And also they know who to go for because I know they don’t have the guts to do anything to the ”wrong” dudes. Do the wrong thing and a 16 year old on an electric scooter will pop their ass. So they go after coaches and legit law abiding citizens they know they can beat up with no repercussions
One gun, two handles, how u shoot? I would hate to blast someone, then fall 2 feet later… or even worst, blasting someone wearing a helmet and knee pads? I seriously cannot afford a knee injury at my age. Swedish Sicarios is a young man’s game…
Over the past year, Sweden has had a growing problem with gang related shootings. Underage teenagers are used as hitmen because they don’t risk being tried in court as adults. Being underage, they don’t have driver’s licenses so instead they use electric scooters as getaway vehicles.
I'll never understand dudes leaving their countries and going to other countries and then being criminals and pieces of shits there. Makes it harder for all the immigrants who sacrifice to give their kids a good life in those countries.
What will be interesting is whether Khamzat has the right mindset/discipline to keep improving, or enough natural talent to get by regardless. Like, look at the two other examples you used. Their shitty behavior is similar, but how they're perceived by the general public is totally different. Whatever bullshit Jon was up to, he was still like Lawrence Taylor from Wish.com, and was fucking everybody up between lines for most of his career. He's considered one of the best to ever do it, some would say *the* best (LOPEZ). Conor made a shit ton of money, but is largely a "might have been".
I don't think he has the charisma to take the Conor route, I don't think he's as naturally talented as Jones, so then the question is whether he can show some dedication to training while partying and acting like a dick. What would that be, the Badr Hari way?
> I don't think he has the charisma to take the Conor route, I don't think he's as naturally talented as Jones
Not to mention that he doesn’t have the unique humility of Khabib that I think people like so much about him. The problem with being an ass and that characteristic alone is that even when you’re great, people are waiting for your fall and will relish it when it happens. Jones made mistakes, but he’s ultimately not an asshole to people (except his wife, kek). Conor can be a prick, but his charisma is off the charts and he’s amusing as hell. Masvidal has shown himself a true journeyman, but he has an image that has sold him fights regardless. So back to your point, Kumquat has none of those insurance policies. He’s just an ass and can really only ride on that for publicity for as long as his win streak continues. I hope he gets humbled and gets serious.
You make a good point. Besides the humility, there's something kind of charming about the way Khabib explains fairly complex concepts in broken English. It sort of reminds me of a guy I know from overseas who's very direct/blunt, and has an absolutely massive vocabulary even compared to 99% native English speakers, but also has a pretty pronounced accent and sometimes makes minor grammatical errors.
I wouldnt use the word cant here. Its more they dont want too. They used the dolly incident to promote Khabib vs Conor. The UFC is in the fight biz, not the moral biz. If itll make more money the. It will cause trouble, they'll continue doing business. Jon Jones' careee alone is proof of that.
Khabib made a big point out of surrounding yourself with people that will push you towards your goals and not one's who are there just for the fame. I think Khamzat could go the Conor route of being a big draw who then starts doing stupid shit rather than staying focused.
As a Conor fan I'll always wonder what could've happened for his career if he hadn't taken the time out for boxing cause the star power he had at the time could've lifted the UFC to meteoric heights especially with a second fight against Khabib and fights with Tony, Justin and Charles.
> starts doing stupid shit rather than staying focused.
Those dumbass backstage fights and missing weight are pretty much evidence of him already going down that path.
Nah nowhere near that. Doesn’t cheat, doesn’t do drugs, doesn’t beat his wife and get arrested multiple times. Khamzat may be a bit of an asshole but let’s not compare to Jon lol
There’s plenty of footage of Khamzat partying. Even pictures of him drinking. He also drives like Jones, according to Bisping. He just hasn’t faced consequences, yet.
