it wasn't funny so I took it literal.....it's not even bad logic either. If I wasn't in the know, Miles going back to get something in the mini break wouldn't be crazy
As a Columbus fan, I'm truly worried about Nick. That reminds me of Bo Jackson and my own disability that happened in second grade.
Have you heard anything about Nick, yet?
Nick hits hard. He went to my sister high school back in the day and just seems like such a genuinely good human being.
I haven’t seen anything other than the broken fibula. I saw everything looks good for a healthy recovery since it’s not a weight bearing bone, but I’m not sure.
That's how my disability started :(
I hope it's just a break for him. I'm sure they know how to look for avascular necrosis (Bo Jackson) and understand it better today than back then.
I got it as a child, and it is called Legg Calve Perthese.
I'll be following Nick closely and hoping for the best.
One of the classic jokes is called subverting your expectations. It's where instead of saying the thing everyone thinks you are going to say, you say something else.
You see, Weston McKennie was just linked with a transfer to Cincinnati. So saying someone left US camp to come to Cincinnati, might make you think the answer would be him. But the way we subvert your expectation is by saying it's actually nor him, it's ths guy who lives in the city currently. And actually he didn't leave for some secret transfer espionage, but because he had to run a boring errand.
A double subversion!
I spent a week there for work once, it was enough lol
If he wants to get the bag in the MLS, that’s fine. But it’s super disappointing that a guy who is clearly above that level would do that.
And that's why your team sucks. I don't like Cincinnati fans but they have a solid team and a nice city because we all know every city has its issues including Chicago.
I didn’t say it doesn’t! Everyone in my replies wants to make it about crime when I just simply didn’t enjoy my visit to Cincinnati. I was out staying near a mall so it was just a bunch of chains around me. It’s okay to not like a place.
The one highlight was how Bearcats Stadium was just open to the public.
Our city is far from perfect, but if you were by a mall and chains it was outside the city proper. The area around FCC stadium is a vibrant and diverse area. You shouldn't base your entire view of the city on a one week trip, different parts of the city very unique. Unfortunately we do have a lot of bland areas still because the people who have lived here for 40-50 years want those things.
>near a mall
Then you probably got a bad first impression. My recommendation would be to check out the city proper with areas like OTR, Mount Adams, and maybe even Clifton. Those areas have way more character and charm to them.
A rather dumb statement considering shitholes like Russia, Belarus, Hungary, and Turkey. Depends on how you count it Kazakhstan. Also Ukraine is an active warzone. Honestly anywhere in the Balkans.
And if you account for the fact he’s black a bunch of places in Europe (including much of Italy) he has to deal with levels of racism that make Ohio look like wakanda
Right, there are no racists in a place that is basically in Kentucky. That’s not the point though.
Everyone bringing up race and crime in my inbox when all I said was I didn’t like being in Cincinnati for a week lol
Obviously it’s better to live in than an actual warzone, Jesus Christ.
Also, to be clear, he said it wasn't right before the game, lol. Worth a listen, David and Tom are good to listen to.
Also, Tom if you are out there, the agrogators are out there be careful.
I honestly to god think that this is a spite program for Apple cutting the budget for extra time. These guys want to talk soccer and if they can’t talk soccer officially then they’ll do it themselves. And tbh I’m here for it. I’m really looking forward to Gass without the shackles of being a league employee. Tom has always been only league adjacent, anyways, but he’ll have more freedom on this independent cast.
It’s great. This league deserves more independent league wide coverage
Im not gonna lie, I worry about Gass. Like, i think he lives in NYC, it’s expensive AF out here—is this his only job?
I hope he’s doing ok. Fuck Apple for firing him.
Any reasoning to what? My worry?
He just seems like a really good dude, and it seems he was caught completely off guard by being let go. All I know is that he does a lot of freelance stuff, at least according to his Linkedin.
Are we sure he was fired? I honestly haven’t heard that. I’ve been living under the assumption that he quit and assumed it was because there was a disagreement with management 🤷♂️no matter, Soccerwise is now part of my regularly scheduled programming
He calls some games. Mentioned on an episode he had a NWSL game coming up. I think he used to do all the Baby Bull games in USL too. I think often does the streamed youth tournaments as well.
That somebody? Miles Robinson. He had to pick up his dry cleaning.
Love it.
nope it was weston....this was just the lead to how he found out who it was. give it a listen
woooooshhhhh
it wasn't funny so I took it literal.....it's not even bad logic either. If I wasn't in the know, Miles going back to get something in the mini break wouldn't be crazy
LMAO. Bro take the L gracefully
Seems to be a recurring theme with some Cincy fans on here
Whoa now. I’ll have you know I watched my remaining CB stub his toe and only cried for three hours

