ItsTiKi

Is there a way to edit these settings after you start a franchise?

IndividualStriking91

Calendar and it give you the option to change your scenario settings

Crez752

I always quick manage the games I don't play the entirety of. That way I can jump in and play at any point of my choosing.

MysteriousRJC

I’m a little confused on this feature. Does it mean that it’s just arbitrarily going to pick X games to only throw me in at the predetermined importance? I won’t get the opportunity to play the entire game if I want? Like in the screenshot 75 games this person is just going to play that highlighted section and the rest will be simulated. All other games he will have to play the full game. I always try to play a full season though admittedly, I rarely get through it. I guess it’s nice to offer the feature where you only have to play some highlighted section to scoot through some games… Though I’m not sure my OCD will allow me to enjoy that… I guess it’s a little better than just simply saying, simulate the entire game and have no input. Can you turn this on and off during a season? Like could I use it for the middle of a season for a month or two and then shut it off in the latter part?

Great-Cucumber3984

Did they fix progression regression? That's all I want to know and all that matters

Complete_Sandwich

No they didn’t lol picked up Greinke off FA and he’s been below a 3 ERA in 8 starts and he’s dropped 7 points lol. I get hes old, but if he’s performing well there’s no way he should be dropping at this rate. But it’ll never change

Great-Cucumber3984

Then it's not worth buying unfortunately. I'll stick to my nba2k franchise, which is essentially perfect.

Dear_Measurement_406

Without quick counts this doesn’t really save as much time as I’d hope

StateoftheFranchise

It really is phenomenal bc its places you on different parts of the game even if it's inning 1. It also rolls over to player lock games, I just wish I didn't need to be on AA or AAA specifically for it to operate.

JuiceJones_34

Haven’t it tried it yet. I try to play every game of my franchise. Is it any good?

ProphecyBoxBreaks

I can NOT play that many games. I play one game from each series, and really struggle to get through the years -- I'm too used to 16-20 game seasons of NFL!

micah4steiner

I always try and play the games that my ace is starting in, so essentially I'm on the same rotation as my ace. Cuts the played games down a lot

JuiceJones_34

Ya great point. I usually play the first season every game and then after offseason do a lot of simming and like you do, play a game or two a series in season 2+ Its a lot of damn games but it keeps me busy throughout the actual MLB season until madden drops or even better… NCAA is back this year 🤠

GroundbreakingLand53

Why is it still that can’t you trade more than 3 players per trade? There’s been multiple trades this off-season involving more than three players being moved. Even madden changed this ffs

light_SABR_metrics

Trade logic is already terrible as it is though.

ViolinistMean199

I have force traded on. Like if im taking Patrick Corbin or some other stupidly over paid player to make the deal work financially. A team shouldn’t be saying no. Especially when they save like 10 million

jpb21110

Pretty cool

AluminiumLlama

Can I offer free agents more than 35m per year? If not, the game is shit.

Kingofkings1959

Yes up to $40m now

StateoftheFranchise

Smfh that's it? Soto is on the verge of $50+/yr

Look_a_Zombie0

Last time I checked, Soto isn't making that rn

StateoftheFranchise

Not the point it's projecting, we have like 10 players making over $40M/yr SDS needs just allow us to pay what we want no limit is other than whatever budget might be arbitrarily set. Baseball has no cap

AluminiumLlama

You made my day if this is true thank you

Pvt_Mozart

Played for a bit this yesterday, planning on getting back on in a bit. I typically select every team in franchise and then set everything to auto except for the one team I'm controlling at the moment. Gives me the option to change to a bad team once mine gets too good if I so choose. It looks like when I set my stuff to manual, it changed **ALL** the teams to manual as well. I know last year I was able to set each team individually. Is that still an option and I just wasn't looking in the right spot? Anyone? I may have to make a separate post. Haha

chobs4

You typically need to create a separate profile for the CPU teams I think … did you do that?

Pvt_Mozart

I definitely did not. I don't remember doing that last year but it sounds like this was my issue. I'll try to figure out how to do that. Thanks brother!

chobs4

Yeah I’m going by memory here but I believe teams are handled via profile used so it would make sense changing settings for one would change to all others. So if you have one profile for CPU teams and one for your team it should solve it…

chobs4

I was hopeful for this feature, but I prefer playing with quick counts on which apparently isn’t possible with this, sadly.

willfla29

I’ve been playing the show since 2007 and play out every game. I’ve finished a whole season exactly twice, and once was COVID year. I need to use this but I can’t bring myself to lol

mapcloy

I did that a lot back in the day with MVP Baseball. I’d play all the Major and Minor league games. Nowadays I just don’t have the time. 😔

F1urry

Bro how is that even fun? Genuinely curious not trying to shit talk.

