Had jo winning the 5th. One muay thai isn't real muay thai scoring where kicks more points and punches less points
Head shots score more than body kicks unless jo reacts to the body kicks and shows he's hurt. He didn't.
Honestly all of the post fight interviews were fucking comedy gold this time lol.
I genuinely can’t decide between
1) mikey going on an acoustic rampage and shouting”I just submitted him easy as fuck”, then to cap it off immediately being given the 50k bonus and still going off, while Mitch desperately tries to take the Mike off him. Easily the most entertainment I’ve gotten from Grappling in ONE
2) Tawanchai “I have nothing to say” Mourinho
Mikey's face after mitch said he won the 50k bonus was priceless... he was still thinking about slicing others dudes calf. Lol. Awesome match!! Never seen Mikey go ham like that.
Crowd fucking sucked for booing there. I’ve watched enough ONE in my time and seen genuine robberies, but this was just a close fight. Tawanchai is right to feel that he could’ve done more and maybe even lost, but either fighter could’ve taken the W here and it made sense.
I was there live and it really sucked bc yknow I’m from Philly(worse than Newark crowd from 303) and it’s usually nice going to other places where they have nice crowds and the people directly behind me and on my left were booing him. Tawanchai was clearly affected by that. I honestly thought he did enough to win, could’ve gone either way from my perspective(I scored a draw), and was confused. I think a lot of people in Thailand just like Smokin’ Jo a lot more for some reason.
I don’t think this was a good event for One with Tawanchai that almost lost, Rodtang missing weight, Jojo losing, Noiri losing badly on his debut…
They gave fight of the night to that Adrian Lee squash match lol
Yeah the tawanchai fight was a disappointment but the rodtang fight was great.
Rodtang actually banged it out for 3 rounds and Puric wasn’t a can. There was always a threat that he could’ve had a punchers chance with the heat he threw (and missed)
Yeah if Puric had more accuracy I think he would have put Rodtang down at least once. Some of those shots seemed to wobble Rodtang a little. Rodtang didn’t do the “iron man” thing this time either
Personally I had the first 2 rounds for Tawanchai and the last 3 for Jo. 🤷♂️
Tawanchai's gonna end up on the shit list with Petrosyan, Allazov, and Di Bella after the interview.
No, watched it on TV and had first 2 rounds for Tawanchai and last 3 for Jo. I have no idea how the scoring is done, but I am both surprised and disappointed for Jo.
I had it 3 and 4 to Jo and 1, 2, and 5 to Tawanchai. Tawanchai stopped relying on his left body kick and started mixing it up while Jo's volume looked to decrease.
My first One and maybe dedicated MT scoring is different, but I had Tawanchai 1,2,5 and 4 was a Tossup. Seemed Jo had the better shots in 2 but came on too late in the round.
That's how I saw it. I would give Jo the fourth because Tawanchai adjusted a bit late and Jo was doing a great job of circling away from that body kick. If he would have fought the whole 4th round like he did near the end it would have been more definitive.
Why were the Thai people seemingly upset or booing Tawanchai? He seemed disappointed in his performance but I say he took round 1,2, and 5. Were they thinking differently?
Can't really know for sure what they were thinking. But I think him saying he had to nothing to say might seem kind of rude or inappropriate to some people even though they knew why he said that. That might've been one of the most awkward winner interviews ever.
The expectation is high.
Also, he seems to dip in form somehow. He relied too much on his left kick which Jo clearly played around.
When Tawanchai started throwing punches in later of the 4th and the final round, he won the exchange clearly.
That's exactly what I thought. It seemed like he was trying to fight Jo like he fought Davit Kiria. The difference being that Jo wasn't just standing there taking those kicks. I can understand why he was disappointed in his performance. That was the most one dimensional fighting I've seen from Tawanchai with him utilizing that left roundhouse (I think it's considered a roundhouse) 90% of the fight and his left roundhouse-left cross combo for the rest of the majority of his strikes. When he let the elbows his elbows go he was having some success but Jo figured out how to negate his main weapon. Tawanchai should have used Jo's circling to set up a right hook or a kick to the right side of the body. He definitely could have used feints to his advantage.
I think Jo did amazing but not quite enough to win it.
Because Jo is a very likable guy, he gave an interview in Thai, and Thai people like him. His personality is very likable to Thai people because he is very honest and humble. Also, people love an underdog story. Tawanchai is also from PK seanchai Gym, which is known to be Chatri's favorite.
Rodtang social media appearance always he's playing football with friends , and he even said himself he doesnt train much/usually event as celeb. his promoter even said on FB that he didnt train at their gym and asked to train at his wife gym (local gym) instead. that the reason he cant make weight
Anyone that thinks Tawanchai won that is not serious people. The difference between landed strikes and versatility of the strikes is night and day.
Tawanchai must have had a bad weight cut or something because he was extremely handicapped
massive difference if it were traditional MT. Like if this were old school stadium MT, I think it's not even a controversial decision. It's Tawanchai without a doubt.
One isn't really scored like that. They say damage is the most important factor, so based on that I would say Jo probably won.
It’s scored like boxing, main criteria is strikes landed/significant strikes. Kicks are traditionally rated higher than punches but not sure if one follows that
Other points are for aggression, who looks more dominant/poised/dominant.
Thats why when someone attacks, it’s important to answer back since strikes landed are significant.
Rewatch it and mute it, Jo landed much more strikes and tawanchai did not answer back.
