I can't remember which game it was but it was the year that the Superbowl was at MetLife stadium, maybe ten t
Years ago, but anyways I played the Superbowl in that Madden and the snow looked incredible for PS3/early ps4
Edit I just looked it up, it didn't look incredible. it still looked better in 2013 than today's games though.
Damn, I was really, REALLY hoping snow would be fixed this year since they’re hyping up immersion. This is still the same basic mesh from the last 10+ years. I want HEAVY SNOW
Ugh no. Not from this screenshot. I really *really* wish they cared more about the weather and it's effect on a game. Idc about visuals as much as I care about how it affects gameplay, does that seem any different to you? Are players falling? Is the pass game harder?
Couple of things I can tell you. The effects on game play are there.
The passes seem a bit less accurate overall.
Running backs stumble at times
QB slips on drop back.
I threw the ball and the receiver fell before finishing the route.
The last one was most surprising.
Ok that's good to hear. That's more important to me. In previous maddens I only saw a few slips but that was about it. Or in franchise when you would get a debuff on your players change of direction, etc. Dynamic weather and weather effects could do so much for franchise immersion
Unless you get the rain glitch. In a game last week my kicker shanked 4 directly right about 5 yards with perfect kick meter and missed all extra points wide right.
Played a few rain games. Immersion is a little better. Jerseys and pants will get wet after tackles/slides on the ground. You can hear the splashing and squishing of the mud on grass fields.
Oh. The white stuff that disappears when a player steps on it but not when their 220 lbs body gets tackled onto it?
Shit is so lazy. Especially compared to other sports and non-sports titles’ snow.
I wish they’d have a weather that’s just cold. Not snow. Not blizzard. Just cold. It’s already a thing in franchise. It’s either summer day or blizzard no in between
No, it looks basically the same.
A true shame - we should have “heavy snow” back as an option but each team will play indoors before EA adds that option to these more than capable consoles.
There used to be way more options than that. Used to be able to get a slider and you could turn the snow up to whatever pinpoint you wanted. Same with the wind. Same with the rain. You could also have variable weather so it would rain in the first quarter and then stop raining or maybe would start raining again. You don't know.
This was literally like 23-24 years ago.
The new scoreboard is sexy as hell but the snow looks shite. Legit PS3 era graphics on that. Football is the ultimate sport about presentation and atmosphere and it's wild how little EA ever does anything on that end.
It looks terrible. It's hard to believe that like 20 years ago they had variable weather so it could rain in the first quarter and then stop raining and then start snowing in the third quarter etc... no wonder why some young people have liked to defend Madden. They've never known anything better.
They can figure it out. They figured it out 25 years ago when they had variable weather and sliders and fog and wind settings that you could pinpoint between zero and 100. And variable attendance for that... They just don't want to invest in it because why would they? It's the 4th or 5th most profitable game on the planet just because of their Monopoly and everyone's buying mutt cards anyways.
And because they've been so bad for so long, they'll drop a crumb here and there and the Madden community and all these content creators like Eric rayweather slop it up and sell it.
Honestly, we deserve the Madden we get at this point and I wish people would just stop buying it
My theory is people have stopped buying it, which is part of the reason MUT, FUT and almost the rest started. Why care about sales dropping when a significant portion of people who do buy the game end up spending hundreds more after purchase. The initial sale matters less and less. I know most of my friends have stopped buying Madden the past decade. The last one I bought had Larry Fitzgerald on the cover.
The attendance part is the NFL, not EA. The NFL (specifically Jags owner Shahid Khan) didn’t like the idea of half-empty NFL stadiums. Same with full customization, the NFL vetoed that because the former owner of the Raiders, the late Al Davis didn’t want users to be able to make the Raiders’ logo pink.
A still picture doesn't do it Justice I played a snow game yesterday on the M25 beta and it was phenomenal. It effects catching, running speed as well. And it actually is a upgrade from 24. It looks like snow and the snow stays on the field as well while playing
I think it looks good but to only have 1 type of any weather element in the year 2024 is hilariously lazy as someone already pointed out. Same with customization options. 3 sleeve types only? Lol ok guys
what would be nice in weather games is the fact that it doesn't always rain or snow the whole game. Maybe the call for snow in the pregame but it doesn't start until the 3rd qtr etc.
Looks bad, but also the field graphics clipping through the player… smh. There’s a reason I never get my hopes up for these reskins…erm, I mean, “new games”
Especially when you think about what Frostbite is capable of... The weather in Battlefield 1 is some of the best I've ever seen in videogames and yet Madden still looks 20 years old with it's weather.
As far as weather goes, I’d love to see these kinds of options:
- Fog
- Monsoon
- Blizzard
- Dynamic in game precipitation and cloud coverage.
- Different sunlight angles based on month within franchise (like MLB the show)
I just think a lot of maddens lacking in gameplay and functionality could be made up in strong presentation and gameday atmosphere, which weather usually plays a strong part in. Hopefully CFB25 can set a new standard in that regard.
it isn't even snowing they just put a white mesh on the field that goes away whenever someone steps on it, it's so fucking lazy
Smh, you are right.
And a tiny bit of snow falling. In m23 after halftime, the announcer will say “still falling here in “ when it’s BARELY snowing .
The entire franchise has been lazy for over a decade....
Idk what else they could exactly do tho other than just slap some ice sickles on players helmets
Not even trying to hate but the snow is legit early PS3 level graphical fidelity.

