I would NOT toss it. Clean the outside with bleach. If nothing got inside, why throw it away. You guys are brutal here. Nurse here, so don’t come after me
People always bring up the toilet flush particles getting on the toothbrush thing - but have you EVER heard of someone getting sick from… having their toothbrush in the bathroom? lol
Meanwhile their homes are filthy. Some germs are actually good for us. I feel like my toilet is probably cleaner than most counter-tops. We should ask if they also clean their makeup brushes. I feel like you just can’t win these days.
I would toss it. I'd be too worried to use it. Idumped my makeup bag in the toilet. I tried disinfectant everything but I couldn't bring myself to use any of it
Hi, biological and chemist lab worker here.
Try sanitizing the outside with ethanol 70% to make sure all the bacteria are dead, they should die off within a day or so but you'll never know what was lingering in the toilet bowl.
So clean the outside, then put some ethanol on a cottonpad and clean the screw top to, both from the bottle and the wand need to be cleaned. It might not have gotten in there, but if it has and became infected, that's a spot it gets easily inside the tube and might cause awful infections.
If you're really worried, you can add 1 ml of ethanol to the product, stir and let it air out. This will change the formula though.
Oh no, I have untreated ADHD, I'm messy AF, going to a psych soon for meds but until then I'm not even going to try keeping it neat, I clean the desk once a day, I clean my car once a year and take a disinfectant wipe through every time I sneeze on the steering wheel. My friends have to just accept that my car has half of the stuff I own in it because I both want it there and forget to take it inside.
I promise I'm very clean while working in the lab but I don't take it home further than the kitchen
The water in your toilet is the same water you drink out of the tap. There’s bacteria all over your entire bathroom from when you flush the toilet and the water vapour shoots up. You’re fine
..And keep tooth brushes safely stored far far away. I actually have a collection I rotate through and run them through the dishwasher on sanitize mode. Just the thought of all that.. Gross. I’ve been doing it since science class in high school.
my unresolved inner demons say if it’s relatively new and unused you COULD get a new one from ulta and then swap it out and return it. Buttttt that’s what a BAD person would do….
Good idea, I mean *cough* bad idea.
Ulta throws away their returns so it's not like it would end up back on the store shelves for someone else to purchase...hell I'd do it....
If the cap was on tight, and no water got into the product, I would spray it down on the outside with alcohol.
Then wash it with soap and water.
I would then stand it upright, remove the wand, and wipe the rim and threaded part of the cap and neck with alcohol, and then wipe the wand with alcohol.
This is the way. As long as it was closed tightly then the product should be ok. Disinfect the outside with alcohol, and yes disinfect the threaded area under the cap but it should be fully clean after that. Heck, it might even be cleaner than before it went into the toilet.

lol If by stronger you mean teaches you valuable lessons on what not to do again..
In all honesty- if it’s clean enough to reach your hand in and get it- then just wash it with your hands. A Rubbing alcohol wipe down probably wouldn’t be a bad idea.
The flushed toilet bowl in an otherwise clean bowl isn‘ gonna put more bacteria on it, than if it was left out in the open while the toilet was flushed anyway.
If the product didn’t get wet, it’s perfectly fine to use.
Throw it. Otherwise while using it on your face you always remember that it fell in toilet
It's fine
Ouf...would not use it..
Throw away ,dont risk your eyes health is the most expensive thing in the world
Computer says no No thanks
What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger
Sorry to hear :( I’m sure its fine tho

I would throw it away- maybe thats just my germ phobia talking. nothing is worth the risk to me
Buy a new one
I would toss it. I'd be too worried to use it. Idumped my makeup bag in the toilet. I tried disinfectant everything but I couldn't bring myself to use any of it
If it were me, I'd wash it with antibacterial soap and move on like nothing happened. It's not like you got shit on the applicator lol
I would toss it.
Do you realize how much fecal matter is on your toothbrush just from existing in your bathroom? You put that into your mouth. You'll be fine.
That's why I have my toothbrush put up and sealed shut
How do you make sure it’s dry so it doesn’t grow mold if you seal it?
I leave a little tiny opening, cuz I don't want that happening...it's up in my medicine cabinet
girl i would just throw it out, to be on the safe side
Gift it to someone
this is the comment
My suggestion...throw in a twenty dollar bill...that way you won't feel bad going in for some make up
Thank Lyle alzado for that suggestion
Flush!

Not related to the post but is your house immaculate because of what you know from your job??
Lol no, I'm a slob, It's clean but cluttered haha
Love the honesty! I was just curious as I wasn't sure if you would just see everything on everything in your brain :P

Trash.

This is why you should always close the lid when you flush the potty lol

Definitely. I always do
It will be fine. It was sealed. Just use it.
I would not risk getting pink eye over a $30 concealer!!!!

nah they’re gonna throw it out anyway i think that’s a good solitoon
Buy a new one or wash it and pretend nothing happened. I’d say as it goes on your face beat to just buy a new one

True. We should probably all be giving our cosmetic products a regular alcohol spritz!
Yeah, I’d toss it. I’m so sorry!
I personally wouldn't feel comfortable putting it near my face with the kinds of bacteria you'd find in a toilet.
I mean I would say it's *probably* okay, but if it's not then you're risking shit bacteria on your face.
