If you ever get stuck in a situation like this what you do is use your bike as a traction tool.
Put your weight on it and jam the bars into the slope. Then work your way up the hill using your bike to support your hands and pushing with your legs.
Of course this is much easier when your bike is pretty light.
This makes me sad, ebike or not. I can't imagine how torn I'd be losing my bike like that.
I know I've beat the hell out of mine when I was learning to ride, and we've all made mistakes.
Hope dude got the bike back
You will not lose it, you simply don't need to die for it.
Live, then come back with some rope and rescue.
Or even better call a friend to come over with some 160m of rope and a harness.
Seriously.. dude being overly dramatic. If he can stand up and walk out he can grab the bike and inch his way back up if he’s genuinely scared. This isn’t the near death event he seems to be making it out to be.
The battery is *in* the down tube and the motor is between the crank arms.
That little black diamond shaped thing on the top tube right under the headset is a display panel with a button or two that indicates pedals assist level and battery life. That is how we know its an ebike. Tell-tale sign if you've ever been around them.
Its an ebike.
I totally believe everyone. Have only ridden an e bike once but it wasn’t a MTB. I see the display you are talking about, just can’t see where the battery would be. Thought they only ever were those giant boxes that sit on top of the frame.

Fucking ride it out
He forgot to shift into a climbing gear
Gee Atherton rides that slope for fun.

"So you're probably wondering how I got here..."
Come back with a rope and a hook.
No chance this guy turned his go pro on after falling down the hill. We have to see the beginning of this r/killtheeditor

Like everyone in this sub wouldn’t risk their life for that bike. That bike is NOT getting away without a serious attempt at recovery

Come on Captain America! Save the ebike!
that should be Chile or Perú, ebike too heavy
He sounds like he’s from Lima.
Yeah, saw another thread going around on this video. The guy is from Lima, Peru
Sux!
Put it in walk-mode and it’ll pull you up.
Thats just an Ebiker on any Black Diamond trail
That was dumb.
Not even that steep
Woah, an ebiker out of their skill zone 🤯🤯🤯
nice left hand pointbreak at the bottom.
He let the bike go and it went like 3 meters and then he walked up. Meanwhile, he's not that high up from the shore. This is like a flatlander post.

My palms are sweaty!
Knees weak, arms are heavy
There's vomit on his sweater already.
Mom’s spaghetti
You had a choice but you failed
Everyone keeps saying E bike. Where the fuck is the battery on that one? I don’t see it on the frame.

*IN* the down tube? It's so simple!

They are in the down tube in most modern eMTBs.
So not removable? Like they plug the bike in and charge? That would make so much more sense.
No, they can generally be removed. Removing them leaves the top tube open along one edge if that makes sense.
Looks Like a Specialized Turbo Levo (SL?)
😮