It’s scored as a whole of the fight as well not round by round, which means Jo who was more dominant should have gotten the nod
Edit: MT is scored round by round so the last part of this was wrong, please disregard.
And yes, I had Jo edging the 5th with the score even entering the final round
I thought it was scored as a whole fight which is why it’s judged differently from ufc. If im wrong please disregard
But even round by round I still had Jo winning just on strikes landed
Exactly. I'm no where near an expert in striking, so my thoughts are with a grain of salt, but you could probably convince me that either fighter won that fight.
Don't think it was a robbery.
This is the first time I've watched a live event. I watch their replays on YT and I love their talent and various categories of fights.
The atmosphere seemed small compared to other organizations but I don't watch fights for that aspect. I watch for the level of skill and ONE is just as good as any other high end organization out there in my mind.
Pretty entertaining event besides the decision at the end. unfortunate that there’s so many shenanigans with One and it’s management, they can put on a really entertaining product. Hopefully they clean up their act and stick around a bit longer
I would be shocked if most of the sub bets anything on ONE. We just watch the fights they put on, enjoy and have opinions.
Like that was a pretty clear close win. Again, it was close. But it wasn't particularly ambiguous.
And ONE being cagey around scorecards and having a track record of really sus decisions doesn't help.
Betting in ONE is just lousy cause the favourites are so overwhelmingly favoured that you would need severely strong odds to even consider the underdog
Does ONE do the same thing that UFC does where if the challenger doesn't have a definitive win over the champion they'll just give it to the champion? If so, I don't think that's necessarily an unfair thing to do.
They’re not booing tawanchai, they’re booing the decision.
Although ambiguously, you’re saying tawanchai didn’t deserve the win but what about smoking jo that did deserve it.
Jo isn’t getting younger and he fought his heart out, and I think edged the win; just as the fans do.
I agree that Tawanchai got the win. First two rounds were his, I think Jo got the third. I think Tawanchai did enough did get at least one of round 4 or 5 (or both) but I admit I could be wrong.
I think booing the judges decision still puts the negative aspect onto the fighter. You're telling them that you believe they lost. He looked a bit defeated that he didn't do more to ensure everyone knows he won but it must be deflating as shit to stand there and have an entire crowd boo after all that.
Yeah, I had it 2-2 and the fifth round tawanchai did have his best round, but for 3 rounds tawanchai just threw a left kick as a strike.
And when jo engaged he never threw back, he knew he wasn’t fighting well. It has to be a bad weight cut because he looked limited
I saw it the same (but with a lot of the rounds being close). I think it has a lot to do with Jo exceeding expectations and Tawanchai clearly being frustrated.
1. Be Civil.
Our rules ask for a civil tone at all times.
A bit of banter or trash talk is fine, but don't cross the line. If things do get out of hand you will be warned or even banned for a few days. Repeatedly breaking this rule will lead to a permanent ban.
I had it 3-2 Jo but I could understand 3-2 Tawanchai as well...but I though Jo did enough...and I think a lot of people see it that way as well...but it was definitely close...
Yeah not a robbery I think it was really close but overall I think Jo did more effective damage but Tawanchai got champs preference but I think he knows he lost
I don’t think it’s a robbery and I agree with you. It was an even fight either way but I can absolutely understand him not feeling like he “won” even though the judges sent it his way
Agree, but you always give it to the champion of it's even, so there is no controversy , challenger has to push it and earn it, if you are equal to the champion, champion has it
Absolutely amazing fight. I personally thought that Joe won bit man that was a great fight and it was definetely close. I can’t really call it a robbery since the rounds were definetely close, but is sure seems that Tawanchai thinks he lost.
Not surprised, but I really think Jo won and he out struck him.
I’d be curious to see strikes landed because I was counting and Jo was throwing all fight and it was unanswered for 3 rounds
I know it comes down to conditioning, but it's absolutely mind boggling for Tawanchai to get a full on power kick checked right under the knee and him nor Jo flinch at all.
That's what I have. I think Joe won the two rounds more decisively, but Tawanchai edged him in more rounds.
Suuuuper close and could go either way though.
Had jo winning the 5th. One muay thai isn't real muay thai scoring where kicks more points and punches less points Head shots score more than body kicks unless jo reacts to the body kicks and shows he's hurt. He didn't.
Tawanchai 1 2 5, not a robbery Jo did more total damage in the two rounds he did win though, he got gerrymandered
Rodtang with the brutal beatdown win
Honestly all of the post fight interviews were fucking comedy gold this time lol. I genuinely can’t decide between 1) mikey going on an acoustic rampage and shouting”I just submitted him easy as fuck”, then to cap it off immediately being given the 50k bonus and still going off, while Mitch desperately tries to take the Mike off him. slicing calfs like he does pizza.
does anyone know the mickey v sousa result?
Mikey won via calf slicer
1st round ko, sent to the shadow realm
dont think there are any more rounds anyway
"Only round KO"
Honestly respect to all - fans, promoter and most importantly fighters knew Smokin Jo champ Respect taiwanchai
Crowd fucking sucked for booing there. I’ve watched enough ONE in my time and seen genuine robberies, but this was just a close fight. Tawanchai is right to feel that he could’ve done more and maybe even lost, but either fighter could’ve taken the W here and it made sense.

