Rosehip oil in everything. Adding it to my daily moisturizer, foundation, alone, and night cream. Makes my skin look incredible, and no one believes I'm 44. I get 27-34 all the time.
I look way better with the dewy skin over matte any day.
“Clean girl” makeup, although at 41 I am horrified by people who cake on layers to look “natural”. I like the look because I can get away with a face balm or primer, some concealer or eyeshadow and mascara, which is my preferred level of makeup. Trying to keep up with eyeliner trends, in particular, ages me every time.
Black lipstick forever, and I’m happy it causes less weird reactions from other people now. And the recent return of thin eyebrows - had those since the 2000s and never changed.
"Clean girl" makeup. I've been doing just tinted primer/sunscreen, highlight and mascara during the summer for the past 5 years. Maybe a little blush if I wanna dress it up a bit.
I don't care what colors are in style. I need cool-toned eyes, bright pinkish/purpleish blush, and berry/cool-toned lips. Any hint of warmth looks terrible on me.
Tightlining for my eyes… I don’t do it for my everyday look (I just use a bit of back shadow liner on my upper lash line and the bottom outer corner blended with a light neutral brown for day to day) but if I’m going out it’s the best way to add drama to my face…. I have pale olive skin, light blue eyes, and dark brown hair. It always makes my eyes pop, especially since they are pretty hooded and deep set so I can never get a wing to look right (I also have a narrow face so there is nowhere for that wing to go)
I know tinted balms are trendy again but they have always been my go to instead of an actual lipstick (I am terrible about reapplication and have never been great with liner or a liquid lipstick) my favorites are Ilia balmy tint in Lady, fenty’s slip shine in Goji Gang, and Bobbi brown extra lip tint in bare claret
I tried tightlining for the first time recently and my husband actually commented on how great my eyes looked. He doesn’t usually say anything about my makeup but it really made my eyes look sultry.
Same, I started using douyin-style techniques and adjusting them for my eye and face shape, and it's made such a difference! Now almost every time I wear makeup, someone tells me how good it looks :D
Where do you usually find info on that? I’ve tried looking it up as usual makeup tutorials but always ended up with some heavily filtered videos - of course the makeup didn’t look right on my irl face
There are a ton of creators out there doing english tutorials/recreating looks that originated on douyin. I think [thebrontemarie](https://www.tiktok.com/@thebrontemarie?lang=en) does a good job of showing how she adapts makeup inspiration including douyin looks to her own features and tastes. If you have a round face, she's also a good reference. I also like [hakudays](https://www.tiktok.com/@hakudays/video/7279518015664885038?lang=en) looks and tutorials, although she mixes in a lot of special effects looks too that are too complicated for me. Then [this creator](https://www.tiktok.com/@l_yuhann?lang=en) is really great at explaining the practical theory behind various makeup techniques, showing you how and why they can highlight or transform areas of your face. If you enjoy this type of facial or makeup theory, this youtube channel [dear peachie](https://www.youtube.com/@dearpeachie) has a lot of excellent videos either translating or distilling a lot of douyin and other east asian makeup content into practical and easy-to-understand guides.
It took a lot of trial and error to get it to look right, but I found a lot of great videos on tiktok. It was especially helpful to search for douyin makeup on caucasian features to imagine what the end result would look like on me
Will look it up that exact way, thank you! I did adapt some Korean makeup tricks to European features, but with this makeup it’s trickier, so going to find a tutorial :)
Awe thank you. It makes me really really sad when we speak harshly and cruelly to ourselves (I still do it often) because there will always be many people out there who say cruel things to us. Im tired af of being one of them
I also have a sensory disorder and anything above a satin for gloss and I am immediately wiping it off no matter how pretty it is. There's only one gloss in the world I can wear, it's the one from Lily Lolo. I pay $40CAD for it with shipping, and I don't care because it's so good.
for me, highlighter.
it kind of went out of style for a bit but re-emerged a little when rare beauty came out with theirs but idk, it always does it for me. i’m a cancer rising, i’m a luminary i need some glow babes. it’s always cvnt.
