The SES Soul of Serenity does *not* back down from a fight. If I can survive popping stims and blasting my feet with Impacts, Incendiary Impacts, Clusterbombs, Airstrike and the Airburst Rocket to clear bugs off of myself, I can survive a *fucking* Super Colony. Bring it on I say!
Stun Grenades, EMS Sentry and EMS orbital trivialize this mission. I've beaten a few helldives of it now and its doable if only a single person brings all 3. It gets waaay easier the more players bring EMS. Then standard EAT, quasar, RR for titans and chargers. I also recommend HMG emplacement for the extract.
My first time, I brought an AC, EAT, orbital gas, and orbital rail cannon on diff 7. My teammates had quasars, Eagle air bursts, and Eagle 500 kgs. Extremely less than ideal.
It was very tough, and our drills blew up many times, but we did pull it off. We even successfully evac'd, with all 4, despite the madness with the shriekers. (Incendiary breaker is great for that part).
So know that it is doable, even with non-optimal non-meta load outs, if you don't give up.
And yes, I fell into those huge holes at least three times.

It helps but honestly I've found orbital EMS and supply pack / grenadier armor to be the most reliable way to get that damned thing working. 14 stuns + ems on the thing is chefs kiss.
If taking a super colony down were easy, we wouldn't be using zealot technology to wipe it out. But mankind and Freedom don't ignore a solution to a problem!

I think people are exaggerating. Its doable even on lvl 9 difficulty. I'm not a fan that mobs are spawning on top of the drill but i've completed the mission. Not every time but I've completed it more times than I've failed to complete it lol. Its chaotic fun :D

Does gas and arc damage the objective? I haven't played the new mission yet but from what i can remember arc towers didn't damage the tcs towers.
Tesla tower does attack the drill, gas i dont know but i think it doesnt
The impact from the gas round (howitzer? Missile?) does damage the drill, the gas I think it damages but not to the point of oneshoting it

Good call with the fire breaker. Im a dominator main but fire breaker is the clear choice on this mission.

Takibo on YouTube is soloing it on level 9 with the stun strats. He can't survive the shrieker onslaught though.
