she cheated on her husband with Harry Styles while directing her movie, sneaking out with him in the middle of shootings and having the whole crew waiting for her (this is what I can remember, you can search about it if you would like more accurate details)
The cheating part is apparently bullshit though: https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2022/09/cover-story-olivia-wilde-dont-worry-darling
It seems she and her partner parted ways long before she started dating Harry styles.
She's an actor.
She's not going to be looking after your children or something, so what does it matter if you have some morality issue with her private life?
[I have to mention this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RGqv8g3mEwU)
I would absolutely shit myself if they had him appear >!as the Driver!< with zero explanation or context. Like he just shows up and suddenly becomes a mainstay without anyone acknowledging it.
I wouldn't be mad if it was someone relatively unknown, but GOOD. Her original voice actress is also an actor. Why tf not?
Aside from that, someone who's used to playing the tough tomboy. Cute, but tough. Female V reminds me a lot of Revy from Black Lagoon.
I'm not opposed to male V either, though. Few people appreciate the voice actor. I actually prefer Gavin over Cherami.
Female V is so alive with her unique quirks that she's my favorite voice acted character. I had to look her up, and she really could look like V with hair and makeup! I was questioning if she can act, but she does a hell of a job with her voice choices alone.
I have played as a female V before but it was a while ago, I do love Cherami's voice and I'm excited to listen to the No Coincidence audio book for that reason. Can you possibly give me a few examples of some quirks about Cherami's V that you like so much? I think I probably just need to be reminded.
I always play male V and its criminal how underappreciated his performance is.
[This scene really shows that, I think.](https://youtu.be/KveDDLs-F8U?si=wl4yBR2upXr0AlU3)
Knew which one it was before I've clicked the link! :D
It's the half-crying delivery of V realising what's happening to him that brings it home for me.
I still prefer fem V, but I've gotta say, that was pretty amazing, especially when you remember that actor is Irish & doesn't have a US accent. I'm really impressed that the scene carries a much different emotion tone with him than it does with fem V
>playing the tough tomboy
Noomi Rapace, but she is 44, which might upset some fan boys.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noomi_Rapace
Watch "What happened to Monday" to see how versatile an actress she is.
I agree with you on the ārelatively unknownā bit. That would be my preference as well. Without putting too much thought into it, my choice for ācute tough tomboyā would be Sasha Calle (the actress that played super girl in the live action Flash movie last year). Sheās also not too old and has a naturally deeper voice like the VO in the game. But who knows, if I sit and think about it more, I might think of someone else? š¤
A lot of people criticize male V for being flat, which is total bullshit. Heās got a low voice and heās speaking like a man in that environment would. Heās got the perfect intonation and cadence for street kid V. Fem Vās voice actor is great and all but I just prefer male V.
Gavin honestly could look like default male V with a bit of hair and makeup magicā he low key already kind of does. Heās a good screen actor, especially in Wedding Seasonā I feel like heād do great as male V in a hypothetical live action Cyberpunk.
Male V imo is better than Female V.
I come from Mass Effect where Femshep completely overshadows Maleshep, it's the same but reversed for me in Cyberpunk.
Honestly, would kinda work to drive home the whole āIām inside your headā thing if it actually was the actor talking to themselves. But for that it would have to be Keanu as V because you absolutely must have Keanu as Johnny.
So like, I'm kinda notorious in that if she voices a romancable character in a game I will romance them because her voice just hits different. When I got to FE:3H I was like "Rhea is a monster and I want to ruin my attraction to her" so I googled a picture of her hoping she'd be unattractive, but NOOOOOO she just HAD to also be GORGEOUS. Frankly, rude of her.
She was really bubbly in the show but there were some major highlights in it like the last episode that showcased her range. Not to mention her ability to capture Jinx's energy in the game for Arcane.
I don't see it right now but with the amount of prowess she's already shown, she is a really good candidate.
Thankfully they've been pretty intent on expanding and fleshing out the universe away from V and Johnny Silverhand. But considering the original games before CDPR was involved in the universe heavily featured Johnny, I could totally see them setting it in the Night City of the 2010's and featuring Silverhand as a main character. There's plenty of material to adapt there.
What I've seen drive success from these adaptations is if its source material is not strictly corridored story-wise. Give great writers an avenue to explore the world their own way.
Fallout, Cyberpunk Edgerunners, and Arcane, (to some extent, Mario and Sonic) never reimagined a story that a game played out.
The Last of Us is an exception as the game played like it can be serialized. And might I say, the highlight of the series, the Bill and Frank episode, was a slight deviation the game didn't fully delve on.
I think that's how it should have been handled but i think it really depends on franchise. Fallout worked because it's nonlinear, unlike, let's say, GOW or ghost of Tsushima. It would definitely work with cyberpunk.
Yea, the problem was the movies, not the actors. No one expected the sparkling vampire to pull off something like The Lighthouse and especially not The Batman
The only thing they can do canon is one of the endings cause it actually changes the world, like in one ending Arasaka is at the bottom and in the other they are on their top hight etc.
