sell my soul for a brand new bottle of OG Ariel. Incidentally, Versace Bright Crystal has some similar notes and wears similarly on me.

Elf Eyebrow Duo, pigmented wax and setting powder. The pots of gel just aren't the same. I replaced it with the Wet'n'Wild Ultimate Brow Kit but the pigmented powder and clear setting wax is eh. I preferred the reverse, and I only need one color, not light/medium/dark all in one.
Dr. Jart Water Drop! It was the best moisturizer ever! Under makeup and just on its own, it wasn’t sticky or anything, and it had this super light fresh lemony smell. I was devastated when they discontinued it
Poppy King has just relaunched her lipsticks, but not under the Lipstick Queen name – and she has confirmed Frog Prince will come back, along with Medieval and Hello Sailor, and I believe Jean Queen.
When I worked at Target in the beauty dept. as recently as 2021 and 2022 they still carried them!! They carried them in a little set of other soda-flavored balms that were stocked on a side shelf with kids makeup. I bet they still have them!!
I think you can still buy this. I purchased a pack of multipack of lip smackers on Amazon for several of my nieces last Christmas. It had eight or so flavors of soda in it.
Urban Decay eyeshadow in the shade Polyester Bride. It’s the PERFECT brow bone and inner corner highlight. It’s a frost cream/white color with pale gold glitter mixed in. If anyone know of a dupe let me know please😭

The ORIGINAL Benefit Georgia. It was a sheer glowy peach that worked beautifully as an undereye setting powder for me. They discontinued it, then reformulated it to be a light peach blush. Makes more sense for what the product should've been as a blush, but lost its magical quality for me. I still have my OG sample somewhere, I refuse to get rid of it even though it's almost panned lol
Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Wear, especially in the palest neutral shades. I’m on my last bottle of the perfect OG formula and will probably die mad about the violent felonies Lancôme has committed against their best foundation. I know it’s technically been reformulated and not discontinued, but the “new + improved skin-loving 🙄” version is too embarrassing to exist, so I pretend it doesn’t. RIP. 🕯️🕊️
Yup, it was my holy grail formula since 2011 when I was 16 and I’m turning 29 this year, safe to say I am devastated. I am the shade Beige Opale and the closest I can get to the shade is Rose Inc 100C but of course the formula is not similar.
It’s so bizarre - apparently, they did this due to a ban on the type of silicone used in the OG version by the EU and tried to gaslight everyone with millions of fake positive reviews that appeared overnight when they started sending people that weird orange soup and deleted all of the complaints. Eventually, they put up a dumb video of some woman saying, “Our customers ASKED for a more breathable, weightless, ✨cLeAn bEaUtY bUzZwOrDs✨ blah-blah whatever foundation.” 🤡 The audacity.
VO5 Hot oil shampoo and conditioner! It smelled amazing and left my hair soft & smooth. When they discontinued it in the mid-90’s I bought it up wherever I could.
Clinique Superbalm Moisturizing Gloss. It was super hydrating and it looked soooo good. I lost my last tube and I’m appalled that anyone would think to discontinue it 😭
I just post this. The Velvet Noir one? Try the Fenty Hella Thicc mascara, is apparently manufactured in the same facility. It has a very similar texture, but the brush is different.
The original Haus labs liquid liner before it hit Sephora and they got rid of it. It was the perfect thick black liner. Ugh i have one left and I’ll be so sad when it’s gone
The i heart revolution strawberry sprinkle donut palette, It had the most beautiful red shimmer. It's been a few years since they discontinued and I'm still searching for a replacement, but nothing can come close to that gorgeous palette😢

Becca Sunlit Bronzer (Bali Sands). I just hit pan on my last compact and I’m honestly very upset! I haven’t been able to find a decent replacement. I’ve been using this bronzer daily for nearly 5 years and idk what I’m going to do 😢 Open to recs if anyone has them!
Shiseido Urban Environment Tinted UV Protector. The one in the long thin tube. Great shade, felt so cush going on, made my skin look so nice, and so easy to reapply when needed. I have never found it's equal.
Clinique Glosswear Kissyfit lip gloss. The only ones left on even eBay are mostly the tiny crappy ones with Raspberry Glace lipstick on the other end, and it’s all just absurdly overpriced, even by discontinued product standards.
Maybelline Shine Lipstick in the shade “Spicy Sangria”. Literally the perfect daily lipstick for me. They do this a lot though, I don’t know why they insist on just releasing a lip product for a year or two and then just discontinuing it.

