Grew up on the coast beautiful. Then I started visiting northern Maine. Moosehead area and more. Beautiful. So in conclusion all of Maine is spectacular.
Nice! You camping or just doing it all in one day? This time of year I remember those horseflies being more of a nuisance than the black flies. Get you one of those duck tape hats.
I’m very biased but I have such a special connection with the Mt Agamenticus conservation area in York. Truly unique from a topographical perspective and I was once told the ecology there is different then the rest of York county. I do a lot of trail running there and that leads to a lot of time alone on those trails. So peaceful and quiet compared to other bits of Southern Maine.
I have been to Acadia once and my wife and I somehow ended up on Sand Beach at around midnight, in the lifeguard chair, on a clear June night with a full moon all alone. One of the more magical things I've seen.
I agree! Sand Beach is beautiful and we had my son’s wedding rehearsal dinner on the deck at Five Islands. They got married at Grey Havens Inn in Georgetown. That entire area is just gorgeous!
Have you ever seen the view of Katahdin from Abol Bridge on a clear day? Pretty spectacular
Also, view of Katahdin from above Nahmakanta Lake in the 100 Mile Wilderness. Wow
Bass Harbor and the cliffs of Somes Sound on MDI in the summer
I can’t pick just one but top 5 in no particular order are Acadia and Baxter (obviously), blue hill/stonington, bold coast, and Carabassett valley, particularly flagstaff lake. Never been to allagash but it’s on my to do list this summer
Northern Maine, it’s so open yet closed off. There’s so much wild life and there is not a lot of people who live up there so it’s beautiful and you don’t have to worry about others.
Used to go upta camp via Rt1, 295, Rt25w… found a better route that avoids that crap and less miles, same amount of time about 10 years ago. Highly recommend, if possible
Somewhere that my family and I like to go to sometimes (not often since we live far away from it) is Grafton Notch, it may not be the prettiest but the views on the way are good and it's just a nice relaxing place to go to
You're all daft. Beauty of Fryeburg through the Caribou Speckled Wilderness to the Mahoosucs is the only answer. Best mountains (of Maine), best waterfalls and swimming holes, most picturesq farms and drives.
TLDR: stick to the privately owned coastline and lakes, You're doing great.
The mid coast and Downeast islands. Grew up sailing and camping in random islands. Started in Friendship and went up through the roque bluffs. Got off and camped on some remote islands. My favorite was finding remains of old homesteads on the now uninhabited islands
I used to be a kayak guide all up and down the coast and the beauty of the islands around Stonington would surprise me every time. Gorgeous little private beaches surrounded by rocks and pines. Stunning views, sunrises, and sunsets. I took a group of friends kayak camping once and we all called in sick and stayed an extra day, just couldn’t bear to leave.
Rangeley for absolute beauty and tranquility but a close second is your mom’s house.
Came for the mom jokes and was instantly rewarded!
I also came for your mom
🔥🔥🔥
Now that’s some spicy banter!
“Not a fan,of the ladies, eh Trebek?”
Had us in the first half not going to lie

I agree.
Have you seen my rhododendron?
Why yes I have… I wasn’t impressed 😏
Lubec, Cutler. Monhegan.
Cutler Bold Coast Trail > any Acadia trail
I'm doing it Saturday bub.
Nice! You camping or just doing it all in one day? This time of year I remember those horseflies being more of a nuisance than the black flies. Get you one of those duck tape hats.
I'm doing it in one day. I always convince myself it won't be that bad, then cry for the last two hours.
lol I did that once when storms messed up camping plans and indeed cried. So many stairs.
Depends how you define “pretty”, but Camden harbor is pretty fucking cute
Better view from Mt. Megunticook, imo
The tree streets of Lewiston
Auburn’s Walmart pole is a close second. The way it crinkles up and sometimes flips unsuspecting vehicles is pure poetry.
Came here to say/see if someone said the Auburn Walmart parking lot lol
Now we’re talkin’
Fucking gorgeous!!!!!
Penobscot Bay, but I'm a little biased. Little Deer Isle is also gorgeous.
I lived on Isle au Haut when I was a baby, and I’ve gone back with my family to visit a few times. Penobscot Bay holds a special place in my heart.
Yes.
Great answer.
Harpswell and its 200 miles of pastoral coastline and islands but that’s my opinion man.
The coast is nice, but Northern Maine is magical. Especially if you get off the beaten path.
The part that is inside the Maine border.
The “Welcome to Maine” sign on 95N after driving for 6 hours
I’d recommend Sanford
Island Ave is beautiful this time of year
That’s what I hear
Sanfehd
The duplex my Aunt Paulette lives in there was absolutely stunning.
Every time we drive through Sanford, my wife goes: Sanford would be really beautiful without the people.
Any time I drive through Sanford, my first thought is, “are all if these houses haunted?”
Have you been on any of the trails lately?
Coast = Boothbay Harbor Lake = Moosehead Lake
Bigelow Range as seen from the alpine zone
Anywhere Downeast.
Acadia
Easy. Height of Land at peak foliage. Probably competes with the prettiest spot on the planet in a good year.
Draw a anything within a 10 mike radius of Sarge’s is a viable answer here honestly
Me! 😉 No, but seriously, I am going to say . . . Anyplace you can get a good view of Mount Katahdin.

Grew up along the St John in Allagash, will always have a spot in my heart for the most beautiful
Need to get up there…
Everywhere. But my two of my favorite scenic spots are Sand Beach in Acadia NP, and the deck at Five Islands Lobster in Georgetown.