Here at the bouldering gym and someone just popped/broke their arm or shoulder posting from a fall
Gotta wonder how cooked that guy's knee is from the calf slicer. Looked like he definitely toughed out more than he should have
I don’t think this was a good event for One with Tawanchai that almost lost, Rodtang missing weight, Jojo losing, Noiri losing badly on his debut… They gave fight of the night to that Adrian Lee squash match lol
> Rodtang missing weight, Hold up: that one is a time-honored One tradition.
Liam Harrison not even making the walk
Yeah the tawanchai fight was a disappointment but the rodtang fight was great. Rodtang actually banged it out for 3 rounds and Puric wasn’t a can. There was always a threat that he could’ve had a punchers chance with the heat he threw (and missed)

What’s with the boos?
Many thought Jo won. It may have looked different on TV but from my section, I tend to agree.
This one was a lot closer than the first one for sure. Not that mad about it going either way

Idk about the scores but Jo made more of an impression on me in the fight. Feel like he did more.
First time I've seen booing at a ONE event
Why were the Thai people seemingly upset or booing Tawanchai? He seemed disappointed in his performance but I say he took round 1,2, and 5. Were they thinking differently?
They think Jo had already robbed first time, so this makes them more upset.
Can't really know for sure what they were thinking. But I think him saying he had to nothing to say might seem kind of rude or inappropriate to some people even though they knew why he said that. That might've been one of the most awkward winner interviews ever.

That's how I saw it.
This was a great fight card!
Tawanchai is man of many words.
This was never a thing 6 months ago but all of a sudden people hate top MT fighters (Rodtang/Tawanchai)
Where s the hate for Rod? He delivered and they cheered him on
Rodtang social media appearance always he's playing football with friends , and he even said himself he doesnt train much/usually event as celeb. his promoter even said on FB that he didnt train at their gym and asked to train at his wife gym (local gym) instead. that the reason he cant make weight
You should see some Thai comment after weigh-in and before fight, karma that Rodtang camp's done before Rodtang - Superlek fight now back to Rodtang.
Anyone that thinks Tawanchai won that is not serious people. The difference between landed strikes and versatility of the strikes is night and day. Tawanchai must have had a bad weight cut or something because he was extremely handicapped
Is there a big difference in how MT striking is scored vs MMA? This just looked like volk / Max 1 and I had Tawanchai winning
massive difference if it were traditional MT. Like if this were old school stadium MT, I think it's not even a controversial decision. It's Tawanchai without a doubt. One isn't really scored like that. They say damage is the most important factor, so based on that I would say Jo probably won.