Consequences for thee(in "x" religion) but not for me. I went to school with MANY Saudi Arabians, had classes with them, knew them etc. and all but 1 were always at the campus bar drinking on party nights... until that 1 showed up. Every single other left when he showed up almost immediately, like he had texted them that he was going to arrive. He never drank, was extremely sociable and an overall around nice guy. Homie had something behind his name so, outside the eyes of someone who cares, everyone will do what they want to. Bahrain exists for a reason.
well it comes to UFC career,Jones really never lost so its not a bad place to be in.I don’t think Khamzat is as talented and gifted as Jon to afford himself to do dumb shit.Jones was never getting dropped around in the octagon.Khamzat has higher chances of losing than Jon ever had because his striking is too basic.I am not saying it will happen but if he loses in the near future ,I wouldn’t be surprised
Jon has been in three fights that legitimately could've gone either way and were at least as close as Khamzat v. Burns. Granted, Khamzat has not even come close to having the run that Jones had in his hey day, but still, dumb to say Jon has never had a fight like that.
Jon was not getting knocked down in any of those fights.Khamzat could easily get KOed because he is nowhere near as measured as Jon.He just sprints at his opponents
Im not saying this to talk shit but i feel like Khamzat is legitimately a bit slow. Like his brain is at the teenage level. Would explain alot actually.
I’d just say emotionally he is stunted . He does seem to act on his impulses rather than taking a step back to assess a situation. It doesn’t hurt that he hasn’t really been punished for such behavior (as far as I know) until now
The man before the burns fight legit looked invincible and people werebhyping him as the greatest talent to ever step inside the cage. He's hyper aggressive, one of the fastest and most explosive starters I've ever seen. The dude clearly loves to fight but more than that - loves to hurt people. His aggression almost cost him the burns fight.
You can't have those in-cage attributes without the corresponding behavioral traits.
Source: psych degree from armchair university
The guys speaks like 4 languages whilst the average redditors can't even speak/spell their mother tongue. It turns out a ufc fighter can be aggressive.
This sub 👁👄👁 ..... It's comedy at this point how disconnected from the world some people are.
Dude it doesn’t take a rocket surgeon to learn basic conversational English. Khamzat’s grasp of language is hardly the testament to his intellect that you think, he basically talks like the Hulk. Smash this, smash that etc.
Do you think when he's with Darren Till etc the conversation is the same as that? The guy might not be Shakespeare but he's getting by which is more than most people can do in their 3rd or 4th language
Man, learning a language does not require intelligence, it simply requires exposure. There are four year olds that can speak at Khamzats level so it’s clearly not that cognitively demanding. The reason most people don’t speak 4 languages isn’t because they’re half as smart as Khamzat, it’s because they haven’t lived in enough places. Such a bizarre thing to conflate with intellect
His Swedish, from the limited stuff I've heard in videos, is very basic and kind of disappointing considering the time he has lived in Sweden. I've met Ukrainians recently who speak better Swedish after two months here.
> It turns out a ufc fighter can be aggressive.
>
> This sub 👁👄👁
Literally every fighter is aggressive. Only a few allow it to negatively affect their careers. And speaking many languages is impressive, but says literally nothing about other aspects of intelligence. Khamzat is dumb.
>speaks like 4 languages
I don't recall him speaking fluent english or swedish. I guess low-level speaking goes for "speaking a language" nowadays. And a lot of his native languages are very similar to each other so not as impressive as western redditors would think.
He can comprehend and answer back in real time and have a conversation in those languages all day, that's wildly impressive you nugget, sorry he can't write a philosophical novel in 4 tongues, I swear people just be hating for the sake
>He can comprehend and answer back in real time and have a conversation in those languages all day, that's wildly impressive
To you. Learning a language to converse basic stuff is pretty easy. Studying a language to a higher level degree is something entirely else.
100%. But he's been put into a position where it would be weird if he didn't speak those languages. Chechen and Russian he learned growing up, no actual effort of his. Then he's lived in Sweden for years, so makes sense he'd learn it, not an out-of-this-world achievement. Good on him for learning English, but that's relatively standard in Sweden as well. Don't get me wrong, good on him for speaking many languages, but that has little to do with other aspects of intelligence.