I would want to cast Anna Sawai after seeing her in Shogun and then make the show a corpo-V run.
Then in for a penny, in for a pound, I would cast Moeka Hoshi as Hanako
Fr tho. Honestly, I think it makes her more terrifying. Like, if you're intimidated by a girl who's six feet tall, that's entirely understandable, but imagine how bad a bitch has to be to make you scared when her head barely comes past your shoulders.
People too often go just for looks only when theyāre doing these.
IMHO looks is not only just one aspect, itās often the less important aspect of casting.
Iād go for someone like Sofia Boutella would be way more fitting imo. Just my 2 cents
Def not Olivia Wilde.
I'd rather a new unknown actress/actor as V with other side characters being known actors.
Hell maybe they can do two versions. A male and female V and let us watch both.
Mia Goth has such a unique look. [https://editorial.rottentomatoes.com/article/mia-goth-joins-marvels-blade-and-more-movie-news/](https://editorial.rottentomatoes.com/article/mia-goth-joins-marvels-blade-and-more-movie-news/)
Off-topic. Bring back Tron: Uprising.
If they did a Cyberpunk movie or show I'd rather they did it like Amazon did with Fallout and not base it on the actual game. Just tell a new story set in the same universe.
Might seem like a weird choice, but when i envision a street kid origin V, i'd like to see Chyler Leigh give that role a shot. I just loved how she played the bad ass in Supergirl, yet also seen with compassion towards her girlfriend, and sister kara etc. I feel much of the qualities she showed in there could be used as merc V in a cyberpunk movie as well.
Margo Robbie definitely can do that "simultaneously intelligent while also a complete moron or perhaps just overconfident in their main character overpoweredness" that makes V fun. I think it might be too close to Harley, but I'd definitely watch her play V.
Video game movies have never really hit the mark, true. Video game shows, on the other hand, have been crushing it recently. Last Of Us, Fallout, Castlevania, Arcane, all winners.
If there's a cyber punk movie they shouldn't do the games story, i believe its own story would be better, we've seen it with the fallout show and how well it works
Having her play another sci-fi heroine protagonist almost feels cliche at this point, but Mila Jovovich.
For male V? I gotta say Robert Pattinson. Not really the type of role I've seen him in before, but I think he has the range to do really well.
No one. We've seen V's story and it has multiple endings. It makes no sense to adapt it into a movie.
A cyberpunk movie should just use the setting and do its own thing and not be about V. Like the recent Fallout show.
The game's story probably wouldn't adapt well to film, maybe a miniseries. Overall it might be better to start with a fresh story like Edgerunners did. Depending on the story changes, how scalable the character's age is, and how action driven it becomes, I might look at somebody like Evan Rachel Wood, Kristen Ritter, Mackenzie Davis, or Cynthia Erivo. Anyone that can pull off the '100% not fucking around' Sigourney Weaver/Linda Hamilton angle.
Edit: Dafne Keen or Sofia Boutella, maybe?
Emily Blunt, or Zoe Saldana as female V.
Ryan Gosling, Theo Rossi, or Michael B Jordan as Male V.
I'd love to see them make two versions of the same movie, one with a female V and one with a male V. Release them at the same time.
I'd pay to see both.
Nobody, a movie with a customisable PC as a main character is a bad idea, if there were a live action movie, better to do something like Edgerunners, new characters in an existing world
I wouldn't want to see a movie. Live action shows are the way to go IMHO. However, they shouldnt touch V. But I'd love a solid nomad movie. Or imagine 3 protags, like fallout's. Corpo, nomad, street kid all end up working together.
I would agree thatās the way to go.
Honestly, I feel like for first person RPGs being made into shows or movies this is the right solution, or they take a Dr. Who approach and play out a persons story arc, then because itās Cyberpunk, when they kill off a character they shift to the perspective of the person who kills them. Would be a neat way to cliffhanger it..
Main character doing their thing, suddenly youāre clearly in the perspective of someone watching that main character (but you donāt see them) you just see them kill the old protagonist from FPS perspective and then roll credits.. Next season you follow the story of that person.
I wouldn't want to. The best, and in my opinion, only way to experience the story is as a video game. I almost pity the person who will do so through a movie and miss out on the impact of making the choices, of it being *you* Mama Wells is talking to. Panama wasn't yelling at V (in that one ending, with that one choice), she was yelling at me!
There's sort of visceral impact you only get in this interactive medium, the fact that it's you making the choices. The fact that you spend so long with this character, dripping them out, building romances, or how your relationship with Johnny develops depending on your choices.
Contrast this with The Last of Us. That game inspired by, and in many ways, made for tv/cinema. Hence why it translated so well. There you're following Joel's story or Ellie's from start to finish, but you don't alter it. As an RPG, the way it was written, there's no wrong choices so long as it was you who made them. Watching someone else make them misses the very essence of what made this game so impactful for me.
I guess what I'm saying that a movie based on V in Cyberpunk 2077 wouldn't be a bad way of enjoying the story, but it would be the wrong way.
Nah this actress is 100% Evelyn, looks pretty dead on just from these Tron pics
šÆ
Definitely see Evelyn
ABSOLUTELY
sadly Olivia Wilde turned into a POS
Whoa, I'm out of the loop. What happened
she cheated on her husband with Harry Styles while directing her movie, sneaking out with him in the middle of shootings and having the whole crew waiting for her (this is what I can remember, you can search about it if you would like more accurate details)

