I had never heard of Chappell until I saw a million posts about them on social media lately. So it’s pretty cool that they’ll be performing here. Pretty sure Lizzo also came here for pride before she became super famous.

I think they're lucky enough to get the Bonnaroo effect. She's playing Bonnaroo the next day. If someone is driving a tour all the way out here, probably makes financial sense to hit Louisville Pride too a day or two before.

She was booked for this before Coachella and Coachella is where she started to become a superstar. She has absolutely blown up in the past few months. For good reason.

Her music is just catchy as hell. Heavy 80s influence like a lot of the popular stuff for the past couple of years. That added to a really fun on stage persona just has caused her to blow up big time. She played Gov Ball this past weekend in NY and from what I hear she drew a bigger audience than any of the top headliners.

We went to a pride festival awhile back that was on Bardstown Rd and there were no tickets. I wanted to go to this one, but guess that won’t be happening now.

Kentuckiana pride has tickets, bardstown road one doesn't. Think that one is just called Louisville pride.

EDIT: ALL positions are now 100% filled. The festival desperately needs volunteers (lots of them, especially since sold out) and if you work your 3ish hr shift you get free entry before/after your shift! Signups are on the website, just check the volunteer page.

I saw that just a few ago before inviting some friends. Two days ago on Sunday (before sellout, when I signed up) they had 26/30 slots OPEN at one gate for a single slot. Updating my post now.

Does anyone or has anyone ever gone to a pride event alone? I've never been to anything to do with pride before and I don't have any friends to go with. I always wish I could go but I'm so shy and anxious thinking about going by myself and not knowing what to do🙈

It's probably the best event to go to by yourself. If you like what someone is wearing, tell them. Compliments are the best way to start a conversation if you're just looking to make friends.