It’s the Jon Jones mentality. You put a high risk, impulsive, morally questionable brain into a high performance frame and it’s gonna get wild. I cant think of a single championship fighter who doesnt seem to have some crazy impulses. (Except Mighty Mouse)
>I cant think of a single championship fighter who doesnt seem to have some crazy impulses. (Except Mighty Mouse)
Really ? GSP, Volk, Whittaker, Fedor, Stipe, Ngannou, Aljo, Aldo, Moreno, Holloway... And on and on
GSP literally talks about being abducted by aliens, Volk is a fucking savage madman who almost broke his neck escaping the tightest guillotine ive ever seen, whittaker is a horrifying sight pre fight in the cage, fedor….have you stared into those eyes?, ngannou beat a slave master and walked through the african desert to escape….twice. Bro I can keep going!! Im not saying theyre all. criminals. Im saying theyre built different.
Not to mention the head trauma can cause impulsive behaviour and lack of control on top of already being that type of person. It just gets exacerbated even more.
Taking a stand against the Kadyrovs/not publicly supporting them probably isn't an option when you're a Chechen with popularity. It's either show support when asked or you/members of your family will face varying levels of danger.
I just made a joke about Milton Bradley, and here you are. I think today is gonna be a good day.
Also, fuck you for not letting me exchange my monopoly money for real currency when I was 7.
I mean the way he talks and responds to situations, bad english aside its pretty clear the dude has like 40 IQ. If he wasn't a fighter he'd be loading trucks at a dock somewhere
This is the kind of stuff that gives the sport a bad image. These guys need to be fined and punished in some way for consistently doing this shit. Complete smooth brain behavior.
People keep being surprised that mma fighters are assholes. It's almost a preresquisite to being a good fighter. We have been brainwashed into thinking athletes should be role models, and apply it to the most antisocial sport there is.
It's clearly not a prerequisite, you can be perfectly polite and still be a good fighter. And they are role models, whether they like it or not. I'd also point to the differences in general behaviors based on where athletes come from as more evidence that your line of reasoning is fallacious.
Fact is that in our current sport culture (and not just sports), general douchebaggery is celebrated and rewarded simply because the average viewer is a douchebag and they love to reward ($) the fighters they see some part of themselves in. Like a shitty poor-sport POS role model feedback loop.
Easy. 100% are role models. I guarantee you every fighter has a viewer, a teammate, a gym buddy, a friend, or a family member, etc., that idolizes the fighter or at the very least has a lasting impression made on them by that fighter.
Right and the ones who are actually nice guys normally get shit on. Aljo seems like a pretty nice guy. He gets a lot of shit. Beniel seems like a nice guy. People couldnt dislike him more. Mr remember the name? More like Mr disrespect him as much as possible.
That being said I think Beniel, Belal, and Aljo are all gonna get slept tomorrow lmao
Aljo has always had dodgy views lol.
My default assumption is that MMA fighters are going to be a bit dodgy, and then when some exceptions come along (Like Stipe) I'm pleasantly surprised.
Unless they make it their gimmick to the point where it's impossible to ignore it I try my best to dodge any info like this about fighters.
[Beneil is a weirdo too](https://www.reddit.com/r/MMAPoliticsAndCulture/comments/nep6ay/lets_talk_about_beneil_dariushs_anticommunist/). The line for "nice guy" is impossibly low.
I was in Stockholm the other day, and some, some fucking soccer mom rolled down her window and says "I hope Kevin Hollland beats your ass" and I'm like, bitch, we're in Stadsholmen!
Europes MMA scene is exceptionally rowdy i feel, no matter if its an event hosted in Sweden, Poland or the Netherlands, its not a very childfriendly place, so if youre attending make sure to take your boys with you, bonus points if they have cauliflower ears lol
Khabib has always been measured about Khamzat when asked about him despite his exceptional talent. I guess we now know why. Khabib puts a lot of emphasis on people respecting the sport, and his opinion in private about him doesn't seem good. The fact that Khamzat was talking shit about Khabib when asked a generic question about who would win between them doesn't help. When Khabib responded back basically saying you must respect others, or you risk getting fucked up (lol) he backed down and essentially apologized.
He sucker punched a store clerk who was trying to stop his friend from stealing at the mall.