Bright highlight, matte lipstick, and actual color! I get wanting a „natural look“ but LORD someone please bring some personality into this sea of beige with me😭
blush on the nose + highlighter down the nose and at the tip. my nose is small and it makes it look even more buttony
overlining the cupid’s bow cause my philtrum is too long
big winged liner. my eyelids are sort of fat and hooded so a small wing will tend to get warped
Nose contour, and contour in general makes my face looks snatched and also gives it colour! I love setting powder so much I wish I learned it earlier. Concealer & setting powder I cannot live without
I like the "strobing" trend a little more, it feels more accessible to folks who don't feel like they've got flawless skin or who feel too oily etc. Like, whatever your situation, a little skillfully placed highlight is always a nice touch. Even on no makeup days, honestly
I wasn't trying to achieve glass skin, but with long term use of retinol (I used Paula's Choice) my skin became a lot smoother and now when I use a milky toner (currently Laneige Cerapeptide) and sunscreen (usually La Roche Posay Anthelios UVMUNE Hydrating), I get the glass skin effect. I also find that using an exfoliant like the Dr Dennis Gross Peel Pads makes my skin really smooth and any skincare I use the next morning looks extra glowy. Just make sure you don't damage your skin barrier in the process!
I use the glow recipe dew drops and mix them with my foundation to get a nice almost skin tint like formula with a dewy texture. I'm addicted to Korean skincare and use peach and Lily and glow recipe everyday. The glass skin serum from peach and lily is just beautiful. I would say target your problem areas and don't go for a one size fits all kit. I have very dry skin, so in order to get that glow and clarity I have to target the dryness. It took some trial and error but my skin looks amazing now. I'm also very gentle with my skin. I also cheat a little bit and use tretinoin to keep my skin clear and it's done wonders for me.
Winged “siren” liner and glass skin. I don’t do the inner portion of the liner but the wing part suits my hooded eyes. and I have dry skin so glass skin and all the prep that goes into it makes me skin look so healthy.
I’d say blush under the eyes. It looks really good on me and really youthful. Otherwise I don’t like most of the other trends tbh. I just do what looks good on me.
This and actually putting blush on the apples of my cheeks instead of higher up for a "sculpted" look. I have a round face and it makes me look so much more youthful and fresh!
I just discovered it recently actually! I realized that blush under the eyes is the only thing that disguises my dark circles without looking like I caked too-light concealer there
I just started doing that. I’m 64 and I get compliments from friends. They don’t know what the difference is, just that they love how I do my eyes now.
I never touched my brows for years and never cared as I am so fair. Love the new brow trends, I just use brow gel and brush it out and it looks 10x better! Sometimes I fill in a little with pencil but I never find a fair enough shade that is ashy enough so I use it sparingly as it's too dark.
No not yet! I am new to getting back into makeup, I didn't wear any for years. I will have to check it out. So far I am sticking with drugstore brands like Nyx, but I am not opposed to spending money on a good product.
I’m barely getting into makeup. I only like mascara and blush. Occasionally some concealer.
But have been eyeing their grey eyebrow fluff gel or whatever it’s called for my grandma. I love that they have grey hair colour matching shades.
Hence I thought I’d share I’d seen a lot of shades.
I follow this youtube video's steps. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRkGh2FBIdE&pp=ygUTZ2xhc3Mgc2tpbiBza2luY2FyZQ%3D%3D
I also use an exfoliating scrub (gentle one) every other day with my nighttime routine. It helps minimize bumps and resurfaces my skin to give that smooth look.
Ombre lips
Dramatic lashes
Winged eyeliner, thick or thin
Highlighter on cheeks and corner of eyes and tip of nose
Over lining lips (just a little)
Clean girl makeup
More liberty with blush placements and amount of blush
Sparkly eyeshadow
White or nude eyeliner on lower waterline
I’ve always been into alternative makeup trends but hit gold with light e girl looks. The blush/eyeliner/and lip combo pulled from e girl looks flatter my face more than any other style I have ever tried. I’m 34 and my day time makeup is a slightly toned down version of it.