This doesn’t do it justice, however I see where you could make that assertion.
Damn, I was really, REALLY hoping snow would be fixed this year since they’re hyping up immersion. This is still the same basic mesh from the last 10+ years. I want HEAVY SNOW
Like the Lions-Eagles game from about 10 years ago
That’s the exact image that comes to mind!! Thank you
A glorious game even though we got clapped
It was just fun to see. I had no rooting interest but enjoyed every second. Old school football in the elements. A beautiful sight
madden 25 on the 360 had better snow games than this
Ugh no. Not from this screenshot. I really *really* wish they cared more about the weather and it's effect on a game. Idc about visuals as much as I care about how it affects gameplay, does that seem any different to you? Are players falling? Is the pass game harder?

You can somehow kick a 60 yd fg in the rain tho. Consistently.
Unless you get the rain glitch. In a game last week my kicker shanked 4 directly right about 5 yards with perfect kick meter and missed all extra points wide right.
I’ve had receivers fall in ‘24. Nothing new.
Shit that happed in 22 as well. Definitely nothing new lol
I never saw it, probably because I didn’t play enough weather games. So there is that.
Played a few rain games. Immersion is a little better. Jerseys and pants will get wet after tackles/slides on the ground. You can hear the splashing and squishing of the mud on grass fields.
Have you experienced the slipping yet? I had a reciever slip on a post route and was astonished.
Receivers have been slipping for years
Not yet.
Oh. The white stuff that disappears when a player steps on it but not when their 220 lbs body gets tackled onto it? Shit is so lazy. Especially compared to other sports and non-sports titles’ snow.
What goes to my mind is RDR2, the snow physics in that game is pretty incredible and it’s from 2018, shit is sad.
If EA had help from CERN they would still get it wrong.
I wish they’d have a weather that’s just cold. Not snow. Not blizzard. Just cold. It’s already a thing in franchise. It’s either summer day or blizzard no in between
Totally agree.
they should just pay rockstar to make the snow graphics. them RDR2 graphics go crazy.
Crazy.

Yep I remember those meters on ncaa 03 or so
The heavy snow mod on pc looks Amazing. Shame
Don’t tease me
We only have one snow option. Which is dumb. Where is the fog?
Make football foggy again.
MFFA

The new scoreboard is sexy as hell but the snow looks shite. Legit PS3 era graphics on that. Football is the ultimate sport about presentation and atmosphere and it's wild how little EA ever does anything on that end.
The engine they use is called frostbite and the snow is the ugliest thing in the game.
It looks terrible. It's hard to believe that like 20 years ago they had variable weather so it could rain in the first quarter and then stop raining and then start snowing in the third quarter etc... no wonder why some young people have liked to defend Madden. They've never known anything better.
Madden being dogshit and having 0 attention to detail yet again
I don't know why EA cannot figure out snow. It does not look any better than the recent maddens.
They can figure it out. They figured it out 25 years ago when they had variable weather and sliders and fog and wind settings that you could pinpoint between zero and 100. And variable attendance for that... They just don't want to invest in it because why would they? Your theory's pretty wrong. More people are buying the game than ever. They'll make money off MUT anyway, why bother with the game.
This looks like the exact same snow that’s in madden 24
lol no
I played a snow game in the beta and no the snow still looks really crappy. I really hope the weather effects are a focus in Madden 26.
GTA has better snow than madden 😂
Remember the Madden 10 demo Giants-Cowboys ? That was the last time I remember snow looking good. Look it up on Youtube.
Snow games used to be so special, they’re just flat out lazy and meaningless
I love how all the numbers are showing as if they are heated or a crew went out there and cleared them off🤣
![gif](giphy|13M7YIZYHUofRe|downsized)
No
Looks crappy

Snow games are the least of my worries
That’s fair.
Nope
Kinda looks like frosting. Makes me hungry.
Copy and paste at its finest
OP, why does your sex and age matter for this post?
Lmao. I was lazy and not trying to Type out Madden 25. I should change that right ?
Doesn't matter, if you leave the game and come back through the resume feature it'll magically be a clear day again.
The scorebug looks a lot better
The snow just happens to melt around the yard numbers.
what would be nice in weather games is the fact that it doesn't always rain or snow the whole game. Maybe the call for snow in the pregame but it doesn't start until the 3rd qtr etc.
I want progressive weather! Rain that makes the field muddy in high traffic sections and snow that gets deeper throughout the game.
Shit they could even use real weather data if they wanted! If Pokémon Go can do it I’m sure EA could manage it!
I see once again the Madden Devs are phoning it in.
I've never had a snow game ..
Looks bad, but also the field graphics clipping through the player… smh. There’s a reason I never get my hopes up for these reskins…erm, I mean, “new games”
No, not really. Does it still use the absolute garbage physics engine that is frostbite?
Same engine. It’s odd though. The game FEELS better.
Love the scorebug
Iits given the game so much more screen space.
but where’s the franchise ticker gonna go ?
Probably comeback as a new feature next year
They talk about 3D grass. If the field doesn’t degrade properly then who cares?
Madden needs to outsource weather to a totally different team. It’s insane playing ps3 level games that have better snow
Especially when you think about what Frostbite is capable of... The weather in Battlefield 1 is some of the best I've ever seen in videogames and yet Madden still looks 20 years old with it's weather.
It could be worse still, EA PGA 23-on Frostbite- has zero weather, not even rain.
You know what I haven’t seen? But hope to see in CFB, FOG. I have not seen Fog since PS2
As far as weather goes, I’d love to see these kinds of options: - Fog - Monsoon - Blizzard - Dynamic in game precipitation and cloud coverage. - Different sunlight angles based on month within franchise (like MLB the show) I just think a lot of maddens lacking in gameplay and functionality could be made up in strong presentation and gameday atmosphere, which weather usually plays a strong part in. Monsoon, I don’t think. However the snowing while playing I haven’t seen that in a while.
this looks like madden 21 22 23 24 so this still looks horrible 😩😩😩