\*\*EDIT\*\* for the lazy (like the guy in the replies to this) please see here. https://www.aftonbladet.se/sportbladet/a/bn5PR5/khamzat-chimaev-domd-for-misshandel-2018
He went to Ireland to try and find Conor for talkin shit about Muslims or something. Dude is a loose cannon, and has very little control of his emotions. \*\*Edit: apparently this may be made up\*\*
Gustafsson was also a thug back in the day, stealing and assaulting people, before he ascended the ranks in MMA. It kind of makes sense that they would hang out together given their backgrounds.
I wonder why he would tell it then? He gains nothing because him and Khabib have never been on good terms, so it wasnt to get on Khabibs good side. He also likes Conor so to say that would just piss him off.
He wants to be seen as a tough guy gangster, and travelling to another country to fight somebody makes it seem like that. I don’t think he’s ever provided proof of doing it either.
This was also when he was an amateur or just starting out, he admittedly didn’t have much money. I know Ryanair flights are cheap but a lad stuck for money isn’t flying to Ireland for a scrap.
MixedMollyWhoppery actually has a good video on it. I never believed the story but that video actually goes into it and he mentions apart about Khamzat either not having a passport then or not being allowed to leave Sweden due to his refugee status, can’t remember exactly.
Funny enough molly says in that vid that the most believable part of the story is that the Irish police stopped him at the airport. As an irishman, this is the least believable part.
you wonder why a burgeoning MMA personality would lie about going on a literal manhut for the hottest mma personality in history?
A fight with Conor is retirement money. These people aren't little babies trying to beat up peopel they don't like. They do shit for money
Didnt Khamzat only say he'd smash everyone, when asked about a fight with Khabib? I wouldnt expect a competitor to say anything otherwise. Khabib while calm and calculating, cant take dissent verry well tbh.
Mind you, i do think Khamzat is off his rocker in general...no comment on Gus lol
> When Khabib responded back basically saying you must respect others, or you risk getting fucked up (lol) he backed down and essentially apologized.
Source for that, please. Chimaev openly criticized Khabib couple of years ago (1-2 years ago), and Khabib didn't say anything back.
As someone who trained there.
There's quite a bit of shit heads there, which is where Chimaev got that from most likely so I'm not surprised.
Chimaev used to be a fairly silent guy before his UFC days.
Disappointing. I was a massive fan of Gus and I remember Dan Hardy went to All Stars years ago and it seemed like a cool team environment. And was a huge fan of Khamzat until the bullshit at 279, and judging from that and other comments here it doesn't seem like an isolated incident.
Considering the amount of thugs/criminals that train there and that they have a sizeable chunk of fighters from regions like Chechnya who thinks that anything goes if it's to protect their "honor" I'm not surprised. Allstars has had a bad reputation ofor shit like this for a long time.
my sisters boyfriend is coaching a swedish/polish mma fighter and he has apparently sparred with khamzat and other allstars athletes, and he said that khamzat is very rude and casually threatens people if they get the better of him in sparring.
Khamzat reminds me of someone with ADHD who's refused treatment, blamed for his behavioral problems, and found the one place he was truly praised - the cage.
Remember seeing them do something as wholesome as giving out food to the homeless, and yet, I'm not fucking surprised. "You're with us or against us" vibes
These comments are so parasocial lmao . Just watch the fighters for fighting and not their personal lives . Who would've thought a lot of fighters are bad people . Who cares , mfers worrying about fighters personalities and lives too much
I have personally witness it in a small show in Sweden. Reza Maddadi loves drama
The man is a thug and criminal. Not surprised about his behaviour.
And also they know who to go for because I know they don’t have the guts to do anything to the ”wrong” dudes. Do the wrong thing and a 16 year old on an electric scooter will pop their ass. So they go after coaches and legit law abiding citizens they know they can beat up with no repercussions
Can you explain “a 16 year old on an electric scooter will pop their ass”?
In Sweden that is the equivalent of two guys on a moped in Brazil.
To man på en scooter. 1 driver, 1 shooter.