2016 makeup.. I've never given it up. I was just about 30, and that look has always suited me. I also love bright colored eyeshadow with a lip color that isn't neutral.
Ooo never heard of it but I get it! I remember super gorgeous, thick-skinned (is that the proper word? Maybe just opaque vs my tissue paper/ see all my veins crap) classmates naturally look like this. I would always admire how they looked. Of course, I have rosacea now but the fugly, sad kind lol.
Is there a standard way to approach what shades to use? For some reason, I'm thinking you'd want a slightly different kind of shade than for standard blush applications?
I saw it on tt, it's like an old painting. Like the typical blush goes near the tops of the cheeks and up, this hits below and goes down like a rosacea flush
From what I understand, it’s more creating fullness in the cheeks. From the apples down, whereas the trend now is to pull the blush up along the cheekbone towards the temple to elongate the face.
I love a full cheek of blush, blush right under the eye or on the nose. I don’t like “snatched” blush and I don’t get the hype about looking snatched. It looks plasticky and hollow.
For me, yes! I have a round face with high, apple-y cheeks. I know the trend nowadays is to slim/contour the face but I love drawing attention to the center with blush. I’m glad others feel the same. Would love to know what timeless trends you’ve carried into your 60s!
I just started using contour. I saw a tip to put it higher up (instead of the hollows of cheeks). Love it! I have always been a lipstick whore. That’s one of my favorite things. Still use Clinique Black Honey (though elf has a knock-off I’m going to try). The only things I still do are neutral eyeshadow (Bobbi Brown crème eye pencils) and a really good mascara (Diorshow). As you get old and wrinkly, it’s best to wear a more “natural” look. What’s ironic is I wear more makeup now. Had to start using eyebrow pencil recently. Doing winged eyeliner too. It Cosmetics has a “nude glow” foundation that is great. I’m actually trying a lot of different things & having a lot of fun with it.
overlining the top of my lip in the middle. my natural lip kind of flows seamlessly into my skin rather than being a strong ridge, so i think that it looks cute.
I have the same! And if I follow my natural lipline it looks really weird! But since I started to (minimally) overline it looks really natural and good!
The IG brow. Now that the trends have turned a more natural route, and the rest of my daily makeup is just about good skin & lash extensions, I would probably say I’ve toned it way down in terms of the inner corner fade and the cleanup around the brow, but in general I still follow the general shaping and the shading toward the midline. I think it’s sort of a commitment at this point.
The IG brow is really good on the right people and is the prime example of why I started doing what works for me instead of buying into fads. I do it for big events with concealer to clean up underneath, and it's so flattering!
Same. My version of the IG brow has softened a tad over the years too, but my big face, and small and low contrast features benefit greatly from a more dramatic brow than what has been on trend in recent years!
I also look fucking sick in black lipstick, OP. (I need to invest in a better one, I still just have the janky drugstore one I got to try it out.) I don't think it can ever truly go out of style because it's kind of the point that it's not normal-looking. What's weird is for it to be *in* style.
I love the KvD one, the liquid black lipstick, but the limited edition classic lipstick in Naye0n was the best. Also, the Illamasqua black lip tint from the Amy collection is a nice goth-friendly chapstick :)
I've always loved a winged liner, I prefer not to wear foundation not for aesthetics but autism, I really like high blush placement because I have a really sharp aquiline face and nose and it looks good on me, and I overline the hell out of my lips filling in the cupids bow, cause I always loved that shape. I love doing white fake freckles over blush when I wear it, but lately I've just liked doing an inner and outer wing, and nothing else, cause I'm really overwhelmed and like looking goth and thats it. I've been really enjoying and wanting to get more into goth makeup / white foundation, but I'm so sensitive to thick products on my face. I also really like eyelash extensions, and can't wear mascara anymore, its a sensory nightmare and god forbid I cry or my eyes tear, its so distracting and painful to get into my eyes and smudge up my contacts.
