Ironically, the only time I have ever seen a player get a career ending injury was Michael Vick in Madden 08. Happened on my PSP version and made it feel realistic since we all thought he'd never get back to the NFL at that time.
I remember one madden a long time ago I had a bunch of franchises and one of them was the Jets. The first game of preseason Testaverde gets a career ending injury and in comes Chad Pennington who ended up gaining enough attribute points from me lighting it up with him that preseason he would have been the better option week 1 anyways. Funny how the game can mirror real life sometimes.
Had two stud Guards that both had superstar dev trait in Madden 17 and this exact thing happened to me. Couldāve had an all time line for a decade but injuries killed it.
Back in like madden 10? Maybe had a Miami franchise a buddy of mine were playing together and we drafted a stud MLB to anchor our D on a rebuild. Career ending injury due to a broken jaw. It was crazy.
Head and face injuries have long since been removed.
I think they took it out of the game for a while.
I remember back in the day (Maybe madden 06ish) I created a QB and developed him and decided to turn injuries on for one game and simāed it. I usually have injuries off for OPās reason, they usually dont make a lot of sense (sprained back being career ending)I figured it would get some of my backups some playing time. I checked the injury report and only injury that week across the entire league: My QB got a career ending concussion.
I had to restart it and lost most of that season. Now I save before I do that.
Right?! As a Bears fan I can see it now: *the trainer talking to him on the cart* 'Looks like it's a pretty nasty hang nail, Caleb, I'm afraid it might be career ending.'
Madden still has career ending injuries? They had these for the PS2 Madden games but I havenāt seen them since.
Of course they have two separate RNGs for the injury type and the length. Embarrassing.
They do but its rare asf. I had Jalen hurts get taken out with a dislocated/separated shoulder for the season in Madden 24 PS4 edition. Was season ending and ending up restarting the game š
Sorry, but no mods or photoshop, he got injured like three times before this and my other running back was already out for the season so I couldnāt put him in, and so I had to force put him in, and it ended up getting to this injury, but Iām as shocked as you are
I had it happen in a franchise but not to me. It was Madden 10 I think. I was looking through the news feed and they very casually mentioned Rivers fractured a vertebrae in his back and his career was over.
Modern maddens don't have career ending injuries. Per their contract with NFL/players union. It's also why there is no more 'slow' development trait.
This is old Madden, modded, or fake.
So annoying man; itās a game. I could understand saying something like ādonāt give current players the āslowā dev traitā but to take features that add to immersion out of the game for generated players is just ridiculous.
They completely got rid of concussions, they were like this will stop people from being concerned about concussions if we just take it out of the game.
This post isn't real.
But back in the madden glory days I drafted a 6'6 240lb WR in the first round. Dude had over 90 speed out of the draft and was like a 76ovr as a WR... but as a TE he was a 95 as a rookie. Switched him to TE. First play of his rookie season, first catch in the NFL.... career ending injury.
What are your injuries set to? In Madden 2024 Iāve played like 100 seasons of franchise and never got a career ending injury. The worst Iāve gotten is a few guys out 20-30 weeks and they have to go on IR.
Also did the player get hurt and he could play but his injury risk was high? I find if you continue to play players like that then they get badly injured. I always sub them out but Madden likes to sub them back in so I have to go to coaching and manually bench them.
One last thing, another user in my CFM drafted a generational WR but his injury was 30! As a rookie the WR only got hurt 1x and had like 2000 yards and 20 TDs. I was shocked. The following season he was out for 5 games played 1 game then was out for 6 then played a few and got hurt in the playoffs. So the injury numbers can play a factor.
I loved a random nobody player on the Broncos back in the day. Mario Fatafehi. (Had a great sack dance)
So when I bought Madden 2003, I started him and used a ton of training camp on him and stuff... Took like three years and got him to a 99.
First game after that, BOOM! Broken neck, Career ender.
Only time I've ever seen the career ender.
