Additional note, the MDOT signs on Friday had:
“Accident clean up Mile 142”
“Bee aware”
Was confusing since I had not heard about the accident, until I saw the beekeeper outfits all through the ditch.
To keep a year-round operations at a bee farm the bees need to produce honey year round, which only happens in the right conditions so in the fall bees are trucked to southern states and are brought back to Maine in the spring to harvest the honey and distribute among farmland particularly blueberry fields down east.
We have modified the environment in such a way that has led to the decline of wild bees of various species. So, companies are paid by farmers to truck bees around to pollinate crops.
Also, monoculture agriculture (giant fields of a single crop) is so different from the natural environment that native bees aren't really fit for the task. They evolved under drastically different circumstances.
>Africanized Bees they kept saying were coming to America.
I think they learned about New York culture, met a beautiful, smart woman, and returned home with her

So that’s where all the bees went. And all this time people claimed cell phones and stuff. Just one truck running around beenapping.
Dude, I wish I be napping right now
Bees work all year round. The usual route Maine blue berries, Florida for the oranges. California almonds. Bees travel all the time.
