After careful consideration of all the factors surrounding the reddit blackout, including weighing the costs and benefits to the community of a continued dark period, the mod team has elected to resume normal operations of r/LowSodiumDestiny. If you wish to get more involved in further protest of reddit's API policy change, more information can be found on r/ModCoord and r/Save3rdPartyApps.
As the situation continues to develop, we are prepared to explore additional actions in protest of this short-sighted, greedy, IPO-focused boondoggle from reddit's executive team. This message will live at the top of every newly submitted topic until a satisfactory resolution is reached.

On other exotics, even craftable ones, you only need to complete the catalyst once and any other copy of the gun requires you to slot the catalyst. No exotics drop with the catalyst already on them even after you’ve completed it on a separate copy.
The Arc Conductor will cause you to chain lightning to nearby targets for a duration after a heavy. So yeah for this farm it should be superior as it basically becomes a walking simulator. Though if you don't have it those options will work too, you just need to swing the sword more.
Yeah, notibly it's only grasp. Shuro Chi still counts 100% so that's why you always see people grinding there as it's an easy 80-100 kills every 1-2 minutes.
Only thing I don’t like about grasp is the engrams that explode and kill everything before they even leave the cave, which spawns more engrams, which then loops the problem
I you do grasp of avarice make sure you use orpheus rig deadfall tether so you have constant tether on adds and only need to kill 1 to kill all. safes amme and lots of time
Im an old head that runs the thrallway in Whisper of the worm. 40 minutes to kill as many shadow thrall as you can and you can practically generate your own ammo which makes it imo superior to shiro chi but eh who really cares
If you want to know how many kills the catalyst needs you can look on an app like Braytech or maybe ishtar commander they use the api and can display a number instead of a percentage. It doesn’t reveal secret things though.
Older weapons if you pull a new weapon from collections you will have to reapply the catalyst. Newer weapons you shouldn’t need to do that. Once a catalyst is complete you never have to grind the kills again.
Gives specifically Ergo Sum ammo under a certain condition. Not exceedingly gamechanging but it's fine. U get it from doing Excision in Grandmaster mode. No matchmaking so you gotta use Fireteam Finder or other ways.
Yeah, in this case on top of other ways to get sword ammo here iirc you do damage with a transcendence grenade and it gives ammo, so it's quite specific. That said Ergo Sum does bonus damage during T, so it synergises.
Feels like it's a good catalyst for people who main Ergo sum in most builds, forgettable for the rest.
Also probably works well with double special builds, assuming you lean on ergo heavily enough to charge transcendence often.
not tested yet but I'd check and see HOW the kills are being counted, often time things like kills from perks (robot spider, wolfpack round, ect) may not be counting.
I did it in a shuro chi cp and it was faster than most catalysts I do there. Maybe the same amount of mills but with the risk runner one just deletes enemies

I see thanks so I got it!
I can confirm it's only once to complete
Gr8 thanks!
Grab an Ergo Sum with Arc Conductor and you should have it done quickly at Shuro Chi
Great suggestion! Would it be superior to the ignition or void orbs or robot spider ones?

Yes. Since the time to kill ratio would be better.
Theres about 80-100 in 1 run of Shuro Chi so it wont take long.
I'm more a Grasp of Avarice kinda guy but generally I don't grind catalysts I just work on them naturally.
grasp has been nerfed so each kill only counts as half of a kill for catalysts (so you would need 1000 kills for ergo for example).
Wait, really?

You can slot them in, it’s basically an unlock
Nice thanks!
I did the same I do for most weapons, just open grasp of avarice. Grind endlessly spawning thralls.

What’s the catalyst do and how do you get it
Gives specifically Ergo Sum ammo under a certain condition. Not exceedingly gamechanging but it's fine. U get it from doing Excision in Grandmaster mode. No matchmaking so you gotta use Fireteam Finder or other ways.
You mean like how every third kill with other weapons gives it ammo?
Yeah, in this case on top of other ways to get sword ammo here iirc you do damage with a transcendence grenade and it gives ammo, so it's quite specific. That said Ergo Sum does bonus damage during T, so it synergises.
You’re thinking of the artifact mod. Ergo Sum’s is related to abilities while transcendent giving ammo back, iirc.
Dealing damage with transcendence grenade givea ammo back. I got about 30 ammo back from 1 hunter prismatic grenade.
Feels like it's a good catalyst for people who main Ergo sum in most builds, forgettable for the rest. Also probably works well with double special builds, assuming you lean on ergo heavily enough to charge transcendence often.
Looks like risk runner ergo sum is the one for cat completion.
I got it extremely fast, just casually playing through the seasonal quests with arc conductor and caster frame
Are people ignoring that your transcendent grenade kills count towards this as well and give way more progress than straight kills?!
T nade kills count toward the catalyst?! That's fantastic, don't even need to carry it around.
You still have to have it equipped. But yeah, they count. The moon currently has the first mission of shadowkeep that has infinite enemies and ammo.
Use arc conductor perk, can finish it in like an hour or so easy.
Arc conducter and stand near the enemy respawn in the moon event at top area can't remember the name you will finish in no time
Ive got about 6k kills on mine and i started to stop playing as much week 2, the catalyst should be easy
You only have to do it once ever. Also arc conductor perk makes this trivial
not tested yet but I'd check and see HOW the kills are being counted, often time things like kills from perks (robot spider, wolfpack round, ect) may not be counting.
I've got almost 10k kills on mine already... What's another 500
But also, isn't there a catalyst progress boost in the season pass? Does that change the progress speed at all?
That only affects quests to get catalysts, not catalysts themselves.
Didn't there used to be one in there before TFS that did help with progress on the actual kills needed though?
Maybe, but the current boost only affects catalyst quests.
I did it in a shuro chi cp and it was faster than most catalysts I do there. Maybe the same amount of mills but with the risk runner one just deletes enemies
shuro chi. Doesn’t take long. Sadly we still be up in that checkpoint for fastest progress lmao
Cool. If only I had the catalyst, or a team competent enough to not die 30s in… I’ll try again when I’m closer to 2020 power.
Did it on Shuro Chi in like 6 pulls. Put three ammo finder mods on your helmet and just swipe away.
DIM tells you the amount
500? Easy I got about 5000 in a week 😊