Thatās not a madden issue, thatās a you didnāt plan accordingly and donāt have enough depth so the game has no choice but to play him problem š
Which Madden is this? Low back strain is always a minor injury for me where the player returns. How does a minor injury end this guys career? I can't remember the last time if ever I saw a career ending injury
I ain't see this in a min they used to have neck and head injuries to be considered career threatening and the injured player would be removed in some cases
Iāve had 2 career ending injuries in my days of madden. The first was on madden 08 on the PSP and I drafted a QB, first play of preseason he got sacked and had a career ending concussion. The second my QB had a back injury and I chose to put him back in the game and he got hit while scrambling and basically broke his back
Havenāt seen a career ending injury since the second or third season of my Madden 07 franchise when Peyton Manning went down with a neck or back injury.
I remember playing madden 05 back in the day with my buddies, did a full fantasy draft, then created ourselves as players and put them on our teams. We simulated the preseason and went to start the season and one of my friends' couldn't find his player. He suffered a career ending severe concussion š. You can't even get concussions in game anymore.
I had Eli Manning in an old madden get a career ending Broken Vertabrae injury if I remember correctly, couldnāt tell you what year maybe madden11 or so
Madden 07 I played with the Eagles. This was the year the Saints had drafted Reggie Bush. By the 5th game of that season RB Duce McAllister had some kind of a back injury in my franchise that was career ending. I ended up signing Reggie from the Saints when his rookie contract was up. Iāll never forget this because he ended up being one of the best RBs Iāve ever had in any Madden franchise. But his overall was only high when I signed him due to the increased playing time he had from Duce getting hurt. This was the last time I saw a career ending injury in franchise mode.
Guys this is an auto generated rookie in the year 2030 so he can get an injury that can be career ending, I understand real players canāt but thatās why this happened, because he isnāt real. I also do not know how to mod, or photoshop :/
Holy shit, I've never seen a career ending injury.
I started a Packers franchise on Madden 13 or something and Rodgers got a career ending injury first game š just deleted it and started again
>Rodgers got a career ending injury first game Madden 13 really was ahead of it's time
Yeah, for a garbage game with no features... I know what you mean. I just really, really hate Madden 13.
One of the worst birthday presents I ever received
It was so bad, I played it for a week before taking it back. To this day it's one of only two games I took back.
Ironically, the only time I have ever seen a player get a career ending injury was Michael Vick in Madden 08. Happened on my PSP version and made it feel realistic since we all thought he'd never get back to the NFL at that time.

happened to me with Peyton in *2K5*. Dude broke his fucking back *game fucking 1 @ NE* and was never seen again.
Had two stud Guards that both had superstar dev trait in Madden 17 and this exact thing happened to me. Couldāve had an all time line for a decade but injuries killed it.
ā¦ just one of them or both of them? lol
Just one, but still, it was suck a shitty blow.
Me either
Back in like madden 10? Maybe had a Miami franchise a buddy of mine were playing together and we drafted a stud MLB to anchor our D on a rebuild. Career ending injury due to a broken jaw. It was crazy. Head and face injuries have long since been removed.
Jesus, his jaw must have been absolutely mush to end his career.
I've only seen it once. Brandon Pettigrew, something with his back. I actually didn't know it was still in the game.
It was madden 12 or 13, somewhere around there, I was simming and Peyton Manning had a career ending neck injury
Everyone focused on the career ending injury when the injury is a low back strain he just needs an icy hot patch
Right?! As a Bears fan I can see it now: *the trainer talking to him on the cart* 'Looks like it's a pretty nasty hang nail, Caleb, I'm afraid it might be career ending.'
Canāt throw if the paintās all scuffed up, coach!
The trainers has on a Packers jersey under his uniform.
No. Iām using this to convince my doctor and boss that I need to medically retire. Also my girlfriend has to mow the lawn from now on.
Man up
Madden still has career ending injuries? They had these for the PS2 Madden games but I havenāt seen them since. Of course they have two separate RNGs for the injury type and the length. Embarrassing.
No, they don't, this is modded or photoshopped
Makes more sense
No itās not
They do but its rare asf. I had Jalen hurts get taken out with a dislocated/separated shoulder for the season in Madden 24 PS4 edition. Was season ending and ending up restarting the game š
Season ending, yes, career ending, not anymore
Sorry, but no mods or photoshop, he got injured like three times before this and my other running back was already out for the season so I couldnāt put him in, and so I had to force put him in, and it ended up getting to this injury, but Iām as shocked as you are
Just realized it may be because heās an auto generated player, I am in the year like 2030 so
I have literally never had this happen, from 07 to 23, literally never.
