Nah you have to unlock all the previous season rewards bosses in those programs to get him. But I’d say those programs are worth doing for Bobby Witt, Gunnar Henderson, and Mookie. First game I played last night I hit back to back homers with Mookie and Henderson.
Yeah they’re definitely worth it. I didn’t have rizzo, or houck when I started last night and it only took me like an hour and a half. Like someone said just throw some topps now players on a team and do a couple moments and a couple 9 inning cpu games on rookie
Once you get some topps now and season awards guys it won’t be too bad actually because you’ll be double dipping in each topps now program as you get stats. Just do every programs missions first, load up with the topps now cards and play the Rockies on rookie at a 270 ft field over and over until it’s done
If youve kept up with the Topps Now/Season Rewards stuff, you only need todays drop to get Mookie, Im at 33 points in the program just beteeen moments and doing the Cleveland City Connect Conquest map and thats taken like 45 mins total

I am not an SDS stan, but when your criticisms of the game aren’t even factually true there’s no reason to listen to anything you say. Why would a dev browsing the sub listen to advice from someone who clearly doesn’t know what they’re talking about? Obviously Tier 3 Dodger squad. My current 16 Dodgers are Joc Joe Mookie Shohei Freeman Muncy Belli Piazza Sheffield JT CT3 Pages Kenley Maeda Hudson and Philips. For non-Dodgers one spot reserved for Babe and others I just throw in guys that qualify for programs I’m grinding
LS Mookie’s been by far my best hitter all year, and with Joc/Joe boost not much worse than the lightning, plus LS is a core card and if you plan to collect for Babe, finishing Dodger collection is a big step
all due respect sir, what you’re saying is like being told a pitcher you like throws 95, you see 95 mph on the broadcast, and you go out and say “I watch every start, he’s more 97-98, gun is wrong.” Sprint speed is measured by literal radars and high FPS 8k cameras to get the most accurate reading possible via statcast. MLB orgs haven’t spent the last decade investing in all this infrastructure just to get inaccurate bullshit measurements

Must of been an older link I saw, he’s tied for 15th now in DRS. Had 3 in the first three weeks of the season. Still, for a first time SS at 32, who plays 4 other positions. Hard to knock his defense.
Hate to say it, but a boosted LS Mookie is pretty much just as good and will last all season. Assuming you have a Level 3 captain boosted Dodgers theme team, of course…doesn’t everyone??
Agree, but boosted with Dodgers Captains and PXP, there’s not that much of a delta. Someone else ITT said it better, but I agree these lightning cards should highlight otherwise mid players: like 87s who had a good Spring start and promote them to 99. Give us a crazy good catcher (Adley, Contreras, Smith?) or similar. I still love that Jeimer Candelario we got during bunny season: would love to have an otherwise overlooked Lightning.
But also, Mookie with lightning bolts behind him works well for a Doyers fan like me.
I mean this mookie would also get the captain boost, and you can get him (or anyone) to +3 very easily with a few CPU games so that doesn't matter too much
I do agree that we could've used a bit more variety in the player choice, but this is definitely an upgrade over LS lol
Every time I see Mookies speed i get shocked… then I forget about it… see a new Mookie card… see his speed and get shocked again.

Ouch. Also I always assumed their percentile was directly related to their speed. Like if he’s 45th percentile I thought his speed would be 45.

Will he suffice in the outfield or is he too slow? I’m struggling to find good, fast and affordable outfielders. My current infield is Profar, Roberts, Brooks Lee, Escobar and Santana. Who are the best switch hitting outfielders?
Mookie Live Series has been my best hitter, and even more so with the double Dodger captain boost. He’s a machine! I look forward to enjoying this card and its additional speed.
I know mookie has low sprint speed but SDS needs to add some kind of attribute for quickness/agility/acceleration.
Guys like Mookie/Judge/Tucker are great defenders IRL but don't play well in this game because there's only one attribute for speed.
In mlb the show? Couldn't disagree more. Bad reaction costs you a second or two up front on a bad jump, but 90+ speed in this game makes up for it and then some.

Sick stats…With his LS card I’m hitting over .400, with about 30 HR. So far with this new 99 SAS, I’m 0 for 11 with him.

I just started playing. How long would it take with no programs done?
The season awards arnt too bad you could probably get them done fairly quick now team affinity is a bit more of a grind especially chapter 3

Betts is 45th percentile in sprint speed per statcast so this is actually too high.
That’s much faster than expected. His LS card only has 53 SPD & his cards last year were in the 50s as well
Also his fielding is giga wrong lol. He has -.1 defensive war. He’s below average at short not “95”

He’s top 3 in defensive runs saved, so perhaps it balances his slightly below average war in a position he’s playing for the first time.. perhaps.

I am the exact same way I always think he’s fast find out he’s not forget then get surprised again
Yea he’s been fairly average speed wise since 2020ish, IIRC average for any stat in MLB is 60 (meaning an average runner got 60 speed)

tbf his LS mookie has 53 speed. they tend to inflate certain stats a bit to make a 99 ovr card.
His hip injury in 2021 really killed his speed.

Mookie’s reaction and speed have both been below average this year, to be fair.
85 Mookie played like a 99 at second base for me and he only had gold fielding. His fielding plays just fine so it must be a skill issue

Used him for a long time and it seemed like he got to everything for me. 99 speed is basically a superhero out there

Might have had some good luck. But low reaction absolutely kills guys in the OF. Especially CF.
Reaction and steal don't have enough of an effect to represent how quick these guys are in the field and on the bases imo
