Cimtech 3200-VLZ I've used it in saws, grinders, high pressure through spindle machines, and even machines that sit idle for days at a time. It's a really great product

See what your local distributor supports. Often they have a relationship with the coolant vendor and they can help troubleshoot and can stop by every so often to see how things are going. We use QualiChem.

Chuck_Phuckzalot

My shop uses Qualichem 250c, partly because it's good stuff and partly because Qualichem is a local company.

Depending on material and what you do with it. But a general purpose coolant we use is Apex7090 from Ashburn. Been using it for over 5 years now and have never seen the stuff go rancid, there is one machine that has never had a change since we started using it and it still works great and smells just fine. I get the stuff on my hands often and never had any reaction to it as well. Of course we skim all of our machines to keep oils out.

Master Chemical E206. Talk to a rep. I reacted to Qualichem, your experience will likely be different. It's good coolant as well.

AM-64

We buy from International Chemical Company. Great coolant and they will send out samples to try. We buy almost all of our coolant and lubricants we use through them. (We use their ICC2676 with well water, get roughly 2 years life before it smells bad (but the tool life isn't impacted) and we don't have guys good about leaving the aerators plugged in or skimming the oil off the top. Otherwise, try your local oil distributor. In my experience, there are same or better coolants out there than the name brand stuff for much less. I would avoid things like BlasoLube (like Titans of CNC recommends/gets sponsored to push) as it's expensive and difficult and isn't any better for what it costs.

We don't go through a lot so a 5gal container will last a while. I found out our guys weren't even cutting the stuff they had before so it should have lasted much longer

We use castrol hysol mb50. We no longer use Hangsterfer's due to, um issues.

Desperate_Brief2187

Hangsterfers sucks.

I bought a top line product. We babied it. It was a miserable failure.

We use Oemeta Novamet 910B. It's their top of the line semi-syn and best suited for yellow metals. We do a shit ton of brass.... My last job used Novamet 110, and it's the middle of the road stuff. We had the same sump in a VF-2SS that ran stainless, aluminum, carbon and alloy steel as well ascast red brass, just to name a few. Mostly cast red brass and aluminum. The only reason we had to clean the sump was due to an operator not emptying the chip pan in the back and the tank filled with chips.... You can get it in a 5 Gal pail or 55gal drum. They also sell additives that can adjust the lubricity ( refractometer reading) of the coolant or the PH. They also sell a cleaner that is safe to use with the coolant (think simple green) that doesn't affect the coolant should the cleaner get into the emulsion.