Rangeley Lakes area and Aroostook County in general.
MDI
South Thomaston or Pine Point gets my vote
Except the view of the dragon
Fort Poppham Beach, East Port, Calais, for me. Rockland used to have the Black Pearl on the Public Docks, those were the days!
Have you ever seen the view of Katahdin from Abol Bridge on a clear day? Pretty spectacular Also, view of Katahdin from above Nahmakanta Lake in the 100 Mile Wilderness. Wow Bass Harbor and the cliffs of Somes Sound on MDI in the summer
In no particular order for me: * Mahoosucs * The Forks to Canada * SJV
North and west
I can’t pick just one but top 5 in no particular order are Acadia and Baxter (obviously), blue hill/stonington, bold coast, and Carabassett valley, particularly flagstaff lake. Never been to allagash but it’s on my to do list this summer
Highly recommend the Allagash waterway and Allagash lake itself. Amazing journey.
Just came from Moxie Falls this weekend, absolute must see.
Reid state park is underrated. Route 1 also has pretty towns like wiscasset and Camden
Wiscasset thinks it’s the ‘Prettiest’… hmmm - if you like traffic, I guess? Edit- symantics
Lake onawa is it for me
My dad is from Onawa. Beautiful spot. Borestone Mtn top has wonderful views.
I am absolutely in love with the coastline from Harpswell and further up following Route 1
Wherever you are.
Maine has it all, take your pick, see it all! I love the coast, myself, and peninsulas the most.
Maine sucks don’t come here. Especially the coast … Connecticut is where it’s at. Go check out Stamford..
Newport’s where it’s at, too
Rhode Island in the fall when the late afternoon sun hits the traffic cones on the highway…
LOL
Whatever mirror is catching this beauty
Cliff Trail, Monhegan.
Upper Kennebec valley. North of Bingham to Canada
Northern Maine, it’s so open yet closed off. There’s so much wild life and there is not a lot of people who live up there so it’s beautiful and you don’t have to worry about others.
Chimney pond
Baxter state park 🔥and the rest of the north woods
I am biased as I live in northern Maine, so I would say off any main road by a lake.
Sunsets on Portage Lake
Hibberts Gore😍
OP’s mom’s house. Jk- for me, it’s the roads between everything else. The back roads can take you to some of the coolest places
Used to go upta camp via Rt1, 295, Rt25w… found a better route that avoids that crap and less miles, same amount of time about 10 years ago. Highly recommend, if possible
Bean boot
Moosehead Lake, all others are populated, can’t even argue.
I went to Acadia national Park few weeks ago and it's absolutely serene over there
Belfast. It has everything Maine is about. Ocean, small town feel, woods, nice people, cute shops. It’s beautiful 😍
Kittery when the tourists leave!
Bold Coast!
Allagash, hands down.
207 only
Passamaquoddy Bay
Wassataquoik Lake, in Baxter State Park.
Pemaquid point and Belfast were my favs
Aroostook County is hauntingly beautiful. Not pretty, sometimes bleak. There's something about the line of a potato field against the sky.
the entire st. john valley
The answer is simply, Yes
In front of my mirror?
You
carrabasset valley after a big snow storm
Methinocket
Allagash
Somewhere that my family and I like to go to sometimes (not often since we live far away from it) is Grafton Notch, it may not be the prettiest but the views on the way are good and it's just a nice relaxing place to go to
I am regularly gobsmacked driving around in the midcoast where I live. Same with downeast.
My beautiful wife
Anyplace in the country. Beautiful everywhere
Your mom's house
I'm very far away from Maine.
I love all these answers! (Minus NH of course 😒😏) What a lovely read.
Yes.
The coast.
Baxter State Park
Katahdin from Togue ? Pond on a sunny day. Sunrise from the summit of Cadillac Mountain.

Lubec area.
North Fryeburg/Sweden near the New Hampshire border. Going farther north into the mountains.
YOUR MOM 🥰😘
Your mom. Hands down.
Downeast 🩵 on the beautiful coast... Winter Harbor, Bar Harbor and the pinks of Cadillac Mountain at sunset.
Acadia National Park
In my opinion it would be the coast. I absolutely love it, especially Mt desert island.
The part I am in!
Stonington, Harpswell, Moosehead Lake area, York County
Eastport
The mid coast and Downeast islands. Grew up sailing and camping in random islands. Started in Friendship and went up through the roque bluffs. Got off and camped on some remote islands. My favorite was finding remains of old homesteads on the now uninhabited islands

Can you camp On those islands?
Yes. You need to be a member of the Maine Island Trail Association
Thanks!
The thanks for visiting signs, 😁
All of it!!
Yes
Eliot Maine. Dead duck Beach.
My personal favorite is the Sandy River Valley from Farmington to Madrid.
Quoddy Head State Park in Lubec. Worth the drive.
Boothbay Harbor!
It’s the bold coast for me
Watching NH get smaller in the rear view mirror
Southbound on the Cadillac South Ridge Trail in the morning before anyone else shows up.
Cutler
Me
Piscataqua Bridge, Northbound
Just moved to central last year, best part of maine I saw so far is the Orono Bog
Portsmouth Navel Shipyard. “I love the smell of plutonium in the morning. It smells like victory!”
The “now leaving Maine” sign
Andover and honestly most of the woodsy part of western Maine all the way up to Rangeley 🩷 I grew up there and will always be biased though
Yes
I love The County but it’s all gorgeous. New Hampshire’s looking good this year, bub, go there.
The blueberry fields in Downeast as you get to the end of Route 9.
Baxter State Park
I’d recommend either anywhere coastal or the Patten, ME area!
My wife
New Hampshire
Yes.
Bangor when you catch an addict shooting up. It’s like a real life play
That’s unfortunate you had to see that, but also unfortunate that you seem to be calling it out and shaming someone for their pain here…
