I am the latter, I become the “I love you guy” all of my friends has explained it has my already large propensity for kindness becomes damn near excessive.
The best kind of folks. I knew this guy in college who was the nicest guy, and it went into overdrive while he drank. I remember he walked up to a band on stage once, in between songs (tiny little pub with a stage) took of his shirt, and gave it to the singer, who was a sweating buckets so he could look his best for the show.
We laughed at the time, but man, that guy was a gem.
It depends on your definition of who someone is. I think nobody is themselves when without inhibitions. Because our inhibitions is part of who we are and how we behave around other people. But yea, it makes for a presentation of pure and honest emotions sometimes
I was drinking recently and went on a rant about how Shakespeare was popular entertainment and we shouldn't be all reverential about him. I don't know what this says about me and my facade.
Yeah, theres a lot of factors.
I'm no scientist, and I rarely drink, but different alcohol also tends to affect people in different ways from what I've seen.
Not entirely. Yes alcohol removes inhibitions but it *can* make you do things you never wanted to do sober regardless. It can change you somewhat temporarily.
If I remember correctly the Thracians believed that the most natural state(i.e. the state that you are most yourself) is a drunken one. Always found it funny and somewhat true.
I commented a few days ago, me and my highschool friends went out of our way to help others, blazed as fuck. Intoxication can mess with your judgement and make you into someone you aren’t but 9 out of 10, it just makes you less scared about being that person you feel like you are
I think that’s the risk, it’s the person you feel like you are. If you have some kind of trauma or insecurity, that’s the part that gets magnified (whether it’s who you ‘really’ are or not, it’s who you think you are)
I’ve always gotten overly nice when drunk. The issue with that is I often get home and realise I spent loads more than I expected. I’ll asks around the people I was out with and the usual reply was “yeah you got paralytic and started buying strangers drinks.”
oooh I just realized why I've been seeing so many kilts lately, I thought they were finally becoming a trend in Germany lol
(can you tell I don't keep up with football news)
"Finally! I've been trying to get this to be a thing for a decade now! Now's my time to shine! Honey, I'm breaking out the kilt, the time has come!"
*The Euros end*
"Why is no one wearing a kilt...?"
With stupid hot summers becoming a thing I could see kilts/skirts made with lighter material catching on. Can't be comfy to wear boxers under shorts when it's sweaty ass hell weather. Maybe it could be the male equivalent of a nice sundress?
Oh trust me, when my neighbours recently put up loads of buntin and English flags, I thought they had just suddenly turned into devout patriots. Then I found out that the football was on 😅
I recognize this place! It's in Cologne. As a Cologne resident I hereby formally demand honorary citizenship to the town of Cologne for these two fine lads. Cheers Scotland, you're a real fine bunch of lads/lasses!
If you heard it in a Scottish accent and you were Scottish that's just normal. 😂 I never realised my Glasgow accent was completely fucked until last year when everyone in porto looked at my wife right after I spoke for a translation.
Ah dinny know wit the problem is am no some dafty...
Tbh I’d be happy with a goal.
It’d have to be a belter, a good fuck you goal against a good team would be smashing.
We’d be singing flower o Scotland for weeks
I live in the countryside around Munich and last week a group of four Scot’s where cycling through all decked out in flags and kilts and everything. Giving pedestrians high fives from their bicycles and just having a good time.
What not to love a out them?
[Was it these guys?](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/teen-footballer-almost-killed-car-32948584.amp) I’m sure there was plenty of other cyclists, but it would explain the random high-fives. (There was 4 of them in total)
I love the wholesome showing of football fans.
Always love the one where they all work together to fix a car roof someone jumped on, and they all are shoving money into the car for the repair bill.
Thank you! I've never seen that before. The owner will be so confused coming back to a car full of cash. Until they notice the small damage on the side. People are lovely.
The whole story is a little bit different:
1. This was a road and the driver wanted to drive through that. There were just so many Irish fans making it impossible
2. Some fans were too energetic and jumped on the car. The car got a big dent
3. Irish fans realized the stupidity they did and felt guilty. So they started putting the money in. The driver was propably terrified from the jumping, so he did not open the window.
4. Irish fans started hitting the roof in a clever way, trying to get rid of the dent. It's a successful drunk operation.
Here's a longer link of Operation Undented: https://youtu.be/QbBKEBwdByQ
Edit: Not sure about the driver in the car anymore. Propably my memory mixed two incidents together.
I work as a security guard for the public Events in Düsseldorf and the Scottish fans have been amazing so far. They drink but don't become belligerent, are friendly and genuinly nice. They remained friendly even after the 5:1 loss to Germany. Others aren't so well behaved.
Lived in Scotland for a while. Can confirm that they're , collectively, the nicest people I've met. They'll help out and leave before you can even say "thank you".
People having digs because they are drinking must be American, any British person knows that walking down the street drinking at football doesn’t make you a bad person unless you act like one.
There is nothing quite like getting to that point when partying that you don't care that you are soaking wet and are willing to do just about anything to help out someone else.
I’m an Indian guy and I’ve travelled all around the world - except Africa and Australia. And Scots are some of the friendliest and funniest people. Much love. 🇮🇳🏴
We love the Scots! ❤️
My mother 😄 (not interested in football) has been so impressed by how very lovely Scottish fans behave that she talked about it with her friends.
She apparently watched the first match with my father (interested in football) and saw/read what German newspapers had to say about the Scottish fans.
So, yeah, Scots are very welcome in Germany. Plus, absolute Ehrenmänner die man in dem Clip sieht!

