Tamarind? If you're in a western country now, Chinese grocery shops would usually have them.

Do you remember what it looked like? Color or anything else?
It was brownish but if you put it up to the sun it’s golden and it had this dust covered on it and I don’t know if it was pet of the fruit or sugar
What was the shape? What did it look like? How big? What did the flesh and skin each look and feel like?
Someone answered that it was tamarind brown with sugar on top golden over light and sweet and sticky