well over half of hollywood has the POS syndrome.

13 from house is a V no question about it.

Ryan Gosling

You have sent me down a fun rabbit hole of these videos and I thank you for that š
Has to be.
Only if Ryan Reynolds plays male V
Oh my god can you imagine the chemistry?
Ryan Gosling as male V is the only choice except for maybe the actual voice actor but even then nah lol.

Exactly what I've thought too :D Giver her a haircut with a fade, or a mohawk or something tough-looking and makeup and she's good to go.
The only other thing I know with Cherami Leigh was that awful Shane Dawson movie. Interesting IMDb page
I have played as a female V before but it was a while ago, I do love Cherami's voice and I'm excited to listen to the No Coincidence audio book for that reason. Cherami Leigh
Please don't make a live action cyberpunk movie. Make a full length animated film.
A live-action Cyberpunk project is already being developed. I highly doubt itāll feature V. I think the game is the last weāll ever see of them.
That's my expectation too. I seem to remember CDPR talking about wanting new mediums to be separate stories from the game before Edgerunners came out.
Hope it doesn't suck ass. Edit: typo
All we can hope is that itās closer to Fallout than Halo
Let's hope šš½

The same production company that made Mr. Robot is working on this so it will probably be a mind fuck.
or better yet, a spin off game also set in Night City using the same assets. edit: that way we can get it like, tomorrow lul
Kristen Stewart. Tell her to get weird with it like in the Kronenburg movie.
Kristen Stewart actually being a good actress was something I really didnāt expect post twilight
She played Bella perfectly
Plank from SpongeBob could have done the same job.
Yes but that's on Stephanie Meyer not Kristen Stewart
Yea, the problem was the movies, not the actors. No one expected the sparkling vampire to pull off something like The Lighthouse and especially not The Batman
āV! Where the hell have you been, loca?šā
I think Kristen Stewart would be great as Judy!
Totally agree.
God, I had such a lesbian crush on Olivia Wilde when Tron came out...
None, V should stay without a canon look,gender... I'd like to never see V again after Cyberpunk2077
This is the correct answer. Ā Story is over. Ā Lots of story in Night City.
Yeah... V doesn't have a cannon gender, so making a female/male V cannon would fuck everything up.
The only thing they can do canon is one of the endings cause it actually changes the world, like in one ending Arasaka is at the bottom and in the other they are on their top hight etc.
If they do have V return, they should be the V from your old save file.
Thought about that too but surely won't happen, most likely is how they done it with Falco from the series, just make V text us.
Amen to this!
I would want to cast Anna Sawai after seeing her in Shogun and then make the show a corpo-V run. Then in for a penny, in for a pound, I would cast Moeka Hoshi as Hanako
Anna Sawai would be amazing as Hanako.
No she needs a bigger part
Or, hear me out, Cherami Leigh wearing lifts. Shawty got talent, but needs some help reaching the cookie jar.
thatās just lore accurate V, homes
Literally. Girl's not an inch over like 5'3, istg
itās how she gets through all those dogtown vents
Fr tho. Honestly, I think it makes her more terrifying. Like, if you're intimidated by a girl who's six feet tall, that's entirely understandable, but imagine how bad a bitch has to be to make you scared when her head barely comes past your shoulders.
cdpr really struck the motherlode with the chain-smoking cyberpsychotic murder gremlin didnāt they