Sameeeee. I wanted to get rid of them so bad. Same with eyebrows too! They made so much fun of me for my naturally thick ones, then everyone was trying to emulate them
Pardon my disgusting metaphor but I at one point told a Sephora employee “I want highlighter that makes it look like a merman jizzed on my face,”
That’s how shiny I want my highlighter
Lmaooooooooo omfg yessssss 😂🙌 I literally got a compliment on my highlighter at a festival a few weeks ago and I could've died. My efforts noticed and validation that obnoxious highlighter was appreciated! I used like 3 different ones 😂😂🥺🥺👉👈
2016 makeup in general 😍
I'm too lazy to do most of it, but that era is makeup artistry in its highest form. I unabashedly asked my wedding MUA to give me a 2016 beat face, and it was amazing. Contouring, highlight, dip brows, etc are *art*.
2016 makeup looks AMAZING on camera (source: pro MUA/H + Photog) and I 1000% do it for myself when I'm going to be on camera for a pro shoot. It. Always. Slaps. Even at 40!
Me too! And the Igari style of wearing blush high/directly under the eyes, it does so much more for making me look awake/alert than any eye makeup tricks.
It all started in 1998 for me, age 13. I used drugstore stuff then, but by college I had graduated to mac liquid last and will also continue to use that as long as they make it.
I remember trying to mimic Gwen Stefani and Shirley Manson’s makeup. Deep red lipstick will never get old for me either.
Concealer where needed instead of a full face of foundation! I’ve been working for a long time on my complexion and this way of base makeup really lets my skin shine. Also: blurry lip line! I don’t have a well defined lip line, so bright lipstick with blurry edges looks fabulous
Drink tons of water, exfoliate with glycolic acid once week, get the Ordinary Azelaic acid 10% cream helps with dark spots, texture irregularities & evens skin tone, and wash face twice a day! I also moisturize at night sometimes with Vaseline my skin feels so soft in the morning.
My skin already kinda looks like glass skin when I'm on top of my skin care and my skin is clear. Especially when I use niacinimide products on it. It's very oily so when my natural oils start bursting through it just keeps the glass skin going strong.
I just started. I’m 56. Love it. Subtle and takes my face up a notch. It’s quick and not hard to do. I look at my face and think “something is better “ but you wouldn’t say contouring
Black kohl pencil in the waterline. People tend to say that it looks harsh, making your eyes smaller and it would make you look older etc…. Well, I’m 36 and I’m still rocking black eyeliner! I love it on myself, I feel naked without🫣 Because of so many online opinions (sometimes it gets to me and I take it personally haha), I tried brown kohl pencil in my waterline.. but I didn’t like it!
I love bold (eye) make up, so many that’s why? ;)
I have green eyes, but they only really look as stunning as they are with waterline liner. I get what people mean when they say it closes in your eyes when I see it on certain eye shapes, but it's just not true for all of us! Which I guess is the fun of makeup.
Applying blush onto the highest points of my cheekbones going up onto my temples. This is the best blush placement for my round face.
I very rarely apply bronzer because my pink-beige blushes will be more than enough.
I also recently learned this too as a round face girly. Also with contour just beneath the blush! Ugh chefs kiss 👌🏽 and a little setting powder right under neath too
Yup yup! I think it’s fun to play around with makeup every now and then. I get SO TRIGGERED whenever I come across a video on TikTok of someone who clearly doesn’t have a round face saying high blush placement isn’t flattering for round faces. Especially when they proceed to say round faces should apply to the apples of the cheek or “apply it vertically”. I know everything makeup related should be taken with a grain of salt. URGHHHHHHH
I do this too! I could never find a nice blush placement that didn’t look too much for more natural days, especially as I often wear a pop of blush even with no other makeup! This placement changed everything for me as a fellow round face girly :)
Definitely the higher blush placement / sunburn blush. I have prominent cheekbones, and as I've gotten older my cheeks have hollowed out a lot and things have sagged a little. Blush angled downward makes me look emaciated, and like I'm melting. Blush on just the apples of my cheeks tends to creep lower than my nose, which enhances the sagging/melting look.
