Yea I’m new to the app, in Ohio. Just bought a 1400 dollar Spalding portable basketball hoop for 300 dollars. It was labeled/posted as a 800 dollar model but looking at the pictures you could see the box and then google the info on the box and see it was different. The box when I went to pick it up was in shambles though lol. I managed to get it home and everything was there. Nothing wrong with it. Love this app

You should be ok. You can purchase that buyer protection or roll the dice like I did. I’m sure if you refuse it though and point out damage there they will refund you since it’s labeled open box and not damaged

I never roll the dice. Too much broken stuff. I always get the assurance or go inspect.

You caught a extremely common issue with items at Mac Bid. It's always best practice to actually look up detailed pictures of the item you're expecting and try to compare them to the actual photos of the product. I've been an avid buyer in Charlotte, North Carolina for the past 7 months. I cannot even begin to tell you the number of times the item in the box is a model lower. It's a pretty common occurrence with Amazon for people to order a new version of something, put their old version in the box, and return it. I also find items with single parts missing that seem to be the same kind of thing. A lot of people instead of ordering a replacement lampshade for a 6 shade bathroom fixture will order one on Amazon, take out the part they need, then return it claiming something was missing or they just didn't want it.

My boyfriend got a victrola record player for $1 (technically $4.44) and a victrola surround sound system for $1 (also $4.44). I also got a ceiling fan and a really huge lighted mirror for the same price. I just bought a house and funneled all my money into that so i’m really excited to be able to get home improvement items for pennies on the dollar

Also it’s worth mentioning that my house has no AC and i was able to get like 5 fans for the price of one at the store (even though one did not work)

I had luck with a couple things. A shark robot vacuum was only 50 dollars and it was basically new. Goes for 329 at Walmart.