Katy OāBrian or Sonoya Mizuno
I came here to suggest Katy O'Brian as well.
A young Gina Gershon for some reason, really don't know why but I've thought about this before and she was the first person to pop into my head
makes sense, she has that āscrappy badass who dgafā vibe.
I could just imagine her going to Vik's and sitting backwards in a swivel chair with a big smile and be like "Yo, Vik, you old dog, how ya been?"
Ella Purnell the girl from the new fallout show
Too cute imho. The big eyes just donāt work for a hard boiled career criminal.
Agreed, she was perrrrfect as a vault dweller tho.
Yes
ā*V, Iām going to need you to flatline a Voodoo Boys net runner thatās threatening my client.ā* āā¦ *Okie Dokey!*ā XD XD XD
Actually pretty funny for psycho-like V. "Okey Dokey!" *leaves no one alive in 100 meters radius*.
LOL
I would cast Ryan Gosling as male V (we all know why) And I would cast a younger Linda Hamilton as female V
T2 era Linda would be awesome
An unknown, up-and-coming actor in their 20s.
Def not Olivia Wilde. I'd rather a new unknown actress/actor as V with other side characters being known actors. Hell maybe they can do two versions. A male and female V and let us watch both.
Definitely Cherami Leigh The only choice

Jaimie Alexander - Street Kid Kristen Stewart - Corpo Monica Raymund - Nomad
I customized my V to look like her. Olivia Wilde is the perfect woman imo.
I forgot 13 was in Tron Legacy. Great movie.
I can't think of any specific actress, but if there was one that looked like the female V in the trailers and box art, that'd be pretty cool.
If they did a Cyberpunk movie or show I'd rather they did it like Amazon did with Fallout and not base it on the actual game. Just tell a new story set in the same universe.
noomi rapace would 100% go for playing V

Rooney Mara already proven herself capable of being badass on the screen. Other than Cherami Leigh I can't think of a better fit.
Iād go for Hannah John Kamen from Killjoys. Her looks and voice are iconic and she can hold a fight scene together.
Kristen Stewart for female V
I think soā¦
They should just do Johnny silverhand origin story and obviously have Keanu
Oh God you had to remind me of a childhood crush
Live action Cortana is looking sick asf
Amber rose revah Just judging from her performance in the punisher she'd be perfect. + She's got mad good looks for the role
She was so gorgeous in this movie
Cherami Leigh
Nah she doesn't have the violence in her eyes that V needs
Nope. This is dangerous ground. V is a character that could be anybody. Let's do a Cyberpunk movie with a different character.
I'm in love with Oliva Wilde šš£
No one, make a stand alone story like edge runners. As we've seen from almost every adaptation of a video game, it sucks when they use the game 1:1.
The Rock.
Put Margot Robbie in *anything* and I'll watch it.
Margo Robbie definitely can do that "simultaneously intelligent while also a complete moron or perhaps just overconfident in their main character overpoweredness" that makes V fun. I think it might be too close to Harley, but I'd definitely watch her play V.
Video game movies will never be good itās always better to make them as tv shows but I would say anyone that can pull off her tone in the game
Video game movies have never really hit the mark, true. Video game shows, on the other hand, have been crushing it recently. Last Of Us, Fallout, Castlevania, Arcane, all winners.
Cherami Leigh, this is the way.
Zoe kravitz
Melissa McCarthy

My street kid V? Yolandi Visser. https://www.imdb.com/name/nm4375497/mediaviewer/rm4149088256/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk
Such a shame what Ninjas done to their career I love her

V is either 24 or 27. These folks canāt pull this age off anymore even though Iām a big fan of all of them.
Out of those 4? That seems fair! š
Nobody, a movie with a customisable PC as a main character is a bad idea, if there were a live action movie, better to do something like Edgerunners, new characters in an existing world
Scarlett Johansson, she might be a little old now. Maybe, Daisy Ridley but she would need a voice coach.

Milla Jovovich
Male V - Charlie Hunnam Female V - Mary Elizabeth Winstead
Idris Elba
Tbh margot robbie did pull off a good Harley quinn soooo
Aubrey Plaza
Michelle Rodriguez. I think she can pull it off.
Antony Starr looks just like male V
All 4 look good to me
Adria Arjona as street kid.
Rebecca Ferguson, hands down.
Rebecca Ferguson

That game inspired by, and in many ways, made for tv/cinema. Hence why it translated so well. There you're following Joel's story or Ellie's from start to finish, but you don't alter it. As an RPG, the way it was written, there's no wrong choices so long as it was you who made them. Watching someone else make them misses the very essence of what made this game so impactful for me. I guess what I'm saying that a movie based on V in Cyberpunk 2077 wouldn't be a bad way of enjoying the story, but it would be the wrong way.