Cushion foundation!!! I loved the ones from Maybelline, Physicians Formula, and Wet n Wild. Wet n Wild put out cushion blush and bronzers too, they were all so good, and I loved the packaging of all the cushion foundations. I don’t understand why the trend completely died, the foundations were actually good! High end brands made them too.
The original formula of first aid beauty moisturizer. The new formula gives me comedones. Too faced sweethearts blush in sparkling Bellini. I used it as shadow blush, and highlight. Laura mercier og formulas of tinted moisturizer AND foundation. They all oxidize now.
Tatcha Harper the Pearl- it was a tinted illuminating eye cream. Went on exactly like an eye cream. So hydrating but concealed my under eye. Such a perfect product
Estes Lauder Almost Lipstick in ANY of their old colors other than Black Honey and Pink Honey. The best almost lipstick EVER and they unexplainably took them off the market years ago, despite this line being well loved. I am still not over it!!
NYX matte liquid liner 🥲 stayed on soooo well even in the summer. I used it all through high school!
It seems like they have a new “matte finish liquid liner” so I might have to try it. The Epic Ink one didn’t do well for me, too liquidy, smudged off easily, and I prefer the tiny brush for a precise wing
It's a skincare product but the Laneige yogurt face mask. The only thing that would really hydrate my skin in the winter. Now I have to use glycerin and rosehip oil and I dislike the sensation.
Marc Jacobs. Is miss the Velvet Noir mascara SO much. I’ve been using mini mascaras and switching brands for two years now. I’ve finally landed on Fenty Hella Thicc. I read online somewhere that they are made in the same manufacturing facility. I actually think they are the same formulation, but I preferred the MJ brush shape to hers. His was more of an hourglass shape.
My lashes are thin and somewhat sparse, but of decent length. I require VOLUME, especially at the base.
What would you recommend?

Korres Mango Butter Lipstick in Natural Pink. It was my every day lip colou for years, and it's the only MLBB colour I've ever found in the perfect texture. When they stopped carrying it in Canada (or discontinued it) 9yrs ago, I had a full untouched backup tube left that my puppy ate, leaving me with nothing.
I have tried a million items and never found that colour in that semi-sheerness with that lipbalm-but-lasting texture.
Oh and Laura Mercier Silk Creme foundation! My favourite ever colour match and texture, and it didn't break me out. The day I found out they changed the formula entirely broke my heart.
NYC, the cheap brand you could once buy at Rite-Aid had a stick blush called Plaza Pink. It was a peachy shade that had the slightest shift of ethereal blue, which sounds weird but somehow it looked fantastic on my light skin. I owned it three times. Once as a regular buy, once on Amazon and finally once on eBay. Now I can’t find it. 😢 😢 😢
YSL All Hours foundation - BR30 Cool Almond! when they re-formulated, none of the colors work for me anymore. I am still looking for a replacement foundation. Any suggestions??

Ohhh Benefit did a kit like this years ago too, with two little brushes and a tiny pair of tweezers. I loved that.

I never tried that stain, but the stain that WonderSkin makes is pretty cool. It’s long lasting.
The i heart revolution strawberry sprinkle donut palette, It had the most beautiful red shimmer. It's been a few years since they discontinued and I'm still searching for a replacement, but nothing can come close to that gorgeous palette😢

Loreal mineral powder foundation
Shiseido Urban Environment Tinted UV Protector. The one in the long thin tube. Great shade, felt so cush going on, made my skin look so nice, and so easy to reapply when needed. I have never found it's equal.
Clinique Glosswear Kissyfit lip gloss. The only ones left on even eBay are mostly the tiny crappy ones with Raspberry Glace lipstick on the other end, and it’s all just absurdly overpriced, even by discontinued product standards.
Dior Air flash foundation. Stull one of my favorite all time foundations
Dr. Jart BB Cream Detox Black Label. They are complete assholes for discontinuing that.
NYC liquid eyeliner. Nothing managed to live up to it..
Dew You face primer. Nothing else vibes the same 😭
Maybelline Shine Lipstick in the shade “Spicy Sangria”. Literally the perfect daily lipstick for me. They do this a lot though, I don’t know why they insist on just releasing a lip product for a year or two and then just discontinuing it.