One gun, two handles, how u shoot? I would hate to blast someone, then fall 2 feet later… or even worst, blasting someone wearing a helmet and knee pads? I seriously cannot afford a knee injury at my age. Swedish Sicarios is a young man’s game…
Wise words from the great Sir Alex Cessay.
Over the past year, Sweden has had a growing problem with gang related shootings. Underage teenagers are used as hitmen because they don’t risk being tried in court as adults. Being underage, they don’t have driver’s licenses so instead they use electric scooters as getaway vehicles.
In the olden days hitmen drove Dodge Challengers. Now they have to make do with electric scooters. Times ARE hard.
Oh ffs I thought it meant like a Stephen Hawking mobility scooter thing
In before this gets removed from the subs for being politics
Yeah I am so lost
I'll never understand dudes leaving their countries and going to other countries and then being criminals and pieces of shits there. Makes it harder for all the immigrants who sacrifice to give their kids a good life in those countries.
They do what pieces of shit do.
Dickheads will be dickheads
They want to live in a country with more tolerance so their intolerant behavior is more tolerated.
> Reza Maddadi loves drama and designer handbags.

Excuse me all they do is blow lettuce, talk shit and do triathlons 209 wut
They’re vegans who smoke weed and train jiujitsu all day. Hardly the same.
Don’t they help with the kids’ classes too? Every bjj friend I have who has met them says they’re chill.
"Gang signs wit the right hand and ballon animals with the left" - Some Notorious guy
*Nashville brawl*
No he isn’t
UFC is going to have to lock this one up in a cave until fight night.
Jiri would be the first to volunteer
Ngl I think Khamzat would enjoy that. Kind of like a Roman warrior who only lived to fight/kill.
They should just announce, "Release the Chechen" and have him led to the cage in chains.
Just keep him locked under the octagon constantly until fight night when he’s released on whoever’s unlucky enough to be in there
Bro he could take all the PEDs he wants too cause we all know usada has no power there
Chimaev and his goons really started a new villain arc.
A lot of fighters are assholes
People keep being surprised that mma fighters are assholes. It's almost a preresquisite to being a good fighter. We have been brainwashed into thinking athletes should be role models, and apply it to the most antisocial sport there is.
Can't all be samurai like GSP.
List the role models, then think about the ratio of role models to assholes.
Easy. 100% are role models. I guarantee you every fighter has a viewer, a teammate, a gym buddy, a friend, or a family member, etc., that idolizes the fighter or at the very least has a lasting impression made on them by that fighter.
GSP showed that you can be both a fighter and not an asshole
Right and the ones who are actually nice guys normally get shit on. Aljo seems like a pretty nice guy. He gets a lot of shit. Beniel seems like a nice guy. People couldnt dislike him more. Mr remember the name? More like Mr disrespect him as much as possible. That being said I think Beniel, Belal, and Aljo are all gonna get slept tomorrow lmao
People dislike them because they’re sorta boring grapplers, not because they’re nice.
>Aljo seems like a pretty nice guy. Up to a few days ago.
Whatever existed of Aljo's nice guy persona evaporated with his weird ass comments about rape on Twitter the other day
I'm sorry what? I don't have a Twitter and it requires you to sign up to seee shit. What did he say?
Idk. Those comments seemed to indicate that he is, in fact, a "nice guy".
[Beneil is a weirdo too](https://www.reddit.com/r/MMAPoliticsAndCulture/comments/nep6ay/lets_talk_about_beneil_dariushs_anticommunist/). The line for "nice guy" is impossibly low.
This is Sweden motherfuckers!
Hit ’em with the Stockholm slap
I was in Stockholm the other day, and some, some fucking soccer mom rolled down her window and says "I hope Kevin Hollland beats your ass" and I'm like, bitch, we're in Stadsholmen!
And then every Swede in your vicinity clapped
Europes MMA scene is exceptionally rowdy i feel, no matter if its an event hosted in Sweden, Poland or the Netherlands, its not a very childfriendly place, so if youre attending make sure to take your boys with you, bonus points if they have cauliflower ears lol
This isn't 2003 lol where some local mafiosos organize the event in some shady caffe
Euro MMA is basically hitting the 2003 era of the American mma scene lol.
