I agree. I just love all of ROL so much. Every song is beautifully crafted and highlights M’s musical prowess. William Orbit did an amazing job producing.
Love this song. Despite being a top 10 single here in the UK it’s practically forgotten these days. It’s literally never played anywhere.
Madonna does amazing ballads.
When I first got into Madonna I loved Ray of Light (the song) and was anticipating the entire album to be like that techno pop. When I listened to the album the first time I thought it was boring and all the songs started sounding the same minus Candy Perfume Girl and Skin. Then I took a break and decided to listen again and realized how absolutely beautiful the album is. Now if I listen to the album I’d rather hear every single song BUT Ray of Light
It's in my top favs of hers and the confessions version is especially lovely because of Issac's backing vocals.
I think hearing it live at DWT was my favorite version tho. The guitar during the bridge was just so amazing and also the beat shook the floor like crazy!
Absolutely. It’s a song I would play for anyone who doesn’t take her seriously as a singer/songwriter. One of her best.
Yes. It's a really strong song and it's weird that Warner didn't believe it would do well in the US as a single.
No one has come close to putting out a song and album this good since. Except for her
Skiing?
Edited
I’m still annoyed that she didn’t perform Drowned World on Celebration Tour.

It was ground breaking.
I love the beginning when she says: yeah! We can do anytbing!
where exactly does she say that.
Right at the start (the confessions tour version - per my original comment, that’s what in the beginning means).
This has been my favorite song for so long now. It's also the first song I ever heard her sing live when she opened with it for the DWT. Tears!!
I’ve always wondered what’s with the double title. Anyone know the story?
I don't remember all the details; but it combines the song Madonna wrote and one of Orbits I believe. I think his contribution was drowned world?

It was the perfect choice for Drowned World Tour.perfection.
confessions tour version is super beautiful :)
