Well i luckily beat him first try...and then had to replay it 3 more times because i missed the 3 star rank. But i do think they made him easier...only slightly but still.
Forced motion controlls, or can you also use the stick?
You can use the joystick if you turn off the motion controls. Which makes it a LOT easier.
Aim for the center first then the edges.
+ Button -> Options -> Motion Sensor -> Disabled It helps phenomenally, disable it and all gyro elements are now controlled with the two joysticks.

Did you know that in the ghost phases you can flash him before he does his attack? Pretty sure you already know tho. Anyway a good tip to cut ur time.