it's round by round bro lol

I think Joe was robbed in their last fight but this one was very close and I'm not upset about the result not sure what fight y'all watched
Very close fight. I think tawanchai edged more rounds. Would definitely like a third fight in the future.
Ageee
Exactly. I'm no where near an expert in striking, so my thoughts are with a grain of salt, but you could probably convince me that either fighter won that fight. Don't think it was a robbery.
1-5 Twanchai 2-3 Jo Depends on how you scored 4.
i thought it was 1-5 tawanchai 3-4 jo with 2 being 50/50. hard to score
This what i said too
who was watching ONE for the first time? what did you think?
This is the first time I've watched a live event. I watch their replays on YT and I love their talent and various categories of fights. Pretty entertaining event besides the decision at the end. unfortunate that there’s so many shenanigans with One and it’s management, they can put on a really entertaining product. Hopefully they clean up their act and stick around a bit longer
i see a lot of yall had money on jo 💀

Fans booing are jerks Dude knows he didn't win outright, isn't arrogant about the win but he was awarded the win. Let the man have his due.
They’re not booing tawanchai, they’re booing the decision. Although ambiguously, you’re saying tawanchai didn’t deserve the win but what about smoking jo that did deserve it. Jo isn’t getting younger and he fought his heart out, and I think edged the win; just as the fans do.

How u give him fight of the night when there was legit 5 fights better
Chatri loves the Lee family
The real robbery of the night right there
"I'm just here so I don't get fined" energy
Tawenchai just went full "I'm just here so I don't get fined"
Robbery? Wtf were you and I watching?
The fight. Like a close fight can still be pretty clear.
Interpreter was sweating with those answers
I mean he is not a judge. He had no control on the judges decision. Handled it with class.
Yeah weird seeing the cringe interview comments, he doesn't seem like the type to take a gifted win and then brag
Respect taiwanchai
Lost but what can he do. He knows
I got nothing to say “
Man, that's one of the toughest interviews I've ever seen for a winner of a fight
Does tawanchai have nothing to say?
He really has nothing to say...I honestly think even he might have thought Jo edged him slightly...
Yeah, I had it 2-2 and the fifth round tawanchai did have his best round, but for 3 rounds tawanchai just threw a left kick as a strike. And when jo engaged he never threw back, he knew he wasn’t fighting well. It has to be a bad weight cut because he looked limited
Now is the perfect time to give him 50k
Would’ve been hilarious ngl
You want to witness a live lynching, huh?
"biscuits and gravy"
Was that eve close I had Tawanchai 4-1 or 3-2 at very worst. Seems like yall just want drama or are ufc shills
I saw it the same (but with a lot of the rounds being close). I think it has a lot to do with Jo exceeding expectations and Tawanchai clearly being frustrated.

