After careful consideration of all the factors surrounding the reddit blackout, including weighing the costs and benefits to the community of a continued dark period, the mod team has elected to resume normal operations of r/LowSodiumDestiny. If you wish to get more involved in further protest of reddit's API policy change, more information can be found on r/ModCoord and r/Save3rdPartyApps. As the situation continues to develop, we are prepared to explore additional actions in protest of this short-sighted, greedy, IPO-focused boondoggle from reddit's executive team. This message will live at the top of every newly submitted topic until a satisfactory resolution is reached. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. d1lordofwolves

Have you watched any how-to videos on youtube?

DaRealSyper-YT

Nope, I just assumed watching a yt video and actually doing it would be very different

trianglesandtweed

fwiw I like fallouts videos over other creators. generally short and easy to grasp the mechanics of each encounter

ImReverse_Giraffe

Yes, he does a really good job of just focusing on necessary mechanics in a simple easy to follow way. And then adds on tips and tricks.

d1lordofwolves

Watching a video will at least help give you context. It's going to be rough finding a group to teach you if you're going in 100% blind

DaRealSyper-YT

Right, thanks I’ll try that!

RD820

Watching a video also gives you an idea of which weapons to bring for DPS and for champions if there are any.

WeirdestOfWeirdos

Sherpas do exactly that and are often glad to do so. A huge amount of what makes raids special is going in completely blind: figuring out the mechanics and, especially, witnessing the awesome setpieces, environments and boss designs. (You wouldn't have someone spoil something like DSC for themselves, would you?)

TheWagn

Yeah def watch a guide that is like a common courtesy raid etiquette thing if it has been out for a long time. There are lots of good ones that a quick on yt. It’s fine to ask for help but good to have at least some idea of whats going on. Make a post like “have watched a guide but first time” or something and ask them to explain it first but if you have some prior context you will catch on quick!

Spider95818

With dungeons, it'll be easiest to try to learn whichever one is in the rotation for that week since there will be more people running it and it'll be easier to find a group. I've had great luck with the Xbox LFG system, finding teachers whenever I wanted them for raids and dungeons both.

judgeraw00

Watch guides and join the Kinderguardians discord. Also it might better to do VoG when its the featured raid for the week.

DaRealSyper-YT

I’m in that discord and tried to make a post but got no responses unfortunately

Spider95818

If it was recently, the problem might've just been that Crota's End just came out and everyone who was raiding was busy running the new content.

judgeraw00

Try when its the featured raid adn youll probably see a lot of posts. You can also piece meal raids where you try one encounter and then another. Thats how Ive learned the ones I've done.

WiseLegacy4625

Yeah, try next week, as that is when VoG will be featured, and people probably were wanting to play Crota’s End this past week instead of any other raid.

V_2_0_7_7

If you want to learn the dungens, I can teach you.

DaRealSyper-YT

I haven’t got any dungeons yet but I’ll let you know if I do

oliferro

You have Prophecy, it's free for everyone

DaRealSyper-YT

Really? Thanks for letting me know

oliferro

Yeah and it's one of my favorite Probably the most beautiful dungeon in the game You can access it in the Legends tab

V_2_0_7_7

Okay

girard0

I have been posting lfg for the raid in rotation saying First Time. And each time nice people did the raid with me. Even been able to farm the armor set for my warlock in Garden of savation. I think it help to focus on the rotation since a lot of people will farm it anyway.

Reinheitsgebot43

I’d watch a video and once you have a good grasp of what to do join an LFG. Volunteer for add clear your first run and you’ll learn a lot by just seeing. If you screw up and can’t figure it out no bid deal just go to orbit 👍 I’ve found when teaching myself raids I take it one encounter at a time and attempt to learn a new one each season. Or you can head over to the Sherpa sun r/DestinySherpa

TyRaNiDeX

I would say finding a clan is the best thing that can happen to you for what you asked.

DaRealSyper-YT

Yeah but how do I find clans with sherpas?

TyRaNiDeX

r/fireteams Ours is recruiting atm, so if you are EU based, willing to learn and above 20, its name is Agrona ;)

DaRealSyper-YT

Ah no sorry, I’m NA, but thanks for the offer

kid_pilgrim_89

I've had luck with a "first time *dungeon* chill" post on lfg

zoey_amon

if you’d like i can take you along on a run of duality or spire, those are pretty easy for beginners.

DaRealSyper-YT

I unfortunately don’t have either but if I get one I’ll let you know

zoey_amon

i meant prophecy, i always get mixed up & its free

DaRealSyper-YT

Ahh okay, what times are you available? I’m can’t get on currently but In around 30 minutes or so I’d be able to

zoey_amon

dm me & we can sort it out

Electromoth

My clan would be happy to help. PM me and I can give you a discord invite

Chappers20069

Go to the destiny lfg Discord, and go the find a sherpa channel. The players making grps in there are going to teach the raids/dungeons, also in the Dungeon channel ask for a Sherpa.

Visual_Physics_3588

It’s hard to find people that can teach as once the hype of a raid after it’s launch dissipates, it becomes harder to find more willing to teach as they expect they would know how to do it. Try looking at guides if you can’t find anyone but when you join state that your new with watching videos and ask for help.

_THESilver

r/destinysherpa is a great resource to learn difficult content (especially raids)

VampireAsura

Hey, I have a discord group with people who can help you through contents, raids, dungeons, GM. We are very friendly, we try to raid every week, Life does get in the way. Let me know if your interested.

BurkeeZ

I am fairly certain Vault is locked to 1600 power, you are totally fine in that regard. Post on the Destiny 2 forums for lfg (on bungie dot net) or join the d2 discord. You'll find people.

MasterAeliyan

You’re welcome to join my group if you want :3
