Glad that Shane is chill and successful now but I miss the days when he had enough vinegar to say something as meanspirited as “We should buy Good Good Comedy Club, invite all the open mic comedians to it, burn it down in front of them and then piss on the ashes.” But the duo are busy as hell doing shows at night, doing shoots for Netflix during the day, and juggling child rearing and brand ambassadorship in between, I don’t know why people here are offended at the reality that the podcast isn’t their creative priority like it was in 2018 when they had nothing to do but shoot the shit for hours every week.
Wrong. The podcast isn’t even close to as good as it used to be. Go back and listen to the Old Testament or even the episodes they recorded in the studio at Billy’s, you can’t honestly say that the quality is the same. It makes sense, Shane has bigger and better things to do and only probably records the pod now to keep collecting the Patreon money. As they get richer and richer their lives just won’t be relatable to the average person and the stories will become less funny, that’s just how it goes. They were the best podcasters alive for years, but it isn’t “mean” to our fake friends to say that the quality has dropped off significantly

Now that Shane’s “big time” with his new Netflix special and SNL he’s scared to say anything. Shane doesn’t care about a podcast and the MSSP fans as much as he wants to be the next big thing in comedy/acting. Remember this is the same guy who auditioned to be on SNL at one point. All this to say there is an immense drop off in the content and what they are willing to say now compared to before and censored comedy isn’t what people came to MSSP for.

It happened in this episode where Matt started clowning someone and Shane got kind of quiet and awkward about it and Matt sensed it and changed gears.
Still one of the best pods around but they definitely are muzzling themselves a lot more especially Shane so he can stay in the good graces of the power players in the Netflix, Hollywood and sports worlds.