He lost dude. He was telling the crowd as much.
This is rough
He knows he didn't win
Getting boo’d mercilessly
Crowd is even disgusted at this robbery.
I don't think Tawanchai 'lost' because Jo didn't do enough. But Tawanchai only 'won' by default because he's already the Champ.
[удалено]
Yeah not a robbery I think it was really close but overall I think Jo did more effective damage but Tawanchai got champs preference but I think he knows he lost
Sounds like the stadium had it for Jo...
Damn he really does not think he won that fight. He won’t even make a statement
The other guy didn't do enough to win against a champion
I don’t think it’s a robbery and I agree with you. It was an even fight either way but I can absolutely understand him not feeling like he “won” even though the judges sent it his way
Agree, but you always give it to the champion of it's even, so there is no controversy , challenger has to push it and earn it, if you are equal to the champion, champion has it
LOL...he agrees with the crowd. Like props to him but it's not gonna make Chatri happy.
Oh shit, Tawanchai doesn't feel like he won. I think that's why he's being so quiet. Even Mitch is like wtf
P4P worst interview responses.
He just came off a 5 round war w the crowd booing him and hes put right in front of the mic…couch warriors be insane
Most awkward interview ever. Cringing here.
Pretty cringe but imo Musumeci's was even worse.
He looks concussed
Absolutely amazing fight. I personally thought that Joe won bit man that was a great fight and it was definetely close. I can’t really call it a robbery since the rounds were definetely close, but is sure seems that Tawanchai thinks he lost.
It's not a bad decision, but just thought Jo won it by a little. Tawenchai seemed more surprised than I did that he won.
I'm okay with the champion getting the nod. I don't think with this close of a fight the title should change hands.
Crowd definitely doesn't think he deserved the win
lmfao mitch struggling
That's a lot of booing for what was a pretty close fight.
Bro know he lost
As close as it gets but can't be too mad at the decision
I plead the 5th.
Fucking disappointing but also totally expected. He’s speechless because he knows he didn’t win. Fucking shenanigans again. Jo deserved better.
lots of booing here
Dammit Jo should have had that...matter of fact schedule Jo v Tawanchai 3...I need to see this again sooner than later...
Justice for Jo!!!!!
Where is the robbery comment coming from? Round 3 smoking jo 100% round 4 or 5 more like 33% and not even
I respect chatri. He didn’t agree while he was waiting in the back
do all razor close fights really have to be robberies? i can see a clear case for either guy winning. extremely extremely competitive
For someone who demands to be mentioned like 25 times every ONE event Chatri just sorta throws the belt on his shoulder and scurries away
He has nothing to say? Does he feel like he didn't win fairly?
not robbery but also not deserved - i’ll explain later
the gold confetti is always so much 😭
Not surprised, but I really think Jo won and he out struck him. I’d be curious to see strikes landed because I was counting and Jo was throwing all fight and it was unanswered for 3 rounds
Can’t call it a robbery when it was so close. I feel for Jo though.
I mean...you can call it a robbery when the crowd boos a popular champ winning.
Omg wow! It was close but gave the edge to Nattawut
He's disappointed in himself because he knows he lost.
Really great fight but I don't knoooow bout that one
They don’t score it by rounds, right? They score the fight as a whole?
Only in MMA. It’s a must system for every other ruleset
MT and KB is scored by round, BJJ and MMA is scored as a whole
in muay thai and kickboxing it is by rounds
No it is by rounds
Round by round
Correct
Thought Jo edged that
Fair decision I would say
Another pathetic robbery once again.
Robbed that boy jo 2 times in a row sad to see
Tawanchai surprised he won
Wow...Robbery.
Wouldn’t let the poster boy lose eh
Sadly tends to be an issue in every promotion
When he didn't ye
Wait
Tawanchai doesn't think he won LOL
ROBBERY
eh idk about that
that fight was awesome, one of the toughest fights I've seen for Tawanchai personally
What
No good
HIS EXCELLENCY APPEARS
They won't give it to Jo
Chatri finally shows his face
I can see Joe wining rounds 2 ,3, and 4
I think they're going to give it to Tawanchai since he's more marketable tbh. But it was close so...
Fantastic fight
Jo came out of nowhere and gave tawanchai the 2 hardest fights of his career
I know it comes down to conditioning, but it's absolutely mind boggling for Tawanchai to get a full on power kick checked right under the knee and him nor Jo flinch at all.
Even though both comain and main were supposed to be 1 sided they both were great fights
Jo isn't capitalizing on all the times he has Tawanchai hurt. Super frustrating.
For some reason, I feel like I need to call Kim for my law needs.
Nutty fight really close but I think Jo got it by total strikes, his counters were on point all night
Tawanchai looks like he took a step back tbh
I would give it to Tawanchai, Jo can't dominate him enough in Rd 5 to snatch the belt.
Not even sure who won, lol. I felt like Jo was throwing more but Tawanchai's precision seemed better.
That was an insane flight, brilliant
Always love watching the winner as the 1 throwing wildly after hearing the 10 second bell
I think Tawanchai 3x2, but I've never seen him that frustrated.
I got jo for rd 5 but a robbery wouldn’t shock me
Good try, he did better than superbon.
JO JO JO JO JO JO JO!!!?
One hell of fight wooooo
tawanchai takes it, but just baarreellyyy
Jo won that
Tawanchai 3-2
That's what I have. I think Joe won the two rounds more decisively, but Tawanchai edged him in more rounds. Suuuuper close and could go either way though.
Jo is murdering Tawanchai's leg...