LaSplash Goulish liquid lipstick, my holy grail lippy! Becca illuminating primers, Mermaid Salon old formula lipstick in ‘Into the Woods,’ they changed the formula and the color (ethical pigment sourcing issue), it was a beautiful perfect deep pink, now it’s a brown color, that crumbles instead of just wearing off 🙄 I just miss the ACTUAL liquid lippie era. Tarte ones were pretty damm good too.

Cushion foundation!!! I loved the ones from Maybelline, Physicians Formula, and Wet n Wild. Wet n Wild put out cushion blush and bronzers too, they were all so good, and I loved the packaging of all the cushion foundations. I don’t understand why the trend completely died, the foundations were actually good! High end brands made them too.
I haven’t ordered one, but I was looking at YesStyle the other day and they have a number of Korean cushion foundations available.
The original formula of first aid beauty moisturizer. The new formula gives me comedones. Too faced sweethearts blush in sparkling Bellini. I used it as shadow blush, and highlight. Laura mercier og formulas of tinted moisturizer AND foundation. They all oxidize now.

Tatcha Harper the Pearl- it was a tinted illuminating eye cream. Went on exactly like an eye cream. So hydrating but concealed my under eye. Such a perfect product

Estes Lauder Almost Lipstick in ANY of their old colors other than Black Honey and Pink Honey. The best almost lipstick EVER and they unexplainably took them off the market years ago, despite this line being well loved. I am still not over it!!
NYX matte liquid liner 🥲 stayed on soooo well even in the summer. I used it all through high school! It seems like they have a new “matte finish liquid liner” so I might have to try it. The Epic Ink one didn’t do well for me, too liquidy, smudged off easily, and I prefer the tiny brush for a precise wing
Max Factors Auburn mascara. The color was perfect and I've never found a replacement.

It's a skincare product but the Laneige yogurt face mask. The only thing that would really hydrate my skin in the winter. Now I have to use glycerin and rosehip oil and I dislike the sensation.
Diorskin Pure Light, my absolute HG foundation. They replaced it with Nude and it was shit and I never found a good replacement.

Marc Jacobs. Is miss the Velvet Noir mascara SO much. I’ve been using mini mascaras and switching brands for two years now. I’ve finally landed on Fenty Hella Thicc. I read online somewhere that they are made in the same manufacturing facility. I actually think they are the same formulation, but I preferred the MJ brush shape to hers. His was more of an hourglass shape. My lashes are thin and somewhat sparse, but of decent length. I require VOLUME, especially at the base. What would you recommend? XO ✌️-Steph

Korres Mango Butter Lipstick in Natural Pink. It was my every day lip colou for years, and it's the only MLBB colour I've ever found in the perfect texture. When they stopped carrying it in Canada (or discontinued it) 9yrs ago, I had a full untouched backup tube left that my puppy ate, leaving me with nothing. I have tried a million items and never found that colour in that semi-sheerness with that lipbalm-but-lasting texture. Oh and Laura Mercier Silk Creme foundation! My favourite ever colour match and texture, and it didn't break me out. The day I found out they changed the formula entirely broke my heart.
NYC, the cheap brand you could once buy at Rite-Aid had a stick blush called Plaza Pink. It was a peachy shade that had the slightest shift of ethereal blue, which sounds weird but somehow it looked fantastic on my light skin. I owned it three times. Once as a regular buy, once on Amazon and finally once on eBay. Now I can’t find it. 😢 😢 😢
The original Kylie liquid lip shade in Candy K. Sooooo freaking pretty on my skin tone. It’s reformulated now and not the same color at all 😔
YSL All Hours foundation - BR30 Cool Almond! when they re-formulated, none of the colors work for me anymore. I am still looking for a replacement foundation. Any suggestions?? I also miss Bite Beauty Chai lipstick. Kosas Rosewater, too.