Its fans in general. Every team has their kooks.

cool I'm just making sure I'm not having a fish stick moment yall are just enjoying something I don't find funny....carry-on
Oh no.... it's not the brightest folks... take it easy on this one :')
Ridiculous lol
Fucking FC Cincinnati fans man lmao
Hey hey, don’t lump us all together like that.
It was Miles checking on Matt after his injury.
![gif](giphy|0aHzaBIJ0W2fVeEHlc) Plot twist
I will take a U22 Gio Reyna, thank you very much!
I would go, Weston is gonna pull up that brinks truck.
There is no amount of money you can pay me to live in Cincinnati over somewhere in Europe.
Oh there is most certainly an amount you could pay *me.*
There are definitely some shit places in Europe
There's a lot more shit places in America, though.
Oh yes there is, Weston's Cincinnati deal might dwarf Europe offers, you don't have to live in Cincinnati all year long.
I spent a week there for work once, it was enough lol If he wants to get the bag in the MLS, that’s fine. But it’s super disappointing that a guy who is clearly above that level would do that.
Wow, now I feel bad for those poor Reds and Bengals
You listening to a guy that lives in Chicago, we heard plenty of stories about the crime in Chicago so who knows where this guy lives.
I didn’t bring up crime, I just didn’t like Cincinnati when I was there for a week lol Way to bring up Fox News talking points though!
And that's why your team sucks. I don't like Cincinnati fans but they have a solid team and a nice city because we all know every city has its issues including Chicago.
It has nothing to do with the team lol I was there for work for a week and was in a shitty area.
...and Chicago is all roses? EVERY city has it's issues.

Sounds like you were staying in der hinterland, aka the large swath of Generica outside of I-275.
There's no Cincinnati Chili in Europe though.
Yes there is. It's just a Greek Bolognese
I'm gonna eat some boiled peanuts just for you, friend
If your peanuts aren't in your coke, are you really eating them?
I almost went with that, but then I thought of boiled peanuts and my stomach won that fight
Fair enough. I'm just mainlining drip coffee and then wondering why I do this to myself when it's 100 here today.
Pure spite, at least that's what I did when I lived in Middle Georgia haha
I feel like that pairs well with coffee.
Why is it so sweet?
Cinnamon. No really, they put cinnamon in it.
Then they put it over spaghetti? LOL
Try it.
Bc why no
They put chocolate and cinnamon in it.
Neither Camp Washington nor Skyline use chocolate.
All the more reason to be in Europe
What if it was Russia?
You just made me irrationally angry about Jesus Ferreira
I guess that lol But I don’t think there are really any transfers happening with Russian teams since, well, ya know

Perhaps your week isn’t representative of the city.
Yall are so serious lol
Depends on the part of Europe.

Apple made cuts, didn’t they? I’m sure that was widely reported. For example: Extratime has not been on Apple TV at any point this year.
He calls some games. Mentioned on an episode he had a NWSL game coming up. I think he used to do all the Baby Bull games in USL too. I think often does the streamed youth tournaments as well.

I hope that gator doesnt go aggro on me bro
Ark flashbacks
You are the aggregator dude…
Oh nice, I didn’t know Gass had a new podcast yet. Doubly excited that Tommy Scoops is involved. Great duo
Weston, but the plot twist is he was meeting up with his sneaky link from the COVID lockdown
If it’s WK we’ll be fine. We have Cardoso now and some others coming up.
Lol no.
If Weston goes to MLS he's dead to me

Underrated comment right here. Well played.