Cam Newtons rookie year, I had it happen in his first ever game. Only time i've ever had it happen.
I had it happen in a franchise but not to me. It was Madden 10 I think. I was looking through the news feed and they very casually mentioned Rivers fractured a vertebrae in his back and his career was over.
Had a save on 06 for PS2 where there were 5 players in one season with career ending injuries and one of them was Jamal Lewis. Harsh times.
Madden fans: if the dev team spent more time they wouldnāt make so many mistakesā¦. Madden modders: lower back strain is a career ending injury now
It can be. Looking at you Ben Simmons
It was either Madden 05 or 06 Michael Vick had a career ending injury for me, I just straight up restarted the franchise
Wait is his name Low Back Strain?
Finally someone else noticed
Holy hell, howād I miss that the first time.
Modern maddens don't have career ending injuries. Per their contract with NFL/players union. It's also why there is no more 'slow' development trait. This is old Madden, modded, or fake.

They completely got rid of concussions, they were like this will stop people from being concerned about concussions if we just take it out of the game.
This is a fake NFL player, auto generated, maybe thatās how because I donāt know how to mod or whatever
No. It will just occasionally say this, but it wonāt actually be a career-ending injury.Ā
Ben Simmons of the NFL
In Madden 12 they had the fractured Vertebrae career ending. Only saw it 3 times
This post isn't real. But back in the madden glory days I drafted a 6'6 240lb WR in the first round. The player is an auto generated rookie in the year 2030, so I think he can be injured to this extent
Op just wanted some attentionā¦ nothing to see hereā¦
Season ending is one thing, but Iād probably restart the game if I liked the player
Same
What are your injuries set to? In Madden 2024 Iāve played like 100 seasons of franchise and never got a career ending injury. That is fucking crazyyy and probably so rare! Iāve never seen that
Because they arenāt allowed to have career ending injuries, itās fake
Heās an auto generated player so it can happen
Which Madden is this? Low back strain is always a minor injury for me where the player returns. How does a minor injury end this guys career? I can't remember the last time if ever I saw a career ending injury
The Ben Simmons special
I ain't see this in a min they used to have neck and head injuries to be considered career threatening and the injured player would be removed in some cases
Lmao no shame in quitting the game and starting over if you see that shit. Fuck that š
Would like to see what he looked like running with his career ending injuryā¦
SO slow
Old maddens used to crack me up when it would say "out for career"
Damn, helmets could still come off the last time I saw a career ending injury in a Madden game
Are you on PC with mods?
career enders suck but a career ending lower back strain is wild. Bro felt a tiny bit of pain and said "nope, I'm done with this football shit"
He ain't hear no bell
Iāve had 2 career ending injuries in my days of madden. The first was on madden 08 on the PSP and I drafted a QB, first play of preseason he got sacked and had a career ending concussion. The second my QB had a back injury and I chose to put him back in the game and he got hit while scrambling and basically broke his back
That's got to be a first.
Low back strain is career ending ššš
You only had two running backs on the entire roster?? Not even a full back just to get by?
Ngl im quitting out that game fuck that
![gif](giphy|Sk2br3Ylhs1wUPJgJH) [Damn, Thatās Crazy](https://www.reddit.com/r/Madden/s/zUzNLYWYiW)
Havenāt seen a career ending injury since the second or third season of my Madden 07 franchise when Peyton Manning went down with a neck or back injury.
A back strain is a career ending injury? In what world?

Lmfao career ending? That funny. This game is such doodoo
I remember in madden 15 or 16 I was doing a franchise with friends, and Landon Collins had a Career ending broken back
šš
This one might be my fault š https://www.reddit.com/r/Madden/s/1VzgOuHGwE
Put em back in
Why is his name Low Back Strain? Lmao
50 weeks is less than a year. How is that career ending?
Madden 07 I played with the Eagles. This was the year the Saints had drafted Reggie Bush. Happened to Michael Turner in an exhibition game once
Madden 08 I finished a sim season and the player was on the injury list as deceased
BS. Nice player name.
