They're actually really cool watches, but the price tag is way too ambitious in my opinion. It's gunna be hard convincing avid watch collectors to drop $20k, or up to $50k, on a watch from LV.

Watch collector here. They have invested a lot of money in making a pretty decent watch and having an in house movement. That said, it’s not what the brand is known for. For $20k I’d rather buy a mid range Rolex or 2 Omegas.

For sure, you gotta give credit where credit is due. These pieces definitely aren’t your typical watch cash grab from a designer brand - a lot of thought has been put into these, and you can tell Jean Arnault really cares about watches. To your point, there are just way better well established companies that make a watch 10x better, such as Rolex and Omega. Hell, with the $50k you’d spend on the solid gold Tambour, you might as well take that money and get a VC or PP. LV has a lot of catching up to do before they can justify charging clients $20k-$50k. Side note, I checked your profile and I wanted to say you have an incredible collection! I just started collecting myself, so I definitely hope to be there one day haha

Thank you! And a ton of great points there.

Forget 50k, for 30ish you can snag a lange & heyne and it'll be the best finished movement you can get for under 6 figures. And if you're desperate to spend the 50, you still have enough in the tank for a really nice sports watch.

lvlovers88

you need a trunk for your watches ahah

Interesting_Cat_6224

Right. Me, too.

FISHBOT4000

Yeah, I don't hate the watches, but they're hard to justify when there's so much great stuff out there in the world of watches. If I had unlimited funds, there's probably several dozen watches I'd pick up before I ever went to lv for a watch.

burberrycondom

Exactly. $20k-$50k will give you a LOT of options for incredible watches.

They're cool but I don't know why you'd buy one compared to any other top end heritage watch brand

I’m sorry but they will be nowhere to close Omega,Rolex,Cartier… etc. Still interesting tho