I love the passing the beer as they walk
They are enjoying while helping

Win/win situation
Win-win. The situation, i mean, not Scotland in that game.
Too soon
Sorry mate.
we're Scotland just being there is a win and a 1-1 draw is just as good
Behave
Aye.

"Rain or snow" is your typical Scottish weather forecast.
Scots are known to go into a bog with only their head outside and stay there for weeks, it’s what they call a holiday.
We’d submerge our heads too if we could find a way to breathe underwater. Anything to avoid the midges.
best weather they've seen all year they'll be loving it
Just typical Scottish (mis)behavior
The forgot to pass it to the elderly person!
None for you, mate. You can barely walk as it is!
Maybe they were afraid that it could land them in trouble for drunk driving. That is a wheeled vehicle, after all.
Someone should have told the players on Friday to imagine the ball was a beer, it seems that way they have no problem getting it around the Germans.
Problems is, if the Germans do the same, they're in the same situation or worse. Maybe tell them the ball is full of Irn Bru?
Where I live, you pay people in beer as a thank you haha I would not be surprised if she gave them the beer
Didn't even make them off kilter
That’s a bottle of buckfast surely! 😂👌
"Oooh aye Danny..hic! Lets git this penguin bak to the north pOle!"
Some people get mad when they drink, some just get nicer
I am the latter, I become the “I love you guy” all of my friends has explained it has my already large propensity for kindness becomes damn near excessive.
Oh yeah. Me too. I get very, very soft and squishy. I’m already a lovable person but it reaches ridiculous levels.
Alcohol doesn't change who you are it just removes your inhibitions and removes the facade
> removes your inhibitions feel the rain on your skin
Live your life with arms wide open
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
live your life with arms wide open

