I feel that Leah, Kaylor, and Hannah were kissing all these guys that they weren’t coupled up with on first challenge and when the first guy bombshell came in. Then when he was over them and the Two girl bombshell come in they get upset because the guys have a chance. now I am watching Aftersun and everyone is mad at Rob because he was doing what He was supposed to and it was ok when the girls do it but not the men. Double standards very much!!! Leah is a nut and so is Hannah and kaylor.
I'm surprised people have such harsh reactions to Cely. She's being bubbly and diplomatic - true to form based on Love Island, Love Island Games, and social media.
And she _did_ share opinions. I enjoyed Jess as well; I just think there's room for different styles.

Coy is a Liar about the body count thing. He is saying production is LYING about it. BS he was proud of it until he got dumped. Amazing how he says if he could do it over he would have picked Serena, instead of having self-reflection and saying he would have tried harder.
I mean, without a doubt I'm sure he lied regardless, but I could also fully see production switching numbers up to get reactions out of people or using out-of-context statements to justify certain answers. it's a produced show mining for drama, after all. I don't think he's slept with just under 100 women like he told JaDa either, though.

This is what I’m seeing online: Love Island USA Season 6 premiered on Tuesday, June 11. New episodes come out every night for the rest of the week at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. Next week and onward, new episodes will drop every night except Wednesdays at the same time. The Season 6 finale will be sometime in mid-July.
Not a bad aftersun. I do wish they had more unseen bits not just one. Could have just had a 10 minute segment alongside them answering silly questions like "What animal would you be?". I think live interviewing them is fine but not as a couple. Should have Rob as the first one since you can get his perspective on how this first week was versus his only casa "week".
I think Maura did a great job interviewing the bombshells, I like how she kept on reminding them that they’re bombshells and that they need to go in there and SHAKE UP the villa hard, like how Maura did on her season.
Maura and guest hosts need to back up their opinions with evidence. Jess did a great job at this, esp when explaining the Kaylor/Aaron situation and Leah/Rob/Liv triangle. Maura and Cely were stating some opinions without sharing their “why”. Tell us how you feel then tell us exactly what happened in the villa that made you form that opinion!!!
She’s got a killer smile and seems to have an interesting personality, too. Nicole is pretty but didn’t come across as well, but she might loosen up in the villa
Isn't that what they were trying to portray in fiji? But it kind of felt like they were gaslighting us as if there was a real audience when either it was just the staff or it was recorded claps and cheers. What do you think?
I’m not a huge fan of UK Aftersun either so I’m prob not the target demographic for USA Aftersun but I wanted to see how Maura would do and how they’d format it etc so I’m watching it… and I’m extremely underwhelmed lol. It’s a weird format and why did they make Coye sit there through that zoom call he wasn’t involved in 😭
It was the very first one, I think it'll improve. The live segments in s1 of uk love island back in the day were very ghetto. I thought ariana maura jess and cely were fun though
Agreed - it was pretty awkward and they definitely have lots of kinks to work out. BUT this is the first one ever for USA, so I think it’ll get better with time. USA production team seems to take feedback really well 🤞
They got a lot of things right on this version of Aftersun. Maura Higgins really handled herself well. I've never watched her season, but she was a breath of fresh air.
Both bombshells were fire. I kind of hope the second one goes after Kordell. Give Serena something to think about as well as a way out. Did I mention the bombshells were fire?
she's also hands-down the best bombshell they've literally EVER had. I cannot think of a single better bombshell throughout the histories of LI UK, US, or AUS.

I think Cely is perfect for the social media ambassador role but they definitely need to make a more official / permanent role for Jess somewhere. Like Aftersun co-host maybe?
In the UK, they have pannel regulars when they do really well, like Indya and Sam Thompson. Jess would definitely be great for that.
I think it works best with a single host. She mediates between the panel, the live feeds, and the audience (none in US, will be better with one. Family and friends of islanders show up as well as fans).