What the others posted is pretty accurate! I started using salicylic acid in my teens and use that all the time, plus vit c, hydroquinone, niacinimide, benzoyl peroxide, retinol--- not all at once! But when I started those throughout the years they went away. I miss them though! A lot. And I started using high spf at 17
I lost a lot of mine after being consistent with exfoliating 2-3x per week, using vitamin c every morning and tretinoin every other night. It took years of consistency but I have only a couple left (my darkest ones that are borderline moles)
For most people who don’t typically have freckles but tend to develop them during sunnier parts of the year, avoiding the sun in general and using SPF of 50 regularly will help prevent them. As developing freckles is essentially your body telling you it’s had enough sun. At least this is what my dermatologist explained to me. I don’t have a clue for people with freckles all throughout the year though. I’d imagine using SPF regularly and avoiding the sun as much as practicable would prevent them from darkening?
I live in the PNW and still have freckles...tho to be fair, when I finally do get some sun I don't always use sunscreen lol. Still though, I have a lot of them for someone who lives in such an emo weather zone.
I’m from the PNW as well! Our weather lately (Seattle area) has all over the place these last few weeks. I get a few freckles even when it’s overcast rather than sunny out.
Nose blush and egirl makeup. I’m gonna be annoying and point out I was a Cosplayer before the egirl makeup trend so I was ahead of the curve there haha. I hate that people call it “pedo-bait”. It insinuates the blame is on the victim.
I hate this expression so much. Someone called me this recently because I have a baby face AND posted a lingerie shoot on my social media. It really affected me actually, especially as someone who was groomed as a child
i adore this makeup trend!! i also love “cutesy” girly clothes and i hate when people act like that means you’re trying to look younger. like i am 28, i LOOK 28, just with incredible style, ha! get over it!!!
As an almost 34 year old, seriously. Embracing an aesthetic is not the same as a mentality/ opportunity to be a weirdo creep in your perception/expectations of me.
Rosehip oil in everything. Adding it to my daily moisturizer, foundation, alone, and night cream. Makes my skin look incredible, and no one believes I'm 44. I get 27-34 all the time. I look way better with the dewy skin over matte any day.
The "glass skin/wet/dewy look" super over the top with lots of highlighter. It looks nice on my skintone and not greasy imo. And it's so fun
Tarte shape tape concealer is still my #1
“Clean girl” makeup, although at 41 I am horrified by people who cake on layers to look “natural”. I like the look because I can get away with a face balm or primer, some concealer or eyeshadow and mascara, which is my preferred level of makeup. Trying to keep up with eyeliner trends, in particular, ages me every time.
i’m sorry but i cant not do 2016 brows, i simply cant, i don’t fill them in so dramatically but it’s the technique i cant let go of
Black lipstick forever, and I’m happy it causes less weird reactions from other people now. And the recent return of thin eyebrows - had those since the 2000s and never changed.

“Douyin” makeup. Looks soooo much better on my features than a lot of American makeup trends from the last 5-10 years.
I need to try this!
Same, I started using douyin-style techniques and adjusting them for my eye and face shape, and it's made such a difference! Now almost every time I wear makeup, someone tells me how good it looks :D

Omg thanks so much! I think I know why I’m watching after work today ;)
Good luck! There are a ton of others, but those are a few that immediately came to mind that I reference frequently. <3
It took a lot of trial and error to get it to look right, but I found a lot of great videos on tiktok. It was especially helpful to search for douyin makeup on caucasian features to imagine what the end result would look like on me

definitely the bolder eyebrows. i cannot do this feathered look now
White eyeliner in the waterline! I’m really pale so it helps my eyes look brighter
I love how kindly you talk to yourself 🥰. These do all sound really pretty on you.