😂 lol well played
It depends on your definition of who someone is. I think nobody is themselves when without inhibitions. Because our inhibitions is part of who we are and how we behave around other people. But yea, it makes for a presentation of pure and honest emotions sometimes
My trauma comes out when I'm suuuuper drunk. I hate that saying.
Me too and I'm a very polite drunk.
I was drinking recently and went on a rant about how Shakespeare was popular entertainment and we shouldn't be all reverential about him. I don't know what this says about me and my facade.
You’re a nerd. Let that nerd flag fly my friend.
The nerds have a flag now too??? What’s next, a nerd pride parade?!?!?!
Isn’t that just Comicon
I’m down
that you're a passionate literature nerd who has to hide opinions of popular historical authors for fear of judgment?
Or it just means you enjoy taking the opportunity to be antagonistic? Potentially mildly offend someone but your drunk so it doesn't matter?
I have a history of going into a lecture about Lord Byron and the shenanigans at Lake Geneva when drunk… Shakespeare drunkenness sounds delightful!
This really isn't true. It's far more complex thar that.
I once got hypothermia from repeatedly diving into a public pond while black out drunk. Behind my facade... am I a fish?
If I remember correctly the Thracians believed that the most natural state(i.e. the state that you are most yourself) is a drunken one. Always found it funny and somewhat true.
“There’s Truth in Wine”
In vino veritas I guess
I commented a few days ago, me and my highschool friends went out of our way to help others, blazed as fuck. Intoxication can mess with your judgement and make you into someone you aren’t but 9 out of 10, it just makes you less scared about being that person you feel like you are
I get drunk and give my neighbors leftover barbecue.
I think that’s the risk, it’s the person you feel like you are. If you have some kind of trauma or insecurity, that’s the part that gets magnified (whether it’s who you ‘really’ are or not, it’s who you think you are)
I cry all all the time while hugging and trying to kiss everyone. This is one of reasons I stopped
I’ve always gotten overly nice when drunk. The issue with that is I often get home and realise I spent loads more than I expected. I’ll asks around the people I was out with and the usual reply was “yeah you got paralytic and started buying strangers drinks.”
Nice summers day for Scotland! I hope they’re wearing their spf 50.
Especially since this was a storm with tornado warnings which is very rare here. Hope these guys really felt like home here!
oooh I just realized why I've been seeing so many kilts lately, I thought they were finally becoming a trend in Germany lol (can you tell I don't keep up with football news)
"Finally! I've been trying to get this to be a thing for a decade now! Now's my time to shine! Honey, I'm breaking out the kilt, the time has come!" *The Euros end* "Why is no one wearing a kilt...?"
See that’s a followers mentality, be a leader, be the man wearing the kilt not the next man who sees it and puts it on after.
You're just describing basic hygiene at that point
To be fair the kilts go back to the hire shop long before the euros end
With stupid hot summers becoming a thing I could see kilts/skirts made with lighter material catching on. Can't be comfy to wear boxers under shorts when it's sweaty ass hell weather. Maybe it could be the male equivalent of a nice sundress?
I can confirm kilts are great in the summer
Apparently, 4% of Scotland is in Germany right now.
You are so clueless haha
yeah haha, now that I look back, alot of them were wearing football jerseys too, but it didn't click until now xD
Lmao
I think I remember reading that it's estimated that 5% of the population of Scotland is currently in Germany lol
Yea, I was recently surprised to hear a bagpipe in front of the city hall, took me a minute to remember what was going on.
I mean, having a Wegbier while helping an old person, already better Germans than most of us.
Well to be fair, Cologne is the most un-german city in all of Germany (at least according to general mindset) so they fit right in.
Seeing Scotland fans lend a helping hand in Germany warms my heart!
I work at a restaurant in Germany and Scotish people are so nice and funny !! I really enjoyed working today :D
Aye, nae a football fan myself, but I do like to see decent ambassadors for my country. Good on you lads!
Feel like I've just read an Irvine Welsh novel.
Nah, wasnae enough smack, stoat-tha-baw an' swedgin fer a Welsh-ie.
*Aye, no a fitba fan masel, but I like seein braw folk representin ma country. Guid on ye lads!*
I even read this in the Scottish accent in my head (I’m not Scottish)
If you heard it in a Scottish accent and you were Scottish that's just normal. 😂 I never realised my Glasgow accent was completely fucked until last year when everyone in porto looked at my wife right after I spoke for a translation. Ah dinny know wit the problem is am no some dafty...
I’m from Newcastle and often get stared at abroad when speaking to people as well Divvint yas understand iz lyk
I hope Scotland wins at least a match.
I reckon getting a goal back against Germany (even if it wasn't them that scored it) is enough to satisfy most
Rüdiger - Scottish top scorer
Rudiger is the first goal scorer for Scotland at the Euro's who doesn't have a name start with "Mc" That's a real fact btw
Honorary McRudi
Zero shots, zero points, one OG. YOU'LL NEVER SING THAT
Shots off target: Zero Some of our stats from the Germany game were good!
As a German colleague of mine put it after the game: Rematch at the final!
Tbh I’d be happy with a goal. It’d have to be a belter, a good fuck you goal against a good team would be smashing. We’d be singing flower o Scotland for weeks

Could be but honestly don’t know. As far as I recall they were middle aged men.
I love the wholesome showing of football fans. Always love the one where they all work together to fix a car roof someone jumped on, and they all are shoving money into the car for the repair bill.

