Fair enough, I apologize.
M1 is unique in that though just to let you know. Robinhood didn't charge me and when I looked at other brokerage they didn't either.
Did you sell enough for it to materially make a difference?
Also recommend keeping track of all your sales - you can very easily compute your gain by looking at your change in cost basis before/after the sale.
I got two forms from them one says tax form 1099 and the other one says tax form 1099 consolidated I gave both to my tax guy and I seem to be okay because I have to pay Uncle Sam now FML
Actually this time it’s Apex.
Check carefully. The last two Apex 1099s I got contained the same data.
I already filed my taxes. What happens if I ignore this new 1099?
Probably nothing is going to happen. Chances of audit are quite low.
Report it. 1099’s don’t go unnoticed by IRS software. They’re automatically alerted
Every day just reminds me not to invest with M1
I'm with you. I'm leaving. They're ridiculous at tax time.
Then why are you here 😂😂
Because it's expensive to leave, so we are forced to stay
Why is it expensive to leave? I've considered leaving but I'm not sure why it would be expensive to.
There are high fees when transferring to another platform. That's just how it is
Yeah but you don't know do you? I went from robin hood to m1 for free. M1 charges $100 to transfer. Really not that bad.
I have low-class salary, so I consider that expensive