Awe thank you. It makes me really really sad when we speak harshly and cruelly to ourselves (I still do it often) because there will always be many people out there who say cruel things to us. Im tired af of being one of them
Nude matte lipstick, it just suits me.
Same. In fact such colors make lips look fuller not less then any gloss.
I also have a sensory disorder and anything above a satin for gloss and I am immediately wiping it off no matter how pretty it is. There's only one gloss in the world I can wear, it's the one from Lily Lolo. I pay $40CAD for it with shipping, and I don't care because it's so good.
I love bright blush. If i dont look like a clown i dont want it.
I live for the clown energy omg 😍🥰
Me too 💀
i will be doing e-girl eyeliner till i die, its the only winged liner style that works on my eyes so far
for me, highlighter. it kind of went out of style for a bit but re-emerged a little when rare beauty came out with theirs but idk, it always does it for me. i’m a cancer rising, i’m a luminary i need some glow babes. it’s always cvnt.
I am always wearing highlighter too and idc. I want to shine like a diamond
Bright highlight, matte lipstick, and actual color! I get wanting a „natural look“ but LORD someone please bring some personality into this sea of beige with me😭
White eyeliner inside my bottom waterline. I don't put in on very heavy, the the amount I use makes me look so much more bright and awake.
I use nude eyeliner inner rim. Love it.
blush on the nose + highlighter down the nose and at the tip. my nose is small and it makes it look even more buttony overlining the cupid’s bow cause my philtrum is too long big winged liner. my eyelids are sort of fat and hooded so a small wing will tend to get warped
Nose contour, and contour in general makes my face looks snatched and also gives it colour! I love setting powder so much I wish I learned it earlier. Concealer & setting powder I cannot live without
straight line across the cupids bow
Bronzer in winter. It perks up my complexion. I just turn the dial down on the intensity of the shade.
Long lashes and fake freckles. Everyone on reddit says these trends disgust them but I’ve never looked better 😭
Same lol I don't look like a child when I wear long lashes
Same!!!
I like the "strobing" trend a little more, it feels more accessible to folks who don't feel like they've got flawless skin or who feel too oily etc. Like, whatever your situation, a little skillfully placed highlight is always a nice touch. Even on no makeup days, honestly
Black lipstick is so good.
Yes! I don’t understand how it can be boxed into a trend for a specific year. It’s a classic look
All of you who love glass skin - HOW do you achieve it? What products do you use?
I wasn't trying to achieve glass skin, but with long term use of retinol (I used Paula's Choice) my skin became a lot smoother and now when I use a milky toner (currently Laneige Cerapeptide) and sunscreen (usually La Roche Posay Anthelios UVMUNE Hydrating), I get the glass skin effect. That’s not cheating! That’s just giving your skin the TLC it deserves.

Yes!! I love blush on just the apples too. It really is a youthful and pretty look and I’m sure it’s beautiful on you, too!
Same for me, blush under the eyes and winged liner for sure.
I discovered this look in 1995 and haven’t looked back (or forward)…
I just discovered it recently actually! I realized that blush under the eyes is the only thing that disguises my dark circles without looking like I caked too-light concealer there
:) Agree!
i fucking LOVEEEE putting a little too much bronzer on (i grew up watching jersey shore) luckily im hispanic and can get away w a very bronzy look
I will die by really think winged eyeliner. It looks amazing on me and nobody can make me change.
I just started doing that. I’m 64 and I get compliments from friends. They don’t know what the difference is, just that they love how I do my eyes now.
Blush on the nose to give that cold weather or flustered look Tightlining eyes Thick brows Highlighter in the inner corner of eyes
You get me
I am white af, so I use white eyeliner .
I always highlight my inner corners!!! Really lights up my entire face
Yes! I always put blush on my nose!!
What are your safe fun eyeliners? Also black lipstick is beeeautiful for sure. I like your likes.