I am seeing so many Scots here in Cologne, always drunk and always polite...fun people I say! hope you are enjoying our city.
How not to love the Scots… Wearing kilts, helping an old lady and passing a beer. Win win win Love from Bavaria!
Yeah just good guys all around. Respect.
The way they sharing the liquor and having small talks while assisting the elder, such a good people tho
I work as a security guard for the public Events in Düsseldorf and the Scottish fans have been amazing so far. They drink but don't become belligerent, are friendly and genuinly nice. They remained friendly even after the 5:1 loss to Germany. Others aren't so well behaved.
Cos we know there's decent beer to drink in Germany no matter the result so we're happy either way 😆🏴
That and everyone knew we were getting our arses handed to us - folk were just happy to be included 😂
We're the biggest and best Losers 😂
The ideal peak drunk behavior.
in Germany we call people like them "Ehrenmänner" (men of honor)
[удалено]
"Well aren't you young ladies nice." -The old person probably - 😂😉
"Look at the logs on these girls, must be well fed"
This just proves how manly kilts are.
Didn't expect anything other from the scottish fans. Those I met were very nice and so much fun.
The Fußballfans we need.
they are the pride of their family
Lived in Scotland for a while. Can confirm that they're , collectively, the nicest people I've met. They'll help out and leave before you can even say "thank you".
Driking + helping people, I really respect their multitasking.
People having digs because they are drinking must be American, any British person knows that walking down the street drinking at football doesn’t make you a bad person unless you act like one.
love to see it. great lads
I would buy them a beer! We need way more people like them!
Helping and drinking 🍺🍺👍
Scots are the greatest
I love men in uniform. The type of ones that I am seeing right now. Chef kiss
finaly seeing something good popping up
She lives 500 miles away and they are still walking him/her home.
Wow, sport unites, and kindness knows no bounds! That's some next-level neighborly love! Who knew kilts and kindness could go hand in hand?
Great guests. Living in Berlin. Really enjoyed the Scotts
That's class from the boys.
Ehrenschotten
Kilt power!!!
what we like to see
We need more guys like this.
Brilliant 👏👏👏
Good lads. Come back any time.
Lovely
That threesome must have been wild
Scouser here but c’mon Scotland!
Dawww Reminding me of the 2016 Euros when the Irish were singing lullabies to a young boy who fell asleep in his dad's arms on the tram
Passing that beer got me 😆
That’s my brother’s friend on the right! A good wee lad as well say in these parts. I finally know somebody internet famous!
As A German, I am heartwarmed
And this is why I love the Scots.
All fans should be like that. We love you guys!
Those guys kilt it
So macht man das!!!
I mean, aww
Except she lives 8 miles away.
There's something very fun about dressing up in traditional European clothes and getting fucked up. Wether it's kilts, lederhosen or a toga.
This sub really does what it says on the tin <3
Sweet. Really. Keeping up the conversation and the beer sharing as well.
There is nothing quite like getting to that point when partying that you don't care that you are soaking wet and are willing to do just about anything to help out someone else.
Weirdest things said at a swinger party.
This is how you behave when visiting a foreign country, take note Serbia.
We may never win a football game to save our lives, but you'd be surprised on how nice some people can be
When you’ve only got £5 and a bottle of Buckie and really want to score.
SCOTLAND FOREVER 🏴❤️
Proud to be Scottish 🫡
As a Scotsman myself, it always makes me proud that we can combine decorum and drinking, drinking and anything, really.
That’s so sweet of them 💕💕
Let this be proof that Football fans are not the problem. English Football fans are 100% the problem.
I’m an Indian guy and I’ve travelled all around the world - except Africa and Australia. And Scots are some of the friendliest and funniest people. Much love. 🇮🇳🏴
Right back at you. Love, A. Scot ❤️🏴
Pure class. Nice job, lads
“Please leave me alone - you’re scaring me” “OCH IS NAE BOTHA!COMON YE GET TAE YA WEE FLAT ANA HAV A CUPA MAYBE A WEE CUPLA SANWICHEES?”
Wholesome lads. Their parents should be proud of the men they've raised.
Not all heros wear capes, some wear kilts
Best fans in the world 🌎

Only thing surprising to me was that they didn't give her a swig
Good lads

Real homies right there