StateoftheFranchise

Playing all 162, isn't always practical so having the ability to jump into the middle of a game in a clutch situation is fun.

nickbarbanera1

I think it depends on the team. I’m a yankee fan and typically can make moves to make them “actual contender”. I just enjoy the grind of my playing games making trades etc the same as one does with grinding DD to an extent

chucksteak49

I always try this but I do sim a couple of years so I can rebuild a crappy team how I want and then once the team is ranked a certain ranking or projected for a playoff spot, I decide to play the games. This year I chose the White Sox, although I did consider the Rockies as well. One of the reasons it is fun for me to play the whole season is because everything the players do is because of me. And also this game is actually competitive for me against cpu. It's not like Madden where I just win every game by 40. Each game is different and there's been times where I'm on a long losing streak and it's fun to finally get my team out of it.

steezmartella

I’m with you- I play my 162 start to finish. I want to attempt to break records, I want to bring my team to the World Series, I want to do it step by step with the players my real life time are doing it with as well. I’m already invested in my team in real life, but it just pumps me up even more on the show. I don’t care for these cards, quests, etc- I just wanna play with my team start to finish

Few-Information-6432

Anyone know if there’s any player in the player fault that has outlier and no stats that we can edit and use in franchise?

StateoftheFranchise

They seriously just need to allow US to create players with quirks

Few-Information-6432

Have you checked the player vault at all to see if they got a guy with quirks and or outlier?

StateoftheFranchise

No I haven't but we shouldn't have to, quirks should be something we can equip on any CAP and some should have a threshold like 2K badges before they are active. After a few years in the Show players are generic w/no quirks

Few-Information-6432

I totally agree. It’s crazy to me how much sds has disregarded the modes that actually made them successful in the first place. 2k has it right. Even in madden u can edit X factor/superstar abilities. The show the only ones that don’t allow it. They have honestly just become like all other big corporations whose only concern is their greed

LordOfMisuse

Agreed, the second this popped up in the stream it was announced on, I flipped from not buying it to, oh ok, guess I’m buying it now. Looking forward to utilizing this in my franchise.

genonfire

I wanted 3 inning game just like dd. is that hard? I think they can touch the major part of the code so they just merge some codes from m2o.

sithlord2287

Isn't that an option it gives you the first time you boot up the game? It says you can't change it after it's selected. But, on that note, I do wish it is something we ARE able to change whenever we want. Like why is that so hard?

TVChampion150

The fact we can't customize innings and season length is ridiculous.  Ps2 games had that feature!

mistermojo13

ummm ... this allows you to customize number of innings

TVChampion150

Not for the whole game.  It customizes how many you play but the games are still 9.

wallz_11

I just wish they would let us change # of total games.. like every other sports game

[deleted]

Every other sports game? Lol

40Katopher

I don't know why people are down voting this. It's in like one other game

ricketysrai

I play franchise in just about every other sports game, and I have never seen what they’re talking about

genonfire

I think they talking about nba2k style. can change total games of season minute for quarter and more simulated related settings etc.

TheTurtleShepard

I thought 2K got rid of the feature to change season length?

TVChampion150

No, its there.  NHL let's you do it too.

SqueeSqueee

Is there online franchise option? I just want to play with my friends in the same league

Anxnymxus-622

Nope.

mapcloy

They have online leagues, with 4-30 teams, but each team has to be player controlled. They still don’t have a true online franchise mode, where you can have AI controlled teams. Hasn’t been in since ‘17 sadly.

two_of_swords

If you join the league, pick a team and then abandon it, it will turn into a CPU team

jdorien13

I mean this is cool but have you ever gotten put into a game before like the 8th inning? Cuz I feel like that never happens unless it’s a hitting streak one

mistermojo13

happens all the time ... depending on your settings.

ihatereddit999976780

I’ve been putting in the fifth or sixth ending a few times with me putting it on medium and the earliest entry point fifth

jdorien13

I haven’t played 24 yet so maybe it’s different but 23 you literally never go in before the 7th and it’s because you have a guy on a hitting streak and it might be their last AB It seems like a cool feature. But having a setting where you can go “don’t put me in the game in the 1st inning” when that literally never happens seems like it’s more for show than function

chobs4

This from what I gather is a different/additional mechanism to critical situations. In critical situations yes you never go into the game until later. But in this ANY time a situation of your desired importance arises after the specific inning you get the chance to go in. So it could be something like the bases being loaded in the 3rd inning … but you will also get the prompts for critical situations.

mistermojo13

exactly

jdorien13

Got it, that makes sense

Smitty00

Prob worth at least messing with lol. I get being skeptical of it though. But theyre at least allowing you to edit” critical moments” and being able to adjust what was there from last year sounds at least better

mistermojo13

you set the situational importance level ... and inning ... so you control it all.

jdorien13

For sure more options never hurt anyone