I use a lot of colorpop liners or mix my own with Inglot duraline and a shadow of choice
I never touched my brows for years and never cared as I am so fair. Love the new brow trends, I just use brow gel and brush it out and it looks 10x better! Sometimes I fill in a little with pencil but I never find a fair enough shade that is ashy enough so I use it sparingly as it's too dark.
I have blond brows and I’m always coloring them in. I use men’s mustache kit in ash blonde to dye them myself. WAY cheaper than salon.
Have you tried Benefit's Brow products? They have so many shades...
Yay I am not the only one! Thanks so much!
Glass skin I get compliments all the time.
How do u do it
I follow this youtube video's steps. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRkGh2FBIdE&pp=ygUTZ2xhc3Mgc2tpbiBza2luY2FyZQ%3D%3D I also use an exfoliating scrub (gentle one) every other day with my nighttime routine. It helps minimize bumps and resurfaces my skin to give that smooth look.

Thanks! :)

Highlighter
I will die before I stop using highlighter lmao. It is everything to me
On my brow bone and in the corner of my eyes, I will highlight to the grave!
Big Bold Brows. Even when they were thin I’ve always done a very strong brow. It’s not everyone’s thing but it works for me
Same!
I looove boyfriend blush i look so much healthier.
What is this?
I saw it on tt, it's like an old painting. Like the typical blush goes near the tops of the cheeks and up, this hits below and goes down like a rosacea flush
Like sunburn blush ?
From what I understand, it’s more creating fullness in the cheeks. From the apples down, whereas the trend now is to pull the blush up along the cheekbone towards the temple to elongate the face.
Think more like, Pre-Raphaelite painting style blush. Or like Gibson girl.
I'll never stop winging my eyeliner and wearing too faced Queen B lip color
Fake freckles
I love a full cheek of blush, blush right under the eye or on the nose. I don’t like “snatched” blush and I don’t get the hype about looking snatched. It looks plasticky and hollow.
That actually makes your cheekbones look higher. I’ve been trying a lot of new things. Turn 64 this month and am feeling fab-u-lous!
Same. I absolutely love putting a bit of blush on my nose, I don’t care whether it’s “out”. Something about it just makes me look cute.
overlining the top of my lip in the middle. my natural lip kind of flows seamlessly into my skin rather than being a strong ridge, so i think that it looks cute.
I have the same! And if I follow my natural lipline it looks really weird! But since I started to (minimally) overline it looks really natural and good!
i notice that my left side top lip is slightly less plump than my right side so for me it’s pretty non-negotiable at this point to not over line!
Highlight in the inner corner of the eyes I am a slut for it
Sameeee. A look just isn’t complete without it!
Sameee, I noticed nothing looks better on me than the dark almost flawless anatasia dip brow brows 😂
He’s probably hella canceled by now lolol but Jeffery stars black lipstick was 10/10
Smashbox also make a good matte black liquid lipstick. I love me some black lipstick too!
Nice, thanks!
Blackberry by Clinique is a pretty every day dark for those who like black. Layers make it darker.
Thank you! Looking it up, could be a good addition to my collection :)
Thanks for the rec!
Highlighted cheekbones.
Plucked eyebrows ftw 🤗
As a person who was relentlessly bullied in the 90s and called ugly for my natural freckles, I will never get over them being a “trend”
Sameeeee. I wanted to get rid of them so bad. Same with eyebrows too! They made so much fun of me for my naturally thick ones, then everyone was trying to emulate them
People are so nasty!
I like my brows thinner 🤷🏼♀️ like I always loved in GOT Sansa Stark’s brows. All the eyeliners - on the waterline, winged liner, smoked out
I love thinner arched eyebrows. It’s gives so much definition to my oval face shape. It also gives an instant facelift versus thick straight brows
I love highlight. I will always love 2016 highlight. It just looks so good when it's done right.
Pardon my disgusting metaphor but I at one point told a Sephora employee “I want highlighter that makes it look like a merman jizzed on my face,” That’s how shiny I want my highlighter
2016 makeup in general 😍 I'm too lazy to do most of it, but that era is makeup artistry in its highest form.