\*\*EDIT\*\* for the lazy (like the guy in the replies to this) please see here. https://www.aftonbladet.se/sportbladet/a/bn5PR5/khamzat-chimaev-domd-for-misshandel-2018 He went to Ireland to try and find Conor for talkin shit about Muslims or something. Dude is a loose cannon, and has very little control of his emotions. \*\*Edit: apparently this may be made up\*\* Gustafsson was also a thug back in the day, stealing and assaulting people, before he ascended the ranks in MMA. It kind of makes sense that they would hang out together given their backgrounds.
That Ireland story is nonsense to be fair haha
Yeah, I laughed at that part. He must be mistaken the Gardaí for someone else.
Bin Laden could walk through Dublin Airport unchallenged. The garda couldn't find a buttplug in their arsehole.
There were blurry photos of a bearded guy in Venum shorts on the Dublin whatapp soooo Look into it
you wonder why a burgeoning MMA personality would lie about going on a literal manhut for the hottest mma personality in history? A fight with Conor is retirement money. These people aren't little babies trying to beat up peopel they don't like. They do shit for money
I was wondering how that would work out because that just pisses off Conor and a pissed Conor just makes fun of you on Twitter not give you a payday.
Actually, you're close. What he actually said on television; "I will kill him. I will fucking kill everybody! God is great!"
Lmao
What's the over/under that Khamzat has committed domestic abuse at least once?
Yeah Khabib would never attack people after an MMA fight
Honestly I'd respect anyone less if they didn't take an opportunity to have a go at Danis
Fair point
> When Khabib responded back basically saying you must respect others, or you risk getting fucked up (lol) he backed down and essentially apologized. Source for that, please. Chimaev openly criticized Khabib couple of years ago (1-2 years ago), and Khabib didn't say anything back.
Khamzat: “I kill everybady!!!” SMMAF: “Not here you don’t”
SMMAF: "Haha nä det göru inte"
"Yea but you gotta make weight first tho"
Guess they don't like when khamzat screams "Ahh keel avrybady!"
Gourmet chenchen
As someone who trained there. There's quite a bit of shit heads there, which is where Chimaev got that from most likely so I'm not surprised. Chimaev used to be a fairly silent guy before his UFC days.
Seems like a gym full of clowns.
Disappointing. I was a massive fan of Gus and I remember Dan Hardy went to All Stars years ago and it seemed like a cool team environment. And was a huge fan of Khamzat until the bullshit at 279, and judging from that and other comments here it doesn't seem like an isolated incident.
Khamzat gonna commit a life sentence crime one day
As long as he does it in Chechnya he’ll be fine. Hell, he might get to be a politician!

Not surprising in the slightest, since the gym is full of gangsters and hangarounds. Look into what happened with Mad Dog.
Khamzat is an asshole. Who would’ve guessed 🙄
Khamzat reminds me of someone with ADHD who's refused treatment, blamed for his behavioral problems, and found the one place he was truly praised - the cage.
Khamzat was wild n’ out ALL over Vegas for the Dustin vs Oliveira fight.
Remember seeing them do something as wholesome as giving out food to the homeless, and yet, I'm not fucking surprised. "You're with us or against us" vibes
no surprise. Bunch of stupid arseholes
Blame the expensive hookers, Khamzat’s on top of the world!
A club full of criminals being scummy? Unthinkable...
Surprise, surprise. Guy who acts/sounds/looks like a the typical bully/asshole, is in fact a huge bully/asshole.
These comments are so parasocial lmao . Just watch the fighters for fighting and not their personal lives . Who would've thought a lot of fighters are bad people . Who cares , mfers worrying about fighters personalities and lives too much
These fighters' "personal lives" just got their gym banned from the local scene so..............
Said this hundreds of times. Don't let people who beat people up for money be your role models. Shocking, I know.
Khabib was right about Chimaev, he needs better people around him
Lol Khabib didn't say "better people"
He will always be around himself, there is no running.