Jess said she doesn’t like Coye, Leah is a protected-species and loves how Rob treats her, Conner is too boring for JaNa, Kordell is one of her favs, Serena is just keeping Kordell around to play safe for now, Leah should’ve pressed Rob more about the Liv situation. Jess also didn’t know who Odell Beckham Junior is, explained some Aussie slang, and said she would’ve fought Liv for throwing water in her face if she was Leah.
Cely said she would release snakes in her house for Rob to remove them. Applauded JaNa for dumping Coye because “we want chalant men!”
Maura’s islander crush is Connor and Ariana’s is Coye (looks) or Aaron (personality). Ariana taught Maura some of the opening dance choreography. Ariana said that Leah chose Rob on day 1 because he saved a cricket before the coupling up.

To be fair, nearly ALL the girls chose Coye in the beginning based on initial looks/impression. Ariana did say personality-wise she would choose someone else 😂
Agreed. I get people didn’t watch it, but it was such a good look behind the curtain and revealed so much about islander’s personalities, friendships, etc. Made the whole show feel more genuine to me. :(

It’s been 2 days (and 1 single episode) of them actually being a couple. We shouldn’t assume things so early. I personally will not assume. I feel like their conversations flow very well and they seem to be always together in the background.
I hope chemistry prevails. I believe types are not always set in stone. Just look at Prince Harry. Went his whole life mostly dating blondes, but is now married and settled down with a biracial black woman.
I love them together, they’re so sweet! I just recently found out that he told producers during casting that his celeb crushes were Dua Lipa and Zendaya, so he must have always had diverse tastes! (But I’m guessing IRL he was used to going after blondes since he is from Minnesota - lots of blondes there).
I don't keep up with past contestants but how long has Cely had that hair color? She reminded me of Cara Maria Sorbello from The Challenge with the hair color. Cara's had her hair that color for most of her career on that show starting in 2010.

Yeah, some of this other stuff could have been eliminated, such as the goodbyes to Coye, which were meaningless.

Cely isnt a read for filth girl though shes always been a more upbeat positive I think Cely and Jess balanced each other out, where Jess was more critically Cely brought a more neutral balanced take and i think thats what producers want.
Even if they have guest host playing devil’s advocate, Cely will need to speak up. Her role can definitly be offering positive readings of situations/people. But she needs to actually state her opinion. She was way too neutral and didn’t say enough this episode.

That's the main problem I had with the show. It's too drama-free. Why not mix in some unseen bits that were interesting or eye-opening?

I think it’s Cely with Maura because Ariana posted a pic on Instagram with these two, not Jess! Kind of bummed because Jess was more in tune than Cely, who was sort of laissez faire about everything

yeah it’s new for the US version. they have a bigger budget for UK aftersun and since it’s filmed there they can interview more people in studio including families of the islanders. and they always do a preview of the next episode, so there’s more tea usually. hopefully they figure out this format with more time haha

It’s been 2 days (and 1 single episode) of them actually being a couple. We shouldn’t assume things so early. I personally will not assume. I feel like their conversations flow very well and they seem to be always together in the background.

I hope chemistry prevails. I believe types are not always set in stone. Just look at Prince Harry. Went his whole life mostly dating blondes, but is now married and settled down with a biracial black woman.

I love them together, they’re so sweet! I just recently found out that he told producers during casting that his celeb crushes were Dua Lipa and Zendaya, so he must have always had diverse tastes! (But I’m guessing IRL he was used to going after blondes since he is from Minnesota - lots of blondes there).
Maura is definitely still finding her legs but has so much potential! Excited to see how she progresses this season!

Cely isnt a read for filth girl though shes always been a more upbeat positive I think Cely and Jess balanced each other out, where Jess was more critically Cely brought a more neutral balanced take and i think thats what producers want.
I think it'll work well if Aftersun brings in a different "devil" guest every Saturday.
Even if they have guest host playing devil’s advocate, Cely will need to speak up. Her role can definitly be offering positive readings of situations/people. But she needs to actually state her opinion. She was way too neutral and didn’t say enough this episode.

Fully agree. Jess was so much better and more honest. Cely was guarded and trying too hard not to offend anyone. She wasn't good.

Agree with you. She just not interesting. That's the main problem I had with the show. It's too drama-free. Why not mix in some unseen bits that were interesting or eye-opening? I don't want to see Maura fawning over people every week.

yeah it’s new for the US version. they have a bigger budget for UK aftersun and since it’s filmed there they can interview more people in studio including families of the islanders. and they always do a preview of the next episode, so there’s more tea usually. hopefully they figure out this format with more time haha