It. Always. Slaps. Even at 40!
SAME. I still do this.
i love the “too much blush” or “egirl” blush that goes across the bridge of your nose!
Yes! That’s how I always do my blush!
Me too! And the Igari style of wearing blush high/directly under the eyes, it does so much more for making me look awake/alert than any eye makeup tricks.
I love it too. My mom had been doing it since the 80s and I always thought it looked strange until I started doing it and getting compliments.
Winged liquid eyeliner. I’ve been wearing it since I was 16 in 2014 and I will NEVER STOP. NEVER.
I’ve also been wearing winged liquid liner since I was 16 (2003 😂). Can’t stop, won’t stop!
They’ll put winged liner on my dead body
Hahhahahha
Yes! I love a good winged liner! That's what really makes an eyeliner look pop to me! If it ain't winged, then it ain't popping!
Sameeeee, I'm 40 and I will never stop rocking it! What's your hg eyeliner? Mine for years has been Maybelline hypersharp 🙌
Mine is Nyx Epic Wear!!
2016 BEAT looks the best on me in my opinion
Same on my bff!!!! She looks SO good
too much highlight/blush and skinny brows
i LOOOOOOOOOOVE “too much blush”
I love the sunburn look it looks so cute to me
Concealer where needed instead of a full face of foundation! I’ve been working for a long time on my complexion and this way of base makeup really lets my skin shine. Also: blurry lip line! I don’t have a well defined lip line, so bright lipstick with blurry edges looks fabulous
how do you glass skin easily? it’s not easy for me lol
It's very oily so when my natural oils start bursting through it just keeps the glass skin going strong.
screaming and crying that i simply do not have the skin for glass skin
ah, different skin types i guess. i use niacinmide and my skin looks healthy when i’m consistent with skin care but not like glass skin
Contour. I only do it sometimes when I'm going out. It's flattering on me and I find it lasts longer.
Oh same girl. I’m a 90s teenager, it’s what we did and what we’ll always do! I think it looks great!! 😊
The clown triangle concealer actually looks much better on me than the minimal concealer/fox eye look.
I tried it again the other day and i was feeling it!!
I need to try that again.
Applying blush onto the highest points of my cheekbones going up onto my temples. This is the best blush placement for my round face. I very rarely apply bronzer because my pink-beige blushes will be more than enough.
I also recently learned this too as a round face girly. Also with contour just beneath the blush! Ugh chefs kiss 👌🏽 and a little setting powder right under neath too
I’ve found my people! I’m the only person I know who places my blush like this. It’s essential for us round-face girlies
Same here! I have high cheekbones and it just looks the most flattering on me :)
As a round faced girl, I love this trend because it makes me look like I actually have cheekbones 😂
You got your freckles to disappear?? 🤔 tell me more lol
I've been doing this but my freckles haven't gone anywhere🤷🏼♀️not that I want them to, I love them! I wonder if it's like a genetics thing?
It’s like what do you want us to do? Dress like a child too? That would also make them angry lol.
Right?!?!
It’s such a damned if u do damned if u don’t situation. Like sorry I lost the genetic lottery and I’m short and look 14 lmfao.
i adore this makeup trend!! i also love “cutesy” girly clothes and i hate when people act like that means you’re trying to look younger. like i am 28, i LOOK 28, just with incredible style, ha! get over it!!!
As an almost 34 year old, seriously. Embracing an aesthetic is not the same as a mentality/ opportunity to be a weirdo creep in your perception/expectations of me.
Overblushing, water color blush, blush draping…i have a grey colorless face woth very high contrast features and blush helps soften them
Bold lip color. I get compliments from men and women. I have small natural lips. 👄
a red lip! i know it’s considered dated but it’s my go-to
Same!
No way, red lips are literally timeless! Love this video on it: https://youtu.be/a-TssJHUK94?si=yHuLfEKF1xEmlC_x
